This is a different book and, even though I’m not really sure what I was expecting, I can say that this wasn’t it. In honor of this rare occasion, I’ll do a different review as well. For those who are reading this review in hopes to read this book, I’ll give a little taste of what to expect of it. I’m pretty sure this won’t be much difference, cose this book is a surprise no matter what you expect.
Reviewed on 06/25/2012.
Dear Friend,
I’m writing to you so I can share something I think is just too special for me to keep it to myself. I just read a book called The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I know, I know, it doesn’t sound so great and the cover is really dorky, but sometimes a dorky cover can hide a really cool story. The story is about this guy named Charlie.

He is really shy and doesn’t have many friends, so I was really happy for him when he told me he had made some new friends.

People often say they are happy for other people’s happiness without meaning it, but I totally do. So, Charlie meets Patrick who is really outgoing and knows a lot of stuff. He is fun and has a really great laugh that makes you want to laugh with him, because he is so happy that his happiness leaks and reaches everyone around him.

Charlie also meets Sam. She is so cool and pretty, but in an honest kind of way. You don’t know what kind of pretty is this? Well, is like this, she doesn’t cover every inch of her face in heavy makeup and when she smiles she really smiles. Not that kind of smile that looks like is painful because is so stretched, or the kind that makes you uncomfortable because is creepy.

The best thing about them is that they are the coolest people Charlie knows and still, they make him feel welcome and they really get to know him, like I did.

I wish I could say that this story is about Charlie making friends and being happy all the time, but that would be a lie. He does tell some really happy and funny stories, but also some really sad ones.
I wish I could’ve done more for him than just listen to him tell me his stories and his experiences in life. I wish I could’ve talk to him back and tried to give him advises about what he was telling me. And sometimes I wish I could punch someone for making him feel so sad, but I guess that wouldn’t help him much, would it? Well, I guess not.
Charlie loves to read and makes mix tapes. A mix tape, if you don’t know what it is yet, is a tape where you pick up a selection of songs with a purpose. It can be mix of happy songs like: Road Trip Mix Tape, Going To The Beach Mix Tape, Happy Birthday Mix tape, etc. Or it also can be a mix of sad songs like: I Just Got Dump Mix Tape. It can really be anything you want it to be.
Charlie gives the best music and book recommendations and when he talks about the songs, the meaning behind it and how he feels when he listen to it is really moving.
This is really a great story and I was so happy to meet Charlie and hear him talk about his life, family and friends. I cried with him, got mad with him and for him, got sad and confused, but I also felt happiness and laughed with him.
If you are reading this review in hopes to see if this book is all what everyone says it is, I’m not sure this review will help you, because I have no idea what you think this book is, but you’re probably wrong. I can’t tell you what this book is, because for me or anyone else to try to explain how it felt to listen to this book (I listened to the audio) is like trying to explain to a blind what the sky looks like. I can tell you this book is about a teenager that had some really deep problems and keeps writing to someone about them and what happens in his life like writing to a diary. That would be accurate and it’s what this book shows, just like if you tell the sky is blue.
That fact is not the heart of this book, is just the outlines. What makes something special is how it makes you feel. Just like I felt sucked in by the writing and the audio record. Connected to a fictional character to the point of seeing trough his eyes and feel like I’m part of the story too. While I listened to the book I was the one Charlie was talking with, I was his friend and that feeling of belonging, of being part of something, is what made me love this story.
But I must warn you that this is a sad book and bad things happen in it, so if you don’t like sad stories, even the ones with hope, and friendship, and love in it, you shouldn’t read it.
Since I can’t explain exactly how I felt, I’ll use one quote that seems to be as close as it can be. This is in the beginning of the book, so it’s not spoiler at all.
“I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.”
The movie is coming up soon and I can’t wait to watch it.

Ok, guys, this book has a lot going on and like 80% of it is gonna grab you by the bolls and spin you so fast that you’ll forget your own name. I say this in the best sense of the expression. This is something good, even though it sounds terrible, you know, with the bolls and all. But, trust me, it's a really good thing. I love when a book surprise me this way. But, unfortunately, I’ll have to keep a lot of the things in secret, cose the fun about it is in find out for ourselves. But, I’ll try say all I can about it, so you can understand how I feel about this book and all you can expect to find in it.
The Plot - Heven is something like a big shot in this book. Sam is like her body guard and has to keep her save from all the demons that are after what she is caring. They have to take it to where it belongs. Where is it? In freaking Italy!!! Heven and Sam are teenagers working for minimal wagers. I wander how that’s gonna happen. LoL

The Characters - Lets start with Heven.

She is different now, more confidant and strong. Is like she can walk with her head upright and face what the future brings instead of hiding like she used to do in the first book. I like her better now.
Sam.

He is strong, hardworking and so, so, so dreamy. What more can I say? *sigh* I love him.
.
The Writing - Cambria writes in little details. What do I mean by that? Well, she likes to makes us see and feel every little detail of everything in the story. This can be a little slow moving and since, as you all know, I have the attention span of a 5yo, it can be a little distracting sometimes. But if you like lots of details and long talks, this book is for you.
1º peeps POV, always a pleasure, of course. From Sam and Heven. If you think about it, it’s a win – win situation. I get to see trough Sam’s eyes and when is Heven, I get to enjoy the better view of my one and truly. S2
Consideration - The fate of human kind is in jeopardy and all the hell is breaking lose. How would you feel if demons would pop up from everywhere to attack you? I would surely shit my pants seven ways till Sunday, that’s for sure. The lizard guy? WTF was that? If that type of hell is what is in your mind, Cambria, I shudder to think about how your nightmares must be like.
Ok, so now is the part where I say to all : GO READ THIS BOOK! But Why? You may ask. Well, lets see if I can get this right.
This book is for you if:
• You like very descript writing
• You like romantic and adorable relationships
• You like angels
• You like hellhounds
• You like Italy
• You like seen a girl kicking a guy’s ass
• You like creepy demons that can get inside your dreams *double creepy*
• You love the cover of this book
• You like surprises
• You are a good person
• You don’t want me to kick you in the bolls
• That’s IT, GO READ THE BOOK!!!!!!

In this review I’ll do something I never did before; I’ll do two reviews of the same book. Actually, is one review but divided in two levels, or whatever you want to make of it.
Realistic /Normal Plot - On a realistic/ normal level, we have a plot about a girl that is half white and half black living in a time when black people were treated very poorly, to say the least. So her mother hided her in a hotel in the middle of nowhere and changed her name, cose in that time, your name would tell who you were. I live in Brazil and we don’t have things like this name stuff, but in the past, there were things as black name, Jew name, and etc. Calie is very sick and needs to leave or else her dust pneumonia (which I didn’t even knew existed) would kill her. But her mother won’t let her go and insist they must stay so her father, Callie’s father, can find them when he comes back to them. This was bad, but since like things tend to get even worse when you think it’s already terrible, a dust storm appears and her mother disappears leaving her all alone. Now she has to find a way to find her mother and her dad.
Fantasy Plot - On a fantasy level, we have a plot about a girl that is half human and half fairy that is hunted by her own people and has no idea what she really is. So, her mother hides her in the middle of nowhere changing her name and keeping her out of the fairy radar (both seelie and unseelie). Calie wants to leave and her health is in jeopardy, but her mother wants to stay and wait for Calie ‘s dad to come home. Calie is growing up and her magic is getting hard to hide until a day when an unnatural dust storm appears from nowhere and takes Calie’s mother away. Now she is alone and has to find out what happened to her mother and her dad, who she doesn’t see in years.
I like this plot. Separately they are ok, but when you mix them together you get something really different and unique. The words I like to use and I rarely get to is: “This plot is something like you never saw before.” Well, you may have, but this is 100% first time for me.
The Characters-
Calie is a smart girl and is not our silly and naïve girl. She can take care of herself and deals with hard situations better than I could ever deal with. But, she is not street smart and she does some things really innocent and that makes us go all *Look how adorable she is*. Jack, I wasn’t really sure what to make of him, and I’m still not sure I do, but he is something solid in Calie’s path and he is very important to the story. I just wish there was something more in him. I wanted to see more of him, but then again, I always want more from the cute and courageous guys in the stories I read. Calie’s mom, I don’t hate her and that’s a lot to say about the parents in stories like that. She doesn’t appear much, but I get the sense that she loves Calie very much and wants to protect her. From what, I’m still not sure, but is something terrible. The fey, what to say about the fey? *scratch head* In simple words: Beautiful, terrifying and 100% sly and liars. If there’s one thing I’ve learn with the Iron Fey series is not to trust the fey and in this book that hasn’t change one bit. I can’t say they are evil, cose for me to say something like that they would have to have morals and feelings and be bound by human laws and way of thinking. They are not, so that doesn’t apply to them. All I can say is that they are dangerous, no matter how lovely and enchanted they seem on the outside.
The Writing- This is the first book I read from this author and I’m happy that I did, cose this is one great writing. How can I be sure? Well, in this book we have food recipes, clothes details, hairdo details and all sorts of things that usually made me sleepy and distracted, but in this case I liked. I really liked and I’m totally gonna prepare some of the recipes. LoL the way this author describes the fey, the scenery and all the magic is so natural that all the parts fit perfectly. First person narrative, just the way I like it. All story trough Calie’s eyes.
Considerations - Before I read this book I read a few reviews about it, and I must confess I was prepared to not like it very much and to find it a little boring and dull. I started to read it and, to my so, so happy surprise, I love it. I could spend hours discussing the repercussion of racism on that time and how people judged you by your color, your clothes, your name and the money you had. But that would stand till today since that hasn’t changed much with the years. I could talk about how terrible the dust was and how people died from hunger and dust pneumonia, which is a terrible way to die ( I did a little research about it while reading the book). I could also talk about murderers that hid themselves behind a badge to commit crimes against refugees that were trying to survive. Entire families murdered in the name of the law by criminals. Or, if I was in the mood for a happier subject, I could talk about music, jazz and how they are magical, in normal and fantasy worlds. Music can make you forget your pain and sorrows, can give you strength and comfort you when times get hard. Music can bring people together and also make you believe. Believe in a happier future, in a better time, in love, in happiness and in magic. In this story the magic is built on wishes and songs. I found this the best part of all this story, cose I believe this can be applied in our lives. Our wishes makes us move forward. Is because we wish and dream that we create wonderful things. It can take longer to come true, but we also make magic every day.
As I already said in some of my reviews, I don’t think there’s a perfect book and this has its flaws, but I do believe the good parts are brighter than the bad parts. I’m sure it has, but I can’t remember them. My mind was too busy with all the good parts to bother to remember the bad ones. I want the second book, really bad. And I think I have the perfect quote to finish this review:
"Oh, no. I'm seeing this through. How else am I gonna know how the story ends?"
This is exactly how I’m feeling right now. I need to know how the story ends.
If you are a visual person and would like to see some pics from that time to feel inside the story like I do, here are some pics I found about the dust bowl.

