The storyline of the book is almost a cliché, but it’s not boring at all. Trying to reassure to her grandmother that she’s fine living alone in a big house, Emma Shaw invented that she had a fiancé named Sean Kowalski. The problem was, she didn’t even know him. So as soon as Sean is back in town after years in service in Afghanistan, she asks him to be her fake fiancé. After thinking for a while, he agrees with her and moves to her house, because Emma’s grandmother was coming to make a little visit. Of course that in the middle of the pretending, they started to become “friends with benefits”. I never read book from Shannon Stacey, but it was an amazing discover. The story is fabulous, and very funny. Carroll Laker is a typical good girl with the perfect boyfriend, until the day that her sister comes back from Quebec with a hot fiancé - the dream of every woman. Then she starts to rethink about her relationship with her boyfriend Alan, if he’s the right guy or not. Alan is the typical “too much” guy, too much respectful, too much nice, too much everything, and when he sees that maybe he is losing the girl of his life, he starts to change his way of life and spice things up with Carroll. But are these changes too much for them?
Even though I was somehow disappointed with the book, it was a nice and sweet read. It was very nice to see how strong women can be insecure about the perfect relationship, and how a man can change for the love of his life....more

ItWhen I chose this book on NetGalley, I was looking for something cliché, already told in lots of movies or other books, and I was not disappointed. It was exactly the way I expected. The book tells a story about Zoe and Rafe. After the loss of their best friends, they found out that they were named guardians of their best friends’ 4 years old twins, and now they need to change their way of life and provide comfort and a safety home for the little boys. The story is a little bit complicated, cuz nobody knows how to handle that kind of news, and the reader starts to think “what I would do if was me?”. I really enjoyed this Jennifer Greene’s book. It was very different than the three others books from her that I read. ...more
