If I could rate this book higher than 5, I will definitely give it a 10. I loved it from the bottom of my heart. Soooo beautiful, I can't find the right words to describe it. All the emotions summed up to a beautiful HEA. Thank you Miss Mia for this beautiful, heartwarming story. I will hold it forever in my heart. Oh, Kyland. ------------------------- Full review posted below:
I don't accept book reviews anymore but I still try to write reviews on Goodreads and put some on my blog when I feel like the book really deserves it, or sometimes simply because I have time and I'm in the mood. But there are times when a book caught my interest so much and I knew in my gut that I need to read it or I'll regret it if I let it pass. Kyland is that kind of book. I haven't read any Mia Sheridan's novels. Even Archer's Voice which I heard was good. So when Mia Sheridan posted an ARC signup, I didn't hesitate. Instinct told me to get this book.
Now let me tell you what I think about Kyland.
This book is so good. So good that I urge you to pick it up and read it. If you haven't read any of Mia's books, make it your first.
One of the things that makes me engrossed in a book is the way a book was written and that includes quotes. I believe every reader has atleast one favorite quote. That makes us remember the book very well. Most of the times, we would highlight too many quotes that in the end, we realize we almost marked every single page. In case of Kyland, I think the author nailed it. The writing is beautiful. It had me on Chapter One. First Line.
" The first time I really noticed Kyland Barrett, he was swiping someone's discarded breakfast off a cafeteria table. I'd looked away, attempting to preserve his dignity, a gut reaction on my part."
I felt that something hit me on Chapter Two.
"Sometimes my life felt so small. And I had to wonder why those of us who were given small lives, still had to feel pain so big. It hardly seemed fair."
The rest? I guess you have to read it so you'll understand.
One of my favorite Disney movie is Mulan. In the story, there is one line that I remember the most. It says, "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful and rarest of all." This reminds of Kyland and Tenleigh. I think that they are two of the most beautiful people--two of the rarest I've ever met. While other people suffer from the hardship of life, these two take the pain with dignity, courage and hope.
I don't think I can give this book justice at all. It's absolutely beautiful in many ways. The writing is stunning. The story was sad and heartbreaking that I want to curl up and cry for these characters for their lives--for the could have beens and what ifs. So many things that I loved about this book, but most importantly, I loved it because it felt real to me. I know because I had a fair share of difficulties in life. I know the feeling of having an empty pocket. I know how to be poor. I know how it is to feel so helpless that sometimes you feel like there is no hope. I know how to sleep at night wishing that tommorow will be different--that you have a refrigerator full of food, a house with a good roof, a heated water, a more comfortable bed, and enough money so you can go to college. I KNOW. Because in some ways, I've travelled the same path, experienced the same pain. Some might think that this book isn't realistic, I have to say I disagree. Try to feel. Because there are real people out there, who suffered the same thing. There are people out there who are still in poverty and going through hell everyday, surviving and trying their best to work for their dreams. We usually don't understand if we didn't experience the same pain and hardship. It's even harder when we know nothing about love. For me, this book was real. The characters were real. They touched me and they inspire me to dream big, love more, and do good in every possible chance I get.
Breathtakingly Beautiful. This book was so good. I recommend this to my friends but I can't recommend it highly enough. It is definitely one of the best book I've ever read. Probably in my entire lifetime. And since I am a sucker for Happily Ever After, I couldn't ask for a better ending. Everyone who loves a good HEA will love it, too. Whether the story turned me upside down, gave me chills or not, the ending will always be a do or die for me and this book gave me one of the best HEA ever.
Kuddos to Ms. Mia for this stunning novel. It's like you know exactly the way to my heart. I absolutely loved it and I will remember this book for as long as my brain can hold memories.