In the end of the book the author gives us a playlist that inspire her about this story. I’m not gonna give you all the playlist, I’m not that nice, but I’ll give you one song that I’m sure made me understand and like this book even more. The song is called "The Midnight Special" (traditional), sung by Huddie Ledbetter to John and Alan Lomax, 1934.
*An ARC was kindly provided by the publisher. But this in no way influenced my views on this book. This is my honest review.*

Ok, so, I have all these stuff in my mind and it’s really hard to get them in order right now, but maybe if I write it down it will be easy. Just like those movies where everything is messed up, but everything turns out alright in the end, or maybe not. I’m babbling, sorry, I do that sometimes *always* and things get really crazy, really fast.
Focus! I need to focus!
Ok, I think I got it.
CHAIN REACTION!

We wake up in the morning, drink coffee, go to work and spend our lives following a river that flows endlessly till the day we cease to exist. Every day we make choices, conscious or not that these choices have consequences. I’m not talking about the big decisions like choosing Team Jacob or Team Edward. I’m talking about the apparently small ones like choosing the brand of your shampoo. Something like that can change many lives.
How? Well, lets play a little game I like to call “Things that are so crazy it just may be true”.
You go to the supermarket, pick up a shampoo that smells good. Your money helps the shampoo company to get bigger and profit. With the profit they try to come up with new products. These new products have to be tested and so, many dogs, cats, rabbits and stuff are broth in to run these tests. Many of these little animals will die in pain because of allergic reaction to the chemicals in the shampoo’s formula.
So, if you think about it, countless pets will die by your hand for something that seem so frugal like a shampoo. Ok, sorry, I’m being mean, but I’m not lying. These stuff really happens and worse.
Now that I scared the crap out of you, lets get this review done with. LoL
The Plot - K is a grownup girl that works for her dad in a company that deals with money investments. Yeah, it’s a grownup book. No high school stuff here. So, she lives her dull life until one day her dad brings a guy for her to teach and she feels that things are about to change. If that wasn’t alarming enough, she gets a new neighbor too.
These two men appeared in her life and they are so hot and K find herself stuck between the two with no idea of how to choose.
Little did she know that her decision means more than simply choosing between two hot mans.
The Characters - We have:
K
She is smart, beautiful and completely dormant to everything around her.
A
He is like a 5yo, but in the best sense on the analogy. He feels every single thing around him like is the first time. Really endearing and sweet, but he has something dark and frightening that he hides.
E
He is perfect, at least on the outside. He is charming and beautiful like a diamond, and just as hard and cold.
M
She is super bright and love books and researching. I like her, I like her a lot. These are the main characters and the ones you should really know. They are well developed and have the necessary depth to be real and matter in the story.
The Writing - It’s in third person and, in this case, I think is the best way to tell this particular story. It’s a grownup writing and was a little different from what I’m used to. I don’t know how to explain, it just felt more serious than the writing I’m used to read. It doesn’t explain every detail along the way, so you just have to pay attention to the clues and have a good memory, cose if you can’t remember something it’s not gonna be reminded along the way. So, keep sharp. I particularly like this. I often find irritating the fact that some authors find necessary to keep reminding stuff all the freaking time. This slow the reading too much. Bottom line is, I like this reading. I don’t love it, but I like very much. Especially the fact that, just like the main character, I couldn’t say until the last minute, who was the bad guy and who was the good guy. A book that keeps you guessing all the way to the end has to be respected.
The Audiobook Recording - This is the part where I praise and bitch around at the same time. I’ll start with the good part. This is an amazing recording. I felt like I was listening to a movie. The soundtrack and even the background sounds were wonderful. But I have to admit that I was startle sometimes with the way too real sounds of phone rings and steps that appeared out of nowhere. And in the really scary parts, wow, I almost pee my pants. Really one of the best recordings I ever heard. My favorites were E, A and K’s dad. A was the best.
Now, lets get to the bitchy part of this. I want to let this really clear, I don’t know any of these narrators and don’t have anything against any of them. My opinion is based only in their reading. That being said, Justine Eyre’s reading sucks. Really. She has this really annoying nasal sound that makes me want to tear my ears off. In some parts she read just fine, but in others I had to stop and take a deep breath. I honestly find my self skipping the audiobooks that she reads. It’s not worth the pain.
Considerations - You know when you read a book and there’s the main character that have these two hot guys that are all over her? And she feels attracted to them, and just can’t say who she likes more? But she has to decide between the two? Yeah, this is really normal for a paranormal story these days, but what we don’t see much is a choice that actually means something more than just choosing between two hot guys.
K has some really important decision to make that can cost more than her heart and her panties. This is about seeing things beyond your safe fence, to open your eyes to the things around you and really live your life instead of just going through it. It’s about turning something evil and using it to make a difference and change things for the better. To be more than people think or expect of you. To live up to your expectations and no one else’s. To stick up to what you believe no matter what people tell you. And also, the meaning of love. Real love, with no strings and no boundaries. Love that allowed you to choose yourself instead of putting you in danger. To free you even if that means heartbreak. That unselfish love that we don’t see very often.
This book was a nice surprise and was kindly provided to me in exchange for a honest review by the Griffyn Ink Publishing .

.The big changes in our lives don’t happen the way we plan. The big changes happen in the little details. In the extra second it took for you to leave your house making you lose your bus; in the way the cashier talked to you; in the little kid that smiled at you from across the street. The big changes, the ones that really matter, arrive without warning and when you realize what happened it’s too late to stop it. When your eyes are open you can’t close them and forget what you’ve learned or seen. If you watched Constantine or Matrix, you know what I’m talking about.
The Plot — It’s revolutionary! Skeeter is a single girl living in Mississippi and wants to be a writer. Following the wise advice from a big shot editor, she comes up with the idea for writing a book showing the point of view of the help. At first you may think that this plot is not that exceptional, but you have to remember this was in the sixties, racism was in full force back then, and the place was Mississippi of all places. Black women, the ones that raised the white kids, cared for them and had to see them grow just to follow the same path as their racist parents.
You can see how that side of the story can be dangerous to be given voice in a society that accept the beating up of an old black man as punishment for using the white folks bathroom. When the price of your words is so high, a book full of them can become a death sentence. See? I told you this plot were revolutionary.
The Characters — OH—MY—GOSH! Ok, ok, I need to calm down *taking a deep breath* since this book is told by 3 of the most amazing women I have ever met, I’ll focus on them first.
Aibileen Clark
.She is the first one we meet in this story. Aibillen is starting her new job in a new house. She take care of kids and helps the white moms to take care of the hose and their children. Once the kid is grown she moves on to another family. This is her life and she was fairly fine with it until her own son dies. Her heart darkens and she is no longer so forgiven as once she was. Now she sees the things that she once pretended not to see, her lost has changed her.
In the Leefolt's house Aibileen takes care of little Mae Mobley.

