I loved all the sappy love sick parts, which made all the angst and sad parts much more compelling and raw. I LOVED that they didn't go the traditional route, it just made things a lot more real. I truly hope JR isn't gonna pull a Tohr on us, and their story isn't quite done, because it didn't FEEL over. Favorite had to be the scenes at the park, just aww. I do feel a little miffed at the ease of which Trez accepted things, but I guess it's only because he KNOWS Selena IS there and waiting for him, as I do believe IAM never would have let it go had Trez died.
Iam/Maichen: Okay, Okay, so EVERYONE called it and he got the girl lol. But did ya'll see the way he was able to get the girl? I didn't see that. I honestly didn't like the whole Queen/Switch bull shit plot. It just seemed hokey. Had IAM passed, wouldn't Trez be next anyway? The callus way in which she treated the babe was just WTF! again, I don't understand the whole point of that plot line. So Maichen wasn't next, who cares! I felt VERY rushed and forced into their relationship at times. Which I didn't appreciate. Occasionally blind sided by it's abruptness. Glad they made it, but meh.
Paradise: Lets hear it for promotional fillers! I do like her though. Curious about the guy shes digging on.
Rhage: This had to be the biggest WTF! in the whole book! what the hell is wrong with you hollywood! I can't see where JR is headed with him.
Layla/Xcor: NOT feeling the love anymore. I had hope she would go into labor here but alas. Another knock down and drag out. Not surprised Throe abandoned ship and landed with the whore. I did have hope that the whole Sumpahth/shadow/vampire showdown would happen but alas fizzled.
Assail/Sola: Bore. Enough said.
OVER ALL: I found myself laughing, crying and thoroughly enjoying myself at times. I found myself so excited at the return of old school BDB and it's characters. I found myself eager to turn the page and continue. I found myself reading into the wee hours. JR improved, but still has a few issues with plots and timing. It was a lot smoother, but got choppy at time to. There's a few tings let unsatisfying open ended for my liking, but I do hope to see em addressed later. Let's heer it for the lessers! fucking aye they're back with a bang! love it! keep it going. ...more

It was cute for a minute; but this tops em all. They now have no voice of their own; but JRs; they're no longer unique nor distinguishable. Sad; Sad day.
I do however love being back again with a ward book.
Oh do shut the fuck up pussy! you sound like a jealous hmm . . School Girl. Yip; school girl. Aged years; my ass. Not once did you bitch and moan about the war before; mum; dad; now all of a sudden its mission central? Pfft! self centered twat.
So think angel boy is floating about. Why he doesn't announce himself is a mystery.
Ha Ha Ha. Lassiter being conformed as an arch angel doesn't surprise me. His being "The Body" does though. What could it mean? Can he break away?
Oh god. Save me from the pyro child! Is she truly THAT delusional as to set fires? Gah; pet hate right there.
Purgatory for what? to teach Jim a lesson? How fucking moronic. love how lassie tried to create a portal into purgatory to. Means we know where his girl is. Prolly meet her there.
He's Prolly gonna help them do the portal to get his girl out. Ha Ha Ha. Lassie told the truth! it wasn't him that started the plague; but Davina.
Hmm no Lassie; but there is an invisible presence. Can't rule out that he had nothing to do with the purgatory scene. Shit; what if he's the soul?
OMG! Poor Adrian! how typically unoriginal JR. Totally disappointed. Would've screamed my guts out too lol

I'm quietly optimistic and surprised by the novel so far. like the alternate lives the heroines rocking. Cliché; but hey its fantasy creatures!

