Sophia Bennett's eighteenth birthday is one she'll never forget and one that will change her life forever. The Avalon Relics: Lilith Links By J.L. Clark
Sophia Bennett's eighteenth birthday is one she'll never forget and one that will change her life forever. Sophia's known for her scientific abilities and interests, though she'd like to be popular enough to have one boyfriend, but her high school crush Jake doesn't seem to know she exists except as a sounding board for his newest girlfriend.
Fortunately for Sophia she has her best friend Angie. And Angie is determined that Sophia's eighteenth birthday will be perfect. What starts out as an almost perfect evening (almost because Jake brings his girlfriend) quickly deteriorates when unknown people crash the party with the intent purpose of targeting Sophia.
But before Sophia can take the time to figure out what is happening she is whisked away to somewhere else. But an even bigger concern is why Sophia of all people is being targeted.
What follows is a journey of discovery - a discovery of who she truly is and why the bracelets she received from her mother are so important.
This story will appeal to fans of YA Fantasy. And the bits of romance will also appeal to teen readers.
Overall this book was attention grabbing, so much so that I'm interested to read additional books in this series. There were a couple of times that the I got bogged down in some of scenes - I think it had to do with slow moving detailing and a few tense structure issues (that may have been only in my review copy). But once I immersed myself in the story after any break (or pause in reading) I found myself drawn in, wondering what would happen next.

But to many the thought of America entering another European war is beyond belief. As Mary and Jim work through the clues what was once a childhood acquaintance could become something more.
If you like Historical Fiction with a pinch of Romance you need to pick-up a copy of this book it will be time well spent. Fans of Sarah Sundin's previous books will not be disappointed with the debut book of her newest series. The characters have depth, the passion of their individual beliefs is believably presented, and one has empathy with the varying viewpoints. If you have never read Sarah's work before this would be a perfect book to start with. This is one happy reader who is eagerly anticipating book 2!
This book, though marketed to the adult audience, would be appropriate for teens and would be an excellent choice for a book report (Historical or Realistic fiction) book.

Vanessa Hollister made the "biggest mistake of her life" according to her mother when she eloped with Logan Hollister while a high school senior. Two years later she agreed with that assessment when distance and priorities caused her marriage to dissolve.
It's been eight years since her marriage ended and Vanessa has moved on with her life - she's engaged to a dedicated doctor and planning her wedding. Unlike her first marriage this one is going to be the wedding of her dreams. Unfortunately this wedding is going to take place in Destin, Florida, the place where her memories of Logan are based.

But he hasn't met Skye Foster yet and she just might be the woman to break through his defenses.
Skye can't wait to find the man who is meant for her. She has her life all envisioned and a houseful of kids is on her happily ever after must have. Unfortunately she doesn't have any idea where to find her Mr. Right.
When Skye agrees to help Grant master a couple of dances for his friend's upcoming wedding, she may have gotten more than her feet had bargained for (especially given Grant's ability for stepping on said feet). Grant seems perfect other than his dancing abilities which Skye is determined to perfect. But can any guy be truly perfect?
Can Skye and Grant overcome their biggest differences? Or will their romance end on the dance floor?
If you want a quick read that's short and sweet you will enjoy I Hope You Dance. This would be a fun read to take on a week-end get-a-way if you don't want to do any serious reading. I personally think the romance moves a little fast for my personal tastes, but this is a novella and there are constraints on fleshing out a story because this is, after all, a short story.

