The genre of this novel is romance with a mixture of business. This novel has all the components of the genre.
Your main characters are Chase CEO of the business that now employs Brooke whose company just got bought out by her present employer.
Every thing is about appearance even when underneath every thing is crumbling. Chase is married and has a four-year old boy unknown to Brooke. She can’t help but be attracted to the young executive. Soon they act upon it. Not until their relationship becomes know to the company is Brooke given the pink slip and loses her job.
Refusing to take any of his calls Brooke moves forward trying to live her life. One that has seen the death of her husband and her baby.
I tend to read romance books once every 5-10 years for I can only take so much of them. But this one was very clever. It played on the man, a Duke fan and the girl who is a Tar Heel fan. As someone who now lives in NC and is a huge Duke follower I got the jars and kidding between the two, I loved it. The author even reference the rivalry between the two as being similar to the Red Sox vs the Yankees. As a New Englander who has lived through that and still does it brought a smile to my face. The way the book was written got you engrossed in the book, even someone who does not read this genre as a whole.
It just gets better considering the author is a man. This just goes to show you can not judge a book by it’s cover for Hansen did an amazing job.

Genre: YA Paranormal and aimed at the upper teens from 15-18. The story begins with our main character Scarlett as her family moves to Romania for a new job opportunity for her father. It is a huge family with Scarlett being the only girl of quads at the age of 17 and their baby sister Ruby who is five. Their mother died after giving birth to Ruby. While Romania is known with the history of vampires no one believes they do exist. As the siblings make friends with the people around them their father starts to work for a man by the name of Vlad. Things start to get interesting as the supernatural stories of their youths are being played out behind the scenes in real life.
The older children sense things are not as they should be they could not possible imagine what is the truth behind the many lies that is being told too them. Vlad for instance is a vampire an old one at that who plans to run the world. His family are told to stay away from the humans to not bite or turn them. The answer is simple. He needs Scarlett and Ruby if needed to complete his plans. While Vlad needs Scarlett she is also the only one who can kill Vlad if she is taught how to do so. But it is not only vampires that exist around this family.
Intertwine in this story is romance between the quads and who they are puppy eyed over. No one is safe and the family best be careful o who they trust if they can trust anyone.
The pace of this book was really good. With the cast of characters being long I did not get confused. The characters were developed well. This book is not for those who are not into the supernatural. It is also not for those who rather not read about teenager and their sexual encounters for this is a presence in this book. If you have no problem with either then you will enjoy this book and how it is woven together.(less)

First of all I want to say I am always impressed with how authors can create new worlds and characters in this genre.
The main character is Owen who is a freshman in college. The novel starts off with him having a dream of a new world. But it is not a dream it is a place called Everville. Owen can transplant himself there by thinking on the location. A place that is run by Keepers and inhabited by Frons. A race that is peace-loving, kind and willing to help others. But there is a problem, Them. A group that is determined to take over all of Everville. A breach has been created and it must be closed. Owen with the help of his best friends, Anika and Dante, help the Keeper to obtain this goal. It does not help that Them transports anyone who does not help them to a place called The Other In Between. Here numerous Frons are placed moving around aimlessly like dull drones. They no longer have the traits that make them Frons. The trio must save this world before it is destroyed and hence reaches out to their world as well.
I really enjoyed this book. This genre is not usually my thing and it has to grab me from the beginning for me to keep on reading it. This one did. The flow was amazing the pages flew by and before I knew it I was done the book. Bravo.

Asking for help from the PI next door Parker ,who is friends with Walt, the story embarks on catching the crook responsible. Parker has history of her own which includes saving Walt during the war. The two are tight. How tight is what Bryant wants to know as he immediately wants Parker for himself.
The pace of this book is so amazing. It is a quick read but a great one at that. You can’t go wrong for the price for as you read this short book you are taken away and go for the ride with the characters inside.

The author dives into the cost of going to college in this day and age. How the cost of rising tuitions is related to the higher debts students are incurring. When a student graduates, if they do, the odds of finding work in our present economy is not as readily available as it use to be. It's also not as it has been promised by the institution that recruited them. The higher tuitions go the more money is available for students to get on loans to accommodate the cost of going to college.
Even if they do graduate the price of paying back the loan, which is six months after they walk across the stage, dips into their way of life for the monthly payments is so huge it takes away most of their paycheck.
This is not a quick read at all. There are numerous stats to support the facts the author writes about. There were some pages it got overwhelming with the statistics that were being tossed out to the reader. It is however very informative if you have a child or will have a child in college. As a college graduate I to got burden with school loans to pay off but in the 1980's colleges had not reached the all time high of tuition fees like it has now.
This book will infuriate you at the business side of colleges and banks as this book reaches in and explains what is going on behind the scenes that you might not know off. This is an interesting book to pick up.

