I was pulled into the world of The Secret Diamond Sisters as soon as I read the first page.
I know that Michelle Madow is familiar with the settings of the novel and it definitely shows. I've never been all that interested in Las Vegas but I found the antics of the books youthful elite very addicting.
Following Peyton, Courtney and Savannah as they learn the ins and outs of being rich and everything that comes with being the daughters of a famous hotel owner is entertaining and heartbreaking all at the same time.
I also really enjoyed the insertion of the message boards for the kids that attend the Goodman School. It felt a lot like Gossip Girl only with the socialites of the Las Vegas strip instead of Manhattan's Upper East Side.
Overall, I couldn't get enough. Entertaining, addicting and an insanely good read. I cannot wait to dig into book two!

I admit that I've never read any of her other books but after reading the synopsis for Luke, I was definitely curious and wanted to give it a try.
Luke is a really fast paced, quick to the point story. Even though it's so fast, it doesn't leave anything out. I was reading a novella, but honestly, by the end of it, I felt like I'd just read a full length novel. It was packed with that much awesome-ness.
For those that are into really steamy sex scenes, a little dominance, a little romance and a really hot guy, Luke is for you. I really can't wait to read more in the Forbidden Lust series. Just the name invites curiousity and makes me wonder what the hell these future stories have in store for us.(less)

I was excited when I pulled this book out of a box of what seemed like a million books that we had stored in our shed. I had no idea that it was there, but apparently my husband had been holding out on me.
This book reminded of Invasion of The Body Snatchers, if there were a kids version. And as it seemed, there was even a reference to the movie in My Alien Parents.
It was a very short book, but it still had the classic R.L. Stine twist at the end that you weren't expecting. Very reminiscent of the Goosebumps series.
Let me mention, first of all, this cover. Gosh, he is yummy. I get excited any time I see a cover with him on it.

I was excited to read this book. It sounded really great and definitely like something I would enjoy. I got into the book easily and story really caught my attention.
I won't lie, however. Just a few chapters in, the book didn't hold on to me as much. I'm not sure exactly why, but I wasn't a huge fan of the writing. I have to admit also that this is one of those books where the main character really gets on my nerves. I think i I knew Cami in real life, I wouldn't be able to be friends with her.
Don't get me wrong, the book had it's moments but I can't say that I would openly recommend it.(less)

I've been lucky enough to get my hands on the ARCs of the first two books so far and I'm really hoping I manage to do the same with Tempt.
Unlike the first book, I figured this one out as soon as I started reading, though that did not deter me at all. Tease is written so well that I was immediately sucked in. I read almost the entire book in one sitting, only stopping because I couldn't hold my eyes open any longer.
The story is good, the characters are amazing and I couldn't get enough. It's steamy and sensual and plays on our fears and doubts. There's no way I would have the guts to be a stripper and it was neat to be inside the mind of someone trying it out for the first time ever.
These books have placed Cambria Hebert on my auto-buy list and I can't wait to read more of her work.

This is one that, for a while afterwards, no other book can compare.
I won this book in a giveaway when I lived in Louisiana but I didn't get to read it until after I moved. It's set in New Orleans, my favorite city, and even though I only lived an hour away, I rarely got to visit this beautiful place. When I did, it was for medical reasons for my newborn daughter. So Marigny Street is special to me as more than just a good book.
As Eva introduces Gabriel to all the amazing things that New Orleans has to offer, I was discovering the city right along with him. Cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe du Monde, an experience that's literally on my bucket list, and all the different sights and sounds that I never got to experience where right there for me to witness through the characters' eyes.
This story was so beautiful that I honestly want to reread it again already. I knew I was going to love this book but I had no idea that it was going to affect me as strongly as it did. I fell so hard for this book and the characters. It quickly became my new favorite series.
When I won the contest, I also won every other book in the series. I've received all so far, except Red Dirt Road, the second in the series. I wasn't going to bug Annie because I know she has a lot going on and she's busy but after finishing, I immediately messaged her and told her what her story had done to me. We ended up talking about until about 1:00am (my time) about the book and how the story unfolded.
The ending was such a shock for me and I'll admit that, at first, I wasn't quite sure about it but by the end, I was so emotionally tied up in it that I wasn't sure how I really felt about it. I turned to my sister-in-law and told her that the book ripped my heart out. To which, she replied: "I could tell! I looked at you ten minutes ago and you looked like you were about to cry. What the hell are you reading?"
I've already told numerous people about it and I cannot wait to see what Annie has come up with for the new batch of characters in Red Dirt Road.(less)