The Wonder of You A Christiansen Family novel 5 By Susan May Warren
It's been a month since Roark St. John made his appearance in Deep Haven. But Amelia'The Wonder of You A Christiansen Family novel 5 By Susan May Warren
It's been a month since Roark St. John made his appearance in Deep Haven. But Amelia's big brothers were there to send him packing before Amelia and Roark could speak. Her heart was hurt by what Roark did, but crossing the ocean to see her must mean something. The question is what.
Roark is determined to get a second chance with Amelia. But her big brothers are presenting a problem. And finding a way to stay in Deep Haven and not let the Christiansen clan know before he has a chance to talk to Amelia will take work and help. Fortunately Roark has an inside man who is willing to give him a chance. And he needs a chance to win back the heart of the woman who makes him feel whole. But can Amelia forgive him when she learns the truth of who he truly is?
The Wonder of You is Amelia's journey to becoming the woman she is meant to be. The woman who doesn't rely on her family to make her way. The woman who must determine who she trusts. The woman who must decide to whom her heart belongs - Seth the man who has known her her whole life or Roark the man who sees her for what she could be.
But The Wonder of You is more than just Amelia and Roark's story. This is also Grace and Max's as they work through the issues in their relationship and Max's future looming medical issues. And then there is a young girl who is in need. And the Christiansens being who they are, are determined to help this young hurting soul.
The Wonder of You is another exciting addition to the Christiansen family / Deep Haven world. A world where family and friends are ready to help you and sometimes give you the shove you need to be the person you are meant to be.
If you've read the previous books in the series you will enjoy this latest offering starring the Christiansens. And if you haven't read the previous books you can follow along fairly easily and catch up later - though reading them in order is ideal. And as always the book ends giving you a teaser as to what the next book will be about. And another possible Christiansen family crisis looks to be in the forecast.
What I like best is this series portrays people one can relate to. And small town living in Deep Haven is realistically portrayed (small town resident here). Everyone makes everyone else's life their concern and it is the talk of the town (though they occasionally forget to verify the facts with the main persons concerned in said events). The caring is obvious and appreciated. If you want to experience small town without making the move this is one way to do it.

Katie Fisher is living for her wedding. She's been planning it almost before she could talk or walk. And she's sure as can be that Casey is going to pop the question any minute now. She's so sure that she enters the Texas Bride magazine's contest to win the wedding dress of her dreams.
One problem with her dream wedding - Casey has other plans and they don't involve placing a ring on Katie's finger anytime soon, if ever. What's a girl to do when she gets the dress of her dreams on the very day her dreams are shattered.
Every Bride Needs a Groom is a fun and entertaining story that will keep you waiting to see what happens next. Katie's family is a riot. First there's her grandmother Queenie who won't speak to or about her sister Alva and has a problem with the Presbyterian church but not with Presbyterians (a long story that even Katie doesn't know). Then there is her cousin Lori-Lou who gave Katie the idea to enter the contest in the first place. And Katie's brothers Dewey, Jasper, and Beau just add to the fun.
If you want to have a fun and relaxing week-end read Every Bride Needs a Groom is the perfect book for you and be prepared for a few laughs. And the excerpt from the second book in this series is definitely a teaser that will put book 2 on your TBR (to be read) list.

The Legacy is the concluding book in the Restoration series. This is one family's journey to rediscovering the lives that they should be living as not only a family but as believers. The Legacy focuses on the youngest Anderson son Doug who is now on his own at college.
But Doug is living two lives - one that his family thinks he's living and the one he's living at college. But living in two worlds isn't possible for long and Doug is about to discover this all to suddenly when an incident brings his two worlds into contact. Will this be the catalyst that finally drives a wedge into the family that can't be breached? Or will this be the dose of reality that will help Doug find his way home?
The Legacy is a powerful lesson in the pain in loving a child who is determined to do it their own way, no matter the cost. As Jim and Marilyn struggle with dealing with Doug's situation they find themselves reaching out again for advice from Uncle Henry and Aunt Myra.
Still dealing from Jim's years of inattentive parenting, Doug seems to be the last unresolved situation and learning to deal with it in a way that doesn't drive him further away offers hope to other families going through a similar situation. All to often we try to force those we care about to change - to become who we know they should be, but in the process we actually hinder them by further driving them away. The prodigal son is an interesting theme that runs throughout this story in a couple of unique ways.
This is a powerful conclusion to a moving and thoughtfully written series. Though I'm sure each could be read individually to get the full impact and powerful message the series should be read in order.