He was born into a poor immigrant family but yet managed to build his company into a formidable business. Deciding it is time to pass on the business he has to decide between his oldest daughter Branna versus his youngest daughter Niamh. The job goes to Branna.
Niamh feels she has just as much right to the throne as her sister does. Confronting her father Niamh brings a proposal to him. That being she would take over a run down company that is under the umbrella of Fayne Corporation the one her father built to such great heights. She informs her dad she will not only turn it around but increase the value tenfolds in one year. If she is successful she will replace her sister as CEO of the company. Her father agrees. The story takes off from here as it dives into a year-long venture of Niamh trying her best to keep the commitment she has made with her father.
I did not like the main character. But that is okay for she worked well with the plot line. However I found it hard to believe that someone her age and with no experience could pull off what she did. She had a lot of good people helping her and everything seem to go her way. There was pitfalls in her personal life and that worked well I just wish some big dip in the business world would have been included. Someone else can read this book and be happy with how the dip worked for the business. This is just a personal opinion I have.
The pace was amazing, it flowed well. However as I got to the last 10 pages I was thinking oh boy how will this end which was sudden. I did not like it. I wanted more. Even with the length of this book I wanted to read more a testament of the writing in this book.
I do give this book a four star rating. It covered all that is needed in a book to keep the reading turning the pages.(less)

The basis of this book is how we are all interconnected to each other by the good and bad choices we make. Mr. Brauns calls it the principle of the rope. While a lot of us feel that our choices is what propel us to where we end up whether that be good or bad. But our decisions do impact the people around whether we think about it or not.
The very first example comes from the original sin. Which is when Adam and Eve ate of the apple which caused them to be casted out of the Garden of Eden. As Christians we been dealing with that from day one. The book continues as it mentions how not every one is willing to believe that the rope is real.
The book is divided into two sections. The first is understanding the idea of the rope. The second section is how to apply it to our lives. There are a lot of reference to the Bible and scriptures for us to dive into to better help us the principles of the rope.
This was a hard book for me to review for even though I know the author was knowledgeable with this material it could have been written a little more for the layman who happens to pick up this book.
I do like the concept or over all theme of this book. However there were several times I had to reread sentences and whole paragraphs that lost me. This book is very in-depth and deep. It is not an easy sit down and read in one or two sitting kind of book. At least it was not for me. I am sure I miss some of the points the author was trying to convey to the readers.

This novel falls in the genre of juvenile fiction, science fiction and general and is third in this series.
The premise is Earth is getting ready for a future attack from invaders named the Thule. Our hero is a 16-year-old boy named Colt who is a cadet at the CHAOS Military Academy where he is training with others to protect Earth from the aliens. What makes him special is simple. Colt is part Thule a fact that is mentioned through the book. But he became this way via the government who were trying to come up with a weapon of their own.
Everyone knows he is special even the Thule has heard of him. The book dives into the preparations that the cadets go through. However their training is interrupted when the Thule preempt their attack sooner than the cadets had expected.
I have read the first in this series but not the second. But you could have started with this volume and not be lost. Enough background is given to where you are caught up but not too much that you get overpowered by it.
The book is a good quick read you are not bogged down by too much sci-fi mumbo jumbo that can slow a reader down. Some aspects of the book was brought up but not fully expanded on and would have loved to see what happened on those occasions.
I did not quite like the ending. It felt that loose ends were being tied up quickly to finish the book. However I would recommend the book if you just want to sit down and enjoy a reading of a good book

