Em Petrova has brought her best to the table, delivering a well written erotic romance filled with friends and love. Though it took Jans, Holden and Laurel a few tries to get it right, by the end their lives are strapped together for better or worse true southern style!
I loved how the author focused on bringing three lives together by letting each-Laurel, Holden, and Jans-discover what means the most to them in such a natural way while they each prepare for planting season on the Rope Burn Ranch. Their story flowed seamlessly from two men fighting for one woman into a ménage relationship where each felt needed and wanted by the other two. In the beginning the tension was high between the three. Trust was hard earned and so little understood between Holden and Jans for the lack of communication. And let me tell you, that’s something ever southern woman understands. If a southern man can’t communicate it with a nod or a tip of the hat it doesn't get said and in this instance a lot could have been lost by both men because of it. I’m trying really hard not to give away anything to the story so I will leave you with this; Em Petrova will sweep you into the lives of three friends that fight for the love they feel for one another and find a deeper love they never knew could exist between two men and one woman. Hard Ridin’ is a sexy cause-your-heart-to-flutter kind of romance that will leave you breathless…and maybe a little in love with two irresistible cowboys.

A story like this one is why that phrase even exists. I loved the emotion that coursed throughout the entire story and how well the author portrayed both main characters and their individual inner turmoil that kept them from their happily-ever-after.
From the start we get a good look at the strained relationship between Alexia and her father, a highly respected and rather strict U.S. Navy Admiral. With that in mind the story starts off with Scientist Alexia Lane meeting Navy SEAL Lieutenant Black Landon while at the beach soaking up some So-Cal sun alongside her brother. There is an immediate attraction between the two that is later visited when they accidentally meet at Alexia’s favorite hang out. There’s no fighting the attraction no matter the fact that she refuses to date a uniformed man. Both desperate to make a connection with one another, they fail to share more than their names and are soon pushing the spark of interest they share into a full on flame of desire. This quickly leads to disappointment and hurt when Alexia finally does discover exactly who Blake is and, just as importantly, who his CO is. The deep rift between Alexia and her father fuel the conflict of her seeing Blake as anything other than a fling, no matter what her heart says. As the story continues the stakes rise and both are forced to look deeper within in order to move forward with any of the relationships in their lives.
For most of the story it was an up-hill battle for both main characters. Real problems were thrown in their path with no easy solution yet they found a way to surpass their hang-ups in a way that pulled me into their story wholeheartedly. In short, the author made sure I cared about their ending. Witty banter between Alexia and her brother broke up the tension on one side while Alexia and Blake let nothing stand in their way of enjoying each other physically on the other. And boy did they enjoy the red-hot fusion of passion and lust between them! Like all of Ms. Weber’s stories though, there is much more to the tale. The strong theme of family is woven into the story. The Parent daughter relationship and brother/sister relationship make up a nice balance to the romance that delivers a well rounded read. It’s hard to hold back some real juicy spoilers but I will say this, sexy bad-boy Blake gets a chance-albeit an unwanted chance-to show off all his Navy SEAL glory to Alexia and what she sees is a man she won’t easily be able to refuse in the end. As I finished the story I loved how well everything- emotions, relationships, and perspectives- were brought into focus for a positive ending that melted my heart.
A story like A Seal’s Seduction is why I love reading romance. It had heart, sizzling romance, and real problems that I related to, characters I understood and rooted for from the very beginning. I recommend this one to all lovers of the genre and especially to those that love a sexy Navy Seal hero looking to find a heroine with a strong heart and understanding soul. Wonderful job, Ms. Weber!(less)

