When I read the prologue on this book I was in love immediately. The prologue is the reason I wanted to read this book so very much. It’s dark, enticing and made my blood run cold in my veins. I was pretty excited to read this as you can see.
That being said, the rest of the book does not measure up to its amazing start. It really fell flat and unimpressive.
The plot is not the problem, cose the whole prophecy about a super vamp that can either destroy or save the whole vamp race is really good. Not that original, but good nevertheless. My main problem was the passing of it all. I felt myself drifting off constantly cose the way the things were conduce were too rushed for my taste. It felt like a constant verbal diarrhea. My other problem were the characters, their actions and attitude is more like it. Let me give you an example. There’s this part where the vamps are supposed to introduce themselves to the newbie vamp. They say their names and their connection, so far so ok, but then, this really old and super powerful vamp just starts to spill her guts about who she is and her past and everything. I’ve read enough vamp book to tell that this is not normal. As far as I’ve seen, vamps and other characters think of knowledge as power. The less someone knows about you, lesser is the power it holds over you. I’m no vamp and I still don’t spill my guts over some stranger that I’m meeting for the first time ever. The lead character also had some weird reaction over all. Is like, she just accept everything as it is and don’t question anything. Her life, her family, it all just vanishes and this new reality becomes her whole reality instantly. There’s no steps, no time to cope, nothing. She is a teenager. No teenager would ever act like that. The typos were a pain too. English is not my first language and God knows that I make mistakes even in my own language. Typos usually don’t bother me, but in this one there’s a lot of it to actually make me pause to consider the sentence I’m reading. It gets a little annoying. I really wanted to like this book, really. But I didn’t. The main reason is because it tricked me with this amazing cover and this breathtaking prologue.
This reading is part of the following reading challenge:
Amazing,, I can't ,, I don't,, Oh, my gosh,, This book kick some major petunia!!!!!!!
Ohhhhhhhh JB, let my body be your canvas, make me your master pieAmazing,, I can't ,, I don't,, Oh, my gosh,, This book kick some major petunia!!!!!!!
Ohhhhhhhh JB, let my body be your canvas, make me your master piece LoL
The Plot - Is better then in the first book. It’s more developed and has much more surprises. Mac is getting deeper and deeper into the shadowy world of fairies and the more she discovers the more she understand how little she actually know about it all. If in the first one the plot were kind of generic, in this one we can really see how it diverges from the other books about fairies.
The Characters - Well, lets see, Mac still kicks some major ass and is getting better at this oop detector thing. Her mouth is a little dirtier and her clothes not as lady like as before, but U got to give the girl a brake. She went trough so much already. JB is still dark, strong, fierce, gorgeous, full of secrets, you know,, typical JB LoL V’lane still makes my panties drop LoL and we get to know new characters too. The maze of peoples that are involved in the story gets more and more complicated. It amazes me how this author juggles all this amazing characters around in the story. Is such a perfect way that U get to know each of them in its uniqueness.
The Writing - Very nice and amazingly well balanced. Again, her magic way of writing has carried me away into this dark and dazzling world where fairies are real and really, really twisted. Since I started to read this series I’ve catch this terrible habit of staring into pretty people on the street. Yep, I’m the weirdo that stares strangers in the street for no reason at all. However, I’m no fool and I look away so the person doesn’t realize what I’m doing. I keep wondering how many fairies are around me but I don’t have the eyes for it so is no use for me to look, however I can’t help myself and I keep trying all the same. LoL
The Recording - Just as lovely as the first one. I was afraid that they would change the narrator or something, but fortunately they kept the same girl. Such an engaging reading, she really puts the life and the sassiness of Mac in every word she says. I’m a fan.
Considerations - I love the jokes on this book and the wonderful surprises on it too. It has this light side as well as this dramatic and dark one. I laughed and cried reading/listening to this book in the same amount. Even tough I really love this book, I need to say that this writer is sooooo unfair to Mac. She has all this hot guys all over her and all of this extremely steamy scenes and she ought to have super strength or something. I’m telling you, this is like the meanest form of torture ever. I would have given up and trough my self at him long ago. My breaking point was reached in the moment that he got me, I mean, he got her LoL against him and I felt, I mean, she felt ,, well,, U know,, I don’t have to spell it out for you guys, do I? LoL
The ending got me gaping and I had to jump right into the next book, that’s why it took me this long to do my review.
If you haven’t read this series yet, I really recommend you start it already. Seriously. Stop what you are doing and go grab the book. Now!!!!!! ...more

If you haven't read the previous books I advise you to NOT read this review. But if you really, really, really want to there's really nothing I can do to stop you. Just remember that you are being watched. Yeah, by the Big Guy and I don't mean God. I mean Santa. Consider your selves warned.
The Plot - The shit has hit the vent and all went up in flames. That pretty much summers up the whole thing. The bad guys are free and the world as we know doesn't exist anymore. This can be really a dystopian book as far as I'm concern since the two worlds have collided and this is not by far the world we live now. Is like a pos apocalyptic world where humans have to learn to fight beings that they had no idea that even existed to begin with. Every single one of them is finding a way of surviving in this strange and hazardous new world.
The Characters - Mac is more mature and also darker then in the previous books. She has been broken by them and forever changed. Betrayed and empty she regains herself little by little. Even so, she is still Mac from the first book deep down. She even talks about her pink Mac some times. JB, oh my fecking GOSH. If I didn't love him before, now I'm in all fours for him. I love how he is and the fact that even tough he hasn't one single romantic bone in his sexy, hard, delicious body; he still can do extremely romantic stuff that makes me go all gaga for him. V'lane is more open and we get to know more about him and the fey history.