Sarah Miller's life seems to finally be in a place where everything is looking up. She's recently reconnected with her sister Hannah and Cicely, the niece she didn't know she had. But tragedy is again to make its presence known is her life when Hannah is murdered.
But even more disturbing is the similarities between Hannah's murder and that of her parents more than ten years ago. The Kansas City police don't see the similarities or a possible connection, but Sarah's determined to find the truth and get justice for her sister.
With the support of Janet Dowell and local Deputy Sheriff Paul Gleason, Sarah begins looking into Hannah's life as well as that of her parents. Meanwhile she is dealing with her own grief while trying to help Cicely work through her own.
But someone seems determined to thwart Sarah's efforts. Is the killer determined to keep her from discovering the truth? Or is it merely coincidence that her investigation keeps being blocked? The Deadly Echoes of the past make her doubt coincidence, but can she prove it before more lives are lost?
One can't say that a book in which lives are lost to murder is delightful, but this is an excellently written book in which the facets of grief are explored. And there is hope. Hope for justice, hope for healing, and hope for the future. The various character are well developed and there are complexities that add layers that are revealed as the story develops. Overall I would recommend this book to fans of clean romantic suspense and mysteries.

Lady Rosemarie Montfort is but a month away before she is to enter the convent for the rest of her life when a friend of her father offers her another option. If she can find true love and marry by the eve of her eighteenth birthday she will be exempted from the vow made by her parents. But for the last four years Rosemarie has been preparing for this life. Can she put aside what she viewed as her certain future for an uncertain one? One that depends on finding a true love in mere days?
But whose leading should she follow at this late date Abbot Francis Michael or the Duke of Rivenshire? What would her parents want?
Determining that she must be open to all options both for herself and for the good of her people Rosemarie accepts the Duke's challenge to see if she can find love from amongst the three knights he feels the most noble and loyal in the land. Sir Bennett Windsor, Sir Collin Goodrich, and Sir Derrick Harding are the three chosen as being worthy of Rosemarie's hand, but only she can determine if one has captured her heart and is her true love.
But someone seems determined to stop this challenge and the question is why. Why would seemingly random attacks take place against those vying for her hand and her heart? Is one of the knights not as honourable as the Duke believes? Or is there another threat within her lands?
This is a lovely book, one you won't mind sharing with both friends and family. Set during the mid-fourteenth century this is perfect story in which nobility and chivalry are valued. But it is the inner qualities that are the most highly honoured when Rosemarie makes the choice that will determine her future.
An Uncertain Choice is written for the YA audience and this is a lovely offering. Tweens and teens won't leave this book with feelings of depression because the world is ending in a cataclysm. Suicide isn't a major character in this book. This is a book with a message of hope that will leave you with a smile on your face.

Chivalry makes a comeback
Clay Walsh has made a vow to be a changed man. He no longer wants to be the man that he was, even if it means isolating himself away. He wants to treat women with the respect they deserve. Clay's ideals are the source of ridicule in the town in which he lives. His theories on love and romance are odd and outdated, but he has been living by them for nine years. He has yet to meet the woman who understands his views.
But when Amber Hewson arrives in town his theories are about to be tested. Something about Amber draws him and terrifies him at the same time. Amber senses something about Clay is different though she's not sure what it is exactly. But when her apartment needs a repair she learns quickly what about Clay is different - he won't do the needed repair and be alone with her in the apartment. His "rules" confuse and intrigue her, but how do you get to know another person when you don't know the rules?
This is a book that I highly recommend - the values Clay lives by are in fact ones that I was taught from a young age and men and women who live by these standards are hard to find today. Pressure to conform to the lax morals of today comes from all sides and it is hard to stand for what one believes as evidenced by the ridicule Clay faces (even from friends).
I think my favorite line comes from Betty - "You know, marriage is kind of like a tea bag. You don't know how strong it really is till you get it in some boiling water. And the water don't boil till you're over the heat, and the heat don't come till you say, 'I do.'"