Nice and Naughty delivered an extra dose of laughter, small town holiday cheer and the strange case of panty-nabbing.
The story starts off with sexy bad-boy Detective Diego Sandoval finding himself in hot water yet again for his case solving ways. Though one of the precinct’s top detectives, his Captain refuses to hand over his lifelong dream promotion until he can prove he can solve a case by the book. Begrudgingly he accepts the case of the panty-napper in small town Diablo Glen and almost immediately meets up with the one woman that has a chance of proving he can be loved. Jade Carson has the looks, the smarts and a warm heart going for her but that doesn’t take away from how she feels tied down by family obligation and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Small town living just doesn’t do it for her degree in fashion so she makes due with her gig as a librarian and women empowerment speaker for the local college. All that is about to change for the better or worse though. In rides Diego on the back of a Harley to find out who has broken into her house and played havoc with her unmentionables. As the story progresses little by little Diego and Jade open up to one another while working to find the guilty party. Their time spent together opens the doors for a steamy romance that really fogs the windows. And by the end has a chance of opening their eyes to a happiness that sits right before them if they are strong enough to reach out and take it.
Tawny Weber has delivered yet another holiday romance that can be enjoyed any time of the year. Even though it takes place during the holidays, Nice and Naughty focuses more on the closeness of family, the support you can only find in a small community and finding ones place in the big scheme of things. And let me say Ms. Weber has done so with one whirl wind of a story that made me laugh out loud, shed a tear, and fall in love right along with the Diego and Jade. I also loved how the secondary characters enriched the story, bringing the small town of Diablo Glen to life with so much spunk and more life than one might think a small town can offer. The author kept the story alive and flowing smoothly with great attention to detail and a mystery that I couldn’t help but be stumped over until the closing was in sight.
Six books later and I’m still in awe of Ms. Weber’s endless creativity! Well done, Ms. Weber!(less)

Heart thumping romance with a side order of family drama and a dollop of humor makes a perfect recipe or in this case a perfect Tawny Weber romance. I don’t know how she does it, but Ms. Weber creates stories with characters I relate to time and time again.
A Seal’s Surrender is a great nice-girl-next-door romance. Eden Gillespie has the charm, the smarts, and the quirky ability to always find herself in a pickle and in need of a strong sexy boy next door. But she’s tougher than she seems. And that is what I really liked about her. She knew when to ask for help and when to tackle a problem head on. Always the girl on the outside, Eden desperately wanted to be accepted, be considered of “them”-the ritzy country club girls that with a single word every one listened. But that wouldn't happen unless she finally made the Cade-ettes. One of the many girls known for sleeping with the town's sexiest boy she’s had a crush on since her school days. The one man she knew without a doubt was not and would not be interested in her. Her hero. Loved the dynamics of this attraction and how Eden’s personality alone had the bad-boy Navy SEAL seeing a future with her. The steamy sex was just an added bennie!
Lieutenant Commander Cade Sullivan had always kept a level head about him, never wanting to get tide down to any one woman, especially anyone in Ocean Point. The town he’d been trying to escape since joining the US Military straight out of high school. Back in town on leave for family business, Cade finds himself saving the girl next door once again, but from more than her usual twisted ankle tree climbing antics. This time he’ll have to go up against the one man he’s always butted heads with-his cold-hearted father-in order to save a woman he’s growing more fond of with each passing day.
A Seal's Surrender shined a light on how social influence in a small town or any sized town really can break or make a person. How gossip can turn a profit or just as easily take your dignity. I found this story line intriguing while we followed Cade and Eden's story to finding that ever present happily ever after always found in a Tawny Weber romance.
I’ve grown to love Ms. Weber’s flare for writing steamy romance with heart. I’ve placed her at the top of my must-read contemporary romance authors and look forward to her next release. Thankfully I never have to wait long!

Sweet mercy what a glamorous murder mystery...southern style! I haven't read a cozy mystery quite this fun and entertaining in a long time. Hands down Duffy Brown knows how to write murder with a sense of humor.
Savannah, Georgia is a hot bed of gossip. Throw in a murder, a consignment shop, an assortment of towns folk and a Southern woman with a strong will to survive and you never know what you are going to get. Recently divorced Reagan Summerside is a character I'd easily be friends with. Albeit always getting into one kind of trouble or another, but at least I know life would never be boring with her around. She always seems to step into one thing or another with her Aunt Kiki at her side that keeps the action alive in this cozy murder mystery. With her beloved Cherry House on the line, Reagan is faced with either forking over the so-close-but not-yet-signed deed to her rundown Victorian for lawyer fees or finding the killer herself. Given it’s the only thing between her and living under a bridge, Reagan sees no other choice but to seek out the person behind the bloody For-Sale sign herself.
Southern charm takes on a whole new meaning when you're trying to dig into the whodunit behind a murder. Ms. Brown did a great job of hiding the clues in and around fabulous secondary characters and riveting dialogue. I loved the southern charm weaved into the very fabric of the story and find her depiction of the South spot on right down to all the dangerous secrets lurking in the shadows.
Iced Chiffon is Duffy Brown's debut cozy mystery and one that will stay on my keeper shelf. I anxiously await the release of the second book from Ms. Brown because murder really is good for business! (less)