liking the personalities; but I got a feeling I know where this is headed.
As a animal lover; particularly Reptiles and predators; I hate the undertones of animal abuse and poaching etc. I truly hope he has a damn good reason for the teeth. Perhaps it's magic?
interested in these fallen angels. Whats their agenda.
"What compelled him to follow her?" Oh do shut the fuck up Akiva. It was the scent of pussy. Pure and simple brother. Heh. Heh. Had this pegged the moment he got his own POV. Girls in for a hellish ride! BUCKLE UP!¡!¡
Hmm liking the developing romance. Bit like a lost puppy finding a home. Again; been there, read that, but still cute.
Ooh Brimstones a match maker! good for him. Figures Thiago would be the spurned general or whatever. Wonder what he'd think if he knew who he accosted.
Not the first time that twist had been used; still neat all the same. Bit OTT of lover boy though. Interesting to see how it pans out.
Glad the brother and sister crew let him go. Bet Thiago gonna cause the trouble. Hot damn spiteful pigs. Why not leave well enough alone.
Is it truly better to be seen as a brutal brute than a person who accepts they aren't for you and continue on to find the one who is?
Ooh I so called it! bout the teeth that is. Beat your balls it won't be the last we hear of brimstone and co. like the ending. Seems fitting....more
Came HIGHLY recommend so I'm giving it a go. First time round with Mrs. Gabalden. Here's hoping her reputation is true to form.
"Id hate the dear oldCame HIGHLY recommend so I'm giving it a go. First time round with Mrs. Gabalden. Here's hoping her reputation is true to form.
"Id hate the dear old thing to be disappointed in us,” he answered. Sitting up on the side of the ancient bed, he bounced gently up and down, creating a piercing rhythmic squeak. The Hoovering in the hall stopped abruptly. After a minute or two of bouncing, he gave a loud, theatrical groan and collapsed backward with a twang of protesting springs. I giggled helplessly into a pillow, so as not to disturb the breathless silence outside.Frank waggled his eyebrows at me. “You’re supposed to moan ecstatically, not giggle,” he admonished in a whisper. “She’ll think I’m not a good lover.”“You’ll have to keep it up for longer than that, if you expect ecstatic moans,” I answered. “Two minutes doesn’t deserve any more than a giggle.” “Inconsiderate little wench. I came here for a rest; remember?"
C.M.U!!!! good start to things. What is it about Scotland? Sounds so damn beautiful.
Hmm not liking the history book known as the boyfriend. The heroine comes of air head-ish. Bet the ghost is a ex patient. Hope he doesn't make a move on her. She's taken buddy.
Pfft what's with the OTT reaction to the infidelity Q lady? Can bet your balls he fucked plenty of females. Probably has one sitting at home waiting with their kids.
Interesting. So after the tea and palm reading the husband hasn't and won't cheat cause the poor bastard will die soon I guess leaving the ghost to swoop in.
lol nope even better! . . She gets sucked into a damn time portal! is there any other way to travel in Scotland? Liking the lads though and their shock at the little ladies foul language lol
"No wonder he was so good with horses, I thought blearily, feeling his fingers rubbing gently behind my ears, listening to the soothing, incomprehensible speech. If I were a horse, I’d let him ride me anywhere."
*Snorts* Seriously!!!! on the real quite like this developing romance. Nice to have a bloke be calm and quietly flirty rather than arrogantly in your face.
Nice to read about old school medicine. Not sure I like the text book feel to the novel. it seems like Mrs Gabalden I'd trying to stuff as much facts as she can into the book.
Not liking the hint Jamie was attacked? by his own? Colum? some Scot clan at any rate. Not liking the hint that Colum wife had a affair.
He he love Jamie and his V Card shyness on their wedding night. Played it smooth. Fuck even Dougal had a crack at the wench.
Highly entertaining and witty in some parts I found the novel long winded with pointless descriptions scenes information and drama.
oh and how many times do these two have to be captured? Predictable is being nice.
Kay; so checked out the next book in the series here on GR and the page numbers. 800+ like thus one and there's fucking 7 books in the series! I'm sorry but I can't go on with the series ad curious about one or two things as I am. Its not worth my time . . SERIES ABANDONED...more

It felt like Mrs Showalter was trying to capture Ward and Moning with a touch of Singh. I always find the epic poetic love speech at the end funny. More so in Darkest Touch. It just didn't work for me.
I found both to be woefully childish and didn't know if I was reading Twilight or 50 Shades Of Gray. It was that silly in parts or that amature.
What's with the dude business? I found the magical cure all cum to be woefully non eventful. Kind O like the sex scenes. I hate Torins blood is the cure. Made no sense since a lot of disease is transferred by blood.
I felt the end of the series as a whole was being set up in this book. Things squared up nicely. Just a few looose ends left. I'm hoping Gena doesn't drag it out. Y'all know what folks say bout dead cows . ....more

It's nothing major, and possibly explained later, but I feel I've missed something in regards to Fitz. Its like I can't like him, cause I don't know him. It's an odd feeling.
I'm intrigued by the fool and why he hasn't shown himself. Well, I assume it's him playing tricks at the house.
I love the dynamic between Fitz and everyone. His wife loves Fitz yet loathes his job. Fitz loves his wife but can't say no. He isn't chummy with his mentor, his kids both love and hate him. I guess I like that not everything is all sunshine and daisies. It's fictional real :)
hmm, wonder WHO put the lock on Chade? can't remmy if it was himself or not.
The pregnancy thing had me worried to, yet I did hold hope :) I still don't understand it. Such a odd ball.
Other than that, not to much else happening in the novel sadly. I'm seriously struggling to keep my focus.
I'm peeved at Fitz. Instead of, once again, having a conversation with bee, he again treats her as a simpleton.
Chade, bores me. Simply because of all his "Secrets" that he "Absolutely" cannot tell. They're usually dumb, and endanger rather than help. Not to mention, POINTLESS. We'll see. Same goes for Fitz.
Hmm, like the little interlude with the white woman, and bees mystery premonitions. Guess there gonna be cliche, and have her be a white. Original.
Well, nothing to exciting to report. I don't find Bee to be an engaging or relatable character. She seems two dimensional, rather than three. She didn't seem to contribute nor do much. I do however, like the little character changes happening with her.
So fool wasn't playing tricks, but sending messengers. Terrible what happened to him. Not liking these new people. But typically, made shit interesting on the last half.
I'm gonna continue, as there are one or two things I'm interested in. I still think the novel could've done with less fluff. And what's with the pointless deaths? curious to see what Chade, makes of it....more