What you will find inside are ways to love your child no matter what. Let’s face it being a parent is not easy and our kids do not always follow the pattern we have in mind for them.
The author’s daughter who is mentioned throughout the book and on certain occasions we hear her side of what was going on depending on the topic of the chapter. The book doves into a lot of emotions that can occurred when dealing with our child. This can be from the decisions they make that we don’t agree with. How this world is not all about you as a parent but your child and family as well.
One of the chapters I liked was labelled, “What in the World Am I Doing Wrong?” I believe a lot of moms can relate to that. How we need to let go and let our kids fly. It does not mean we approve of what they are doing but to still love them to let them know you are there for them. The book is sprinkled with personal stories from a variety of families and the problems they came across. At the end of the book the author mentions where they are now and what happened. I did like that for we do get curious as readers to know the ending of books like this.
At the end it has questions and reflections that we can go over ourselves to see where we are in our lives with our family and children.
The book seemed to drag a little. This may be because there was a lot of suggestions being tossed at us. It was a book I had to put down a couple of chapters at a time. It does not take away from the book but for me it was not one I could read in a day or two due to the content
As a parent I felt a lot of what was being said and have already used one of the suggestions toward my son. It worked and I am grateful for that.

I love to laugh and this book did it for me. It was not a small cover your mouth and look around to see who can hear you oh no. The laughs that came out were belly shaking, sides hurting and glasses being filled with tears kind of laughter.
The author’s quirky sense of humor is a delight. Let me share with you the table of contents for that is the best way to review this book.
Why Rule The World?
Have You Got What It Takes?
Apprenticeship:The Wilderness Years
Career Paths To The Top

It ends with a short chapter on how the author made his attempted coup plus another chapter on the who’s who in “How To Rule The World”.
The book is not very big the chapters and pages short but what you get out of it is a whole bunch of laughing. He gets 5 stars for this book. The humor is not for everyone but it suited me just fine.(less)

Be prepared to be humble when you read this book. Over the last few weeks and months I have been praying to the Lord to share with me other things I needed to be grateful for. Then this book arrived in my mailbox. It was not a book I requested but was chosen for me from a group to review. I will say this was his way of saying here, be humble.
This book is the story of Steve Peifer who use to work for a corporation and oversaw numerous consultants in the field of computers. Life was good for his family of two boys and wife until Nancy gives birth to their youngest Stephen. Tragedy hits when the young baby is diagnosed with a condition that will shorten his live massively. Within days of his birth he dies.
Trying to get their lives back in order they embark on becoming missionaries in Kenya. Uprooting their young sons they trek after much preparations to become dorm parents to a group of young boys at a school. They decided a year would be enough to do the work of the Lord.
They were incredibly wrong as they came across a kind of poverty that would overwhelm even the seasoned missionary. What this family from Texas discovered was droughts, hunger, casualties of war and pain on a level that will bring anyone to tears.
Join the family as the book dives into their experiences and what they learned. Something that was never expected and yet much appreciated and loved.

It falls into the genre of fiction,Christian and general.
The main character is Beth who is married with two sons. Her husband Rick who is a men’s pastor at their church gets offered a new job. The family would have to move but it would mean Rick would be in charge the head honcho.
Rick’s way to figure out if he wants to take the job or not is to take up camp in their shed in the back yard and lock himself from all that he knows. This includes the church, the outside world and his own family. This leave Beth and her two boys wondering and leaving his wife to pick up the pieces and deal with what is thrown at her. Rick has shut them out mentally and emotional as he holds up trying to decide.
Through this all Beth goes through many emotions from feeling of frustration, anger and abandonment.
Beth is a Christian woman who holds her family together the best she knows how through the trials of life and two teenage boys who bring enough headaches to the table.
Throughout the book the reader is left to wonder what is going on with Rick and how long will Beth put up with this.
When he finally comes out I must admit I was not happy with how easily Beth forgave him for putting her through this. The reason we are given is Rick never says he is sorry and since he did say this to her she can forgive him for a lot of what he has done. That just does not wash with me. I like Beth but what I did not like is how her family treated her. Typical teenagers perhaps we all know at some stage they frustrate parents to all ends of the earth. Still the ending left me feeling blah. Rick was not likable at all for me. And that is ok for we are not always meant to like all the characters in a book.
I wish there was a way to give a half star for while I can’t give this book a four I feel it is higher than a three.