PLOT: After picking up Somewhere In Between, a sexy and delicious read, I couldn't put the novella down. Sure, this scrumptious menage was short and didn't take more than thirty minutes to read, however phones went unanswered and the laundry was left for afterwards. I simply had to find out the mystery behind Madame Eve's phone call to Wyatt and I also wanted to know how Darby would find a happy ending after going through the torture of being kidnapped and beaten. In so little space, the author spun a story of pain, suffering and loneliness only to have that melt away into something heart warming and of course sizzling. She wrote an intriguing mini love story with very well placed plot developments and intriguing dialogue between the three main characters, Wyatt, Rye, and Darby.
SETTING: Somewhere In Between takes place in an Urban setting.
WRITING: Stacey Kennedy has come into her own style of writing and has developed into a wonderful author. I love how her ability to entwine a story around me heart through her characters alone. Add to that the engrossing plot and I'm there. It is that very writing trait that has endeared me to her books. I also note her attention to details and her ability to offer works - either indie published or traditional published - with proper grammar and editing.
CHARACTERS: Wyatt Tanning, U.S. Marshall, and Rye Daniels, UFC fighter, are the two main characters from a previous 1NS novella by Stacey Kennedy titled Takedown. While I did not read that novella, I had no problem with discovering what kind of characters both men were in this book. I love a man with such inner strength and know-how when it comes to being gentle with a woman. Both Wyatt and Rye delivered in both areas when Darby enters the picture. And I loved Rye's witty sense of humor that lightened up the story at just the right moments. Kidnapped and beaten Darby had some pretty bad odds to beat that took just as much inner strength as what Wyatt and Rye show. I love it when a woman is portrayed as being strong enough to lift herself back up but not afraid to ask for comforting and help when she needs it. Darby won me over with her kind heart and strength. I wonder what kind of characters will be shown to us in the next One Night Stand novella...
LAST THOUGHTS: An absolutely MUST-READ for this genre! Stacey Kennedy has written a novella that spoke of determination and the power of friendship and love. A great combination. I loved the fluidity of the writing and story and hope to maybe see these characters again in the future. I can hope, right! Keep them coming Ms. Kennedy!(less)

