To say this book broke my heart into a million pieces would be an understatement. Clockwork Prince is the kind of book that leaves you staring into space and just thinking about the book until your brain freezes over. This book was amazing! I'll admit: When I first bought this book I was scared to read it. I literally just put it on my table and walked away. I was afraid that it wouldn't live up to the first book and that i would find myself being disappointed in this book. But boy was I wrong. I don't know why I doubted Cassandra Clare for even a minute; she's never disappointed me before and I should have known this book wouldn't be any different.
Clockwork Prince is definitely a book for all Jem fans; he plays a big part in this book and we see him in pretty much every chapter while Will sort of fades into the background. Jem is so sweet, romantic and just down right perfect that it's hard not to fall for him but then Will would show up in the scene and make you question who you like more. Which leads me to:
Love Triangle: Am I the only one who felt like Tessa was being a bit whorish? I love Tessa, I really do and I could see why she would be conflicted between the two(hell, who wouldn't?) but I felt like it was a bit too much how she would kiss Jem one day and swear she was in love with him and then kiss Will the next and then feel she loves him too. But I guess in a way I could understand where she is coming from. In the previous book, Will told Tessa that he could never be with her and pretty much insulted her and in Clockwork Prince Will acts pretty much the same way. And as a result of that Tessa finds herself spending more time with Jem and eventually gets feelings for him. I get it, but I still feel like she's not being fair to either of them.
But if there's one thing Cassandra Clare is good at, it's making you feel every emotion her characters are feeling as if it were really you. Through the whole book Tessa is feeling confused and conflicted about her feelings for Will and Jem and I honestly felt just as confused. My mind and heart were beating Jem, Will, Jem, Will, Jem, Will?
We finally find out Will's past and why he chose to be in the institute instead of his family and why he acts so hurtful to the people he cares about. It wasn't what I was expecting at all but I'm glad we weren't left in the dark about until the last book like most books would do. Along with Will's secret, we always find out more secrets, secret I don't think any of us realized were there until Cassandra pointed them out. I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED! Reading this book was like being in a strangers house: You don't know what to expect at all when you walk through that door. I felt a roll of emotions reading Clockwork Prince; Happiness, confusion, sadness, anger, sadness, oh and did I mention sadness?
Be prepared: You will cry. I did, about 3 times. If you don't cry, well then maybe you should read it again because there's no way you could read this and not have a tear fall from your eyes. The ending is shocking, and leaves you eagerly waiting for the last and final book in the Infernal Devices, Clockwork Princess and I'll probably be thinking about this book for a very long time. I can hardly wait for the next book and I don't know how I will go a whole year waiting for it to come out. Clockwork Prince is a must read that proves that not all sequels turn out bad.
Favorite Quote: “He bent to put his cheek against hers. His breath against her ear made her shudder with each deliberately spoken word. "I have wanted to do this," he said, "every moment of every hour of every day that I have been with you since the day I met you.”

This book was a complete waste of my time and money. There is just too much things wrong with this book but the biggest problem was: I hated the main characters love interest. Thommy was a terrible person, all he cared about was that stupid cave that he found with Eve when they were young. He does many unspeakable things with Eve's mother(HER OWN MOTHER!), her sister and then he wants to swear that he loves Eve. Bull shit. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. Oh and I hate Eve for continually being with him even after he was involved sexually with every female related to her(including her mom). This isn't a love story. This is a sick, twisted, soap opera story that makes me never want to fall in love.(less)

The ending was perfect and I even started to tear up a little when she see Mr. Rochester again. This has got to be one of the most well written books ever! And the story line is original and never gets old, I would definitely read this book again.(less)