Every one is familiar with the term Bucket List. On there you place things you want to do in life before you die. This little book is just that. It mentions out of the mind amazing things to try to things you can do in your own own. This is good for I honest wondering how in heck did the author expect us to pay for some of the suggestions listed.
But it is not about following a list that someone has placed in a book. Anyone can do that. The point of the book was to get out and do something, try something new, don't just sit around doing nothing. As the author mentioned we tend to lose sight of things once we get married, have kids and settle down and life takes over. The chance of getting into a rut is very real.
Even if you can't make a fancy list of things to do, places to visit you can still make a bucket list that suits you. That is my take. But there is a bit of spirituality mixed in with the many lists located here. There are passages listed for us to check out to help us with our own journey. In there we find that we are not alone.
If anything can be learned from this book I would say is rather simple.
Do. Do something. Do something different Do something outside your comfort zone even if you fail. Just do. (less)

The genre is Young Adult / Science-Fiction and the age group is MG-High School.
Fantasy is really not my cup of tea when it comes to reading. This is mostly due to the new cultures, languages and species that can get confusing if not done right. However this is not the case here. The amazing way Mr. Sirois has created a new world and interweaves it with Earth not only got me interested by the first few pages it did not get me lost in translation. Trust me folks this is a huge kudo to the author. It was well laid out and it flowed as sweet as honey. He got me and got me good with this book that was hard to put down.
Matt is the main character, a young man in high school on Earth who in his spare time writes about an unknown world. He can’t help it as the thoughts and visions fill his mind constantly. Matthew never once anticipated that what he is putting down is a world that does exist but in the galaxy far away.
It only gets more complicated when the characters in his stories appear in form before him. They are here to seek his help to save their world for hidden inside Matthew is a long dead hero waiting to come out..
The plot was amazing as the character development just enhanced this book, I am ready for the next book in this series. (less)

This book falls into the genre of religion, Christian life and spiritual growth.
I found this book to be truly incredible and it came at a time in my life where I had the same questions that were asked in this novel.
Johnnie lays out the content in a very easy to understand manner. It is not forced but yet strong in content. The basis for this book is about God’s grace and how it is freely given to us. This is regardless if we deserve it or not, and we don’t.
How much do we appreciate the grace of God? Do we really believe and accept the notice that this incredible gift has been given to us regardless who we are? Do we pass forward the grace to others?
That has been the intention of God all along. His people were to receive this gift and not hold on to it but to share with others the message and good news of grace.
But in giving us that grace he gave it to everyone. His son Jesus shared his message with the ones who were not popular. The ones you find on the wrong side of town, the poor, the children and widows. He didn’t go to Rome and mingled with the higher-ups who felt they were entitled to every thing. No God send his only son to share with those who were in the trenches who needed to hear what he had to say.
I can’t say enough how much I have enjoyed this book except in one way. Most of the books I receive from Booksneeze I put up to be recycled by others. It is very rare I keep a book for myself. I will share this book with others but it will be a member of my bookshelf for me to reread.(less)

This book falls into the category of self-help,personal growth and general.
When I requested this book it was noted that it can be read in one hour. They were right. The author one day realized he had been alive 20,000 days. He ponders on what he had done in that amount of time. He decides to plan the next 20,000 days of his life to maximize his full potential.
The book is divided into three sections
Section 1:The 20,000 -Day Mind-Set. It doves into how Robert came up with the concept of 20,000 days. It is about changing the mind-set. We are not thinking of how many years we have left or have lived but instead count the days. Each day we are to live our lives like it is our last. Learn to accept your mortality, cause folks it is happening. Once we can do that, the burden of it is no longer with us.
Section 2:Beating The Clock-Motivation is a myth. It is difficult to get people going and to improve productivity, Do the opposite. Increase one’s productivity and the motivation will happen. . It comes down to choices and options which boils down to yes or no. When you think of all the decisions that one makes in a day that basically sums it up. Do what you know. That alone will amaze you.
Section 3:Today Is Day One-The day to get your life into gear. This section has questions to ask yourself to see if you are ready. Are you prepared to change your life?
The sections have quotes from various people who home in on the topic you are about to read.
I generally liked this book. The fact it was a quick read was huge. I also like how it was not your typical self-help book. I was not being preached at but instead shown ways how I can improve my life and the things around it. (less)

It revolves around the main character April Grace who lives with her youngest baby brother Eli, her oldest sister Myra and their parents. The setting is in the 80ties so there is a lot of reference to that time frame, a period I did enjoy thoroughly. She is a curious child with an active imagination. When she sees her older sister standing by the mailbox one evening and place something inside her brain takes off with the possibilities what Myra could possibly be doing. That gets put to the side when her mother’s mom appears out of nowhere having abandoned her daughter not once but twice many years ago. No one makes this woman feel quite at home as she tries to blend in with the household. If that was not enough her sister Myra is acting more secretive then usually staying in her room and keeping to herself. The plot thickens when April has to move into her sister’s room so the new grandmother can sleep in her own room. April starts to snoop even more so for the opportunity is right before her eyes.
This book was a bit lukewarm to me. I have not read the previous books to this series so am not sure if there is information in the others that I need to know prior to reading this one. I did not like the fact that April Grace addressed most of the adults in the book by their first name. That did turn me off a bit. The girl and her dialogue seemed a bit older then she actually was. Her personality was a little too much in some cases where she acted like an adult and got away with it in her speaking and actions. Again not having read the previous books this might have been already established.
The book was decent and a good read but I feel I missed out on not reading the previous ones in this series. (less)

