She and I were reminiscing about books we'd read when we were younger and I mentioned that I loved Roald Dahl. She asked if I'd ever read George's Marvelous Medicine. Since I hadn't read it, she brought me home a copy from school. It was okay but, unfortunately, I didn't like it as much as Charlie & Chocolate Factory, Charlie & the Great Glass Elevator, The Twits, James & the Giant Peach, and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar & Six More. I hope that I haven't lost the childlike sense of wonder and whimsy that I need to enjoy his books. I can't remember if I've read The BFG but I think it stands for Big Friendly Giant, so maybe I did. :)(less)
