Then we read the author's note (illustrator's note, I guess). Then we were blown away.(less)

Why isn't it getting more buzz? It's kind of the most amazing LADIES ROCK story I'd never heard. My only reservation is the overuse of exclamation points. Of course, the social justice side of me asks what the impact of a white lady having 16 people carrying 22 pieces of luggage was on the locals, but no worries... The styling of the book reminds me of Me... Jane.(less)

Hillllllllarious inside jokes to older/wiser readers, but not so much that it takes away from the main story for the target age group. My kids and I ADORE the three incorrigible children. Must read, and a great read aloud.(less)

What I appreciated most was the perfect amount and tone of humor. This is absolutely appropriate as a book in verse, and I didn't think structuring it that way was gimmicky at all. Highly recommended; we're reading this aloud in class.