Through her eyes we see changes happening and how appearances can be miss leading. Love runs deeper than blood or skin color. With Aibileen I'v learn that one word can change the destiny of a person. One word of encouragement can make a person believe in itself as much as a disproving one can destroy souls and crush dreams.
"You is kind.
You is smart.
You is important."
Minny Jackson
. "Minny is "every Southern white woman's nightmare. I adore her."
She is wonderful and a kick ass maid. She cooks and bakes like no one, especially cakes, and have a fierce tongue on her snappy mouth. In everyone's eyes she is strong, tough and nobody messes with her. In reality, Minny is a cat that was burned too many times and learned to attack first and always be prepared for disappointments.
After some stuff she goes to work in Celia's house.
. There she faces situations and choices that change her in a deep way. With her I've learn that a hard exterior can hide a heart of gold, and that open up can be scary but sometimes is worth it.
Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan
.She is the black sheep among the white and fluffy ones. She comes home after finishing college and is trying to find Constantine, the black maid that raised her.
.She is a member of the Bridge Club and is also the editor of their Journal where she writes about the social events and stuff like that. She gets a job in a local newspaper and is trying to get her dreams started but all her mom can think is how her daughter ain’t married yet. Talk about disappointment.
.Remember what I’ve said in the beginning of this review? About how the big changes can sneak up on you? Well, this started with little signals, but the one that I took to my heart and made me change was the advice that Skeeter received after sending a letter to a publisher. It was something like: “Write about what disturbs you, particularly if it bothers no one else.”
How many times we see things that bother u, but is something that looks so normal to everybody else? Just because it’s done a long time doesn’t mean is right. After this you can start open you eyes as well, but be aware cose once you starts seeing you can’t go back to being blind.
So, sparks happens and Skeeter puts the chain of events in motion to what would be the biggest thing that ever happened in her life and many others.
.All the other characters as amazing too and have a fundamental part in the whole story. Just like a puzzle where each of the little pieces is irreplaceable.
One in particular is:
Hilly Holbrook
.Boogie man has a face, and a southern accent too. LoL She is the devil, but I can’t say I hate her. That’s just how she was raised, racist and mean to people. With her I’ve learned that even a terrible person like her can have a heart. Hilly is kind, sweet and loving with her kids. I can’t hate a person that can love that much even if she is evil. Because of her I knew I would love this book.
The Writing — Oh, the writing,,,, I love it, love it, love it,,,,,,,
.Yep,, that’s pretty much what happened. LoL
So, the story is told mainly by three POVs, Aibileen, Minny and Skeeter. In the beginning I thought that it could be confusing, but this author played so well that I was in love with it.
The way she writes remind me of the book The Color Purple, in how the words have character and feelings in it. This is one of the most heartfelt and unique writing I have ever read.
The Audiobook Recording — Oh, the audiobook recording,, it’s enchanted *sigh*
.It’s read by three different narrators, well, four actually, and this makes all the difference for me. Each one of them had its unique voice, way of speaking and that made them seem even more real.
The voice, the tone, the volume it was all great. The reading had a great flow to it and the audio was pleasant to my ears. The interpretation of the text was simply sublime.
Pay attention to these narrators cose these are keepers and one of them is in the movie:

Considerations — O laughed, I cried and I loved every minute of it.
My grandfather was raised in a farm long, long, long ago, and I remember his stories about the woman that raised him from crib. She was a black maid and he used to tell me how he never forgot her. When he got sick, he called her name during the fever. Some of the stories in this book made me remember this and how I never really understood what that meant till now.
Ok,I could talk about this book seven ways till Sunday, but this is getting too long and I don’t want this to get larger than the book, so I’m just gonna say: I LOVE THIS BOOK AND EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!

The plot -Cat and Bones are married, Cat is off her job and life couldn’t be more sweet. Right? Righ??? No, cose now cat is having these dreams about a blond and dangerous vamp. I know, what you’r going to say, but no, it’s not Bones. It’s a French called Gregor and guess what? He says that he is cat’s real hubby. This couldn’t get worse right? Right???? Wrong again, Greg is called dream snatcher for a reason, he snatch people from their dream. Pretty cool right? Well, he is a mean master vamp and he’s now after Cat. Tricky thing is, how she going to run from him when he can find her so easy? Pretty Fred Kruger right? That’s what I thought too. LoL

The Characters- We see the characters over a different light and even tough this is the 4 book I got really surprised with it. Oh, Queen Marie is in it and she is sooooo cool. I was intrigued my her in the prequel and now I can say, this is a kick ass character and I sure want to see more about her in this series. Cat is jumping the gun as always and Bones, is , well, do I really need to say how awesome he is???? Ok, he is , he is, he is wonderful and I get week on the knees just thinking of him. Now It’s the time for us to meet another hot Bones. I give you the hot and sexy Andrew Stetson

Oh, he is so hot, so, so, oh my,, Oh, I can’t take it
![description]()
Somebody catch me.
The Written - Fabulishous, simply fabulishous. I’m even going to make me a T-shirt that says it. I S2 Jeaniene Frost.

This will go great with my Cat kicks Ass Jacket

and my Bones’ Been Here panties.

The recording for the Audio Book - This is getting really old. This girl is amazing. Queen Marie has this so, totally perfect accent. Vald’s just sopt on. I love this chick. That’s all I’m saying.
Considerations - We can lie to people all we want, but the worse liar is the one that lies to itself. We see trust issues here and how we need to forget what people expect you to be and just be yourself. Follow your heart and all that crap. Found out who you truly are and own it. Oh, and lets just not forget that people don’t read minds and even those who read can’t always know what you’re thinking and feeling unless you tell them. Bigger damages are made by what you don’t say then what you do say. Didn’t we learn anything with Wuthering Heights????

The plot -Cat and Bones together again and above that on a leash LoL So Cat is Bones’ boss now and she gets to boss him around. How cool is that?????? Superduper cool. But happiness is not for ever and now this really old queen is after them. Yep, like I didn’t see that one coming.

The Characters-Cat’s mom. Wow, she is like, I mean, wow. She has my reapect. That’s all I’m saying. Cat’s dad, Oh my, I believe I can’t hate a fictional character more then I hate him. I hate him, I hate him, I hate him with all my guts. I wish I could cut him and watch his pain as it grew back so I could cut again, and again, and again. Well, you got the point, I hate him. Oh, but there’s some really cool characters too. Vlad, we get to meet Vlad!!!!! I mean, this is a biiig deal bro. And he is , no, I’ll not say another word. Go read the book to find that out. Yep, I am a mean girl. Go tell on me to your mama, Cry baby. Cat is still the Cat we know and love. Bones, oh, do I even have to say it? Ok, I love him, love him, love him, love him.
This is the part that everyone was expecting and that makes this whole review worth it. The Bones pic. So, we already had James Marsters and Justin Hartley, now I give you Henry Cavill:

Isn’t he dreamy, Simon?

Yeah, I agree.
The Written - Again, this author doesn’t let me down. Luve the dialogues, the internal ones too. Cat has this crazy logic about life that is hilarious to read it. Oh and the love parts. Let me tell you, I’ll never think about a jealousy driven fight the same way again. So hot that makes my popsicle melt. LoL

The recording for the Audio Book - Ok, this is waste of time by now so I’ll just say it I love it, I love it, I love, I love it. This girl is fantastic and I love her. I guess I made my point about my head over hills passion over this recording and this narrator.
Considerations - I consider this series a kick ass one and you must read it. Now! LoL. Ok, in this book we see possessiveness issues as well as the old racism we all are familiar with. But there’s trust and love and how people can surprise you even though you know them your whole life. How someone can be blind by love and all of that. Decisions are made in this book and I have to confess, I cried my eyes out with it. I’m talking about a series that had already 6 books when I read this book and still it scared the heck out of me. That’s not cool Jeanine, not cool at all.

The plot - Kate is flying solo now and is working for the Big Guy now. She has a new life and a new name. Four years has passed since she met Bones. Ok, this is where I can’t take it. You know the plot. If I get more in it I’ll start crying again. I’m reading the 5 book and this part still hurt me, missing Bones. The Synopses says it all.

The Characters- I’ll try to be brief here cose this part I love about this series and I’ll end up extra babbling over it if I don’t watch myself. Lots of new characters all of them fab in their particular way. Even the bad guys are just the way we love to hate. Cat = kick ass, Cat’s mom = annoying and I want to punch her , Bones = oh, yes, yes, yeeeeeees. I get chills all over me just thinking of him. He is funny, mean, wicked, play dirty but above it all, he knows how to treat a lady no, really, he never lay a hand on a lady unless she can handle it and would never, ever, force himself on a lady. But this has never being put to the test cose, come on, It’s Bones we are talking about. He doesn’t need to force nothing on anyone.
Ok, this is the part where I put a Bones pic, but I decided to put a different one so you guys can pic the one you like the most. Last review was James Marsters, in this one I give you Justin Hartley:

Sooooo hot.

See? He even has a red head= Cat :D

Blond hair, brown eyes, prrrrrrrrrrrrr,,,
%5B1%5D.jpg)
Ok, I’m getting a little dizzied over here, lets get back to business now, shall we?
The Written - The dialogues are the best part of her writing. They are witty and have this wonderful flow to it. I love her style and since I’m reading book 5 I can say that it stays awesome along the series. Oh, and addictive too cose I can’t seem to stop reading it. I dream about it and can’t stop thinking about it neither.
The recording for the Audio Book - I love it, I love it, I love, I love it. This girl is fantastic and I love her. Did I mention that I love it? Yeah, I love it. For one simple reason = she acts through her voice and is so spot on it amazes me. The voice tone, the way she say the lines, I got a real serious case of nonstop grinning every time I heard her reading cose she makes the text really come to life and I believe that this is one of the main reasons I love this series so much.
Considerations - Racism is a real palpable theme in this series as well as prejudice and pride. I can say that this series is like candy apple. All the sugary sweet and deliciousness on the outside with the healthy interior.

