I've seen reviews for this book all over the book blogging community and it really caught my attention. The cover has just enough "creep factor" that I had to get my hands on it. I mean just look at the cover! A Freddy Krugerish "mask" and flames! Anyway....moving on.
What really turned me on about this book was the writing. From the very first sentence until the very last sentence the way that it was written kept me engaged and reading and pretty much putting my life on hold because Arson's life was oh so very interesting. Oh well, Arson is oh so much more fun than doing laundry anyway.
The characters in the story for the most part I really enjoyed. I did at times have trouble relating to/understanding a couple of the characters. That is the main reason that I wasn't able to give Arson 5/5. After learning all sorts of secrets as the book progressed I am looking forward to learning even more about all of these very interesting characters in the sequel that's coming up.
Overall, Arson is most definitely the most "different" (in a good way) book that I've read in the past couple of months. Once you get past the "creep factor" I think this book is pretty dang good. I think that Estevan Vega hit a home run with this one! ...more

This is the first thriller that I've read that has been written by a woman also. I'm so very glad that I was asked if I wanted to participate because I thought that this book was AWESOME SAUCE!
Buying Time is an extremely fast paced read as well as being a page turner. Once I started reading this work of art I was fully sucked into the story. I did think that as the book was progressing there were a lot of "cliff hangers" throughout but the farther I got into the book everything fell into place and I was plesantly surprised.
The way the book was written I thought was pretty unique. There are two side stories in Buying Time an I found that with the I was constantly trying to figure out what the link was. I thought that all of the characters were pretty interesting as well....They all have there own conflicts and issues going on and I thought it was great how all those conflicts and issues help to form the story.
Another big plus (at least in my opinion) is that by the end there is no clearly defined hero. I think that's a first for me also. Almost all of the books I've read there is a hero. So for the author to have no hero got her a lot of bonus points with me...keeping things interesting is AWESOME SAUCE.
Overall, I thought that this was a exceptionally well written thriller that has a VERY strong plot and VERY strong solidly written characters. I'm also very impressed by how well researched the book was. Pretty much what I'm telling you is to add Buying Time to your TBR pile! Do it...you won't be sorry. ...more

That and the cover I think is pretty neat too.
Likes?......: What really drew me into the story was Dakota. The way she's described you think "fluffy city girl," but the farther you read into the book you definitely start to change your tune about her. I also liked the premise of "modern day" shapeshifters....Especially extremely HOT "modern day" shapeshifters who give one hell of a back rub! Is it wrong that I really liked the internal struggle of Axel and Gunnar? Cause I REALLY did.
The sexual stuff?!?!?!?...Just as HOT as the "modern day" shapeshifters!
Dislikes?......: I don't have very many....I didn't particularly care for the "deception" scene. I did feel that at certain points the story was a little bit rushed. Overall, not too many dislikes.
Overall: I really enjoyed this story. Even with the couple of dislikes that I found in the story I think that this is a VERY good beginning to the author's series. I can hardly wait to check out the rest of the series! Hopefully each of the remaining brothers and Heidi will get their own stories!

In the past Christian fiction hasn't really been something that I thought would "trip my trigger" so I just avoided that section at all costs in the bookstore. I'm glad to say that I was WRONG about the genre.
The story is about two characters who are trying to find God in unlikely places and circumstances. Sarah Prescott is an outlaw and a member of THE Prescott gang, who has always dreamed of having a "normal" life and Justin Wells is a Reverend who is out of his element, trying to bring God's word to the rough and tumble town of Rocky Creek.
Through many danger's, toils and snares....Justin and Sarah find the answers to their prayers. As well as one thing that neither of them had counted on at all....Love.
Overall, I really enjoyed the first book in this series and I can hardly wait to tear into book number 2...A Suitor for Jenny.