Sad, haunting and mind-blowing. A Psychological Suspense book that I never thought I would be able to read and survived at all. If a friend of mine didn't tell me to read this book, I wouldn't dare buy it.
I'm glad I did.
I'm not sure if the purpose of this book is to drive a person mad with it's eerie and haunting atmosphere, but it sure felt like it. I was nervous the whole freaking time! The feeling that you were expecting something to happen... something bad, and you just don't know when it will hit. I tried hard to figure out eveything but I couldn't. A friend of mine said she listed a few of her guesses and all of them were wrong. It was different from any other books I've read before and it was refreshing to read a story that makes you completely clueless until the end. It was beautifully executed. Expect chills and shivers. Expect twists. Probably a maddening, open-mouthed-causing kind of twist. If the story felt like dragging in the beginning, don't stop. And with the unexpected, you've-got-to-be-kidding-me cliffhanger ending, you will surely knock your ass off (as what my friends told me). This book is definitely one of the best book I've read this year, probably ever. Despite all the typos, this book is utterly mind-wrecking. If you're up for a twisted, dark, sexy and haunting read, try this book. Don't list your guesses because I know you'd be wrong. Don't think too much about what is happening or what will happen because you won't be able to figure it out. Just read and let the author take you on a journey to Nocte. I know you can handle it.

You know, it’s not actually the “I-want-to-shout-and-jump-and-do-crazy-things” kind of feeling that indicates I enjoyed a beautiful book but actually, it was the slow, sudden smile that formed in my lips after reading it. It was the way I found myself hugging the book without realizing I’m doing it in the first place. The constant tug in my heart, the beautiful smile on my lips… This indicates I’ve read a beautiful book and Ugly Love is a beautiful book. THAT ENDING. Ahhhh. I loved the ending and the epilogue. I can’t remember the last time I really felt satisfied after an epilogue like that. It made the broken pieces whole again (if that’s even possible).
Today, I’m wondering how long can a person adapt to all the bad circumstances in life. How much are we willing to risk for a person before we finally give up on them? How much is too much? Maybe no one knows. We all have different limits, some give up sooner than the others. Some just stay there… believing and holding on to their hope. Maybe there is no such thing as loving too much, only loving a little less. Because when I really think of it, God gave us love far more than what we can imagine. That’s where we get the power of loving as well. Even we experience the ugly side of love, we are still capable of forgiving, of risking our hearts again, and hoping that in the end we’ll get to experience the kind of love that we all dream of– that beautiful side of love.
Well anyway, I don’t know how Colleen Hoover’s imagination works, but she’s definitely one of a kind. She did it and she’ll definitely not going stop, not when she has a lot more to offer. I am excited to see what her next book will be. I know that I’ll be one of the many readers who will immediately grab a copy when it comes out. I have no doubt that she will let me bend and break again… but that’s okay. Because I believe she will make it up with a beautiful ending. She always does....more

We don't get to know all the whys. But I think we will look back at the end of our lives, if we do the best we can, and we will see that the things that we begged God to take from us, the things we cursed him for, the things that made us turn our backs on him or any belief in him, are the things that were the biggest blessings, the biggest opportunities for growth.”
There were many things I expected from this book but I'm not sure if "inspiring" was one of them. Until I read it. You can't really judge a book by it's cover or by it's title. This book isn't like something that you will grab immediately when you see it. But this book is so much more than what you think it is. It's heartbreaking and beautiful all together. My heart has been broken by other books many times before but very few had actually made me cry. Making Faces is one of those rare books that deeply touched my heart. It's worth the read, it's worth the tears. The inspiring verses from the bible is one big bonus and it made me appreciate the story even more. Making Faces is a beautiful story of friendship and loyalty, love and sacrifice, forgiveness and acceptance. It was really touching and very inspiring. It deserves to be read and I recommend it to all who are beautiful and knows how to love and be loved, and especially to those who has Ugly Girl/Boy Syndrome who doesn't think they are beautiful and capable of loving and being loved in return.