Plot Her Guardian Angel, the fourth installment to Felicity Heaton's Her Angel series, is nothing short of a fabulous must-read paranormal romance that has it all. Ms. Heaton has a tendency to write stories that place you within the lives and adventures of her characters. Marcus and Amelia's story is as gut wrenching as it is romantic and there is no leaving the story until you have reached the last two words--The End. From chapter one the mystery intertwined around Amelia and Marcus propelled me on to reading just-one-more page. I often found myself losing track of time because of this. Not long into the story we find ourselves in danger from not only the dark Hell's Angels but also Heaven's. Which is an odd and welcomed twist to what so many author's have already written. I liked being surprised and not knowing whom to trust. Right along side Marcus and Amelia I was just as stunned as they were at how things developed with each flip of the page. And if one sexy Guardian Angel from Heaven determined to get to the bottom of this mystery behind who and what Amelia really is isn't enough for you,(I don't blame you) then be prepared to meet up with all the other angels from the three previous installments to the Her Angel Series. Apollyon, Lukas, and Einar are all present when it all hits the fan. Then the stakes rise even further as blood is spilled.
Just as I thought the ending was in sight the level of danger and adventure is turned up yet another notch when the Angel of Death, Apollyon must take Marcus and the others into Hell itself where the voice of the Devil will taunt even the strongest of Angels to turn sides. The fear and excitement for what happens to Marcus and Amelia was more than a wave of ups and downs. Their story is a riveting tidal wave of hope, despair, love, betrayal, and finally strength of greater proportions that I could have even imagined. It is a bit surprising to read a story of Heaven and Hell not being either wholly innocent or completely dark and evil The twists and turns continue to the every end, not leaving one page with a dull moment. Blood is shed and wills are bent against desires. You do not know who will die or who will be the victor. The author works her magic allowing us to follow along side the Guardian and his heroine, giving us deep insight to their feelings, their past, and their tentative future. There is no moment left unexposed, no experience pushed to the wayside. Her Guardian Angel is a love story that takes Angels, Demons, and mortals to the next level, pushing you as the reader to possibly experience these beings in a different light that is not always good and not always bad. I lost much sleep due to this story and every moment was worth it. You definitely know the story is good when the characters follow you into your dreams!
Now, as for the next book in the series, which there is a strong hint of one to come, I wonder if the author is thinking of Veiron, a Hell's Angel, as the next hero. If so, he'll be a wild card for sure!
Writing: There is one thing that I must say about Felicity Heaton's writing style and that is her constant ability to give the reader such great insight into her characters thoughts. She does it is such a way that it blends and melds into their actions allowing us to see how each feeling or emotion causes an outwards reaction of effect much like a ripple in a pool of water. She also allows the setting to play a large part in the story giving it a sense of balance between the characters and the surrounding going-ons.
Characters: Amelia starts out in the story as a normal human woman with a very bad streak of finding the not-so-good-guys for dating material. She comes across as a bit quirky at times yet very sexy. She is just a woman trying to find happiness after living with a very painful past. During the 'normal' moments of her life that we see when the story first begins she shows determination even though dealing with so much heavy baggage. I liked that in her. As the story progressed and the mysterious past begins to reveal itself to her, she is surprisingly calm and shows an admirable strength. She takes it in stride as Hell's Angels attack her and her 'neighbor' out of the blue. And when she finally learns she is more than just human (no spoilers) and her handsome protector is her Guardian Angel sent to her from heaven, she shows the power behind the emotion of love. Nothing proves this more than when her memories are stripped from her and the only thing guiding her is that same inner strength and her heart. Marcus, a Guardian Angel of Heaven, carries even more weight to deal with than Amelia. As a loyal subject of Heaven he does his duty with an unwavering faith. He is also strong and shows it by doing anything it takes to protect his charge from what he believes is the enemy even if it comes in the form of a friend. When things begin to unravel and it becomes hard to see whether Heaven or Hell is the enemy, he shows the same determination that Amelia possessed, proving to me that they were definitely a good match. As the twists and turns roll into an unstoppable force of love and adventure, these two characters and their story will become as dear to your heart as they have to mine.
Last Thoughts: A story with a dark and lethal mystery laced with betrayal, of Heaven and of Hell. Her Guardian Angel is a full throttle, action packed love story that you will not be able to put down! Felicity Heaton, I hope you are working on the next installment because I am addicted to this series!(less)

A decadent blend of love and magic with a topping of fantasies coming true!
Sugar & Spice is a wonderfully written contemporary romance with a sprinkle of magic that sets love on its course to finding happily-ever-afters. In this story it’s Dedra Hanson’s turn to see what the cards hold for her. To see if her fantasies about her soon to be former boss, Paul Chastain, can be as wild and steamy as her imagination has painted. And at the center of all the magic is Karma Café and the three Karmanski women-three generations of gypsy ladies with a penchant for magic- working together to hold onto their family business. And as luck would have it Anja Karmanski has a touch of magic of her own to help Dedra get over her shyness and find true love. Let there be no mistake though, magic cannot force a bond but only lighten the mood while fate works to bring together two lives. Anja knows this, but it sure is fun to watch Dedra discover just how strong and determined she is to fight for what she wants. To leave behind her shy wallflower tendencies and reach out to take what matters to her most.
The author has delivered a tastefully written and well edited romance complete with steamy lust and sex. And kissing…wow, the kissing! The tension between the two main characters is vivid. The dialogue witty while contrasting with great insight to each character that even had me laughing out loud. I loved how Paul tried convincing himself to keep back and not act on his lustful intentions towards his perfect-for-him secretary. And what is keeping him from acting on his steamy fantasies about his secretary? Corporate strategy and manipulative board members that want to control the Chastain brothers by demanding Paul marry off not only his father’s company through a merger but also himself to help create a sense of security for the stockholders.
Both Dedra and Paul will have to take control if they want change. There are plenty of forces working against them and to see if they are strong enough to go up against them and win makes for a compelling story with heart. Sugar and Spice is novella length and packs a punch in a short time. Tawny Weber made my must-read list with her Blaze titles and will not be budging from that spot! I am definitely looking forward to more Karma Café stories! (less)

