One of my FAVORITE YA Authors is at it again with another fabulous summer romance. Such a Rush has the recipe for a beautiful teen romance: broody, handsome hero, golden boy brother and beautiful, dare devil heroine stuck in the middle.
I was very unsure that I was going to enjoy the newest release from Jennifer Echols, but if her name is on the cover, I am going to read it, and I am SO glad that I did. Such a Rush, which takes place in Heaven, South Carolina, actually mentions Wilmington, North Carolina, where I happen to live, which I thought was SOOOOO cool. It's fun when you are reading a book and you are actually so aware of the location because you have been there. I could see the airstrips, the trailer park, the beach bars and the vacationers.
Leah Jones is a girl with a dream and the one person who ever cared to help her dream become a reality was Mr. Hall, but now Mr. Hall is gone, and Leah is asked to work for his two son's, Grayson and Alec, who are trying to keep the banner business alive. Grayson, the trouble-maker, has held Leah's interest since the day she first saw him five years ago, but has never given her more of a nod of acknowledgement in all of these years. Now Grayson needs her to fly for him and he is blackmailing her into not just working for him, but into faking interest in his brother. Let's just say that A LOT can happen in a week, and when secrets are revealed, will Leah lose her dream and her heart? I'm not telling..hee hee
Add Such a Rush to the AWESOME pile ladies...Jennifer Echols does not disappoint!! This book was fun, fast-paced, and exciting. My heart pounded like a teenage girl when the school bad-boy looked my way!! As each secret is revealed, we are able to start piecing the puzzle together, until we find out the truth behind Grayson's blackmailing scheme, and how he really feels about Leah....swoon!!
Another killer YA summer romance. Read it yourself or recommend it to your daughter, niece, sister or cousin...or any girl that loves a romance with a very handsome bad-boy!! Such a Rush is highly recommended and I thank Jennifer Echols for giving me the chance to read it!!
While photographing the Assassins Hockey Team for their publicity shoot, Elli Fisher finally meets Shea Adler face to face, since she has been his biggest fan from afar for years. He is struck by her beauty and tells her so, but Elli being insecure about her newly, filled out figure, she doesn't think anything of it.
Until Shea has his sister, and party planner, Grace, hire Elli to take pictures at his Team Party, and from then on the two are inseparable. Well, except for her insecurities, which always seems to be between them and prevents her from moving forward with the physical parts of their relationship. As you keep reading, you learn why Elli is so hung up on her physical appearance.
Shea Adler, is your classic Hockey hottie, but her grows to care for Elli, but he can never do enough to prove that he wants to be with her and ONLY her. He is being punished for her past and he tells her the same. I won't give away the ending, but these two have MANY issues to overcome before they will make it.
I will say I LIKED this book. I won't say I LOVED IT, because anyone who reads this blog knows that I don't throw that word around a lot. I have two occasions when that word is used, either I have sat up all night long until the book is finished because I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN, or I have bawled my eyes out so bad that I have to stop reading because I can't see the words through the tears.
It's not that I found Elli annoying, or whiney....I just thought she needed to get over it....In the nicest way possible. I felt like Harper, her best friend, trying to tell her she was beautiful and to believe that this wonderful guy ACTUALLY DID like her, or was even falling in LOVE with her. I understood where Elli was coming from, but I wanted to smack her in the head so she would stop being so stupid when it came to Shea. He loved her, and he was trying to prove it with all he had, but she was just so stuck in the past.
Aside from wanting to smack her, I really liked Elli. She is just the kind of girl that I would have been friends with. She was a hard worker and she loved what she did, without using her families money to get by. She liked a good beer after a long day and she loved sports. How can you not want to be friends with her.
Shea Adler was adorable and frustrated and falling for a girl who he couldn't fully have until she would believe his words of adoration, and that can be difficult, but Shea handled it like a TRUE HERO, and he just kept reassuring her about how he felt, and for that, he gets a GOLD STAR for GREAT HERO from me.
I have to say that I really enjoyed the secondary romance between Harper and Jakob, another assassins player and Shea's best friend. I think I actually would have like to see a bit more of their relationship.
