On one hand it is a true Christmas story exploring themes of charity, generosity, and establishing traditions. The place where it's set in is lovely. Then you get faeries and fights with magic swords. It was awesome. Lots of action that didn't feel out of place, really crazy but beleivable (in the context of fantasy) plot. This has got to be the bloodiest holiday story I've ever read. Extra star for originality and to the latest addition to the series. I like him, but I know some people won't like the direction that this implies the series will be going in. Certainly make me want to read the next one.(less)