Plot & Characters: Deadly is the Kiss is a spine tingling paranormal romance that will pull at your heart strings and leave you with a need for more Rhyannon Byrd! I can't believe I waited so long to try this author. What was I thinking!
Deadly Is The Kiss is the first of a spin-off series from a well loved and known series titled Primal Instinct published with HQN. It's not entirely necessary that you read that series before diving in to this book. The author weaved in enough world building detail into this book to allow easy reading without weighing the story's pace down. It's one of the talents I admired about the author's crisp writing style. I also liked the imaginative world and the author's unique vampires. While we are use to the typical no-sunlight and food vampire, it was refreshing to enjoy a different approach on this creature of the night and see them able to walk among the humans basically undetected.
The plot is strong and captivated my attention as the hero and heroine work to figure out who is out to assassinate Juliana's entire family and why. Wrongly accused for a crime against the Deschanel council, Juliana’s entire family is exiled to the Wasteland realm and stripped of all wealth and position within the vampire society. Years pass and now new hopes arise that will allow Juliana to escape her imprisonment to prove to the council her family is innocent. Only she can’t do it alone and the one person she can count on is a SPEC soldier determined to defend the laws of the vampire society not help escaped criminals. Yet, how can he refuse to help the one woman that makes him Burn with his species form of mating?
The story kicks off quite fast with the mystery and investigation into uncovering the real criminal but not without gut wrenching moments where assassin step in and try to kill Juliana. As the story progresses we get a closer look into the real feelings connecting the two main characters and see just how deeply they care for one another. Beyond the lust and sinfully sexy love scenes, Juliana and Ashe had to overcome past hurts in order to begin to accept what might be happening between them. I loved how the author used the story to force them into approaching these topics instead of just walking away from their difficult pasts. And what a past for the heroine; a real tear jerker moment that unveiled the reasons behind the heroine action throughout the book. Her strength to even wake up in the morning much less have the strength to take care of her entire family is an inspiration for me. As we reach the end of the story everything comes to a head when past mistakes and hidden agendas are revealed. Ms. Byrd knows how to work in a twist and I have to say I didn’t see the ending coming at all.
It’s because of stories like this one that I read romance. Ms. Byrd has woven together a story of strength and love laced with venomous betrayal that demonstrates good must win against evil and that love is the strength used to win the battle.
Writing: Ms Byrd delivers action and romance! I liked her ability to balance the adventure and the romance plot threads with a great attention to details for both. She writes fast paced action scenes that throw you right in the middle of the battles right along side the characters. She also uses that same talent for the love scenes that add the steam in steamy romance!
Summary: Deadly is the Kiss is my first book by Rhyannon Byrd. I fell in love with her amazing characters and can't wait to catch up on all her back list. This author has made it to my must-read list with just one book. That is powerful writing! (less)

Plot & Characters: Inside Heat is a red-hot page turner! Sizzling with hot menage love scenes and layered with emotional grit, there's not a page in the book that doesn't deliver a sinful sigh of pleasure or a pull of the heart strings.
Ms. Roz Lee has written a wonderful tale filled with all the adrenaline rushes baseball has to give while never missing a beat with the romance building between the main characters Jason, Jeff and Megan. While we get an inside view of how the game is played through the Author's extensive knowledge of the game, we also get a deeper look into the life of a pediatric nurse. Caring for sick children is never easy and we see the toll it takes on Megan. Forced into building a wall around her heart in order to protect it has allowed her to continue working in her profession, but it has also caused her a life of solitude where she is unable to open up to the possibility of love. Jeff and Jason are prepared to change that for her, if maybe not to love, but at least allow someone to care for her.
The road is a bumpy one that takes us through a baseball season with the Mustangs team. Forced to hide their relationship, all three maintain a certain distance in public that causes tension to the story. And the author pulled a fast one on me when a certain twist developed between Megan and one of her lovers. I was on the fence about it when the clues popped out as I progressed into the story. I wanted it not to be true but I saw the logic as I got closer to the end. Now I can't wait for the second installment to the Mustang Baseball series to see who the mystery character is!
Writing: Inside Heat is a self-published book with good editing. One to always deliver quality writing, Roz Lee knows how to entertain readers with a compelling romance and excellent attention to detail that brings her stories to life.
Summary: Inside Heat is a sizzling romance with a delicious abundance of sexy baseball players that will take your heart away before you know it! Ms. Lee, author of the Lothario series, has been a favorite of mine since her debut release and she continuously delivers the books I love to read!(less)