All in all, I really LIKED Taking Shots. I will DEFINITELY be reading the next book in the series, Trying to Score, which is coming this spring. And I will be keeping my eye out for more book by Toni Aleo, she is one to watch!! (less)

Detective Allison Doyle, who you will recognize from Snapped, is caught in the middle of a robbery when she is helped by FBI Profiler, Mark Wolfe....and the sparks fly from there. Mark is a no-nonsense kind of agent who is in town working a serial murder case, that may or may not be connected to a recent homicide in the small-town of San Marcos.
Unfortunately for Mark, when Allison gets on a case, or bullies her way onto a case, she does not back down, even if it mean putting herself in danger. She tends to get under Mark's skin in more than one way, but he knows that a relationship, even a one night stand, is a bad idea. He is a workaholic and a relationship with a woman sixteen years his junior is not what he is looking for, but stubborn Allison is not backing down on the case or on Mark.
"I don't want to watch him look at you!" he boomed, and she jerked back. "I don't want him seeing you! Thinking about you! I don't want him goddamn smelling you, all right? He's a piece of shit and you don't belong in the same room with him!"
OH BABY....Not only was I caught up in the Twists and Turns the case was taking, but the chemistry sizzling between Allison and Mark from the second they laid eyes on each other. I was hung up on every word, every look, every move these two made. It was like watching an intense chess game where you are awaiting the next move. I LOVED IT!! And Kelsey had it right when she said that Mark was "intense" and it was in everything he did, even the way he looked at Allison sometimes...I just wanted things to work out between them so bad.
And...we get the low down on WHAT HAPPENED WITH GAGE AND KELSEY...well...we will have to wait until Burned is released to read the full story, but we do get a little snip it of information which has me on my toes in anticipation for the next Tracers book.
If you are a Laura Griffin fan and are a Tracers Fan then I don't have to tell you to get this book, but if you have not yet read a Laura Griffin Romance Suspense, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? I would even start as far back as Thread of Fear to where we get to meet Nathan Devereaux for the first time, who is the hero of the first Tracers Book, Untraceable, and you get to meet Jack and Fiona, who are by far on of my FAVORITE literary couples. So there are SO MANY good reason to pick up a Laura Griffin Romance and I hope you will take my advice!! (less)

Those sparks start a fire that burns hot and fast. But like all fires, the aftermath is never pretty.
There are YA books that hit on edgy issues such as, sex, bulimia, teen pregnancy, death of parents, finding out you are not who you thought you were, rape and parental stress to succeed....This book had ALL of these things, it was A LOT to take for just one young girl. Some of the issues could have been drawn out more, and some could have been taken out all together. NOT to say that PJ Sharon didn't do an AMAZING job at making all these issues not just believable, but they WORKED!
For me, as a reader, it was a bit much. As a fellow writer, it was a bit much. There were some unnecessary secondary characters that could have been taken out, and I would have suggested taking out one or two of the conflict issues, maybe drawing out some of the main issues a bit longer. I felt as if the conflict was piled on and forced on the reader.
But as I said, PJ Sharon did an amazing job at making ALL THE CHAOS work. There was some "God" talk, which doesn't bother me in the least, but this is coming from a 13-yr Catholic School Veteran. In my opinion, if I was dealing with all of the things Penny was dealing with, I'd be praying too!!
As for the main characters, Penny was your average girl, I didn't really get too much more out of her, but I liked her. But I think because there was so many issues going on at the same time, we couldn't really get a good read on her feelings about just one thing, or how she would react in just one situation.
As for our Hero, Carter McCray....well....he freaked out after he found out Penny lied to him, then proceeds to do something that didn't fit his character. I thought he was a smart and handsome boy, but I thought he should have tried a little harder. I don't want to give anything away, so I can't explain his reactions to different issues going on, but again, I think there was too much going on with Penny, that everything else just got lost in the shuffle.
Funny thing is, aside from all the craziness, I liked the book. I wasn't sure where it was going, but I liked it. I'd say give it a chance, or if you have an OLDER YA, have them read it. This book touches on many issues that any Young Adult might face, and PJ Sharon "writes" great advice/options to all teens facing these issues.
I will give Ms. Sharon props for mentioning Author, Kristan Higgins in this book!! (less)

I laughed out loud a few times while reading this book, my dogs were looking at me like I was crazy.