Rough-and-tumble rodeo cowboy Brody Creed likes life on the move. Until a chance encounter with his long-estranged twin brother brings him "home" for the first time in years. Suddenly Brody is in Creed territory—at thirty-three, he's a restless bad boy among family with deep ties to the land and each other. And a secret past haunts him as he tries to make plans for his future.
Carolyn Simmons is looking for Mr. Right in Lonesome Bend, as the ticktock of her biological clock gets ever louder. Then she falls for gorgeous Brody Creed, the opposite of everything she wants. Until lassoing his wild heart becomes everything both of them need.
Let me just go on record as saying, I LOVE THIS SERIES! I'm very sad to see it end but I can hardly wait to see what the author brings to the plate next! I want to thank the wonderful ladies at Meryl L. Moss Media Relations, Inc. for contacting me about being a part of the tours for this series. :)
Our hero Brody Creed is back home in Lonesome Bend after being estranged from his family and living the hard and fast life of a rodeo cowboy. Having made amends with his aunt, uncle and twin brother Conner, Brody is green with envy at all the happiness that his brother and their cousin Steven have found in their new marriages. Brody wants some of what they have, so he's putting down roots and building his own place.
Enter Carolyn Simmons....
Carolyn Simmons is pretty content with her life in Lonesome Bend. She has a job, a roof over her head and a group of friends. But there is something missing for Carolyn, she wants her own Happily Ever After, complete with a family and a permanent home. Many years ago she thought she found her HEA in younger Brody Creed. Then Brody up and leaves her without a real explanation. But being a child of "the system" Carolyn is used to being let down.
Enter Brody's "deep dark secret"....
There is a reason why Brody left Carolyn all those years ago. Now it's a very tragic and painful place in Brody's life. Right now though, Brody just wishes that Carolyn would open up enough and maybe let him get close enough that maybe they can have another shot.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. There are plenty of emotions in motion throughout the course of this book that kept things very interesting for me. I really enjoyed Brody's meddling sister-in-law the best. I think that's what caused Brody to up his game. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a pretty happy read or enjoys reading romance novels centered around hot, rugged cowboy types. ...more

Kyle Kingsbury is your typical stereotypical rich kid, the good looks, the famous dad, money, can have any girl he wants, you know the type. But as good looking as he is on the outside, on the inside he's pretty damn ugly. Which leads to Kendra, a witch, putting a curse on Kyle. As the beast, Kyle has 2 years to find someone to love him and love that person back in order for the spell to be broken.
With about a year left of curse, Lindy is brought into Kyle's life and after a while things start to change. Feelings start to grow and Lindy makes a confession that brightens Kyle's day. Just when Kyle thought it was all just about to end a "wrinkle" occurs and things go a little awry right up until the last minute.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. So much so that I tore through it in a day and a half, usually it takes me several days to get through a book. I think this book has a pretty great moral to it's story, everyone is beautiful in their own way. I really enjoyed watching Kyle grow from a "hideous" foul-tempered, trash talking, don't give a crap about anyone but himself teen into a loving and caring young man. He has a lot of help in the form of secondary characters Will, his teacher and Magda, the maid. ...more

I totally want to getI won this ARC on Goodreads giveaways a few weeks ago and I picked it up and read it through in one sitting. I LOVED this book! I totally want to get my hands on the next two books in this series! I have to know what happens next for each of Ewan's brother's!
As the daughter of King David, Mairin Stuart is a hot commodity. So far she has spent most of her life in a convent, so she's never married, never had a child and comes with a dowry that any man would give his left nut for. In Bed With A Highlander begins with Mairin in the convent where soldiers for the villain, Duncan Cameron, are looking for her. Duncan's plan is to marry her and get her pregnant so that he can acquire her dowry for his evil plan.
The thing about Mairin is that she's a fighter and she never stops fighting throughout the whole book. She's also pretty funny, which I really enjoyed. Because of Mairin's fighting nature she's saved a little boy from the wrath of Duncan, a little boy who is the son of a true warrior and leader of his own clan.
Ewan, our hero, is a very intelligent very driven man. Who is not only leading his clan but trying to rebuild it after a prior massacre by Duncan and his men. When Ewan's little boy goes missing he sends his brothers out in an effort to find the little guy, Mairin is brought into the clan's keep.
After learning who Mairin really is and what her dowry would do for his clan her decides to marry her. He doesn't force it on her, he bargains with her. Between the two of them they find themselves in some pretty interesting situations and engage in plenty of verbal sparring. Oh, yeah and lets not forget the white hot sex with a hot as hell highland warrior. As the story progresses feelings grow stronger and a rapid succession of events keeps things chugging right along.
I really enjoyed watching this story unfold. I loved how the author gave a voice to our heroine in a time when women really didn't have a voice. Each character brings something special to the story and I really liked that a lot. Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a really good historical romance, sexy highlanders, or just the sexy warrior type....more

I thought that the name of the town was more than appropriate for Connor and the way he happens to be feeling. Then his wild card twin brother, Brody, shows up which is difficult for Connor to swallow.
Tricia McCall ends up in Lonesome Bend after the death of her father and she decides to take over his trailer park for him. She doesn't intend to stay long, just long enough to sell the trailer park and move herself up to Seattle. However, her crafty grandmother is working double time behind the scenes to get Tricia and Connor together. Slowly but surely things start to progress along, then a stray dog named Valentino and Tricia's goddaughter are added to the picture.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. I can hardly wait until the next book in the series comes out! The thing that I really liked about this book was it was a romance with some drama and pent up emotions thrown in to keep things interesting. The dialogue and the interactions between the characters, major as well as minor, felt so natural and like your actually there witnessing the book play out....more