This book is fun and addictive in a really non sense way, but if you look close enough you’ll find the serious stuff in it too. The way Cat’s mom treats her is an example of this. The fact that Cat decided on her on that leaving Bones would be better for everyone even without talking to him about it. How, even though Cat is half vamp, she don’t like them. You get my point, right?

On my Hunger Games’ review, I said that the book could be summarized in one sentence, well, the second book is not much different.
The sentence is:
"If you put enough pressure on coal it turns to pearls."

You must be thinking I’m really dumb, right? Pearls don’t come from coal.

Well, that’s not the point.
I want you to take a deep breath and read this sentence aloud. Analyze every word and the meaning behind it.
Nothing? Ok, since interpretation is something really relative, I’ll tell you what this sentence means to me and how I decided to see things.
Coal is something that has nothing special about it on the outside. It’s not pretty, pleasant and you don’t give much tough about it. That’s Kat. She is the central character and is not very appealing if you think about her. She is cold and dry. That is who she is on normal circumstances.
Coal, when under pressure, mind blowing pressure, reacts changing itself and, as we all know, becomes something shining and extremely precious, it becomes a diamond.

This also applies to Kat. Just like in the first book, Kat becomes something wonderful and magical when under extreme pressure.
Ok, but what the heck the pearl has to do with everything? Ok,let me finish. *humpf*
I see things like this, Kat is pressured to be what people want. To show glitter and shock everyone around her. That’s what everyone around her is aiming, but she doesn’t become a diamond like everyone expects her to; Kat stops being a simple and plain coal and changes to something that nobody would ever expect: a pearl.
That’s what this sentence means, extraordinary things happens under extraordinary circumstances. At least to me, it’s what it means.
Ok, now that I did my babbling, let to the main points about this wonderful book.
The Plot- Kat and Peeta are back to normal life. Yeah, right. Like there’s such a thing as “normal life” after the Hunger Games.
Kat thinks that the worst is over, Peeta thinks the worst is over, I used to think that. We were all terribly wrong.
The Characters - In the first book we didn’t see much of the characters around Kat, but that’s understandable since she was focus in more important stuff like survival and lamb stew.
In the second book the sight is larger and we get to know better the people behind the faces and the names.
Peeta, he is trusty, loving, and charismatic and everything Kat isn’t. He is colorful while Kat is gray; he is light while Kat is shadow; he is the beautiful frosting on top of the wonderful cake while Kat is the coal that burns in silence and keeps everyone away burning even the ones she love.
Gale, he is Kat’s soul hunter, her allied. She trusts him with her life, and the life of her sister. Still, her heart is something different all together.
We meet President Snow and in the moment his name appears, this is the one that comes into my mind:

This is not the guy that will play him in the movie, but while I listen to the book this was the face that went with the voice in my head. With the lips a little more plump. LoL
The Writing - I love her writing. I could elaborate on that, but this is pointless. I love it cose it makes me see what the character sees, it makes me feel like the character feel and, above all, never fails to surprises me to the point of gasps taking me to the verge of tears.
The Audio Book recording - her tone, her passing, it’s all ok.
Considerations - I love this book. I love it more than the first. What a shock cose a lot of the reviews here says that the first was the best of the three. I wasn’t expecting much, but this one is really good.
Here is the little spoiler, so if you haven’t read the book I don’t advise you the read this.
Ok, so the thing a love about this book and the whole series? I can never guess what’s gonna happen. What turn the plot will take and, most of all, how it always takes me by surprise and bring me to tears when I’m reading in public. Soooo embarrassing.
The fact that kat and Peeta are back in the arena and all the changes that happens I feel like a deer lost in the big city. I keep getting blinded by the light and I can’t see things straight until it’s too late.
But, most of all, I love how Kat says everything I’m thinking while I’m reading it and how freak out that makes me.
The game in this book are really bloody, for real and I love how the things escalate, but there were 2 things that bugged me.
1- The fact that the killing was so fast that 3 days felt like 3 weeks. They were starving and thirsty all the freaking time. Hello, 3 freaking days. How’s that even possible?
2- The lame way that Haymitch won his Hunger Games. So lame.
Aside from that, I was blown away by the twists and turns in this book as much or even more than the first.
I want to say so much, but I can’t cose I don’t want to spoile it. Read the book and see how a Coal can become a beautiful, strong and shiny pearl.

WARNING!!! THIS IS A TOTALY FANGIRL REVIEW, MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS AND SURELY CONTAINS MASSIVE VISUAL AID THAT CAN AND WILL CAUSE BONERS IN GIRLS AND, POSSIBLY BOYS TOO. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
The Plot - Is not that special, really. Girl is the result of a rape committed by a vamp. Mother resents her and she kills vamps so she can get back at her dad (that she never met). Meets a vamp and makes a deal with the devil. The plot is not what got me, really.
The Characters - I love them and they are why I fell for this book. Cat is strong and has the bolls to challenge a vamp to a fight even when trapped by a master vampire. Her mother is hurt, I get it, but I don’t like her. She is weak and is messed up beyond my ability to care. I hate prejudice and she is a big monument to it wrapped in self-pity. Get a grip women! Cat’s grannies,, oh, Don’t get me started on them. Little minded people. I could smack them upside the head. Bones,,, I can’t talk about him without day dream. This makes me look so LAMO,,, He is ,, wonderful and I don’t care that he is some kind of Spike’s version in a parallel universe,, he is hot, smart and talks nasty like no one.
After I listen to Bones’ description I can say that I picture him like every Buffy fan ,, Spike. The hair, the high check bones, the accent, the attitude and the awesomeness,, hot, hot, hot

I think I just got a literary boner all of the sudden LoL

The Writing - Luv it. First peeps perspective. Always a pleasure. The dialogues, specially the internal ones, are wonderfully amusing and I kept grinning al the time. Is fast and easy just like Bones LoL,, sorry I couldn’t let that one pass LoL

Don’t fret about it, love. I want you just as you are.

The Recording of the Audio Book - I love this recording. Tavia Gilbert is wonderful. She acts and does everything to make the text come to life. Her brit accent is one of the things that made me love bones in the first place. Sometimes I think people mix brit accent with drunk talk cose I’ve heard some terrible brit accents. Bloodlinesis one example of them. I would love it much more if Adrian was read by Tavia. Ok,, she is awesome and I love her reading. The acting and how she really gasps when it says in the book. I’ll sure look for more audio books that are read by this girl. Tavia Gilbert, YOU ROCK!!!
Considerations - This is the part where I go all babbling about how I fell head over hills for a fictional character, but first I’ll say a few things that I found important in this book.
This book contains sex, descriptive one and nasty talk that got me giggling out of breath. You can see how that made me look, not cool. I read it simply for fun and I found it a light reading and some really funny parts that lit up my day and put a smile on my face. This I can say is not a ground breaking book and I can’t call it a literary master piece, but it has its values and it has some important stuff going on. Cat is a half breed. There for she faces discrimination just like a human in these days do. You would be amazed to know that in this day and age people still have prejudice against black people, gay and everyone that is simply different than the majority. If that wasn’t enough, she is the product of a rape and even though her mother kept her and love her, she still sees her assaulter every time she looks at Cat. This plus the fact that she lives in a small town makes all the worse. People look at her and see the bastard that surely will follow the steps of her skanky mother. This book can be easy and fun, but it still made me pounder about questions like that.
Now that I had that off my chest, I can rent about other stuff. Bones.

I know I said I would review this later, but I can’t help myself. I need to share what I’m feeling, I need it now!!!