I enjoyed the way the storyline panned out, and I have to say, I had NO IDEA what was going to happen in the end. That is what I liked best about this book, it was unpredictable. I find that to be one of the most important things while reading a new book. I don't want to "know" what is going to happen, I want to be surprised, or even taken for a loop, and that is what happened with Do or Di.
Erin Callighan just wanted to meet a GREAT guy, but yet, it just wasn't happening. Then when it finally does, OH BOY.....didn't see that coming. Jonathan, that weasel-jerk.....I DID NOT like him AT ALL!! Any woman who has ever dated a man that was "off-limits" will understand Erin's dilemma and will be hoping that she regains some sort of "sense" before she gets in too deep. This was where Diana came in.
I think my favorite character, aside from Colin, was Diana. She was the young girl that Erin was supposed to be mentoring, but Diana ended up being more of a "mentor" to Erin. I especially loved when she would start in on Erin's choice of clothing...I was cracking up!
Do or Di is more of a Chick-lit, than a romance, but it was enjoyable, and sometimes you just want to read a book that will make you laugh! (less)
Secrets, Lies and Betrayals....and that's just the first hundred pages.
In TRYING TO SCORE by Toni Aleo, we meet single mother, Fallon Parker, who is trying to take the Family Wine Business to the next level, by having wine sold at the Hockey Arena. Unfortunately for her, she has come face to face with the new player for the Nashville Assassins, Lucas Brooks, the man who "broke her" eight years ago, and she hasn't seen since.
Lucas Brooks is finally fully recovered from his addictions and he is ready to make a new start with the Assassins. When he sees Fallon Parker again, he knows this is the second chance that he has been waiting for, and he does ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to try and get her back in his life, if only she would let him within five feet of her.
TRYING TO SCORE was a more enjoyable read than TAKING SHOTS, at least for me. I love a good "secret baby" story and the fact that he did the unthinkable while they were dating, well...that just made it all the better. I will say that there was a few scenes that could have been removed to make the book shorter, and it still would have been great. Some things can be said without reiterating it again and again, so I could have done with a little less of the same thing.
Aside from wanting to smack Lucas when he first meets Fallon...and I think you will all agree he needed a slap across his face for that dirty mouth...I did begin to like him as I kept reading and I think I may have even fallen for him by the end. He became a real man, one that would take care of his family, even Audrey. I think I might have liked him a little more if he wouldn't have had such a dirty mouth in the beginning. I mean if you are trying to win back a lady because she was the love of your life, I don't think I'd be talking about sexual positions.
As for her parents and his mother...I didn't really like any of them as secondary characters, and when it comes to Aiden's birthday party and Lucas' mother has a "talk" with Fallon...I think I'd of knocked her out for what she said. It was a bit much and it really made me not like her as a secondary character. Fallon's father was just an asshole, but we expect that since we learn about him in the beginning of the book. And Lucas' best friend, Levi, what a DOUCHE....excuse my french, but really...there is NO OTHER WORD to describe him, but douche. As for Audrey, I really liked her and I hope that she finds her HEA in EMPTY NET. I liked that Audrey told Fallon when she was being a complete Bitch and that she should let go of the past and see Lucas for who he is now.
As I said, I did enjoy reading this second-chance romance, and I was hoping that the two of them out end up together. I would definitely recommend you give this author a chance and pick up both of the books in this series, but if you have to buy one, go for TRYING TO SCORE....you will be happy you picked it up. I usually don't enjoy short, quicky romances because I feel some authors don't give me enough to convince me that the Hero and Heroine have made any kind of connection, or they rush the end, so that we are left wondering, "But What??".
That is SO not the case with The Best Mistake, the new release from Linda Kage. As she mentioned in the earlier interview that she is reminded of a Romantic Comedy with this book, and I really could see this myself.
The heroine is completely likable from page one, I found myself cracking up because we have all been in her shoes. And then when she meet the Hero.....I absolutely adored the way they meet and what happens after that. It was like being swept up in a fairytale. I wanted to know what would happen between these two, and when the "thing" between them would come out, and what would happen when it did. I may have even cried a bit, and for a short story to make me cry...well that just doesn't happen.
And our Hero, Cole Harrety....can I say...Yes Please!!
So after six months of unanswered phone calls, Rachel Flores finally shows up with an interesting story and the only person she trusts to help her is the same man who she was trying to forget.
Pararescueman, Liam McCabe knows Rachel wouldn't come to him if she wasn't in serious trouble and he plans to find out who is trying to keep her quiet.
