Was it absolutely adorable like I have already stated? Why yes it was.
I dont think I can follow the whole factor on how it getting cold makes them transform into wolves and when its warm enough they can become human once more and after about 20 years or so, or shorter in Sam's case 10 years they will lose their human selves all together and just be a wolf. I dont necessarily like that whole concept. But the way that Grace adores Sam even in his wolve form, is amazing. And the way Maggie writes this story is endearing.
I like the way Isabel turns from the witch of the story (human nemesis) to one of Grace's best friends. Its sort of a lose end though, because Rachel (one of Grace's original friends) just seems to fade into the background and once you find out what Olivia has been hiding, even before then if you pay attention, it is very obvious on what is going on with her. I find it weird that Sam of all people could not pick up on what was happening to Olivia thanks to Jack.
Shelby (the evil she wolf) is a very questionable character and easily the biggest enemy for Grace to watch out for. They way she was able to survive after being shot by Grace's dad like it was nothing, did not sit well with me.
However, let's wrap it all up. It was a cute story. There are some loose ends left to be closed, but that's what the next 2 books are for. I do kind of wish Maggie would have shown what happened to Sam during the 'Curing' period and how he was able to be saved but it killed Jack. But besides that I overall enjoyed the story. I have a feeling that the second one is going to irritate me, but I am easily irritated with love stories when the two lovers are ripped away from one another after just finding each other. But over all, its a cute story that you can read an enjoy.

Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor was a true joy to read. While the premise behind the love story wasn't all that original (forbidden love, from opposing sides of a age old war), it was told in a completely unique fashion.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone shows some of the best world building I have read about in a book (or series). It really made me feel the world that Karou found herself in. Even the world of Elsewhere felt absolutely real to me. As did the creatures that make up that world. You can see that there is good and bad on both sides and yet at the same time, each side can only see the worst in one another. And while there was some explanation as to why the war in Elsewhere, I can't hope but feel that there is more to the story that Ms. Taylor hasn't revealed to us yet. After all, Karou and Akiva seem to not only be forbidden lovers, but soul mates at the same time. Like they keeping finding each other to love one another, even though they are not supposed to. I don't believe in coincidence.
I enjoyed the character of Karou. While she often did a lot of rash things, she was still completely loyal to those that she loved and saw as family. And she was just curious enough to try and figure out what was being kept from her. Even though when she does find out, I have no doubt she wishes she could take it all back and just have her family back.
I loved the build up between Karou and Akiva's love. Yes, they do fall for each other pretty fast, but once their past is finally revealed to us... It is just totally heartbreaking and I couldn't help but cheer for their love to overcome it all. Of course the ending of the book, doesn't leave Karou and Akiva in a good place. It leaves them ripped about and grieving (and us wondering how the heck they will ever ~Karou at least~ be able to love each other once again). If I could have changed anything about this book it would have been the ending, yet at the same time I can understand how it was necessary to start us on book 2 in this series and see where Ms. Taylor takes us next. And from the sound of it, it is going to take place mostly in Elsewhere, so I can't wait to find out more about this place that I have come to find extremely interesting.
The main characters were strong. The secondary characters were supporting... LOL. Daughter of Smoke & Bone while rather slow at the beginning was still a great start to a new series. It has completely enraptured me within it's pages. But I also love how Ms. Taylor made it just different enough to leave her readers wondering, but not so different as to make it unbelievable. I mean, why can't there be a parallel world, where these creatures roam and exist?
I can't wait to get my hands on Days of Blood & Starlight to see where this enchanting story takes me next.(less)

It was until the very last few chapters that I started to get bored with the book. Don't get me wrong I am still greatly looking forward to reading The Gray Wolf Throne when it comes out in August. However, at the end of The Exiled Queen I just found myself disinterted in what was happening with the characters. I still love Han and Raisa, but I find it a little irriating at this point that were going into the third book of a four book series and the two main characters still dont even know who each other truly is. That fact is getting a little repeative and the fact that I was finished with over half of the book before Han and Raisa even met each other. That's gets a little old. It does set up great character development for both Han and Raisa and all the other characters, but call me stingy, I like my main characters to be together for the majority of the book, especially since Han and Raisa are really good together (adorable even). For the most part I loved the Exiled Queen. But I had to give it only 4 out 5 stars because at the end of the book, it just didnt do anything for me anymore. Hopefully The Gray Wolf Throne will save the series for me(less)