Sharp dialogue, exotic settings and a fantastic blending of suspense with rich backstory had me spellbound. As soon as I thought I knew what would happen, an unexpected twist or expertly placed backstory would up the ante, jacking the suspense ever higher up until the very last chapter. Admittedly, I had to stop every so often just to absorb everything. It was like eating rich velvety chocolate cherry cake with a sweet cherry in every single bit. Rich, flavorful and you just can’t wait to go back in for another bite.
The authors demonstrated great skill for the craft through their ability to switch between the three main characters point of views seamlessly to bring Roarke, Jael, and Kypton’s story to life through every angle possible. Being a detail orientated person I also enjoyed the use of rich descriptive wording and phrases. And the sensuality of the story is sizzling…no, it’s scorching! Talk about originality! There’s an extraordinary use of original coupling between the men, as well as Jael and the men, that really scorched the sheets.
Claimed by Dragons begins with Jael meeting up with her close girlfriends for a weekend getaway where she discovers magic just might be real. She also finds an ancient prophetess that possibly has a hand in showing her how a stone will lead her to a destiny she never dreamed of. However, as with any good story, it isn't that simple. Jael is a very indecisive person and must make conscious decisions in order to reach that path she truly wants even if she doesn't fully understand what everything implies. This is something she’ll have to overcome and the first step takes her halfway across the world to Mt. Kilimanjaro-land of the fabled Marduko Dragons. There she realizes rather quickly just how vast the unknown is and that being the fated mate of two dragon shifters with a plan to claim her is as exciting and dangerous at it sounds. All too quickly enemies make quick work of driving a wedge between the three, forcing them to fight for what they want or face a cold lonely death. There’s so much more to the story than what can be summed up in a review. Such intricate details and multiple setbacks that make each new chapter as terrifying and thrilling as the last. By the end everything is flipped, connections thought lost are reformed, and a love between three souls is tested up to the very end.(less)

When Lightning Strikes is the first of Brenda Novak’s Whisky Creek series set in a small town in Northen California. Gail DeMarco, a Hollywood publicist, and A-list actor Simon O’Neal take us through the darker side of fame and fortune, showing us through their story just how hard it is to give trust to others when it can be used as a weapon.
I loved the unique blending of the hero and heroine. This contemporary romance is brought to life through the author’s eloquent writing style which added just the right flare to the story. Her attention to setting and secondary characters also added another layer, making it that much more consuming. The pacing was smooth and kept my attention through the first two-thirds of the story though the ending came off as a little rushed. However, the author did a wonderful job of adding in a delightful twist that left me smiling as I ended the book. And if I read the clues right, I know who we’ll join in Whiskey Creek in the next installment!
Against the wall and with no one to turn to Simon has only one out that can deliver him from the spiraling downfall that is his train wrecked life off the set. And it’s someone he doesn’t even like-his publicist. Straight laced Gail DeMarco is faced with losing her PR Company due to one Simon O’Neal and the only way to save it is by marrying him and cleaning up his public image in order to get custody of his child. Before long they both find themselves learning who to trust, but on event after another left me wondering what would become of their false marriage. The author did a great job of keeping the story flowing with multiple twists and ending with a pleasant surprise that makes me anxious for the next installment!
Writing: Ms. Novak weaves a story with an elegant form that speaks of her seasoned talent in romance writing. No wonder so many readers come back to her stories time and again!
Summary: When Lightning Strikes is a perfect contemporary romance to enjoy any time of year but is especially perfect for sending summer on its way while welcoming the cooler months of autumn. I recommend this book to all readers that love great story telling and romance!(less)

