When I read the prologue on this book I was in love immediately. The prologue is the reason I wanted to read this book so very much. It’s dark, enticing and made my blood run cold in my veins. I was pretty excited to read this as you can see.
That being said, the rest of the book does not measure up to its amazing start. It really fell flat and unimpressive.
The plot is not the problem, cose the whole prophecy about a super vamp that can either destroy or save the whole vamp race is really good. Not that original, but good nevertheless. My main problem was the passing of it all. I felt myself drifting off constantly cose the way the things were conduce were too rushed for my taste. It felt like a constant verbal diarrhea. My other problem were the characters, their actions and attitude is more like it. Let me give you an example. There’s this part where the vamps are supposed to introduce themselves to the newbie vamp. They say their names and their connection, so far so ok, but then, this really old and super powerful vamp just starts to spill her guts about who she is and her past and everything. I’ve read enough vamp book to tell that this is not normal. As far as I’ve seen, vamps and other characters think of knowledge as power. The less someone knows about you, lesser is the power it holds over you. I’m no vamp and I still don’t spill my guts over some stranger that I’m meeting for the first time ever. The lead character also had some weird reaction over all. Is like, she just accept everything as it is and don’t question anything. Her life, her family, it all just vanishes and this new reality becomes her whole reality instantly. There’s no steps, no time to cope, nothing. She is a teenager. No teenager would ever act like that. The typos were a pain too. English is not my first language and God knows that I make mistakes even in my own language. Typos usually don’t bother me, but in this one there’s a lot of it to actually make me pause to consider the sentence I’m reading. It gets a little annoying. I really wanted to like this book, really. But I didn’t. The main reason is because it tricked me with this amazing cover and this breathtaking prologue.
This reading is part of the following reading challenge:

It would be a lie if I sayMy literature teacher once said that there is no such thing as a bad book. There is, in fact, mismatched books and readers. It would be a lie if I say that I didn't like this book, but it also be I lie if I say that I love it. When I finished Torment I was looking forward to read Passion and my expectations were really high. I wanted to love this book so much, but,,, I don't know what happened, I just can't. Many answers are there and it's not so slow pacing as the previous, but what bothered me the most is the holes in the plot. I'm not the type of person that get bothered by consistency or even crazy stuff. I read vamp book for crying out loud, but there were so many unfounded things and plans without any base in it that I found it hard to believe it. I'll give one example,, If you go back 1 day in the past and drop a glass of water ,,the result wouldn't take long to show in the future,, that's really obvious cose the glass was dropped in the past ,, how can you,, one day in the future, wait for it to happened in the past,,, is like ,, I don't know ,, some crazy and dumb stuff,,, 100% non sense,,,,
Ok,, I just had to say this, but I'll make a better review of it.

I know, I know,, that golden locks got me going again,, it happened in Beastly and I fell for it again. What can I say,, I go gaga for the Pat. But, once again, I'm not disappointed, the book is great and the characters are very engaging. It made me believe that somewhere out there it really is an extraterrestrial being running away from evil and at any moment they will come for us. There is a little romance and I'm a real sucker for that naive and sweet first love sensation that the writing passes to you right out of the pages as you read it. There is that relationship of father and son running from danger and a whole lot of other things that made me give this book a 5 star review. I really liked and can't wait for the power of six. ...more

It's Peter Pan,, everyone knows Peter and his story,, or stories,,, I just finish reading this book and I have to confess,, I'm a little stunned. I can say that is a wonderful book and shows a magic world of fantasy and fairy dust,, happy thoughts make you fly away and have amazing adventures.
But I also can say that is a tragic love story with a road that is sure to lead you in to a heart break.
Peter in a charming boy and every little girl lose their heart to him, but a charming boy is what he is and is what he will ever be.
That's what make us love and feel for him, but is also why we try so hard to forget him as we grow up.

This book tales in a fun and spice way the old tale of Cinderella. Ember is vengeful and has a wonderful dark sense of humor. The book is fast reading ( I started in the night of the 30 and finished by daybreak of the 31 ,,, yep there is no way you can stop :P) and tales with little but wonderful jokes about other fairy tales like John and Mary and Snow Withe. Charm is a curse, love is a fire. Nothing summed up the book better than this sentence.

I fell in love with this book from page one. The way that Alley and the vicious cycle act gave me a jaw cramp from all the laughing. For her the dead should stay dead, but then she met Doug and his breathy voice wins over the Ice Queens' heart. Alley become Gonk and discovers that being a zombie's girlfriends isn't easy. The reading is very contagious and, dough it didn't seams, You learn with it. Don't believe in stereotypes and don't trust only in your head or only in your heart. The balance between the two is the key.
Nunca diga nunca
Eu me apaixonei pelo livro desde a primeira página.

The story it’sThe book starts backwards, so you think: what the hack, now I already know how it ends. The book it’s spoiled. But you are very wrong. The story it’s told by Jhon and he take us trough his memoirs and how his life changed. He tells about his difficult relationship with his dad, his love life and about the war. The magic in this book is the development and the reasons that take Jhon to make the decisions that eventually take him to his destiny. In how you can spend your life without understand the people that you love the most and that we should take them as they are even with they little flaws that actually are not really flaws, it's just the way they are. There is just one thing that I think, Jhon went to war, but he didn't describe anything that really happened there, not a battle, nothing. That was a downer. I think that it's kind of a void in that part, but besides that, the book it's really wonderful.

This book is amazing. It got me hanging in every word and the description was so vivid that got me terrified with every nightmare. The vours are simply terrifying things that can get you if you get scary enough. They take your body and send your soul to a terrible place. The worse part is that nobody knows that you are missing because your body is still there, but not your soul. I get goose bumps just thinking about it. The best scary book ever!!!!!
The Plot - Bloody fantastic. Its was what first got my attention (well, the second actually, the first was this amazing cover LoL) and it got me hooked to it till the cliffhanging end. I can’t say enough of how I enjoy its twists and totally new monsters that creeps the shadows looking for worm bodies to take over. I can only imagine what twist mind would come up with such monsters. It’s got to be wonderfully twisted LoL
The Characters - Reggie is this addicted to scary stories and loves to feel the adrenaline that invades the body the minute you get scared out of your skin. She is brave, way too brave for her own good. Her brother is the one I related the most, I guess it’s because you have the same unreasonable fear of clowns LoL. Sorry, but, the person that said that they were funny have a mind more twisted then mine. And mine mind is way twisted, believe me.
The Writing - Is in third person (not much my taste) but it’s written in a way that I can still see trough Reggie’s eyes. I simply love the way that the writer describes the sounds and the fear and I could almost feel the cold bit my skin in the snow and listen to the baby’s sound in the silent ,,well,, you’ve got the idea. Describes things very well without being boring.
Considerations - The scary books never really got my attention and the books I’ve read in the past was from Stephen king and I really like it, but never give much chance for this genre of literature,, until The Devouring. This book made me fall in love, twisted and creepy love. LoL Just one thing that I think is a miss,, so romance, no kissing, no noting…. I think it could had been more of that in it. I’m a romantic after all LoL
This is me waiting to read the next book in the series:
