I loved how intense they felt for each other. I saw a spoilery review so I knew what was going to happen on the last couple of pages. I'm kinda glad I did, because that was a MAJOR what-the-hell-just-happened moment!
That moment was so beautiful, but also made me angry. It was so heartfelt, but heart breaking. You just have to look at this book as a beautiful thing that could happen between two people and not think about them after you're done as I usually do. I remember my couples and try to imagine what their life would be like afterwards.
Thanks, Faith. Way to make me smile and cry and wanna hit something at the same time! :)(less)

The book was fantastic. And it didn't need to have a sex scene every five minutes to do it! There wasn't really a love triangle either. It sounds like it, but really there's no contest. I won't say who, but I'm sure you can see once you sink into the book. And you need to sink into it. It's got all my favorite things in a book! A swoony guy, a heroine who's NOT a ditsy idiot and someone that I could be friends with, a great family dynamic, a crazy grandma, and it's all about the romance.
I was never bored or uninterested. In fact, I neglected my whole family for a whole day for this book. It was great. I hated the villain, I loved the hero and completely felt for them all.
Travis...holy swoon...holy hotness...yum...want one for Christmas.
Jake...come closer for a swift kick.
So, if Rachel is wondering who her next stalker will be, it's gonna be me. Must pick up her other books pronto!

I've never purposefully wanted to run my fingers through a girl’s hair, take her face in my hands and kiss her until her toes curled. I've really never wanted to—until you.”
Maddox. Sweetheart extraordinaire.
Maddox thinks he's a ruiner. He thinks everything he touches turns to crap because of things that have been thrown at him. He thinks everything bad that happens to his family can be contributed to one thing, one event, that happened when he was a baby. It was an amazing, heart-breaking, sweet, loving thing. But Maddox, as most broken guys do, shoulder the responsibility for everything and he thinks he's doing himself and his family a favor by heading out on his road trip to find is real dad, but doesn't tell his family. Just hits the road in the middle of the night and employs his cousin to help him do it.
But oh, Maddox. You are one of the sweetest, greatest guys I've ever read about. The things that came out of that sweet mouth literally gave me goose bumps. Neither of them hold back. They say what they need to say and I wish I had had that kinda courage when I was dating my husband. Maddox especially was all kinds of sweet, swoony, yumminess.
And Storey. I loved how she wasn't this insecure girl who was stick thin and constantly wondered if the guy thought she was pretty. Storey is a model and knows that she's pretty. She's not snotty or conceited, she's just confident. It was great to see a girl in a YA book that doesn't need everyone around her to tell her she's pretty and special.
These two had amazing chemistry. The obstacles that arose were so realistic and to watch two people who were so obviously committed to each other was not only endearing, but refreshing. This is something lacking in books these days, IMHO. It's not insta-love. That's not what I'm talking about. If done right, the author can make two people know that they are the one and it's not only believable but you want to jump in the pages and feel that for yourself.
I don't think it's a secret that I'm not a fan of indecisive Protags. These two knew exactly what they wanted and I fell in love with the story because of it. And we still get a feel for the family we fell in love with during the previous books. And that isn't all. You think the Love & Skate series is over? Nada.
6 out of 5 beautiful, believable, swoon-swoon-swoon and then some more swoon, yumtastic, clean-but-still-sexy stars from me. (less)

Lila's books are sweet and amazing. She's so great at wording and length. The way she describes things so well, but doesn't over describe and make me want to skip things is a gift of a great writer.
And she writes really great men, too. In honesty, I'm never really that focused on her girls. :) She alternates POVs in her novels, but I just can't wait to get back to the guy's POV the whole time. The girls always have a chip on their shoulder, had a rough childhood and been through so much and you feel for them for it, but the guys are what keep my attention. And Falcon is no exception.
If you're looking for romance, lots of it, men or care deeply for their family and women, and an author that is as sweet as her books? Pick this up.(less)

This is the 4th book I've read from this author. I thought, "It'll be good. Her books are always good." But honestly, I loved Emerge so much that I thought it was just going to be that. Good.
Lila, you continue to raise the bar and make me proud to know you, as an author and as a great lady.
Not only was the book AMAZING with an amazing message, but the girl can write a freaking book. Her wording is beautiful. Her characters are flawed in the best way, because they long to be better and go to great lengths to make it so. Her men are not just swoon-worthy (Though they are extremely swoon-worthy) they are maxed out with sweetness and good hearts.
The girls in her books, honestly, drive me crazy! :) They are usually the ones who push the guys away, but they have a good reason because Lila's girls have been through the worst kinds of hell. She has a knack for making me want to seriously jump in a book and slap people. Lila's parents... ugh...
The book's flow was good. It's a shorter read, but it was packed with constant angst and sweetness. It has enough going on that I never felt bored, but I never felt rushed either. When they met, the attraction was instant, but there was no insta-love. They progressed slowly and believably. But when they did get together...it was pretty hot.
Abel, Abel, Abel. We met him with him painting a house. Sweating and being hot and sweet. *Sigh* And though he had his flaws, like I said, when everything was brought to light, he accepted his involvement and blame, never tried to pawn off blame to anyone else, was wracked with guilt and did everything he could to make it right.

It was like she fused a YA book and an Adult one. The transitions from past to present were fluid and not confusing at all, but she still made it seem like you were reading two completely different books. It was pretty amazing how she did that.
Loved both Del and Lauren. They were normal, and though mistakes were made, they were just human mistakes. It wasn't because they were stupid or being jerks, sometimes crappy things just happen and we work with what we're given.
There were parts that literally broke my heart in the book, but the flip flopping back to the present helped make it where it wasn't so hard to handle for me.

Owen was amazing!!! And the skating parts, though small, was really interesting and funny. I like how the conflict didn't drag on for chapters after chapter after chapter. Lila has a point and she gets there in perfect timing.

To be honest, it took me a little bit to really get into it. I am not a huge fan of werewolf novels in general, but I wanted to give it a try b\c I've heard so much about it being a good book. Pretty much as soon as Isaac comes into play I was hooked.
Now sadly, I saw a spoiler review for the last book, so I knew exactly what the 'weird stuff' going on in the end of the book was. I kinda wish I hadn't seen the spoiler. I wonder if I would've figured it out for myself. :) But it didn't ruin anything. If anything I cant wait to read what happens in regards to that. I wonder how she'll react. I understand why 'it' was done and I'm wondering how that will play out.
Overall, I loved it. It was a page turner that I never felt I could put down easily. Very nicely written. I will be buying a paperback pronto for my bookshelf.
I recommend to readers who love them some hot but sweet guys. And adventure. And suspense. Great book!(less)
