I really liked the concept of this book, a girl named Caroline who is dealing with a lot in her life; Her grandmother is dying which is devastating because her grandmother is pretty much everything she knows an the fact that Caroline is the black sheep of the family kind of makes her life a little bit harder to deal with. But what if you were able to choose your own fate by simply deciding if you stay by your grandmothers side or Go and have a little fun.
GO: While her grandmother is lying on her death bed. Caroline, who is pressured by her friend decides to take a break from the family drama and just have a night of fun. What Caroline doesn't know is that this decision will change her life forever. I really love this fate for Caroline, even though everything did not go as she wanted it I still think if I were Caroline, I wouldn't have it any other way. Caroline is living with her estranged father who she hasn't seen in a while after her parents divorce. Even though their relationship towards each other is strained, I still like that fact that us readers could watch them grow. I also loved how free spirited Caroline was when she was in this fate, I really enjoyed seeing where this life would take her and you get to meet her love interest Chris in this fate and I am just in LOVE with him!!!!
Stay:While her grandmother is lying on her death bed. Caroline, decides to stay by her grandmas side even if she has to deal with her dysfunctional family. *Sigh* I really had a hard time getting into this story only because of the circumstances, Caroline is living with her mother and sister in which they don't get along at all. She also starts dating her long time crush Joel, WHO I HATEDDDD!!!!! He was such a prick and was so not good for Caroline at all, not to mention all the other drama that comes along with him.
The ending was sweet. I think Caroline got what she wanted in the end and that made the book even more awesome. Overall I loved how real all the characters were, there was never a cheesy kind of moment or romance going on and that's what I really enjoyed about this book. Even though I wanted a little something more out of the ending, it was still cute and refreshing to see how much Caroline grew. It was kind of like we grew together :)
Great coming of age story that I would recommend to anyone! Thanks for reading!

So I actually received this book from the publishing company Bloomsbury, who sent me this book when they ran out of another book I requested. FORGET THE OTHER BOOK!!! I AM SOOO GLAD THEY SENT ME THIS ONE!!! Even though I did not read it right away I did meet the author at BEA and was able to snag a copy of 'Crown Of Midnight' *Squeals* and after she talked a little more about the concept of the book and how it all came about I wanted to read it even more, so when I came back to Austin I pretty much fell into this book and couldn't get out of it it was addicting to the max that is how much I LOVED IT. It had a 'Pride&Prejudice' Jane Austen kind of feel but more bad ass-ery. There was a tad bit of love in this book which I really loved because insta-loves are not exciting and I love the tensions that are building between the characters, I say characters because it is a love triangle but not a crazy one. Anyway, here a run down of all the characters!!
Celaena Sardothien: Has been an Assassin by the age of 3(something like that. Was taken in by the best Assassin in Endovier. After being captured and imprisoned for a few years she is bought to the Crown Prince because he has a proposition for her. The King is looking for a champion and if she kills all the other opponents in the competitions she will be named the Kings champion, the catch is that she has to pretty much be the Kings personal assassin for four years and then she will get her freedom after that. Celaena is by far my FAVORITE character ever. She is just another strong heroine that you can't do anything but love.
Chaol Westfall: Has been the Kings guard and the Princes' friend for years. Is uptight and headstrong about pretty much everything and his job is to guard Celeana now and I he starts to grow a little soft spot for her along the way. I can say I am #TeamChaol for the time being :)
Prince Dorian: The Princes son who is struggling with being in his fathers shadow. He hates his father for the evil things he has done to gain his thrown, but Dorian knows that if he wants to change anything then he has to obey and follow by the rules until it is his turn to claim the throne.
There are some more characters that I really liked but those are the most important ones. All in all I LOVED this book!!! Sarah J Maas is such an AMAZEBALL writer an I cant wait to read more from her :)
My Rating: 4.5 ish, very close to a 5 though...I just wish it had a bit more blood, Yes I am an action&blood whore.
If you haven't read this book you deserve to be assassinated with kindness -READ IT NOW PLEASE!!!!!!!

You guys.......I TOTALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! I really can't explain it, this was one of those kind of books that I will never forget! This book grabbed me from the first and did not let me go till the very last word and I loved every second of it!!! Michelle Pickett did her thing and is an author that other authors should be keeping an eye on because she is coming up strong. Yeah, she is awesome so she will be seeing quite a few of these lol
Anyway, back to the book....PODs is about a sixteen year old girl named Eva, who is chosen to live in you guessed it a POD. An unknown virus has broken out and is killing people that come in contact with it, so the government has come up with a plan to pick people at random to live in a pod in hopes to save the human race but of course with the government there is always a catch that goes left unsaid because only the ages of 12-24(somwhere around there) are the only ones that were chosen to live in the pods, MESSED UP RIGHT?!!?? I sooo could not imagine only one person out of my family being picked and have to live with knowing that the rest of my family will die. I would totally go BAT CRAZY. Yeah, this kind of crazy.
"Only seventy thousand of us will live. Twenty thousand have already been chosen. That leaves fifty thousand openings for the raffle winners. The rest of us will be left to deal with the virus, left to die"
Eva is forced to say goodbye to her family and everything she knows to live with 10 random people for a year. Just when Eva thinks nothing can go right after this she meets David. Even though things are rough living in the pods Eva starts to make friends and experience love for the first time. But when the doors finally open after a year and a half later Eva is forced again to seperate from the only person she has left and has come to love over the past year and live the way the government wants them to live. Eva is determined to find David, but she soon finds out that he has left the government compound to seek out Eva. Will Eva ever find David? An is he infected? You will have to find out JUNE 4th!!
Final thought: Like I said I really enjoyed this book mainly because I connected with the main character. She could hold her own and I really liked that about her :) The only negative thing I could say about it was I wish there were more moments where David and Eva got to know each other more, I feel like there wasn't enough so I do believe David and Eva's relationship was an Insta-love one, Maybe book two ehh??? I also wanted more description on the world after the pods I feel like there should have been more. Other thna that it was soo good :)