I think Hot Zone is still my favorite of the three books, but Under Fire gives it a run for its money. Not only do we FINALLY get to see what has happened since Liam and Rachel met in the Bahamas six months ago, but we get a secondary romance between a retired military policeman, Brandon and Catriona, the woman who has been in love with him from afar. I truly enjoyed watching each couple deal with their individual struggles as they try to stay alive while trying to distinguish the enemies from the good guys.
The best part about this book was our hero, Liam. His psycho-babble had me cracking up at times and then crushing my heart in others. I think he might always hold a piece of my heart, for the little boy who just wanted to find true love and have a family. I was cheering for Liam and Rachel through page after page of danger and suspense...it was quite frustrating. Thank God for Cuervo...and I am NOT talking about Tequilla.
The fact that Catherine Mann wrote Rachel as a owner of rescue dogs, as well as Catriona, made it all the more special to me. As the momma of two beautiful rescue dogs, its always makes my heart feel good when I read about other wonderful pups getting a second chance at life. Another reason that Under Fire will stay with me, and that's saying a lot.
For anyone who fell in love with Liam in Hot Zone, you will need to read Under Fire. I didn't think he would pull me in like he did, all that charm and heroism...definitely worth the read, and I wouldn't mind if Catherine keeps going with this series, I think there are a few more handsome heroes that I wouldn't mind watching crumble under the "Elite Force" of a strong woman.

Fool for Love has most of the things I enjoy most in my romances, a broken-hearted heroine, a over-bearing hero, a crazy cast of secondary characters and decedent desserts, how can you go wrong?
A broken-hearted, Chloe Madison comes to Sugar Creek after taking a companion/cook position with Daisy Monroe, a senior member of the Cupcake Lovers and Grandmother of Devlin Monroe, our strikingly handsome, over-bearing, bossy-pants hero. As the oldest child in the Monroe family, Dev feels the responsibility of caring for his family, especially his Gran, who has a mile long wild streak. Devlin doesn't trust Chloe and he isn't shy about her knowing it, but the truth is that as much as he doesn't trust her, he also wants to take off all her clothes and spend a few hours, or days, alone with her until his lust is sated. This could be a problem.
Chloe has been dealing with controlling men all of her life, from her father to her last cheating boyfriend, Ryan. So when it comes to Devlin Monroe, she isn't going to be a pushover, even if his kisses make her girly parts all tingly. Between trying to keep Daisy out of trouble, keeping Dev off her pa-tooty, and trying to help the Cupcake lovers out-smart their current president, Chloe has her hands full, and falling in love with Dev is something she is trying to avoid.
Chloe and Dev have the kind of chemistry that will keep you turning page after page just to see what will happen next.
We also get a sneak peak of what is to come in the cupcake lovers series. We have Rocky, Dev's sister and two men who could steal her heart, then we have sexy, little brother Luke and womanizing, cousin Nash, who could have their own romances coming. I can't wait to find out who is next to fall in love in Sugar Creek.
I would definitely recommend Fool for Love to anyone who loves a sweet, small town romance. If you enjoyed Hope Ramsay's Last Chance series, you will love Fool for Love.

Kyle and Marissa reminded me a lot of Luc and Jane, who are my favorite Hero and Heroine of the series.
Marissa Collins needs to get her matchmaking business off the ground, if she wants to keep the home that might help with her mother's rehabilitation after an accident that caused her serious brain damage. She needs to make a match between Kyle Murphy, the best shot on the Philadelphia Phantoms, and rich, socialite, Stacy Goodwell. Unfortunately for Marissa, the moment she meets Kyle Murphy the last thing she is thinking about is matching him with someone else.
Kyle Murphy has always had one rule, No Women In Playoff Season, but for some reason, Marissa Collins has his head in the clouds and not focused on the game he needs to be playing. What can he do but make an exception with this woman that he can't stop thinking about. He just has to convince her that being with him is the right thing for her also, even if it means having to give up the biggest MATCH of her career.
I love watching a big, strong Hockey Player brought to his knees, which is one of the best things about this quick, fun read, and the small, secondary romance between an unlikely pair.
The chemistry between Marissa and Kyle was undeniable and I think Joanne did an amazing job with showing the progression of their feelings for each other, without making if feel rushed.