Honestly, what first drew me to this book was the cover...Yeah I want me some of that right there! Once I got started reading I got completely sucked into the story right away. And OH BOY is this one HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT! Not only because of hunka hunka burnin' love Mick either! ;)
The chemistry between Mick and Tara is explosive right from the beginning and only builds as their relationship grows. Tara is a very strong leading lady, she's been dealt some hard knocks pretty from the get go in life and she's just gotten stronger as a result. She's also the kind leading lady who as much as she REALLY enjoys the really great sex she's having with Mick she puts her son first. Mick is our leading man, who despite what Tara sees (perfection) he does in fact have a flaw.
Liz, Mick's agent, is written as the villain of the story but I think that she thought her heart was in the right place. Even the queen of 'cold' has a soft side...and it comes in the form of Mick's little brother Gavin. I think that Jaci did an excellent job of building up to Liz and Gavin's story and I can hardly wait to start reading that book too!...more

Jackson Savor has always had a thing for Trace River's little sister Alani. But being the good southern gentleman that he is he is being extremely respectful of Alani's recent trauma. Things go a little awry when Jackson wakes up in bed bare-beam-buck-naked with Alani AND has absolutely no memory as to the how's or why's or "what exactly happened"'s. A little further along you find out that Jackson had been drugged and as an added bonus someone is now out to try and kill him. Jackson and Alani are now working together to figure out who has it out for our hero Jackson.
I want to know where I can get a Jackson! I loved that he was sarcastic, fun and a pretty laid back guy in Trace of Fever. So naturally I could hardly wait to get my hands on his book. In addition to the qualities that he brought to the plate in Trace of Fever, in his own book he brings passionate, protective, sexy as hell and of course the all important alpha characteristic to the plate. OMG, his southern drawl and cowboy hat caused some major flustering here! You learn a lot about Jackson in this book...Like for example: that his world pretty much revolves around Alani (that's the impression that I got anyway) and he's all in a fluster about his feelings for not only her but her kidnapping, plus he's trying to figure out the female mind which adds for some pretty funny moments in the book.
Alani is probably my favorite heroine in the series. She's really smart, quite and pretty innocent to the ways of the world but when it comes to things that are the most important in life she has absolutely NO trouble taking a stand and saying HELL NO! I loved watching her grow through out the course of the book and I loved watching how Jackson dealt with that growth. I just loved that there was so much more to him than just the mercenary layer. The chemistry between Alani and Jackson is white hot and when they do make it between the sheets it's not only hot but it spontaneously combusts!
Favorite Quote:"We have to figure this out, Jackson, so leash the lust.” His chin went up as he stared down at her. “Woman, you ask the impossible.” “Do it anyway!"...more

I'd heard some really great things about the book on some of the blogs that I have been following for awhile now. I'm still trying to figure out why it took me so long to get this book read!
First, I'm going to tell you that I really thought that the author did an excellent job of creating this post-Apocalypse world. I think that we live in a world of "entitlement" right now and I think that Deuce's world, the not knowing if your going to see tomorrow or if the Freaks are going to attack your enclave, take all the "entitlement" out of the situation. It made the world created in Enclave new, exciting and fresh for me.
Our main character Deuce is in my top 3 for Tough As Nails, Kick Ass Main Character Chick's. Deuce has spent her whole life right up until her naming ceremony training to be a Huntress, so that she can protect her enclave from the Freaks that roam the tunnels in which Deuce and her enclave live. On the day of Deuce's naming ceremony becomes a Hunter, but there are many that believe that Deuce should have been a breeder like her mother and say that she's a Hunter with a Breeder's heart.
Then Deuce is partnered up with Fade. The more I read about Fade the more he sort of reminded me of James Dean. Especially during his time with Deuce's enclave. Fade comes from Topside and a virtually unknown past, which made him a threat to many members of the enclave. So Fade doesn't have many friends and trusts almost no one.
The Freaks! OMG! Just creepy sounding "villains!" What's worse is that they seem to be getting smarter, which makes killing them that much harder.
The more time that Deuce and Fade spend together the more a budding romance takes place. Then there is a situation and the two them end up Topside. That's when things get interesting. New characters come into play. A love triangle starts to form and things get CRAZY!
For me personally, I thought that the action was White Hot! Once it started coming it never really let up and intensified as the book progressed. It makes me REALLY excited to read the next book in the series...To bad we have to wait so long!...more