It could've been a better ending for me to read his thoughts. But then again, and again, it was a great journey. I wish it's not the end. I wish I can still read more about the series. There are plenty of time travel books out there and you probably think it's the same old thing. But I tell you, this book lived up to my expectation. The concept and the theories revolving around this subject are not easy to grasp, but it always fascinates me. Could we really have a different present if we made things differently in the past? Or can we really go back in the past and change the things we've done to have a different future?
I want the readers to enjoy this book as much as I did and it won't be possible if there are spoilers. One wrong word and it will break the story. One wrong word and I might ruin the book for you. So I will try my best to give my honest to heart review without giving anything away.
All Our Yesterdays is a story of friendship, love and sacrifice-- how friendship play its vital role just when you needed it, and how true love can get you what you want and lose what you already have.
The story started four years from now, with Em locked inside her own cell. We didn't know how she got there, only why she was kept inside-- somebody wants something from her and she's not willing to give it up. She won't give them up. With every torture and pain she had suffered, she takes comfort in the voice of the boy behind her prison's wall. The boy she knew but the face she couldn't remember. She knew that she holds his life in his hands and there is no way she would let him die. Both of them were trying to protect each other from the man they only refer to as the "doctor". And they need to escape again and save the world from the hands of this man.
It's true that there are books to be tasted and books to be devoured. This book is the kind to be devoured. It was addicting. The first chapter got me hooked and I knew right away that I want this book. It was hard to put down especially when almost every chapter has revelations to tell. Figuring some of them doesn't make them less surprising either. It actually made me want to read more and it felt like I was the one chasing time. I was caught up in a whirl of emotions--fear, sadness, disappointment, surprise, and anticipation. Another best thing is the plot. It was fast-paced and very well executed. It amazed me how it was written so flawlessly. And though I think that the story was lacking a bit on world-building, I easily overlooked it. A better description of the world where Em and Finn came from could have enriched the backstory more but then again, it wasn't a big deal for me this time. Other than that, the rest was pretty neat and the story was really good. I appreciate the storytelling--the alternating POV of Marina and Em. The personalities of both girls are total opposites and I'd say I loved Em more. Marina was a bit selfish and immature. She was annoying most of the time but it was obvious (for the good reason) that the story needed it for the other characters to be more effective and real. Finn and James are well developed as well, and I liked Finn specifically. Finn, James, Marina and Em-- it was great to see these characters grow and become those persons they couldn't have possibly imagined.
Gripping and emotional, with meticulously executed, fast-pacing plot, great twists and underlying secrets, with interesting characters that will hold your heart, this book makes an awesome read. I shouldn't have been surprised because I expected it to be good, and yet I still was. If you find time traveling a fascinating story, you'll surely enjoy this one. I hope there's a sequel, because stories like this doesn't need to end just yet. It's one of the best I've ever read in a while and if there's one time travel book I will recommend, it's this one. All Our Yesterdays lived up to my expectation, I hope it will also live up to yours....more

I didn't liked Emma's actions and the way she coped--her alcoholism and her suicidal tendencies. I didn't liked how she was pushing away the people who cares for her, and how she hurt Evan over and over again. It was tiring and sometimes irritating, but then I was trying to understand how it is to be in her shoes. She's broken in ways I can't imagine, and that made her who she is. BUT I love EVAN and Emma's friends. I loved how they all tried to protect and support Emma until the end. It was an exhausting journey, reading Emma's story and how she struggled to survive... to live, to just keep breathing.
I just have a little issue about the ending. It was short and quick and I need more. I don't think that that ending is enough, after we heartbreakingly followed Emma and Evan's story. I need more of them. I need to read more of their life after that "ending". I want to see more of Sara and Jared, Meg and Serena, even Cole (after what happened), and the rest of Evan's friends. Feels like I still need closure... but nevertheless, the story is good, heart-wrenching, beautiful. It was emotionally exhausting but it's all worth it. I think I'll be thinking about it for a while. ...more