And for me to compare ANY book to my absolute FAVORITE, that is a high compliment in itself. I know you will enjoy this read if you like a smoking, hot sports romance, and If you enjoy this book, you will have to put Her Man Advantage on you TBR List, which is Joanne's Upcoming release staring Axel, the sexy adopted brother of Kyle Murphy which you will meet and fall in love with in One Man Rush. I enjoyed the budding romance between Jiline and Herrick, but I think it was the magic that occurred between the Unicorns and Jiline that had me turning the pages.
The storyline was amazing and I was mesmerized by what actually went into becoming a Unicorn Keeper. I was cheering for Jiline throughout the whole book. I wanted her to find her magic and believe that she held more power than even she believed she did. With the help of Herrick, I think she will eventually find it...hummm...Can't wait for that sequel!!
The way Angelia created a whole different world within the four walls of the keep was such an amazing concept. I think being a Unicorn keeper would be awesome, harder work than it might seem, but still awesome.
The character who stole my heart was definitely Herrick. His draw to Madelen/Jiline was heartbreaking, since he didn't know if she felt the same for him. The part of the book when Jiline was working with Eli we got to see Herrick knocked down a bit, almost as if he never had felt jealous before. So cute!! He was just a wonderful hero, and I am in his cheering corner all the way.
If you are looking to fall away into another world for a little while, pick up a copy of Unicorn Keep, and then share it with the young adult in your life. You will both fall in love!! (less)

This time, Axel Rankin is having a hard time keeping his eyes and hands off of the fiery, red-head director, Jennifer Hunter, who is supposed to be documenting the team as they enter the playoffs. He needs to keep her camera's out of his past and out of his business, but her in his bed.
I really enjoyed Axel and Jennifer's story, not more than One Man Rush, but just as much. I really hope Joanne plans to write more of the Phantoms Hockey Team, I know I would enjoy reading about more Hockey Hunks.
Axel was the type of her that you can't help but fall in love with. He knows what he wants and works hard to get there. He had a rough childhood but overcame with the help of the Murphy family who took him in as a teen. I can't help but feel for a little boy who got mixed-up with some very dangerous people and now has the need to protect his "family" from any harm that can be done to them now.
I think some of my favorite heroines are Fiery Red-heads, Annabelle Granger from Match Me If You Can and Samantha Holland from Fatal Affair, just like Jennifer, they fight for what's right and are sometimes bull-headed when it comes to getting what they want, they will stop at nothing to get it. Jennifer has all those qualities and more, but she uses them for good or to help the underdog, even when they haven't asked for her help. She is a riot and with her and Axel together, you can only get sparks that FLY!!!
The small secondary romance between Chelsea and Vinny was freaking adorable and I wished we got just a bit more of them, but it was still enough to have me wishing I had a Vinny all for my own.
Joanne gives us another kick-ass romance with Her Man Advantage and I definitely recommend this to all of my Hockey-Lovin Readers. I just hope Joanne will give us more of the Phantoms in the future!! (less)

I enjoyed the storyline, and you can't help but put yourself in Julie's shoes when she flees New York and heads home to clear her head in Clearwater.
The instant chemistry between Mark and Julie is as hot as the chili cooking on the stove. Not only is Julie trying to keep her hormones in check, but Mark has a secret he is hiding and he is conflicted about starting anything with Julie, especially with her begin pregnant with another man's baby.
Mark was so much more than a "REAL MAN" and I absolutely loved him. Julie had a hard decision to make and I won't say that I agreed with her every step of the way, but she makes up for it in the end.
I do hope that Lacey plans to revisit Clearwater, Wyoming again. I would not only love to see Julie and Mark again, but I would love to see Chloe and a few other secondary characters find their special someone!! (less)

Laura writes one of the BEST Romance Suspense Series on the Market and I HIGHLY recommend starting the series now, that way you will be ready for SCORCHED at the end of this month.
SCORCHED centers around Kelsey Quinn and Gage Brewer, who you would have met if you read UNSTOPPABLE, the novella where their relationship first began. I for one, was so psyched when I found out that SCORCHED was going to be about Kelsey and Gage, and I will be honest, I think Kelsey and Gage are my new Favorite Tracer Couple, well...ok....I'll put them in a tie with Alex and Nathan...but Kelsey and Gage...boy did they put my heart in knots.
