As a whole, I loved it. The situations were entertaining. Plus, Takeru and Kayano were a super cute couple. However, I didn't really like the end. I can't believe(view spoiler)[Takeru was gone for five years! HOLY SHIT! I thought he was going to be gone for two or three, but five is a long time to be in a long distance relationship. I know these types of relationships can work sometimes, but there's a significant strain it puts on the two people. Most of the time a couple can't last a few months, let alone five years (hide spoiler)]. It actually ended happy enough, but if I had it my way, Takeru wouldn't have left in the first place.
Either way, this was still a fun read. It was cool to read this manga and compare it to the taiwanese drama I'd watched. I got to see the similarities and differences, which was interesting. Now, I feel like I should go watch 'Devil Beside You', since reading this got me so pumped up. I need to get me some Mike and Rainie fix haha...["br"]>["br"]>(less)

I can't believe that he'd toss their relationship aside after all they've been through. I understand he needs to retry with his mother to heal his past, but I feel terrible for Kayano. It's not like he's leaving for a month or two. Takeru is going to be gone for a year or maybe two years or more. It's not fair to make her wait for him. In this volume, it was heart-wrenching seeing Kayano dealing with Takeru leaving for Italy. Especially the scenes at the end because they seemed like such a perfect couple, but now Takeru's mom has busted in and ruined everything.
I don't get what's up with this Murokoshi/Ren dude. He is a tad on the strange side. When Kayano first met him, his glasses got busted or something and he asked her if he had a screwdriver on her. WTF, for real?! Cause every normal high school girl carries utility equipment in their bags. Ren just seems kinda creepy to me. They said he falls in love easily, so hopefully he'll get over his crush on Kayano and go leach on someone else.

I'm happy for them because the two of them are able to be free and not hide their feelings. My favorite scene was when Takeru was in bed and he asked Kayano to sit with him. Then the dad walked in later and saw them asleep and holding hands. Gah! That was so adorable!
I hate the mom already. She hasn't really done anything horrible yet, but I'm not liking her. She seemed a bit selfish to want to take Takeru away with her. She can't be away from her kid and then one day waltz back in and try to buddy buddy it. I don't blame Takeru for wanting to distance from her. Also, I don't want Takeru to go with her to Italy. The whole scenario makes me madder at the mom for messing up Takeru and Kayano's relationship. They went through all this angst about secretly dating. Now that everything is finally okay, you'd think that things would be happy, but NO! Since it's a manga, they have to throw in one last conflict before the end. (less)

This is the part of the story in which the big reveal is made. I knew from the way the last one ended (and from the drama) that things weren't going to be all peachy keen. One thing I don't understand is why Kayano ignored it when her mom called on the cell. Sure, it wouldn't solve the problem of her loving her future step-brother, but it would've calmed things down a bit. If she had called and explained what had happened with the visting the graveyard and the storm, the mom wouldn't have jumped to conclusions about the whole 'we visited a hotel' thing. Instead, things quickly escalated, but it was nice to have things out in the open. The dad's reaction was funny because it was exactly what I was thinking...
I for one see no problem with Kayano and Takeru's relationship. Yeah, it sounds a bit icky when you say you're boyfriend is your brother, but it's not like it's by blood. Kayano was so busy trying to think of how to protect her mother's feelings that she wasn't considering how important her relationship with Takeru was. At some point, you should be allowed to be a little selfish. Kayano and Takeru love each other and they shouldn't have to feel bad. You can't help who you fall in love with and they should allowed to be happy.(less)

I liked Kamijou and Haru's date. What a failure haha! I felt bad for Kamijou. He was trying to finally put the moves on Haru and the most ridiculous things kept getting in the way. Also, it was nice to see the Rumi/Takeru arranged marriage thing resolved. I have decided that I like Rumi. She is a sweetheart. A lot of times manga's love rivals keep trying to ruin things until the very last page, but I liked how Rumi stepped down graciously when she found out that Takeru's heart was given to someone else. It made me wish her happiness on whatever she ventures to do.
Takeru and Kayano's relationship developed in this volume and it was cute to see them hanging out together. Since their parents are getting married in a month, the pressure of them becoming step-siblings is becoming a bigger stress. Gahh, I just want them to be happy. I'm super excited to see what happens in the next volume, since I have a very strong hunch that shit is going to hit the fan. Kayano's mom is acting very suspicious and things don't seem like they'll end well. Especially since their parents are heading home and they are trapped because of the storm.(less)

On one hand, I hate her. No matter how unknowingly, she's coming between Takeru and Kayano. She's being way too persistant when it's obvious Takeru doesn't like her. The first time they met, he flat out rejected her, but thanks to a talk with Kayano, she ended up transfering schools and hopes to get Takeru to accept her. I just wanted her to go away and stop causing problems for Kayano. However, another part of me feels bad for her. Takeru has been pretty harsh towards her, though he had good reasons and didn't want to get her hopes up for their arranged marriage. I really really want to fully hate Rumi, but I can't because she seems like such a nice girl. Unlike, some manga's love rivals, Rumi isn't overtly bitchy and she doesn't act cruely to anyone. Part of you can't blame Rumi for upsetting Kayano. Rumi is honestly oblivious that Takeru already has someone he likes. It's not her fault that no one's told her that Takeru has a girlfriend.
It will be interesting to see how things will unfold with this love square haha. I can sympathize with Rumi, but I still dislike Shin. I don't care if he's Kayano's dad's friend/student or whatever. I don't want something to happen between him and Kayano...(less)