However, it simply was not to be. From about the first 3 chapters in I realized I just couldnt get back into this world like I had in the last 3 books. I still love Clary and Jace. I think that are wonderful characters and they are an amazing couple who obviously love each other very much. But the simple fact that yet again their love life is in extreme danger yet again, just irritates me to the extreme. I understand that for the most part Clary and Jace are the main characters and thusly they are the ones that are attacked the most, but after 3 books I was simply hoping that they would finally be able to be happy together again.
I liked the introduction of Jordan, I think he was a great character to add to the stories and the make up of him and Maia was really sweet as well and I hope that that relationship goes good as well.
I think Isabelle and Simon are good together and will eventually make each other happy as well.
However, besides Clary and Jace, I have to say Magnus and Alec are the cutest couple together EVER. They are just so adorable together.
The way Cassandra Clare went back into this world just seemed so dark. I did not feel comfortable completely emerging myself into the world she has created. There were parts where I started to like the book, around the middle when Jordan was revealed however every other part, I found myself forcing to read the book so I could move onto the other series that I really wanted to get to.
I am interested in seeing how Camille and Will will eventually fit into this story. However when the fifth book is released next year, I dont see myself running out to get it and read it right away. It will just be a book that I will have to eventually get to.
Not to mention I absolutely hated the ending of this book. Sebastian should have been left well enough anone and dead. (less)

But enter 'The Fairytale Keeper: Avenging the Queen' by Andrea Cefalo and sure enough, I know hate the character of Cinderella. Well at least this book's version of Cinderella that is.
To be honest, I am a bit confused with this book. Maybe it has just be way to long since I have read a historical book. Not that this book wasn't right on with it's history. I couldn't find a fault with that, it was maybe just the old time way of life. You know things like.... Woman should be seen but not heard, you obey your father unless you want to be brutally beat, no sex before marriage.... you know things like that. I just kept waiting for the action to happen or even for it to be mentioned how a Queen was going to be avenged. After all, that is the title of the book. I completely understand how the fairytale's come in, they are easy for you to see, but where exactly is a Queen wronged in this book, that she needs to be avenged? Where is there even a Queen mentioned in this book? This maybe where I am confused. Because the title of the book, doesn't fit the story AT ALL. Well at least not the 'Avenging the Queen' part.
Don't get me wrong. For the most part I enjoyed this story and it was an interesting tale. It kept me entertained and interested in what was going to happen next. But the whole time I was waiting for a witch to pop out and cast a curse, or for a vampire to appear and suck a neck, or an angel to come flying in on glittery white wings and redeem a soul. This was a pure historical book and it got a little boring because of that. The story within the history however, was interesting.
Adelaide is a strong character with a great sense of who she is and what she wants. She loves her father even after he so blatantly disrespects his just dead wife and she adores the guy who loves her back, Ivo. If you love historical books with a strong female character and fairytale re-tellings, this is definitely the book for you.

It totally took the series in a different direction. I liked how Melissa had a each chapter as a different perspective from either Schuyler, Bliss or Mimi. It was interesting to see how the series was developing from the point of view of all three main female characters.
I started to care for Jack's character more in this book and finally saw him as a real loving person, who truly does love Schuyler. I am glad that in the end they finally run away together, only took them long enough. However, I do feel sorry for Oliver in the end.
Bliss' story was better explained and I understand that now, but it is still a little confusing on how her mother and father came together to create her expecially since she said it was done in love. But I guess that will be explained in the end.
Overall, The Van Alen Legacy saved the series for me and I did definitely enjoy this book. =](less)

This was the 8th book in a series that is not even over with. I used to wish that some of the series that I absolutely loved would never end, but reading this series I have finally understood that there is a good reason why series come to a close. You may be wondering then, why, if I disliked this series so much why I continued on with reading it. It is simple. I have invested so much of my time into this series, that regardless of how I felt, I could not, not finish reading it.
So on with the review of this book. At first I was going to actually give this book 5 stars. Simply because of the fact that one of these books finally created some emotion within me, and I actually cried. In this book, my favorite character was killed. Poor Jack. Even Zoey's mother was murdered (both by Neferet of course). And while I am not going to necessarily complain, because I understand the need for characters to be killed (sometimes), what I have a problem with is that in all of these books, it has been the most innocent, the sweetest, or the weakest of characters that were killed. The Cast's have gone after the sweetest one's. Jack was just so sweet, and did not deserve to be killed so cruelly, and Zoey's mother had finally just gotten free of her evil husband and only wanted to connect back with her daughter. And Heath, while I saw his death coming (it was on a time clock after all), it was still in my opinion unnecessary.
What really ruined this series for me, however, was that NONE of these characters have a back bone. Zoey, for a good part of the book, hid out and let her friends do all the battling for her, because she was just TO scared or scarred. And Stevie Rae, could only admit to her friends about Rephaim after it was practically thrown in their faces and she couldn't hide it from them any more. It was the most annoying thing ever.
However, the real reason that I lowered my review of this book from 5 stars to 3 was because of the end. Because at the end, the Cast's bring back Heath, but he is put into the body of the evil servant of Neferet's. *sigh* And 'Destined' is scheduled to come out this month. Trust me when I say that I will be taking my time before I pick it up to see where this series leads us. (less)