I know I said I would review this later, but I can’t help myself. I need to share what I’m feeling, I need it now!!!
.The Plot — I don’t even know where to begin. This plot is crazy, man. I’ll try to make this simple, but I can’t promise anything. So, Karue is this teenager girl living in Prague. She loves to draw, have a kick ass friend and a boyfriend you want to kick in the ass. She has blue hair and hamsa's eyes tattooed on her palms. She works doing errands for a chimera named Brimstone. All is well and crazy as always until some strange black hand marks starts to appear on Brimstone doors all around the world. That, my friends, is the first sign of the vent hitting the shit. No, is not the other way around, cose when the vent hit the shit, oh man, the shit hit everywhere and everyone.
The Characters — Unique doesn’t even cover how awesome these characters are.
Let’s start by the main character:
Karou

She is talented and kicks ass like no one else. I love how sweet and vindictive she can be. Just like a real girl LoL. In the beginning of the book she had her heart broken and she makes him pay in the most enjoyable way evah. I love her.
Zuzana

She is Karou’s best friend and the scariest short girl you will ever meet. Zuz is an artist and her mind is out of this world. Maybe that’s why she’s Karou’s best friend and why I love her so.
Kazimir

Remember how I told you that Karou had her heart broken? Well, this is the jack ass that broke it. Selfish, chitting, drop dead sexy, sweet talker, son of a bitch, jack ass. Or, as Brimstone once said, an Inessential penis.
Akiva

This is what I call an essential penis. A warrior with flaming wings and a bleeding heart. *sigh*
The Writing — Oh, this writing is every reader’s wet dream. I don’t like much details cose my attention span is, as I said many, many times before, of a 5yo. So it took me a while to get into this book, but I have to say that once I was in I didn’t want to get out. Reading this book was like being naked feeling a thousand butterflies over my body. It may not seem too good, but the wings flapping tickle me. I like tickles. *giggle* Bottom line is, I feel ashamed and unworthy of writing a review of a book so wonderfully writing. There are no words I can use to make it justice. So I’ll give you a pic to show how awesome it is.
.The Audio Book Recording — I love this girl accent. Zuz reading made me go and start to learn speak Romanian. For reals. I went to google and started to try to speak. So lame. The volume was nice, the tone had a nice modulation and the interpretation was really good. This book is subdivided in parts and there’s a really cool soundtrack that made it really scary and dramatic. I really like this recording. It really put me in the mood.
Considerations — I love this book. It's the kind of book you keep trying to decipher every step of the way and makes you crazy how you can't ever get it right. It drove me crazy the fact I couldn't figure it out on my own what Brimstone did with all those teethes. Even though I love this book to the point of wanting to start stalking its author, I have to admit that this book isn’t for everyone. In order to love this book you need to have a very open mind and really like craziness. You also have to love fairy tales and star-crossed lovers. Ok, imagine this: Romeo & Juliet +Tristan & Isolde + A Midsummer Night's Dream + Matrix + Iron Fey + Pocahontas + Helen of Troy = PURE AWESOMENES !!!!!
I can’t say more or else I’ll ruin the most wonderful story ever. Just trust me. You need to read this!!!!! NOW!!!!! Really, this book made me want to dye my hear blue and made me draw an eye on my palm with a pen, while I was at work for crying out loud!!! GO.READ.THIS.BOOK.NOW!

The plot - As simple as it says on the synopses. Vamps got out of the coffin, people go gaga over it. Some don’t like to know they are snack and there are others that can’t wait to get on the menu of some hot vamp. Merit is the first. She is like:” Oh, vamps. You are so dead to me. Go to your tomb or something.” But then she gets attacked and voilà, she is one of them now. Karma’s a bitch. Someone should’ve told her this.

The Characters- They are fun and I like them already, but this is just the first book so I don’t have all that much to say about them. Just that Merit is a kick ass baby vamp, Mallory is a super-duper friend, I love Merit’s grandfather, he is the best. Catcher, well, I wouldn’t mind if he catches me. Got it? Cached me? LoL Ok, is not that funny, but he is pretty hot and that’s the point. Morgan is so charming and wickedly smart. I really have to keep my eye on him. Ethan, Ethn, Ethan, What will I do with you? He is one piece of hot, blond, wicked, kick ass, drop dead sexy, want to bite you, want you to bite me vampire. Is it just me or just got hot in here? Oh, lets not forget the nerd. Jeff is sooo nerdylishous. I would totally date him and would be unforgettable. When we kiss would be like atomic explosion <.clapping hands and spreading my arms for emphasis.> Yeah, legendary stuff right here.
The Written - This author has this light writing that is effortless to get into. She got my attention and my smile for all the story. It’s first person POV and it’s Marit’s POV so I get to see every detail of the hotties that she meets with. Besides, her inter monologue got me cracking up LoL really fun writing right here people.
The recording for the Audio Book - Nice reading, nice voice and nice interpretation of the text. She doesn’t forces the guys’ voice and gives them the attitude I love so much in the writing. I really like it.
Considerations - This is the first book so we get only the tip of the iceberg in terms of story and development. But I can say that this book set me up for a great ride. I love this book but I’ll be honest: this is for pleasure, guilty and delicious pleasure.
And now, I’ll leave you with some visual add:
My Merit:
My Ethan,, prrrrrrrr:
My Catcher,, prrr :
My Mallory:
My Morgan, prrrr:
My Jeff, cose he is nerdylishious,, prrrr:
That’s it for now guys .
XoXo

As I read this book I couldn’t stop thinking about the Addams family. The dark humor, the emotionless expressions and the simple disdain over the humans feelings in general.
The crazy uncle, the dark and scary dad, the mom that can rule the house with a steel voice, is all there, but with an extra evil souse on top.

The Plot – Think of all the things you know about vampire and unicorns. Think in all the stereotypes. Think of all the glitter and sparkly (not the vamp’s glitter cose this ain’t Twilight, I mean the Unicorns LoL) Now throe it all away, cose this is something completely new and you don’t want to hung on your ancient believes when you are reading this. The key is to keep your mind open to everything you see. I’m not saying that I fell for everyone of the explanations and theories in the story. I mean, I still don’t believe in that crazy story about the unicorns and their propose in life and stuff. Does that mean I love the story less: Hell no!! The story was awesome even with the nonsense parts.

As you can see in the Summary, Pearls is an average Vamp, going around, biting necks, hanging out with her vamp boo and kicking some ass defending her territory.

Pretty (para)normal, right? Well, but that changed when she met with an,(drums, please) UNICORN!!!!! LoL

Ok, Ok, that doesn’t sound so terrifying, but he is not that cute. He stakes her in the heart and that’s the end of her (un)life.
Well, not literally. Figuratively is more like it. She starts to act funny and have thoughts that are not her usual thoughts. She thinks that she may have some bug or something, but then stuff got really mess up. She discovers that she can go out in the sun.*really dramatic music*

That’s my favorite part of the book. The wonder of seeing something new and wonderful for the first time. Having something that you never imagined being possible to have. I certainly went to stand in the sun like a fool after reading this part of the book. And it was wonderful. In a dorky kind of way, but wonderful, nonetheless.
So, the plan changes. Her family is supposed to host this super duper important vamp party and they want to use Pearl’s new ability to “hunt” dinner for the party. Piece of cake, right? Wrong!!!! Pearl is having some uncomfortable feelings and don’t know what to do anymore. The party is coming and her time is running out. What to do? What to do? What to do? What to do? What to do? *squeal*

Pretty unusual plot. Me like it!
The Characters – Pearl is my fave.

She is cold and shows no emotion or respect towards humans. To her they are nothing but a meals and, sometimes, entertainment.

There’s a part where they are all gathered around a table talking about gossip and the grand event wile a human guy is immobilized on top of the table like a xmas turkey about to be eaten by the happy family. Our heroin feels annoyed by his constant moaning, whimpering, and stuff. I know what you’re thinking, but don’t be so hard on her. Is not like you got any emotional attachment to the turkey on Xmas day either.
I love her dark sense of humor, the way she sees and experience things are so unique and totally unexpected. The other characters are cool too, but the cool stuff is due to the way Pearl sees them. She even nicknamed a few. LoL So funny.

The Writing – How can I describe her writing? *scratching my head* What words can I use to tell how good it is? *squinting my eyes* How can I explain the dazzling influence it had on me? *rubbing the bridge of my nose*
Ok, it will be hard, but I’ll try. Imagine you are in a magic show watching the Great what-ever-is-the-name doing magic and stuff. Picture the light, the shadows and the skanky girl in a bikini on the stage. Razzle dazzling you into believing that magic is real. The voice and movements are so enticing that you can’t help but fall for it. After the show you are left you a goofy smile and a star trucked look. Do you believe magic is real after that? No. But in that moment it didn’t matter what was real. You still enjoyed yourself and that feeling makes you want to believe in magic.
That was the way I felt after reading this book.
Considerations – This is more like a warning. This book can make you do things. Yep. Before I read it I was a (not so)normal girl with (not so)normal life living my life like (not) any other girl. After I read this book I’m a chocolate chip mint ice cream addict that gets all dorky when sees the sun. *shaking my head*
What have you done to me Durst????? *raising my arms and shaking my fists*

I'm in love with this book. Everyone should read it, really!
I need to go to France!

This is what I was thinking the whole time wile reading this book....more I'm in love with this book. Everyone should read it, really!
I need to go to France!