Ms. Green has delivered another great read and one I anxiously awaited since finishing her debut novel, Caressed by Moonlight. Based on a world filled with curses and powerful rulers of the darkness this series has quickly climbed to the top of my favorites list.
At the beginning of the book the author has provided a very helpful and well organized glossary of terms for reference though she does a great job of delicately explaining everything within the story.
Caressed by Night is Dimitri and Kerstyn's story that takes place in Sin City. From the beginning the story's pace flowed smoothly with many turns and twists that kept me reading page after page long after I should have been completing other chores. I was fascinated by the alpha persona of the hero, Dimitri Arsov, true ruler of the Arsov vampire clan. He oozed dark power and authority yet reigned in his inner demon allowing him to be gentle and caring with the heroine. Kerstyn Ingmar surprised me on how she handled being thrown from one life style of innocence and ignorance into the dark and dangerous world of the paranormal she knew nothing about. Her ability to accept the change, the reality of vampires existing in her world and her part in this new world blew me away. I loved how she didn't judge, didn't try to make anyone see life through her views and came to mold herself into a human living in a world that normally can not survive such a dangerous realm without losing herself in the process. Sassy and curious she was able to flow from one life into the other with the help of her lover, Dimitri. And seriously, when you have a vampire as old and attractive as the ancient king, I'd want to make sure I could fit into his world too!
As the two main characters come to understand their connection fate held in store for them, their story takes us on an adventure filled with high and lows. From heart warming moments of sizzling passion to heart wrenching moments of adrenaline rushes, Ms. Greene held nothing back in delivering a fast paced romance of true love and justice. We also get to meet many of Dimitri's friends. Hadrian and Gabrielle are both intriguing in their own right, followed by Falcon and Gannon. All sparked my interest each time they step on to the page making me anxious for their stories as well.
There are many changes to come and adventures for the rulers of darkness I can't wait to take along side all of Ms. Greene's wonderful characters. As Caressed by Night came to a satisfying, end the promise of a wild ride in the next installment couldn't be missed!
Writing: With a second release under her belt, Amanda J. Green shows true promise as a highly addictive author for the paranormal romance genre. She writes with such passion for the written word that it jumps right out at you through her great stories and characters. I've read both of her releases and I can say that this author values her readers so much so that she strives to deliver well edited and written stories. I have a feeling she will go a long way! And might I say thank goodness this series is of full length novels!
Summary: Rulers of Darkness is a series I fell in love with right from the start. First with Caressed by Moonlight and now with Caressed by Night, Ms. Greene has entranced my imagination with her vampires and the world they walk in. I can't wait for book number three, Caressed by Crimson moon! (less)

Before reading Caressed by Moonlight I had forgotten how much I love historical romance. Amanda J. Greene has returned my love for bodices and dancing while giving me so much more. I have a strong love for paranormal romance that has spice sprinkled throughout the entire story and Ms. Greene added the right amount of vampires with a strong sex appeal and an alpha male...how could resist! This book is definitely one of those stories that lacks nothing when it comes to the sizzling connection between the hero and heroine, Dorian and Victoria. I still can't stop thinking about the chemistry they shared on the dance floor. A little of that is shared in the teaser section above. I also found the unique paranormal world for Ms. Greene new series fabulous and thrilling to step into. Her vampires are as powerful as they are alluring and sexy. She has a great take on her world and her characters and allows the setting a place in her story instead of using it just a prop. Layered with suspense, desire, and a sense of family in equal quantity there was not a moment in this story that didn't speak to me. The theme of family and loyalty was well balanced by the villain's need for revenge. Threaded together, it all made an exciting story that I couldn't put down and in fact finished in less than a day. The author took a vampire king and a mortal woman, threw them together and allowed their characters and surroundings to push them through finding their footing and their place at each others side. All secondary characters added a depth to the story I feel was spot on; not to much and definitely not to little. While the story is about Victoria and Dorian finding their way through needing one another, whether they want to accept it or not, it is also about Dorian regaining his control over his clan and territory. Their is blood shed and broken hearts as well as moments I thought all would be lost. When I came to the end and found that moment when all was not lost I smiled and sighed in relief only to be teased with a prologue of how the second book in the series will be started. I CAN"T WAIT!
Amanda J. Greene is a debut author that readers will take notice of and fast. She knows how to give readers what they want and exactly how they want it. She has a very smooth hand in delivering romance and passion while giving the right amount of suspense and thrills. She writes with great description and is destined to make the bestsellers list once readers find out just how talented she really is. I had to verify three times that she is in fact and Indie Author. Publishers would love this author!
Victoria is the best friend I never had and wanted. Strong determined and loyal to those she loves this heroine was perfect for this story. Stubborn and at times pushy she endeared me to her from page one. She is a character that did what had to be done and refused to leave her mates side once she knew what she was facing. Come to think about it, even when she didn't know what she was facing she was still there willing to fight for what she believed in and darn determined to make sure she was never left out of the going-ons. I liked that. To many heroines are push overs allowing the hero to decide what is good for them. Victoria is not one of those! Dorian, he is definitely the kind of hero that would and did try to tell Victoria what to do. I loved watching him falling under the spell of love and his animalistic tendency to take Victoria by surprise each time he couldn't control the feelings inside him any more. Sexy, strong and powerful this vampire king stole my heart the moment he told Victoria to look into his eyes while they were dancing. A perfect gentleman yet daring and such a seducer. Two characters you loved watching fall in love!
This author, this story, this series, is a must read for all paranormal romance lovers! Amanda J. Greene is an author I will not forget! I am anxiously awaiting the second installment to this series aimed to come out in February 2012 titled, Caressed by Night. (less)