"It can be anything?" His voice was low and dangerous as he searched her face.
"Anything." He kissed her on the mouth and her skin started to tingle. "Any fantasy at all?" "Yes," she whispered.
He leaned down and his breath was warm against her ear. "Give us another chance."
SERIOUSLY...did your heart not just SWOON...I could just read this book over and over again and still never get sick of Kelsey and Gage. Between Kelsey trying to stay alive, keeping her heart out of the equation and Gage trying to be her white-knight while breaking down the walls that she is trying to build, it makes for one emotional romance, with a wild ride suspense plot that will have you saying, "OMG!"
Laura Griffin captivates me EVERY SINGLE TIME with her imaginative story lines and amazingly descriptive scenes that put you right in the middle of the action. I simply LOVE what she does!!
Maybe thirty or so pages into this book, I actually had to email Laura and ask her if we would be seeing two of the secondary characters again, and if they would have their own romance, because I was not only taken by what was happening between Kelsey and Gage, but I wanted to know where the flirty banter between Gage's friend, Derek Vaughn and Agent Elizabeth LeBlanc would be going, and I needed to make sure that we would see them again.
SCORCHED kicks major butt. If you are looking for a thrilling suspense that will keep you reading late into the night, and a romance that burns up the sheets, then pre-order your copy of SCORCHED today!! Definitely one of The Best Romances of 2012.

Empty Net is another fun, sexy, slightly tragic romance where we find two lovers battling for a chance at true love.
I enjoyed the romance between Audrey and Tate, even through sometimes I wanted to smack Audrey for being such a push-over when it came to dating horrible men. But like your own girlfriends...you can only tell them so many times until they have to make up their own minds about the men they are dating. That's who Audrey felt like, one of my girlfriends who kept dating complete losers. Until Tate.
Tate was adorable, very sensitive, slightly broken, but adorable. I think he is my favorite hero of Toni Aleo's Assassins Series. He is kind, generous, and head over heels for Audrey, but he doesn't push her to be more than friends...since that is what she continues to remind herself.
There were a few moments where the same issues kept arising, but once you got passed that, the romance was quite a roller coaster ride...I say "hold on to your hats ladies...it's going to be a bumpy ride."
I am very intrigued by what will come next, I believe we are left with quite the cliffhanger at the end of Empty Net and I can't wait to see what Toni has planned for Piper and her hero who is yet to be named!!
This is a fun series, especially if you like sexy hockey players and the women who have them falling to their knees. I recommend Toni's Assassin's Series and I hope you all enjoy Empty Net.
Ok, so here I am, about 30% through the story, and not only am I already heated up from page one, but I had to stop myself, connect to Amazon and download Defying the Odds, the first book in the Battered Hearts Series. I was meeting these characters who I wanted to know more about, so I decided to read Clay and Melody's book first before I got back to Star Crossed. I am so happy that I read Defying the Odds first, cause not only were the love scenes steamy as all get out, and Clay was a smoking hot heavyweight falling in love for the first time, but I truly enjoyed Kele Moon's writing style and all the characters I met along the way.
Now, Star Crossed starts out with a band...ok...maybe explosion is a better description, and I don't mean the kind that involves fire. This book starts out hot and just gets hotter and hotter with every word. Romeo Wellings has to be one of the sexist heroes I have read, and I have read A LOT! Maybe it's the New York accent or the fact that he is a fighter who helped raise his younger brother, or it could be all the sexy things he says to Jules, but boy will he have you melting into a pile of YOWZA.
Jules "Juliet" is my kind of heroine, no-nonsense, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to say it out loud. The only problem is that her twin-brother, who is her best friend, is not all that fond of Romeo Wellings and let's it be known, as well as, his two brother's, Nova and Tino. Love the names by the way, reminds me of all the peeps back in New York.
If you think the original Romeo and Juliet was tragic...your heart will be breaking for sure while reading Star Crossed. You just want everything to work out for this couple and will be literally on the edge of your seat until the end.
I simply adored this series and can't wait until book three, which will hopefully be about Wyatt and Tabitha...there is so much that needs to be explained and I can't wait to find out where Kele is going to take this series.
I highly recommend not only Star Crossed but Defying the Odds, and then make sure to mark Kele Moon as a Need-to-Read author.