Juliet Ryan is an up-and-coming star in her field. Quality assurance is the promise of product safety and Juliet is determined that her company will never be one of those companies that let's consumer safety fall to the god of corporate profit.
But in the midst of personal tragedy, Juliet finds her personal and professional life spiraling out of her control when a deadly bacterial outbreak occurs. As everyone scrambles to locate the source, tensions rise throughout the city as the victims multiply.
Where Rivers Part is contemporary fiction at its best with a timely and meaningful story. Drawing on true events Kellie weaves a powerful story that may be the best she has written to date.
The dollar is the driving force in business all too often, resulting in short cuts that in the long run are much more costly in the end. Lives lost or debilitated are one of the potential costs.
There is a second story that runs throughout and that is Juliet's relationship with her father. For years Juliet has been holding onto the hurt she carries, allowing it to fester. As a result time to together seems inconceivable. But sometimes the wolf in sheep's clothing is the easiest enemy to spot, rather than the one before us. Trust is something that needs to be earned, but forgiveness is a gift that we can give.
Where Rivers Part is a book that has wide appeal and if you are unfamiliar with Kellie Coates Gilbert's work would be an excellent introduction to her writing. And before you ask, No you don't need to read the previous Texas Gold novel to enjoy this book. These books can stand-alone. The characters are well developed and the story is easy to read and follow (even if you haven't read the previous titles in the series). Last Chance is a tight-knit community that is like an extended family. They know your faults and they love you in-spite of yourself. This isn't a quick and simple happy solution book, but it will leave you satisfied as the characters all deal with situations that will make them grow as people. I have to say that Elizabeth has to be my favorite character throughout the series and I would love to join her for a cup of tea.

I'll be perfectly honest when I got this book I had a hard time getting into it. It wasn't the book - it was me. So I put the book aside for a bit of time and read other books that I needed to review. I then picked up Forever Amish this last weekend and had no trouble getting lost between the covers.
I have not read the first two books in this trilogy, but I don't think that is necessary as the story is Sally Bingham's and she is new to the series too. So seeing everything through her eyes is as new to me as it is to her.
Sally has been lured to Lancaster County by a young woman Lizzie Zook who is seeking to purchase a dog. But when Sally arrives she is shocked to discover that Lizzie isn't quite how she pictured her. Lizzie is Amish and her father is a no-nonsense type who won't have a dog in his house.
But the really reason behind Lizzie's motives does not become immediately obvious. And when the truth comes out Sally's entire world is rocked to its core. As Sally struggles with rediscovering who she is, Lizzie is going through her own struggles as she to tries to determine what path her life will take.
The root story of Forever Amish seems to be family and the love and support that they can offer us.

Casper just can't stop thinking about the woman he left behind - the woman who broke his heart. But Raina has a secret that just may totally destroy what little feelings Casper has left for her - she's expecting a baby and soon. But the biggest blow is when Casper learns who is the father of Raina's baby.
But this time instead of running off in search of lost treasure Casper returns to Deep Haven determined to be someone that can be counted on. But old feelings die hard and Casper still is seeking his worth. A worth that he feels will forever be as hidden as the treasure that he seeks.
But trying to forget Raina seems impossible especially when she somehow ends up in Deep Haven too. But Raina has told Casper that she wants nothing to do with him, even before Eden's wedding and the fight with Owen that tore their family apart. But Casper can't stand to see Raina hurting and he's worried she might be hurt again.
Meanwhile the family's resort is still struggling to recover after the fire that nearly destroyed it. But Darek is struggling to save the resort at the cost of his family. But he can't let go and allow Casper to shoulder part of the load - after all Casper isn't dependable, always off seeking treasure.
Like most families the Christiansens are struggling. Fearing that they won't measure up to their own expectations or those they think other have, they often overlook the offer of help from family. Raina feels as if she is outside looking in wanting the very thing that the Christiansens have - family to love and support you even when you stumble. And she is sure that the choice she made will forever keep her on the outside.
Adding to the the skill with which Susan May Warren crafts this story is a mystery of old - a mystery which sparked Casper's fascination with treasure. And the time may be right for Casper to finally find the treasure which he has sought. The only question is is it a treasure of the heart or one of worldly worth...
If you have read the previous Christiansen Family novels and novellas you won't be disappointed and you'll be eagerly anticipating book 5 The Wonder of You (summer 2015) which seems to be hinted at in the epilogue of Always on My Mind.

