Title : First Date
Series : - Author : Krista McGeee Pages : 336 Release Date : Jan 10th 2012 Publisher : Thomas Nelson Publishers Format : eBook/ eGalley (PDF) Source : NetGalley - Owned
My Opinion :
Krista McGee brings up a fun and romantic debut novel.
It's been a long time since I have read an eBook, mainly because I have so many physical books to read and review, but I really wanted to read First Date, and so I put the eGalley on my Nook and read it in less than a day (that'S really surprising, because I normally have a hard time reading an eBook fast... probably because I can't bring my Nook to school :S).
First Date is a great contemporary you don't want to miss!
First Date is the story of Addy Davidson, a Christian from Tampa Florida. There's this new show called The Book of Love, and some school in the U.S. can send one girl to the show, where one lucky girl will go to prom with the president's son, Jonathon (what a weird way to write that name!) Jackson. And, Addy gets chosen, even if she doesn't want to be chosen. When she gets there, she learns a thing or two (more, actually :D) about Jonathon. She was prejudiced about him. A lot. And... what if something she didn't plan happens?
First Date was suck a quick and joyous read! I found myself smiling the whole time.
As I said, I read this book in less than a day, mainly because it was so fun and easy to read. The writing was really fast-paced (which was just what the book needed!) and I loved that, because it made it so much fun to read it. The writing may not be anything special, but it is comfortable to read.
Jonathon Jackson... oh god how I loved him! He's just soooooooo... cute and shy and... *giggles*. I loved him so much! I thought he was going to be that spoiled brat, jerk, a$$... but he wasn't (see! I was prejudiced too!).
Addy was really nice. She was a great main character, and even though there were loads of mean girls treating her badly, she didn't lose herself.
Kara was a great friend to Addy too! She was just the friend Addy needed! She could have just joined the mean girls, but she didn't.
The characters are well developed and awesome (and some were bitches!)!
The cover really represents well the story. The girls in dresses are the bitches, and Addy, the normal girl, isn't in a dress. And, of course, the boy is Jonathon *giggles* ...more

Series : Mindjack Trilogy #2 Author : Susan Kaye Quinn Pages : 230 (my edition) Release Date : May 23rd 2012 Publisher : Self-Pub Format : eBook/eARC Source : **Thanks you so much to Susan for this eARC in exchange of an honest review!**
My Opinion :
Open Minds, the first book in the Mindjack trilogy, was a great and enjoyable read.
Closed Hearts met up to my expectations; it even exceeded them.
I received an eARC form the author, and let me tell you, I was SO thrilled. And, I am een more thrilled to tell you that I've got an International eBook giveaway thanks to Susan the Awesome (XD)!
In Open Minds, Kira is a zero at first, but that'S until she discovers she's a mindjacker, even if she's not that good.
In Closed Hearts, she has finally mastered mindjacking and is great at it, actually. But now, Raf has been captured, and so has she. And, he thing is, it's not even an evil guy that has captured her, but a mindjacker called Julian who want sher to help him get other mindjackers out of a prison. But, what happens if Raf dies?
I LOVED Closed Hearts so much. Even if I don't normally like to read eBooks, Susan makes them so real, I feel like I am in the story, and so, I don't really need a physical copy.
The pacing in the book is fast at times, but mainly, it's slow; which was the PERFECT pace for it! It just willed me to read faster.
Closed Hearts sucks you in and doesn't let you go until the very last word.
Susan, I love you, but please make Julian and Kira come together. Please? Pretty please? I jsut think they would make suck a COOL couple!

Title : The Goddess Test Series : Goddess Test #1 Pages : 267 Author : Aimee Carter Publisher : Harlequin Teen Format : eBooks Source : Owned - Bought
My Opinion : The Goddess Test is a remarkable debut for Aimee Carter! It sucks the reader into the story, and doesn't let him/her come out... ever.
I really loved this book because I love anything that has to do with Greek and/or Roman mythology (hence my love for Percy Jackson and The Heroes of Olympus). You may find it weird, but I love the story of Hades and Persephone. I really like the gods in the mythology. In the book, the Greek mythology is actually lived by the main character, Kate, and is described not by mythology, but by their way of living. Of course, Kate thinks that's weird too, and I agree with her. But here's the thing... she has to pass seven test... YEP SEVEN!!! And it is the Seven Deadly Sins she has to pass.... oh my! But, you may ask, how did she get into this bullpoopie (this word comes from Zoe in the House of Night series)... well... the thing is... one of her former-enemies, now friends, Ava, kills herself accidentally by diving into a river, then Henry no Hades um... Henry comes and offers her to save her friends' life, after asking her if she knows the story of Persephone... and she accepts... which means she agreed to try and pass the test that killed so many girls before her. Now, you are asking yourself... why does Hades want to get another wife? Well, that's because Persephone fell in love with a mortal and Hades let her go (yep, he's not that bad and evil as he's normally described...)... so yeah... READ THE DAMN BOOK!
I really loved the characters and how they were described and built. I think the characters made a whole lot of difference in this book; if they hadn't been that well described, the book wouldn't have been that great. My favorite had to be Ava... she reminded me of one of my former friends... just less bitchy... (ah... nostalgia...)
The setting also work big in the book. I really love the way the other described it. :D
The cover is drop-dead gorgeous! I love it... it's so cute and, I think it represents well the book :D