Confessions of a Sex Demon by Jaye Shields is the first in a trilogy about a family of Sex Demons who survive by climax...I know...doesn't sound so bad. Until someone seeks revenge on your brother and holds back on your climaxes in order to torture you...sounds painful.
This is what happens to Zahra, who is only trying to seek out a better life for her and her adopted sister, Sephina. And being attracted to the man who is trying to kill you, not always the best idea, even if he knows how to use his hands and mouth to bring her to the brink of pleasure...she did like her guys a bit kinky...but this was a bit much, even for her.
Jaye writes spunky heroines and alpha heroes who keep you entertained from page one. Even though this is only a novella, you will feel drawn to Zahra and Lennox, and sometimes you have to look beyond the anger to find a true hero, which is what you will find with Lennox.
Give this one a shot...and fall in love with a villainous hero who might just steal your heart!!

One has passed and one is away fighting for his country, and she is alone for the first time in years, and maybe a bit lost.
Then in walks Colton DeMarco, who has been in love/lust with Lila for the last ten years, not that he'd ever make a move on a married woman. Until one afternoon when he walks up on her sunbathing nude in her backyard and one thing leads to another.
Turns out that Colton is interested in making more of their relationship than just sex, but Lila isn't even sure she can continue with what little she is willing to offer him. She is older than him, has some money issues and doesn't want to be involved in any rumors that might get back to certain family members.
Will Lila let her heart be captured by one of the handsome DeMarco brothers, or will she live the rest of her life regretting letting him go?
This was a nice beginning to a new series from Eden Connor. The story was a bit different from your usual romance, and the sex was very steamy. The heroine was a bit older than the hero, and had recently lost her husband. She was a true characterization of any newly widowed woman trying not to lose her heart again, especially to a younger man who probably deserves to be with a woman who can give him everything out of a marriage that she cannot offer him.
Colton was a great hero, strong-minded, stubborn and sexy, sexy, sexy!! I loved his determination in showing Lila that things could work out for them, that she could love again, and he was going to be the man to claim her heart. Who doesn't love those qualities in a hero?
This was an enjoyable book, and I look forward to reading about the other two DeMarco brothers, especially Daniel, who is the hero in the upcoming, Wildly Inappropriate, releasing September 8th.

What a start to her new series, Midnight Secrets was intriguing, emotional and just plain ole GOOD!! Zach and Savannah WOW! Dyin to read the next one!
WOW...Ella Grace's Debut MIDNIGHT SECRETS Sizzles and left me wanting MORE!!
You better be ready to spend the whole day reading, because I swear, a few paragraphs in...and I was HOOKED!! And might I just say....Zach Tanner....YUMMOOOOOOO!! Fans of Christy Reece will understand when I say that there are just some authors who know how to write a HERO...and Ella Grace sure knows how to write a HERO!!
Zach, the town "bad-boy" and Savannah Wilde "good-girl" start a "burn hot and fast" kind of romance after he rescues her at the school prom. Promises are made and broken and ten years later, with some pretty big SECRETS between them, they are somewhat forced together again in hopes of cracking open a 20 year old murder. But let's just say that the town of Midnight and the people who call it home, have no plans on letting that happen, especially the people who have been keeping the SECRET since that horrific night.
First, I can't even imagine being in Savannah, or her sisters places, with what they went through as children and then to find out it all could have been a lie. Well, that is just some serious shit right there! Let me just say...LOVED Savannah Wilde...her sisters, Sammie and Bri are great too and I can't wait to see where Ella takes their stories, but Savannah was just sweet and pure and just SO IN LOVE...it broke my heart. Ella keeps you guessing the WHOLE time, dropping little hints here and there....keeping you on the seat on your chair. I was DYING to know what happened ten years ago between Savvy and Zach, and I was shocked to find out the truth...it's a definite OMG moment!
The chemistry between Zach and Savannah...whew....I don't think it could have burned any hotter...and it was NOT because they live in Alabama where it was 100+ degrees...believe me...they made PLENTY of heat on their own!! Yeah...be prepared to fall head over heels for Zach Tanner...I already have him on my Top Heroes 2013 list, cause he is ONE FINE MAN!!