I'm not big on historical, but give me Salem and I'll gladly read it.
This book was so good! I think it had enough of the horrible trials to show what life was like then without making them the center point of the story. The characters are very easy to like and enjoyable to read.
The story itself is very interesting and kept you into it. The relationship between the two characters is sensual and has twists that made me gasp. The little twist towards the end caught me off guard completely, made sense and pissed me off all at the same time. I'm just glad it was resolved by the end because if I had had to wait for another book, I wouldn't have been able to stand it.
I would definitely recommend this book and would read it again in a heartbeat.

A friend of mine recommended it a while back, but I had never heard of it. I looked into it and thought it sounded interesting. I decided to give it a try. I was super excited when I saw that Cedar Fort was holding a tour for it. I immediately signed us up. I didn't jump right into the book but waited until it was closer to our tour stop. I regret this decision. I should have read Geek Girl as soon as I received it for review.
I applaud Cindy C. Bennett for writing a very realistic book. I found the characters very believable and it made me feel like I was in high school again.
One thing that drew me to the book and made it easier for us to slip into it so smoothly is the fact that both of us grew up in less than ideal environments with a less than ideal sense of family. The two of us had it hard and even though Jen's character in the book definitely had a worse childhood than me, it drew me in and made me enjoy the book and relate to what she was going through. This book was a great read and I recommend it to anyone that has yet to read it and enjoys contemporary YA.(less)

As I continued reading it, I found that it was completely different than I thought it was going to be.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It had it's twists and turns and was action packed. It was extremely well written and wasn't easy for me to figure out, which is something that causes books to rack up major bonus points with me.
The characters were very well defined and had their own individual personalities. As the story progressed, Johannes had fun popping in surprises about almost every single character at every single turn.
This is a book that I would read again in the future and recommend to other readers. I can't wait to continue this series.(less)

After reading the synopsis for it, I decided to give it a chance.
Once I started reading Celebration House, I fell into it easily. This book is very easy to get into and the characters are well defined and likable. They each have a separate personality that is really believable and works for the book.
I have to admit that though it's really well written, it seemed to fall a little flat at times. There didn't seem to be any big arc or defining moment in the story line.
Also, I know the story isn't centered around it, but I think the relationship between Tom and Carrie could have been emphasized a little more.
Overall, I did enjoy the book and loved the characters.

It took me a few days to finish it, though I could have gotten it done a lot sooner. I had some problems with the formatting of the book on my Kindle and ended up reading it on my phone (I know, hard to believe it worked better on there, but it did).
It's safe to say that this book is amazing. I absolutely loved it. It jumps straight into the action which kind of surprised me at first, but it sucks you in instantly and never lets go. All the twists and turns that Katie (I almost wrote Freckles...) has to go through. Cambria did a great job of making her attackers remain a mystery until it was time for them to be revealed. I honestly had no idea who was behind it throughout the entire book and I'm usually pretty good at figuring those things out.
And Holt. Oh, Holt. Yum. The heat in this book is delicious and not just in a raunchy way. It's done in a way that makes you feel and want more. I know I do. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

I was so excited that this book was about the Salem Village witch trials because I've always had an obsession with them (I even did my 7th grade history paper on the event). I've always wanted to visit Salem so it was awesome to read a novel that takes place there.
This book had so much more to it than I had originally though and it only made me love it more. I loved the Wiccan aspects of it and thought they were done very well.
Overall, I believe that Her Dear and Loving Husband is very well written and an enjoyable read. If you're interested in the witch trials, then this book is for you. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to participate as planned because I was admitted into the hospital due to pregnancy complications.
I was happy to finally get the chance to read the book, however, and was no disappointed. It caught and held my attention instantly. I'm very much into more adult books and Skin In The Game has just enough sexy situations to satisfy without going overboard. I enjoyed the characters as well as the overall story and believe that, in my opinion, it was very well written. I would have no problems reading more from Jackie Barbosa in the future.
I do think the ending was pretty predictable but it fit well within the story, so no complaints here.(less)