My Opinion :
Taste by Kate Evangelista is a debut novel that rocked my socks off. I couldn't find them anymore XD
I received an eARC of Taste from the author; I was totally thrilled when she first contacted me for the Trailer and Excerpt Reveal of Taste, because I had set my eye on the book previously. Then, she contacted me again and offered me the offer to review Taste. And I squealed of delight and, of course, accepted the offer. Then, I started the book, and totally fell in love with the book and the characters.
Taste is about Phoenix, a girl who has been sent to an Academy by her cold father. Then, she gets out after the school's curfew, and she meets those weird people who say they are going to feast on her flesh. But then, she has no idea those people are Zhamvyrs; zombies. But, they aren't your typical Hollywood ugly and brain eating zombies. They are a race that has stopped eating human flesh, and is now dying from a substitute to human flesh that they created. And, she falls in love with Demitri, although Luka is a close second.
Taste is a great book; fast-paced and keeps you turning the pages; you can't wait to find out what happens to the awesome and attaching characters Evangelista has created.
In Taste, you get to know Phoenix a little. One thing you need to know about her; she doesn't follower orders, she actually does the exact opposite. Which, gives her a reckless yet determined side. I grew attached to her, since she was such and awesome character.
Then there'S the swoon-worthy face-sucking-worthy (*giggles*) Demitri. I think that something that didn't help me also fall in love with him is the fact that his name is almost like Dimitri from Vampire Academy's name. And, by the way, I love Dimitri AND Demitri.
Luka was a close second for Phoenix... as well as for me. He was just... um... awesome. Yep, that's the word I was looking for!
I really hate Vladimir, but that's probably because he'S a total jerk and the evil guy in the book.

My Opinion :
Intangible is a great debut novel.
I think the thing that made me want to read the book was mainly the book cover. I just love it sooooo much!
I don't get many eBooks for review, since, firstly, I can't take my Nook to school (*sighs and rolls eyes*) and also because I always forget about them :S BUT, Intangible looked too good to pass out on.
Intangible is about twins Sera and Luke. They both have powers; Sera can heal and Luke can See the future. They have always kept their powers secret every since Sera told their grand mother about her powers. Which didn't really go well. But now, everything is about to change, because Luke has Seen a vision of Sera dying. And his visions are never wrong.
Intangible was SUCH an entertaining debut. I found the time flying by while reading Intangible!
The writing in this book is fast-paced and keeps you turning the pages.
I found myself really loving Luke as a character; he was just so cute and hot and awesome. I just loved it when he was more in the book.
Sera was a surprisingly great character, although I don't understand why she should be the one to be in the Prophecy (which isn't explained a lot in the book, unfortunately :S)

Contemporary - and fantasy - fans will love KNEE DEEP
Jolene Perry takes you into the world of Ronnie Bird and Shawn, Ronnie's boyfriend. Shawn is what Ronnie calls 'her soulmate'- or so she believes. The book begins with them all lovey-dovey and nice, until Shawn starts getting more jealous of anything and everything. It starts affecting the way Ronnie does everything, and she begins being afraid of him. And then he starts hurting her. But... could he really do that? Ronnie believes it'S just because things aren't going well at home. But should she let him? And Luke, her lifelong friend, is starting to worry for her.
I loved that the book has different aspects to it; the Romeo and Juliet play, Luke, even Ronnie's best friend.
The love between Ronnie and Shawn was really heart-breaking. But, I thought Luke and Ronnie's forming love throughout the book was beautifully crafted! Bravo to Perry!
I know that this book deals with a harsh issue, and I find that more people should read books that discuss it, so that it never happens, and that if it does, that people react faster.
Knee Deep hypnotized me from start to finish.
This book may be really short, but sometimes the quality beats the quantity; as it did for this book. I felt connected to the book in a weird way; I cheered for the main character, Ronnie, to find a way to get away from Shawn. I just wanted her to be safe.
A great read I'd recommend to anyone looking for a great contemporary.

My Opinion : I am so happy to have seen this book randomly on GoodReads; I can't thank GoodReads enough for it!
Open Minds evolves around Kira Moore, a zero; someone who can't read everyone's mind. Because, you know, in the future, it's normal to read people's mind, because of a kind of drug that got in the water everywhere. Yeah. Weird. But it turns out she can actually jack into peoples mind. Which means she can control their minds. Yep, that's better! Until everything turns sour...
I love e-ve-ry character in the Open Minds book. Kira was cute, Simon was hot, Raf was sweet, Molloy was... creepy, and any other had a story of his/her own and an awesome author describing him/her.
The writing is fast-paced, yet it's still a little slow; it always kept me on the edge. It was flowing, melting, like meat melts on my tongue (I know, weird comparison).
The cover is so awesome on my Nook! I love it: it's special and intriguing.