The suspense kept me on my toes, the romance was heartbreaking and addicting, and the sex...well....that was just "Cold Shower Required" Smoking HOT!! Ella Grace is bringing "Romance" back to the Romance Suspense Genre. Just LOVED IT!! (less)
Jaye Shields brings us another Paranormal Romance that reaches to the furthest corners of our imagination and introduces us to some half-naked Knights!
If Secrets of the Fog is Jaye Shields baby, then call me Auntie Lisa. I can't express how proud I am to see Jaye's first Paranormal Romance finally published, and knowing that her fans are going to enjoy the story makes it all the more satisfying. Tera, Sabin and the whole Alameda crew have come a long way and I can't wait to hear what all of you think!
Secrets of the Fog follows along Tera on a journey of not only self-discovery, but of falling in love...and falling into bed with a very sexy, very seductive Knight of the Fog, Sabin. Sabin, following a smoke demon into the human realm, practically falls into Tera's arms, or into her fist, depending on who is telling the story. With these two, it is love at first, or maybe second sight, but the connection throws both of them for a loop.
Aside from working together, along with Sparrow, The Knights and a few Wiccan's, to rid San Francisco of invading demons, Tera and Sabin are also trying to find a way to navigate these new feelings that have come between them.
This is not your typical cookie-cutter romance. This Paranormal Romance takes you to places that you could never have thought up on your own. One minute you will be cheering on Tera and Sabin in battle and then waiting until they are together again, engaged in a deep kiss. I found myself cheering for these two until the very end, I just wanted them to find a way to their Happily-Ever-After.
Within Secrets of the Fog, we get a menagerie of secondary characters which you can't help wishing they were your friends. Many of them will make appearances in the next two books of the series, so know that it's not the end. There are many more adventures ahead for the Immortals of Alameda. Oh...and more half-naked Knights!!
I recommend this romance to anyone looking for something new, something fresh and something where you get to visit other realms!! Open your imagination and give Secrets of the Fog a try!!

But now Rachel is ready to go back to work teaching and the couple is planning to move into a new home behind the gates at the Kelly compound, but Ethan is still nervous about Rachel going back to work, and throw in a bundle of drama, and we have ourselves a novella about this beloved couple from THE DARKEST HOUR, the first KGI romance from Maya Banks.
I actually had to go back to THE DARKEST HOUR and re-read about Ethan and Rachel Kelly, yes another heartbreaking time...swoon!! Those Kelly brothers are quite the protective men, especially when it comes to the woman they love.
SOFTLY AT SUNRISE gives us a glimpse into the lives of Rachel and Ethan, how they are handling life without all the drama, well, they intended to have no more drama, but sometimes life surprises you. The book is only a novella, so I don't want to give too much away, but for all of you KGI fans, you will by truly happy when you finish SOFTLY, you will be left light-hearted and full of smiles...I love a happily-ever-after!! Justice at Cardwell Ranch is what I call Romance-lite...which is not my normal type of read, but the suspense was really intriguing and kept you hanging on until almost the last page. I am also not one to read a lot of westerns or Ranching-Romances, but I did enjoy the wonderfully descriptive setting and the different story lines that we have weaving in and out of each other. Never a dull moment at the Cardwell Ranch.
You get a brewing romance between Jordan Cardwell and Deputy Liza Turner, a few family secrets from the other Cardwell siblings and a long ago buried secret that comes to light when old friends return for a high school reunion.
This was a thrilling read and I would recommend to those who are looking for a different kind of suspense.

In Claiming we meet Reza Aniron, the brother of Zahra, who has cause a bit of trouble for Emmerie Winter and her husband, Lennox. Reza didn't expect to fall in love with a married woman, or to steal her away from her husband, but sometimes the heart wants what it wants and his heart wants Emmerie...and I think her heart and head is headed in the same direction.
Emmerie and Reza start more than a friendship and the lines between friendship and love get crossed, but what will the consequences be for these lovers when Lennox comes back to town to find his wife has fallen for someone else...I guess you will just have to read Claiming of a Sex Demon to find out!
Jaye writes a mix of erotic sensuality and heart wrenching romance with Claiming. Talk about a hero who captures your heart and has you falling for him with one glance, one touch...oh how I love Reza Aniron and you will too.
So put Claiming of a Sex Demon on your Holiday Wish List and let Reza and Emmerie heat up one of those cold, winter nights!