This is what I was thinking the whole time wile reading this book. I have never cared much for Paris or that song that people often talk about when they think of Paris, La Vie Rose or something,
I have never understood the fascination for the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame or any other post card places there. I would be happy and fine this way and didn’t think I was missing anything by not visiting Paris.
This all changed when I started reading Anna and The French Kiss.
I know, I know,,, this is really cliché, but love is cliché and I fell in love with this book. I don’t care if people look ate the cover and think “Oh, is just another chick lit story.”
This is not just another chick lit story and if you give it a chance, you will see that there’s much more to it then just a love affair between two teenagers in Paris. I mean, it is but is not just that. It’s about change your whole life and how that is a really hard thing to do. It’s about finding who you really are even though in the end you discover that the person you are is not the person you thought you were in the begin with.
I know, I know,, it’s hard to explain but this whole fundamental stuff is in this “chick lit” story and is wonderfully put it in a way that is not that complicated.
The Plot - Is simple and at the same time is complicated. Is simple because is right in your face. You don’t have to think to hard and is not a mystery to be solved, but the questions and ramification of the actions are just as complicated as in real life. The indecision to make the right choice, the fear of loosing the ones you really care about, the pain of betrayal, all the things we have to deal with wile growing up and that can really freak you out.
The Characters - I like the characters and, I know is weird, but I felt that the guys really talk like,, you know,, guys. I could almost hear them speak and the faces that they would make. They really reminded me of my friends and how they would respond. The girls were very well developed too. Anna is strong, vulnerable and just a freak that likes to clean and organize everything around her. LoL So adorable. Bridge is just like that crazy and gorgeous friend you envy and love to the bone. St. Clair, oh, I can’t say his name without smiling. Etienne, see? I’m already smiling like a fool
Ok, you’ve got the point, right?
The Writing - Is as lovely as a summer rain. I know what you’ll say. “Rain? How can rain be lovely?” Summer is hot and when it rains it cools you but the sun is still in the sky so you get that wonderful cool feeling, that exquisite rain smell and still can appreciate the light. The way that the sun light reflex on the rain drops is like a million rainbows all around you. See? Rain can be magic and lovely, so stop whining about it.
So, the writing, is pretty amazing. And the best part is that it gets you when you least expect. I was like, this book is OK, and then I saw myself sit in the movies, something brush my thigh and when I look up there was St. Clair. That was freaky, really. It was like 1am and my brain just froze. Yep, this book is good enough to make you have visions about it. LoL
Consideration - I just love the way that Paris comes to life in the book. All the wonderful things to see and eat. Wile I was reading I felt like I was there with Anna and experiencing what she was going trough. I really love this book and the way that it has opened my eyes to a new world. I’m sure going to read Lola and The Boy Next Door because of this book.
I just have to say on thing, although I love the way that all the relationships were developed in such a natural way, but there were times I felt like banging Anna’s head against the wall. She can really be blindsided by her own insecurity. This bugged me very much. Especially the things that should have being said and she just didn’t have the balls to say so.
But I love this book in all of it’s good and bad, because the good parts are really wonderful and make the not so good parts almost non existent.

Review 11/06/2011
The Plot - It's original, really original. Kaylee has a secret that no one knows. When she is near someone that is going to die she screams. Not just an 'I broke my foot scream' but a really, really 'tear up your throat scream'.
The Characters - This is a short story, so I couldn't know much of them. Nevertheless, it was enough to know that Keilee is a teen with some really dark secret and has to hide or else she'll be in deep shit. Her aunt is trying to be eighteen again, her uncle loves her and wants the to help, but doesn't know how, her cousin sounds like a bitch to me, and so on. But the character that really gave me the creeps was Lydia. Who the heck is she? And, most important, what the heck is her secret?
The Writing - This is one of those writers that make things come to life. Reading her description of the scream building up inside Keilee I could literally feel it inside of me. I could hear it in my ears. By the time I was done with it my throat was sore like I had screamed along with her.
![description]()
The Recording - Really good, but the guy's voices wasn't a guy's voices. She read as it was, without forcing the voice to make like a guy's voice. That was nice and better then if she had tried, cose her voice is really girly like, and would have been weird. She has a nice tone and does the reading very well.
Considerations - I've heard lots of great things about this series before and it was on my TBR list for a long time, but I never got around to read it. I was missing out. This is a breath of fresh air and I needed something different to read. The thing that I luv the most was the way that the little things were being uncovered and the more I discovered the more I needed to know. The air of mystery was breathtaking and the straps were just down right creepy. In the end I had to stop myself from jumping into the next book.

This story is cute and sweet and a little scary, but not much.

Mandy is a girl that never shows any emotion.

Then her big sister goes away. Mandy loves her sister deeply and is suffering with this, but her face remains flat as an ironing board. So, so sad, right?

Her sister gives her a drawing book as a goodbye gift, so that Mandy could put there all her feelings, memories and whatever crosses her mind.
Mandy loved her gift and spent all her day drawing monsters on it. Monsters of all colors and sizes.

Nothing unusual there, right? Well, nothing until the monster decided to escape and run around.

Yep, the crap definitely hit the vent. And I loved every minute of it LoL
The drawings are wonderful and I spend most of the time drooling over it. The character are something else too. I know I’m grown up and all, but I love this book
*An ARC was kindly provided by the publisher. But this in no way influenced my views on this book. This is my honest review.*

This is the perfect book for Halloween, hands down.
Ode to Anna.
Her eyes are like dark pools that stare back at you
Her long flowing black hair sure is something to see too
She is deathly beautiful and had her life tragically stole away
If you stood close enough you would feel the smell of decay
But you still will be drawn to her and will find your end
An end so terrible and of witch you can not fend
The sigh of her will leave you instantly out of breath
Because looking at her is like looking straight into death
She will tear you apart and the last thing you will see is the flood
All the red that makes her who she is, Anna Dressed in Blood.
I wish I was a better poet, but at least I tried :P
Ok, lets get this review started, shall we?
The Plot - It's really original although it kind of reminded me of Supernatural in some ways. Nevertheless, it has a new perspective on the whole ghost buster scenery.
The Characters - Cas is so cute and I could feel him. I shutter with his nightmares and smiled with his awkward conversations. Carmel is strong and much more then a cheerleader. Thomas is a nerd, but, just like the other characters, he is more then miss the eyes. Anna, she is my favorite. She killed countless innocents and I still love her, that is quite disturbing to confess.
The Writing - It's from Cas' perspective and it's interesting to see things from the guy's perspective for a change. It's not that descriptive, but I don't like to stall in little details so I'm cool with that. This author is a poet, I really like her writing and the fact that one thing is perfectly connected to another. There's not a dull moment in the whole story. She has a really nice flow in her writing.
Considerations - Once I've read that the key for a great story was having ordinary people doing extraordinary things and extraordinary people doing ordinary things. In this book I see it and I believe that it's one of the things that made me love this book so much. Cas and Anna are surrounded be the supernatural and yet they find some shred of normality. Carmel and Thomas are ordinary people having to deal with extraordinary changes in their lives.
It's the adversities that makes you the person you are.
I love that even though they were in school this was like a background on the story. Anna's house and the stuff that she pulls on Cas are breath taken. I'm still dazed with how visual this book is and I can say that this book is not for teens. I had nightmares reading it.
I wish I could say more, but the beauty of this book are in the suspense and if I say too much it will ruin it for those that haven't read it yet.
So I'm just going to say: This book is trilling, spooky, warm, funny, cold and extremely powerful. All at the same time.

Ok, after thinking a lot, a looot, I finely wrote my review.
I had soooo many things I wanted to say about this book, but 90% were spoilers and I don't like spoilers. The magic of this book is its surprises. If I reveal too much, that would ruin the book for those who hadn't read it yet. So, after a lot of writing and rewriting, I finely came to an almost non spoiler review that I think says the essential of my honest opinion about it.
The summary you can read on the book description so I'll go straight to my review :
The Plot - I found it very unique. A world where people were divided in factions based on their believes. That was one of the things that made me consider my values and the way I see life and society and stuff. Really heavy stuff. LoL I loved the twists and how it kept coming back to personal questions that reflected bigger issues. How it shows us that the biggest battles can be with our selves. I think I get a little philosophic when I think about this book, but it really made me think about this stuff. Once you read it, you'll see what I'm talking about. *wink*
The Characters - I love the characters in this story. They are so easy to relate to and they feel so real. Beatrice (Tris) is a strong girl that with one single decision changes her entire world. We see her grow with the situations, discovering her strength and defeating her weakness. Four is this tuff and mysterious guy that we meet once in our lives and it makes us feel afraid and excited at the same time. Peter is the sleazy guy that we want to punch in the face. Al is , well, you guys get the point, right? Each of the characters is unique in their own way and with each of them we can learn something. I sure did LoL.
The Writing - I really like the way that she doesn't over describe the things. The first time I see someone I never go over the details and when I read a book that describe every little thing I tend to get bored. Is like, I don't know this person yet so I don't care much how many freckles it has. This author is just the way I like. First she say the overall (hair, height, things we first notice in one person in real life) and then, as the story goes, she gives the little details that makes them so unique, like when you get to know a person, little by little. This books is 1º person view and I love it because I can see trough that person eyes and feel what she feels. During my reading I often catch my self gasping and my heart sped up all the time. I'm terrified of heights and every time she had to jump (witch happens allot) I felt that hollow sensation in the pit of my stomach. Other things also made my heart jump and got me that chilling sensation in the pit of my stomach, but I'll not going to get into details. I don't like spoilers. *double wink*
Considerations - This is not my usual reading type, but I was so pleasantly surprise that I'm considering this genre in a whole new perspective. In some points it reminded me of the Ugly series, although the story is not the same, but it also had this strong girl facing all this obstacles and stuff. I like a strong main character and I'm sure going to read more of this genre after this one.
Can't wait for the next book :)