This book falls into the genre of suspense and thriller.
Our main character is an Australian journalist by the name of Charlotte Burke. She is sent on assignment with journalists from other newspapers and magazines to attend a whirl wind press extravaganza courtesy of the Harvey Corporation. Each journalist must sign a disclaimer theywill not write-up the on goings of the trip until it is over. The Harveys are of one the worlds richest families. They are not saints.
Unbeknown to Charlotte the trip is a rouse to get her father flushed out into the open. You see Charlotte is not her real name. She changed it years ago after her father killed her mother so she could started a new life. But she is not the only one who knows her secrets.
On this trip people she knows are being killed just to protect the secret of the Harveys and why they want her on this trip.
This book is heavy in the topics of romance, sexual encounters and other sexual deviations. It is not for the faint of heart. If you can handle it then this will be a good read for you.
The best way to describe this book for me is how Riley left bread crumbs through the book. Each time you picked one up you were nourished but not satisfied. You needed to keep reading to see what was going to happen next.
The list of characters is long. If you have a bad memory or are not able to keep track of who is who then this might be a problem. Otherwise the characters are wonderfully developed and speaks well for themselves.

I was at my favorite mom and pops diner when I started reading this book. Soon I heard an ah hum as I looked up at the waitress who had placed my food down and was waiting for me to acknowledge her. The first chapter had me so engrossed every thing around me had disappeared into a void. To me that is a heck of a way to start a book. I came close to emailing Lenore to tell her this in fact.
The book’s main character is Jude who has fallen off a bluff near her home. Ending up in the hospital with massive trauma and broken bones she lays in a coma. The plot thickens when doctors discover she is pregnant. Something that is a mystery due to the fact she is a lesbian and has clearly shown she is not interested in men.. She tells her dearest and only friend Frances prior to the fall her condition but that is all.
Throughout the book while Jude is in a coma you can still hear her thoughts as she observes the ongoings around her. From this you get a sense of who she is and her thoughts on the people who come to visit her.
The doctors decide to keep Jude on life support so the baby can come to term and be delivered. This is a slipper slope since the hospital is supported by the church.
Who is the father? Does he know about the baby? Did she fall or was she pushed? The questions keep popping up making me unable to put the book down.
There are numerous characters in this book. Normally when this happens I have to start writing them down so I don’t get confused. I did not have to do this once for this book. Each character was developed so well that they stuck in my mind easily. That was a major kudo for this author.
The various twists and turns fill this book. Some you see coming while others come upon the reader without any warning. That also made the book very enjoyable. You just never knew what was going to be on the other page when you turned to it.(less)

The genre for this book is in the category of religion, Christian life and spiritual growth.
This book if you want to do it successfully it is suggested you do one chapter a day. During that day one reflects on the message that has been discussed. You do this for 40 days.
The first week it dives into what we are here for. It makes a reader ponder this question more deeply. What drives your life? Where did it start? Have you looked at this from God’s point of view?
The book has five purposes to help shape the reader. It starts with how we are planned for God’s pleasure and what is our relationship is with him. It continues by talking about how we were made for God’s family as we think on our relationship with our community and fellowship with others. You move onto how we were created to become like Christ. In doing so we are changed. From there it discusses how we were shaped for serving God by using the unique gifts each of us has which is designed to serve him and others. The last purpose brings the book to the final point which is how we are all meant to work out with a mission. By sharing our message as we balance it with our lives we try to avoid any potential roadblocks.
This book is like no other I have come across in this genre. In the 42 chapters are video introductions by the author. There is an audio lesson at the end of each chapter where you get more information by Mr. Warren. The reader has access to an online forum and community where you can discuss with other like minded people about one’s experience through this book. If you are really interested in learning what is your purpose and have the time to take 40 days out of your life this is a good place to start. The in depth questions and readings makes you rethink who you are as a person.