I liked that there was more Takeru and Kayano stuff, since the last volume was all about Takeru and Yuzu's troubles. Takeru and Kayano are just soo cute together. I like how he is constantly being mean to her, but you can tell that he's only teasing her and he cares. I liked the whole christmas time part of the manga. It was one of my favorite parts of the taiwanese drama. Though in the drama she knitted mittens instead of a scarf. I must admit, I liked the whole scenario in the drama itself better because it was sweeter. The scarf was good, but I loved seeing Mike accept Rainie's jenked up mittens in the drama better. Anyways, I still loved it. It was horrible how the guys were all mocking about hand-knitted gifts. Kayano was super embarrassed, but Takeru just pretended like it was his all along. Also, I loved later on when they moved in together and Takeru walked in on her changing. So hilarious!!
I'm excited to see where the plot will go next, even though I'm pretty sure that it'll be the exact same as the drama haha. Either way, it will be fun to see the differences with how the manga was translated into a drama. Also, as annoying as it can be, I'm hoping for some drama. From what happened in this volume, I'm fairly sure there is going to be some kind of love square going on haha.
PS: I hate the grandma..Gahh! She's making all these problems for Takeru and Kayano's relationship!(less)

It went in depth with both characters and you learned more about why Yuzu had been creeping around the high school and Kayano. The focus was more on Takeru's past than Takeru and Kayano romance, so that bummed me a little. However, it was nice to learn more about why Takeru is guarded and it will be interesting to see how Kayano can get him to open up.
I liked this volume, but it was a tad boring to me. That's probably on me though. I watched the drama first, so I knew everything that was going to happen and what the twists were. If I hadn't watched the drama, I'd probably be on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what Yuzu's intentions were.(less)

I understand that you should forgive those that hurt you and not hold onto all this hate, but some things are too terrible to get over so quickly. I can't believe she forgave both Rika and Youhei this fast. Rika wanted Kayano to 'disappear' and Youhei tried to make her 'disappear' A.K.A. he tried to kill her. They were just like, 'My bad..' and Kayano was like, 'It's cool. No problem'.
I'm liking how Kayano and Takeru's relationship is developing. They both like each other, but it seems like they're unsure of where to go next. Plus, it doesn't help that the whole step-sibling thing is hovering over them. I think that they are perfect for each other. Kayano is good for Takeru and I think she'll get him to open up more and stop being so cold. I liked when she took care of him when he was sick. He kissed her and was like, 'We'll continue this later...' Haha, the whole exchange was really cute!
As for Yuza, the new guy, he is a douche. If it's the same as the drama, I already know what his deal is, but I don't like him anyway. He's manipulative and a downright creeper. I can't believe he was following Kayano like some kind of stalker.(less)

The artwork doesn't bother me as much this time around since I'm getting used to the lines on the face. Also, thank god for Takeru's hair looking good this time around. I know it sounds shallow, but oh my god, when he spikes his hair up it is downright fugly. Plus, I like Takeru and Kayano together! The scene where he asked her if she was jealous was really cute. Even though I like reading the drama, I kept shouting at the book to have them get together already. When Takeru stuck up for Rika over Kayano, I got so angry! Kayano honestly likes Takeru, but he's believing Rika over her. Then, they said all these mean things that made me go 'NOOO!!'.
I must say that I hate Rika. She legit has mental problems. What an unhealthy obsession she has with Takeru! I can't believe that she'd go so far to get his attention. There is no guy I like enough that I'd pay people to beat me up, JUST so he could save me. The only one worse than Rika is Youhei. Holy shit! I can't believe that he (view spoiler)[tried to kill Kayano just because she made Rika 'upset'. That's not very healthy if you're willing to kill an innocent person for the girl you like (hide spoiler)]. He seemed like a nice guy in the first volume, but in this one, I really disliked him.["br"]>["br"]>(less)

I might be a bit biased though in my opinion. I watched the taiwanese drama of this 'Devil Beside You' a couple of years ago and I fell in love instantly. I suggest anyone who likes this manga should watch the drama. This manga is good, but the drama is like five billion times better! I remember watching fan translations of it online and ended up buying it online for like $50. So worth it! All I have to say is MIKE AND RAINIE <3. I swear I will never fangirl any other pairing but those two. They are soo adorable! Cutest couple ever— just saying. Ok...I'll stop gushing about the drama now haha.
As for the plot I love the random unrealisticness of it. But I'm sure it happens in real life. Falling in love with your brother is kinda icky, but it's step-brother, so it's not like their blood related. The drama really followed the manga plot, scene by scene, so I knew what was going to happen all the time, but it was still highly entertaining. Kamijo or whatever his name is freaked me out. He seemed like a nice guy, but then he kinda turned potential rapist or something and weirded me out. I'm excited for the future volumes if it stays on track with the drama.
I must say though that the art is kinda funky in this. Kayano was cute, but she always had these criss-cross lines on her face. I'm assuming she was blushing or something, but it came off like she'd been bear-mauled or had some type of face scars. When it comes to Takeru, wow. No offense, but he was fugly and pretty depending on the scene. Most of the time, he looked too feminine for me. With the really high spiked hair he looked kinda blehh. BUT when he had his hair down, Takeru was actually pretty cute! Thank god I could just think Mike He whenever his hair was looking mangy haha...(less)