The man crouches down in front of the little girl and look at her with concern in his eyes.
“Daddy.” Says the little girl. “Where’s Bob?”
“Baby,” The man says with a heavy sigh. “He is gone.”
“When he is coming back?” Asks the little girl with a confuse expression.
“He’ll never come back.” The man gently runs his fingers over her chick in a comforting gesture. “You killed him.”
The little girl gasps and shakes her head. “No.”
“Baby, you took him out of his home and he is not like us. He was too fragile. You are much stronger than he was.”
“But I love him. He is my best friend and I wanted to hold him and keep him with me forever.”
“You can’t honey. Just because you love something doesn’t mean you can keep it. Sometimes the best way to protect the ones we love is to stay away.”
“I just wanted to hug him.” She says with trembling chin.
“It’s ok, he is in a better place and he will always love you.” He holds her and she cries for the loss of her friend, Bob the goldfish.
Talk about crosstar lovers, right? A human and a goldfish. That’s like the modern Romeo&Juliet. LoL Just kidding.
Ok, so, the point of this was to show a few things I think that’s important about this book: The acknowledge of death and having to deal with the loss of someone very dear to you in early age; dealing with the fact that you were the one to blame even if you had no intentions of harming them; and also the fact that sometimes you need to walk away the ones you love.
Can you tell how much I loved this book? LoL
I know I’m babbling, but before I start this review I need to show you guys something.
This is what a kick ass Asian girl with a katana looks like:
.
Don’t be fooled by the cover. That is misleading. My Allie is this girl and I refuse to change my image of her, so don’t need to try to convince otherwise.

Now, lets get to the review.
The Plot - I’ll keep it short cause the synopsis says at all. Dystopian future, rule by the vamps and the humans are snacks. Allie is an unregistered (registered are the people that give blood in exchange for food and stuff) so she is like a ghost to the society. She runs into trouble and becomes what she hates the most: a blood sucking monster. Ok, that’s not that original, but it has all the things I love in a book: dystopian society + vamps + swords + kick ass lead character + crosstar lovers +internal struggle + desperate plans to save human kind + hopeless hope = me happy as a clam.
.The Characters - They are not perfect and that’s just the way I like them. Flowed people that do bad stuff, back stabbers, liars, rats fighting for survival. I respect that, but I respect even more the ones that stay honest and strong besides the adversity. I’m not saying names, but I’ll say E is number one in my list.
The Writing - Oh, I love Julie’s writing. The main reason I wanted to read this book was the fact that I love her Iron Fey series. She has magic in the tip of her fingers. I’m bound to believe in every single thing she writes. Ice cream makes me lose weight? Ok, Julie, I believe you. Give me more chunky monkey, please. I need to lose five pounds. LoL
.Considerations - So, I’ve read some reviews before I read it and was a little wary that I may cry like a baby in some parts of the book. I need to say that this book is not perfect and it does have some flaws, but the good parts are so magic and wonderful that it made me forget the not so good parts.
This book has action and, even though some said it was a little slow, I don’t felt like that. It had some calm parts, but I found that good, cause the fast parts were furious. If the whole book was that fast passed my heart wouldn’t resist its intensity. For realz.
The thing that amazed me the most while reading is how Julie made me feel inside Allie’s head. I mean, there were some pretty strong parts and killing, but I felt detached and was thinking: Wow, I’m so bad ass, I didn’t cry once. But that was my mistake, cause when I least expected *BOOM* It hit me so hard I felt the pain in my gut.

I cried and stayed zombie like for a few minutes before coming to my senses again.
So, be warned. If you are a crier like me, keep the handkerchief by your side at all times.

I really love this book and can’t wait for the next one to come out. Yeyyyyy…
*An ARC was kindly provided by the publisher. But this in no way influenced my views on this book. This is my honest review.*

I just want to make clear that this is not a feel-good-about-your-self-book. I just finished it and my mouth is dry, my senses are numb and my chest is hollow.
You know when you have a nightmare that is so real that when you open your eyes you don't know if you are really awake or still trap i the dream?
This is exactly how I'm feeling right now.
Even the air around me feels different and my head is in slow motion.
You may think that this is a bad thing, but is not. The fact that I'm feeling this terrible is a prove of how wonderful this book is.
Usually I can read more then one book at a time and just after I finish one I jump right in to another. after reading this I think I'll need a few days to start another one. I can't seem to concentrate very well, my mind still drifts to Alice and my eyes get wet, but I'm not really sure why or for whom I'm crying for.

Full review is yet to come, but right now I'm busy with the sequel,, can't talk, got to go

Update: october 17, 2011
Full review here I come =D
The Plot – It gets more and more intricate and the more you know the more you see how much you still don’t know. I really like the way the things get uncovered little by little and keeps you asking for more. I can’t held too much info at a time,, lame, IKR? That’s why I like this slow way of showing things. The plot is more complicated and every step of the way it gets more dangerous. When you think you figured things out something around the corner appears from nowhere and crush your little perfect and save world. Yep,, it’s addictive. The ending is always cliffhanging. I hate and luv this at the same time.
The Characters - Ok, this is the third book of the series and is pretty much settled that I love them. And the ones I hate, I just love to hate. Mac = LUV, Barrons = LUV (I could bite him anytime), V’lane = panties on the floor, LM = LUV TO HATE,, yep,, the list go on and on.
The Writing - As great as always and I’m sure I’m hooked on this author for life. If her other books are as great as this series I’ll have my overdose on her ‘cose I’ll read them all. LoL. Really, the writhing is really engaging and I really feel like I’m inside Mac’s head, like I’m actually in the story seeing it all. It’s a magic experience. That’s what I love about first person narrative. It grips you and pull’s you inside.
Considerations – In this book we finally get to see what the feck the dammed book really looks like and it’s,, well,, unsettling. I love how the stories merge and our legends becomes their (the fey) legends too. Any theory that makes me ponder over any of my believes, is a theory worth it of my time. And also, Mac has this life lessons and she says things that make me think in really important stuff like: “The chocolate is so good because is fattening or is fattening because is so good? Would I like it so much if it didn’t have any consequences?” Yep,, these are the big life questions we should really focus on. LoL
The Audio Book Recording - I like her reading so much that I started to look for other books that she read just to listen to her voice more. Yep. She is really, really good.
All I can say is,, I recommend this to everyone and now I’ll leave you with some visual aid:

This is so Unseelie Prince to me,,,, it give chills just to look at.

I was not a big fan of books about fairies and I used to roll my eyes every time I saw one. But then I read The Iron Fey series and this all changed. I know, I know, this still is a review of the Fever Series. But it was because of the Fey series that I gave this book a chance. Boy, was I missing BIG TIME. This is a wonderful book, funny and sexy and with a lovely southern accent LoL. :
The Plot - Not that especial. Girl looses sister, goes to find the murderer and find out a whole new world that she never imagined it existed. Went there, done that. I rolled my eyes big time when I read the synopses on this one.
The Characters - What to say about the characters? Well, they are AMAZING.LoL. No, really. I love Mac, she is smart and cute and I have soooooo much fun listen to her thinking. She is a kick ass main character with an attitude and frosty pink nail polisher. Barrons (JB as I call him LoL) is this mysterious and dangerous guy that you don't really know if you want to run away from or jump his bones. And there's V'lane,, ohhhhh, V'lane,, He could kill me anytime and I would go happily with a smile on my face (oh,, wait, is that my bra on the floor? LoL Just a little inside joke, once you read the book you'll get what I'm talking about LoL).
The Writing - Is first person narrative (my favorite) and is very fast paced. It doesn't drag on even though its allot of detail in some parts. Like when she (Mac) is talking about clothes and girly girl stuff. I'm not the least in to stuff like this, but even this parts got me laughing and shaking my head.
Considerations - This is like sooooo close to perfect. It's funny ( I laugh my petunia off LoL) and sexy and has this really full of suspense moments and lots of action aswell. I just didn't like so much of what the story tells about the fairies, the origins of them. I'm a very romantic girl and I like to believe in the theory that the fae is based on our imagination and every theory that diverges from that I tend to dislike.
The Audio Book Recording - Her accent is sooo cute and is sooo Mac. The part where Mac was listening to her sister's call,, OH-MY-GOSH!! It got me chills all over my arms, really, I've got a serious case of chicken skin going on there. Barrons and the other male voices was soo funny,, it was like Mac was making fun of them. LoL
Really awesome series!!!!!!
This is how I imagine JB,, prrrrrrrrrrrr

I just finished this book and my heart is sinking. This series gets better and better and my heart just can't take it this much emotions. Is just like being in a roller coaster,,, Oh my freaking FEY,,,
Meg is more mature now and the things that she has to face are getting more and more difficult. She has to make more sacrifices and face decisions that will change many lives, including hers.
Your future lyes on the past and all it ends where it once started.
This is as much of a clue as I can get you without any spoilers.
Reading this book was like falling in love all over again. I get to see the other side of Puck and Ash and also see Meg grows and find her place and her destiny.
Once more I say, Julie is a wonderful writer and just as the faeries in this book, she toy with our emotions and make us see the magic behind a dull mope handler. She sure must has some fairy dust in her pen that make us all hang on every word that she writes.
Can't wait till Iron Knight!!!!!! =D(less)