The Writing - I love her writing more and more. Especially now that I get to see Danny's POV too. This girl is AMAZING. She is funny, bad ass and mannnn,,, I like the way she thinks. Me likes Danny very much!!!!
The Audio Book Recording - This is not the same girl that read the three previous books, so I was a little upset when I started to listen to it. I spend most of the book in a daze and everything sounded strange to me. When you spend three whole books listening to one voice and suddenly that voice change you can't help get a little shacked about it. The new girl reads very well, but she is not the Mac I grown to love and it took a lot of get used to on my part wile listening to it. The bright side is that a real guy is reading the guy parts now and he has a really sexy voice too. He is not that interpretative when it comes to change the character, but when I've heard JB mimicking Mac's voice I couldn't help the wide grin that spread over my face. I kept repeating that part over and over again. Oh, and the healing part too
Considerations - Every time I think I'm close to it I found myself lost all over again. I feel that this series is like a drug. You taste a little, feel its effect running in your blood stream and you know you want more as soon as you sense the need when each trip ends. The thing is, that little taste is never enough and in the next fix the cliff hanging end will be more painful. The end of this book felt like I was high in the sky and suddenly I was crashing down endlessly. I felt pain, real, physical pain in the end of this book. But just like an addict, I can't get enough and I just ache for my next fix.
I recommend this book to everyone that loves a kick ass character and an awesome story. ...more
I was not a big fan of books about fairies and I used to roll my eyes every time I saw one. But then I read The Iron Fey series and thiAwesome book!=)
I was not a big fan of books about fairies and I used to roll my eyes every time I saw one. But then I read The Iron Fey series and this all changed. I know, I know, this still is a review of the Fever Series. But it was because of the Fey series that I gave this book a chance. Boy, was I missing BIG TIME. This is a wonderful book, funny and sexy and with a lovely southern accent LoL. :
The Plot - Not that especial. Girl looses sister, goes to find the murderer and find out a whole new world that she never imagined it existed. Went there, done that. I rolled my eyes big time when I read the synopses on this one.
The Characters - What to say about the characters? Well, they are AMAZING.LoL. No, really. I love Mac, she is smart and cute and I have soooooo much fun listen to her thinking. She is a kick ass main character with an attitude and frosty pink nail polisher. Barrons (JB as I call him LoL) is this mysterious and dangerous guy that you don't really know if you want to run away from or jump his bones. And there's V'lane,, ohhhhh, V'lane,, He could kill me anytime and I would go happily with a smile on my face (oh,, wait, is that my bra on the floor? LoL Just a little inside joke, once you read the book you'll get what I'm talking about LoL).
The Writing - Is first person narrative (my favorite) and is very fast paced. It doesn't drag on even though its allot of detail in some parts. Like when she (Mac) is talking about clothes and girly girl stuff. I'm not the least in to stuff like this, but even this parts got me laughing and shaking my head.
Considerations - This is like sooooo close to perfect. It's funny ( I laugh my petunia off LoL) and sexy and has this really full of suspense moments and lots of action aswell. I just didn't like so much of what the story tells about the fairies, the origins of them. I'm a very romantic girl and I like to believe in the theory that the fae is based on our imagination and every theory that diverges from that I tend to dislike.
The Audio Book Recording - Her accent is sooo cute and is sooo Mac. The part where Mac was listening to her sister's call,, OH-MY-GOSH!! It got me chills all over my arms, really, I've got a serious case of chicken skin going on there. Barrons and the other male voices was soo funny,, it was like Mac was making fun of them. LoL
There's no way around it, this is a kick ass petunia book,,

Full review here I come =D
The Plot – It gets more and more intricate and the more you know the more you see how much you still don’t know. I really like the way the things get uncovered little by little and keeps you asking for more. I can’t held too much info at a time,, lame, IKR? That’s why I like this slow way of showing things. The plot is more complicated and every step of the way it gets more dangerous. When you think you figured things out something around the corner appears from nowhere and crush your little perfect and save world. Yep,, it’s addictive. The ending is always cliffhanging. I hate and luv this at the same time.
The Characters - Ok, this is the third book of the series and is pretty much settled that I love them. And the ones I hate, I just love to hate. Mac = LUV, Barrons = LUV (I could bite him anytime), V’lane = panties on the floor, LM = LUV TO HATE,, yep,, the list go on and on.
The Writing - As great as always and I’m sure I’m hooked on this author for life. If her other books are as great as this series I’ll have my overdose on her ‘cose I’ll read them all. LoL. Really, the writhing is really engaging and I really feel like I’m inside Mac’s head, like I’m actually in the story seeing it all. It’s a magic experience. That’s what I love about first person narrative. It grips you and pull’s you inside.
Considerations – In this book we finally get to see what the feck the dammed book really looks like and it’s,, well,, unsettling. I love how the stories merge and our legends becomes their (the fey) legends too. Any theory that makes me ponder over any of my believes, is a theory worth it of my time. And also, Mac has this life lessons and she says things that make me think in really important stuff like: “The chocolate is so good because is fattening or is fattening because is so good? Would I like it so much if it didn’t have any consequences?” Yep,, these are the big life questions we should really focus on. LoL
The Audio Book Recording - I like her reading so much that I started to look for other books that she read just to listen to her voice more. Yep. She is really, really good.
All I can say is,, I recommend this to everyone and now I’ll leave you with some visual aid:
This is so Unseelie Prince to me,,,, it give chills just to look at.