Culpepper, Georgia, seemed like the perfect Southern town. And for Joe Boyd the perfect place to live away from the crimeWhen Night Comes By Dan Walsh
Culpepper, Georgia, seemed like the perfect Southern town. And for Joe Boyd the perfect place to live away from the crime scenes of Pittsburgh. But he may have misjudged this quiet college town when he gets a call about a dead body.
But when special guest lecturer Jack Turner starts having experiences at night they seem more real than his normal day-to-day life. But why did these occurrences start once he returned to Culpepper? With the help of Rachel Cook, a young teaching assistant from his past, Jack is determined to find answers. But the answers just may cost them their lives if their not careful because someone is watching.
Dan Walsh has a way with words as can be readily noticed with the following few sentences: The look on the decedent’s face sent a chill through Boyd. Few things could. He’d seen a lot of dead people over the years, but he couldn’t recall ever seeing anything quite like this.
When Night Comes be afraid to fall asleep - it could be the last thing you ever do - especially if you dream! This is suspense at its best and you don't want to miss out on it.

Three years ago Kate Marshall lost her husband in a boating accident and her young son's body was never foundDeceived Private Justice #3 By Irene Hannon
Three years ago Kate Marshall lost her husband in a boating accident and her young son's body was never found. Rebuilding her life has brought Kate to St. Louis. When a chance encounter in a mall makes her doubt her son's assumed death, Kate has no where to turn except Phoenix Inc.
But can these investigators prove whether or not that a glimpse of a child seen at a St. Louis mall is the son Kate thought she had lost in New York? Kate needs answers and Connor Sullivan is determined to help her find them.
First up finding proof that the child Kate thought she had glimpsed is not just a figment of her imagination...
Deceived is the final book in Irene Hannon's Private Justice series and Connor Sullivan is the Phoenix investigator who takes center stage in this book. And of course being a character of interest means its time for Connor to take an interest in a client who once the case is resolved may just be more than a former client.
Cases have a way of taking a dangerous turn and Deceived is right on track if you like your books with a dash of danger mixed with a touch of romance. Irene's characters make you care about them and they aren't perfect. They are flawed and know it and they are determined to work through these flaws.
This is a great escape book if you just want to take a break from the day-to-day stresses of work or if you just want a relaxing book to read over your week-end. There is nothing quite like a suspense over the week-end to keep you up late into the night. As an added bonus there is a sneak peek at Irene's new upcoming series Men of Valor ~ Buried Secrets.

Cassia Pappas andA Bouquet of Love Weddings by Design volume 4 By Janice Thompson
A Bouquet of Love is the fourth book in the Weddings by Design series.
Cassia Pappas and the majority of the Pappas family have just moved to Galveston from Santa Cruz, California, to open a Gyro shop. But as they say the best made plans of mice and men soon go awry and Cassia's father choice location is across the street from Parma John's.
Parma John's means that the Rossi family and the Pappas family are about to go to war for Parma John's costumers. Of course the Rossi family has no idea about the whole war over customers thing that is brewing across the street.
Cassia meanwhile has a dream that doesn't include throwing sandwiches together for the rest of her life - she wants to open her own flower-shop, creating arrangements and getting lost in the heavenly scent of said flowers. But with a father who can't see past his own dreams how is her going to come true?
With the help of Bella Neeley (who is with the enemy as she is married into the Rossi family) Cassia just might might see her dream come true. And there just might be a romance in her future too. And Alex Rigas from the local nursery just could be Cassia's at first sight guy.
A Bouquet of Love brings all your favorite Wedding by Design characters back for more romance and family troubles. Not everyone loves the Rossi family and a feud is brewing on the horizon unless Cassia and her new friends can show her father that Galveston can support both businesses.
This is an enjoyable delight to read and I love Cassia's choice in songs to hum and the trolleys just suit the whole Meet Me in St Louis movie reference that is found throughout. If you love light-hearted reading with happy endings you won't be disappointed.