I confess , I didn't have much faith in books about fairies, but this book showed me how much I was missing.
The only book I have ever read before this one that had fairies was midnight summer dream and I fell for Puck from the start,,and it was such a happy surprise to find him in this series along with Oberon and Titanea,,,, They are the bomb,,, :)
Ok, enough with the babbling ,,, I need to start the next book ASAP,,

Reviewed on 12/31/2012
If you haven't read the previous books I advise you to NOT read this review. But if you really, really, really want to there's really nothing I can do to stop you. Just remember that you are being watched. Yeah, by the Big Guy and I don't mean God. I mean Santa. Consider your selves warned.
The Plot - The shit has hit the vent and all went up in flames. That pretty much summers up the whole thing. The bad guys are free and the world as we know doesn't exist anymore. This can be really a dystopian book as far as I'm concern since the two worlds have collided and this is not by far the world we live now. Is like a pos apocalyptic world where humans have to learn to fight beings that they had no idea that even existed to begin with. Every single one of them is finding a way of surviving in this strange and hazardous new world.
The Characters - Mac is more mature and also darker then in the previous books. She has been broken by them and forever changed. Betrayed and empty she regains herself little by little. Even so, she is still Mac from the first book deep down. She even talks about her pink Mac some times. JB, oh my fecking GOSH. If I didn't love him before, now I'm in all fours for him. I love how he is and the fact that even tough he hasn't one single romantic bone in his sexy, hard, delicious body; he still can do extremely romantic stuff that makes me go all gaga for him. V'lane is more open and we get to know more about him and the fey history.
The Writing - I love her writing more and more. Especially now that I get to see Danny's POV too. This girl is AMAZING. She is funny, bad ass and mannnn,,, I like the way she thinks. Me likes Danny very much!!!!
The Audio Book Recording - This is not the same girl that read the three previous books, so I was a little upset when I started to listen to it. I spend most of the book in a daze and everything sounded strange to me. When you spend three whole books listening to one voice and suddenly that voice change you can't help get a little shacked about it. The new girl reads very well, but she is not the Mac I grown to love and it took a lot of get used to on my part wile listening to it. The bright side is that a real guy is reading the guy parts now and he has a really sexy voice too. He is not that interpretative when it comes to change the character, but when I've heard JB mimicking Mac's voice I couldn't help the wide grin that spread over my face. I kept repeating that part over and over again. Oh, and the healing part too
Considerations - Every time I think I'm close to it I found myself lost all over again. I feel that this series is like a drug. You taste a little, feel its effect running in your blood stream and you know you want more as soon as you sense the need when each trip ends. The thing is, that little taste is never enough and in the next fix the cliff hanging end will be more painful. The end of this book felt like I was high in the sky and suddenly I was crashing down endlessly. I felt pain, real, physical pain in the end of this book. But just like an addict, I can't get enough and I just ache for my next fix.
I recommend this book to everyone that loves a kick ass character and an awesome story.

My eyes are tearing up just to look at this book. I can't believe the end is here. Is too soon! I keep repeating to myself but that doesn't change that this is the final book and I'm actually scared to read. Linger left me, well, lingering at the top of a cliff and I'm terrifying of falling.
But in the same time I really, really want, no, I need to know what will happen to Sam and Grace.
I guess I'll have to be brave and start to read it already came what may. For better or for worse.
After reading the book.

Once upon a time there was a boy that used to be a Wolf. And once upon a time there was a wolf that used to be a girl.
Everything that has a beginning must, sooner or later, meet its end. I know that, but I still feel sad seeing this one ends. From the first page of Shiver I found myself lost in the poetry of this story and I must confess, by the end of that same first page, I was in tears.
Now that I’m finish with the last book, I feel like I’m saying goodbye to a really good friend. A friend that thought me the wonders of poetry in a language I’ll never understand, but still has the power to move me with its rhythmic words. A friend that showed me the wonders of the woods, the senses of a wolf and the sweetness of a candy shop.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw Sam in his wolf form, and I’ll also, remember fondly the first time I saw his wolfish yellow eyes in his human form. The first time I touched his scars feeling the sadness built up in me like a river spilling up through my eyes. The first time he sang, the first time we kissed and the first time I lost him.
I also met Cole, who I instantly wanted to punch in the face, but that with time showed me a side of him, that I never knew existed. An unpretending and most of all, unfamous side. My lips still tingle from our last kiss and I can’t think of him without showing a furtively smile on my face.
I saw the world trough Grace’s eyes, and saw myself in a new light. A light that showed me how a family can be misfit, but still love each other. That freedom can be lonely and that parents don’t always know what’s best for their children. With her I’ve learned about finding yourself in the most unthinkable of places. I’ve learned that happiness is something you make. Even in the darkest time, you only have to find the stars in the night and everything else changes with it. With her, I learned to have hope.
I was with Isabel when she lost her brother and watched her family fall apart. I’ve listen to her talk about her numbness in the most painful times. I felt her sadness when she cried and cursed her for the cruel words she spoke without thinking. I cried for her and I hated her, but most of all, I understood her when she felt lonely and unlovable.
Even as I write this, my heart breaks for I’ll have to say goodbye to them. I’ll miss them all and I’ll always remember the time we spent together.
Ok, now that I babbled a lot, I’ll get to the facts about this wonderful book.
The Plot - Grace is now a wolf and something terrible is about to happen with the wolfs. Sam, Cole and Isabel need to find Grace and come up with a plan to save them, or they all going to die.
The Characters - Sam is more mature as all the other characters in this story, he changed. He is not that little boy anymore and his love for Grace is even stronger. Cole is more than just a famous singer in this story and, unlike the previous book, I actually get to know him better. Isabel is more than a Barbie now. In this story she turned into a real girl, complex and with issues. Grace also developed from this shy girl to someone that takes charge and makes decisions. Beck, he is the one that surprised the most. In this book he is shown in a totally new light. I can say that I get to really know more about all of them, and I was surprised with what I discovered.
The writing - This is important, so I’m going to ask you to pay attention to what I’m going to say. Her writing is like a warm spring day, when you are sitting on the porch watching the cars drive by and drinking lemonade. The breeze caresses your face and you have that sad and happy feeling inside you that makes you want to cry and laugh at the same time. Her writing is wonderful and I loved every second of it. Every detail has a point and is put there purposely. This book, this whole series, must be read with laziness and time. You must not rush or jump on your reading. You need to taste, think about what you’ve read and then go back to it. If you read it too fast, is not going to be as magical or as meaningful. If you don’t like a slow read, this book is not for you. However, I’ll let you know that you’ll be missing a lot.
The Audio Recording - One of the best I’ve heard so far, and I’ve heard a lot of audiobooks. The song in the beginning is so lovely I even went back to listen some more of it. Shelby’s voice is actually the author
narrating it. That’s really cool. Sam’s voice is sweet just like him, and the parts that he sings melted my heart. He is narrated by Pierce Cravens.
Grace’s voice was so, so, so sweet. Is the same narrator for Skitter in the book The Help and I must say, I LOVE her southern accent. Her name is Jenna Lamia.
She is so sweet and gave Grace just the soft touch that I needed to visualize her with her blond hair and brown eyes. Cole has the sexiest voice ever. Just like a rock star should have. He is narrated by Dan Bittner.
Isabel’s voice is narrated by the same girl that narrates Divergent, and I must say, she knows how to give voice to a strong character. Her name is Emma Galvin.
Over all, I love them and I must say that the recording played big part of the fact that made me love this one so much.
Considerations - For those who read the two previous books and are on the fence to read this one, I must warn you that this may not be the perfect ending you were hoping for. If you want to read this to know what happens and see the wolf’s destiny, this will tell you. If you want to read this to know more about what turns them into wolfs, this will tell you. If you want to read this hoping for a perfect ending where everyone ends up happy, this will not make you happy. You’ll have some answers reading this and some will still be left behind. But that’s life. You’ll not always find the answers to all your questions. All I can say is that is a sweet end to a sweet and wonderful series, and no matter what would happen in this book, I would still end up crying my eyes out because is the end and no end will never leave me completely dry eyed. Not if I really love the book.(less)

‘What is REAL?’ asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender1, before Nana2 came to tidy the room. ‘Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?’
‘Real isn’t how you are made,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.’
‘Does it hurt?’ asked the Rabbit.
‘Sometimes,’ said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. ‘When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.’
‘Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,’ he asked, ‘or bit by bit?’
‘It doesn’t happen all at once,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.’

The writing is wonderful and the story is heartbreaking in a wonderful way. How can a story break your heart in a wonderful way? Well, when I find myself with tears of sadness and happiness all together. That’s when my heart is breaking in a magical way.
The little Rabbit is so sweet and his wish to be real made me think of the story in AI. Is not that sad, but the way the Little Rabbit believed his dream could come true is so heartfelt and made my heart sing.
I love this book. I smiled and cried with it. I learned new things and saw the world with brand knew eyes because of it.
A story like this one makes me feel like I’m a little girl again. A girl with innocent eyes and a hopeful heart.