The connection between the two main characters ignited the moment both met up after ninety years of separation. Given the amount of time apart I really thought they would have a harder time reconnecting, yet in this novella I saw how true love can really stand the test of time. Cliche maybe, but it worked for Knox and Angela's story. Another theme that stood out to me was the heroes ability to grow past his strong prejudice towards vampires. True, he had good reason to hold a passionate grudge against the species, but when his human lover is attacked, turned and then leaves him because she can not bring herself to be in his presence for what she is, he learns one can not be judged by what they are. I found this lesson the be a great example and reminder of how I can better myself and this is why I enjoy this genre so much. The sense of family and belonging brought the plot together and was topped off with the reunion of to lovers, two hearts, and two destined mates. The story was beautifully wrapped up by the end and made me want to look up more stories from author Katie Reus!
SETTING: Destined Mate takes place on the expansive property of the most powerful Alpha werewolf in the United States.
WRITING: Katie Reus is a fabulous story teller! She knows how to deliver a wonderful tale of love, strength and finally happiness. The true back bones of the genre!
CHARACTERS: Once human and now a vampire, Angela flees Alpha werewolf Knox's side in fear he would hate her-as he hated all vampires-for what she had become against her will. I found her to be a strong heroine and she demonstrates this with her determination to save a friend in need even if it means stepping into hot water to do so. She brings to the story a passion for life and ultimately a passion to recapture what she at first refused to acknowledge and what her heart truly wanted-love and acceptance from the one and only man that could give it to her. And Knox is definitely a perfect match. He knew exactly what she needed and how to guide Angela towards admitting to herself it was okay to let down her guards and attempt to rekindle their once untamable passion for one another. He was the right amount of protectiveness and dark sexiness to equal a hot alpha hero!
LAST THOUGHTS: I look forward to another Katie Reus Nocturne Cravings novella! She brought my attention to Harlequin's paranormal Ebook series and I will be sure to keep up with all her upcoming releases. I loved her smooth story telling and ability to weave a tale of danger and sensual passion! (less)

Plot & Character: Roz Lee has brought NASCAR to romance with a hero that you can't help but love and a strong heroine you root for from page one!
I instantly connected with her set determination and guts to hold her chin high, deal with the pushy men of the racing world and not back down no matter the slander shoved her way. Handed a failing race car business upon her father's death Carolina had two options, sell to one of other teams looking to play scavenger or take her love for motors, racing, and one Dell Wayne and push against all odds.
Carolina knows the latter will either make her the best on the track or break her for good. This story is a testament of how faith and trust go a long way to not only building a racing team, but also mending broken souls looking for acceptance; and the hero is as broken as Carolina’s race team. The author throws in some great twists and turns with enough heat to make you sweat and passion to make you burn but by the end delivers the checkered flag for a wonderful happily ever after we all love to read in our contemporary romances!
I found Sweet Carolina to be a well-written and wonderfully delivered romance that not only brought to life the lives of those in racing, but also the love between two people that needed the connection more than anything else in life. Ms. Lee hasn’t let me down yet and rides at the lead of my Must-Read list!
Writing: Roz Lee has an incredible talent of bringing to life the stories she writes for her readers. she writes with an elaborate prose and offers her readers a well written story with each new release.
Summary: I highly recommend Sweet Carolina to all readers that love a heartwarming romance coupled with a high-speed adventure that takes place on and off the track!(less)