I didnt know if I would like how Melissa had set up this book. With breaking it into 3 parts. First Schuyler's story, then Mimi's story and finishing with Deming's story. And the fact that Bliss was completely taken out of this entire book.
However, surprisingly enough, I think breaking their parts up make this book that much better. It let you see what was going on in the story on all different fronts, but showed that all 3 girls were stumbling upon the same horrible truths that have been hidden from everyone for centuries now.
&& ow gracious does Melissa know how to leave you with a cliff hanger. I have no clue what to expect from 'Lost in Time' when it comes out later this year. But I definitely know I will be getting it as soon as it comes out to find out how Melissa wraps up this incrediable story. I for once am completly stumped on how a story will come to an end.

I finished reading this book in one day. This was after having to attend college from 9am - 3:30 pm. Like I have probably said before, this series is REALLY easy to read. But let me get into my review.
While I do enjoy this world, this series is starting to lag a little for me. Dont get me wrong, it is definitely a unique universe and world that Melissa de la Cruz has created. And I definitely do enjoy the unique version she has created on Angels and Vampires. But.... Idk, the series just doesnt seem to be doing it for me as much as it did to begin with.
I still cant feel the love story that is supposed to be there. The love that Schuyler is supposed to have for Jack and even the love that she is supposed to have for Oliver, just seems so artifical. It seems forced to allow the book to have a love story in it as well. I do believe Oliver loves Schuyler, but does Jack even know what love is? He is drawn to Schuyler because she is light incarnate from her mother Gabrielle (whom in other life times he has loved her mother because she is good) and Jack or Abaddon if you will, is attracted to the light to cleanse his soul of the darkness that he is inside.
And also, at least for myself, who thinks like a writer because I hope to one day be published myself, the twists in the story are starting to become way to obvious. From the beginning of the book, I had already figured out for the most part how it was going to get. I will admit I didnt have everything down, simply because I was a little confused on how Melissa was going to put it all together and get it to work. But I had figured out that Jordan 'The Watcher', that Bliss was the true villian as well as Schuyler's sister, that Schuyler, Jack & Oliver would be caught in a love triangle. & to be honest I havent trusted Bliss's 'parents' from book one (Blue Bloods). It is sad that Schuyler is now without both her grandparents now, because Charles is a weak character and I dont hold out much hope for him.
However, despite all of this, I do hold out hope for Book 4 (The Van Alen Legacy). Ever since I started this series, it is this particular book in general that I have been drawn to and have wanted to read the most. It is this book that I hope will save the series for me. It is in this book that I hope Jack's character and be better developed in my opinion and he can step up as a man and fight against Mimi's influence. I hope Melissa is able to pull together Schuyler's love story effectively, because I like Schuyler as a character.(less)

Even if your meant to be with someone, that doesn't mean you necessarily get to be with them.
Oh Catching Jordan, for shame. How you have broken my fragile little heart.
I will be the first to admit that at first, I actually really did not like this book. The writing style and voice of Jordan just plain ol' got on my nerves. She was annoying to me and for the life of her she couldn't see what was going on, right in front of her eyes. I caught on from the very beginning, it really wasn't all that hard to figure it out. But then again, I will give some credit. It is a lot easier for an outsider to see the issues, then it is for someone stuck in the middle of them.
While the first good 20-30% of this book rubbed me the wrong way, I was determined to finish it. It had been getting such raving reviews (some of them by bloggers that I stock on a regular basis), that I just needed to see what they had seen in this book. While, it may have taken me a little bit longer to see the hidden gems in Catching Jordan I did eventually see them and once I did, I couldn't put this book down.
However, I think Catching Jordan may have had a bigger emotional impact on me then it did others. The thought of friends falling in love, really isn't a new one. But best friends... in love... SOOO much can go wrong in that scenario... and I know first hand.
I was blissfully unaware for years, that one of my closest friends held a secret love for me. I don't think it helped the fact that when we first met I was already dating the guy who eventually became his best friend. And so when we eventually became friends ourselves, that all I saw him as... a really good friend. Oh, but how life can be a mean mean person sometimes. After about a year and I had broken up with that guy, my friend and I, continued to stay in contact. We eventually fell out of contact with one another and didn't start speaking again until about a year and a half later. & it was like we had never lost contact with each other. & that was when he finally confessed how he had always loved me. & what a shock that was for me. He even broke up with his girlfriend to be with me, but I just didn't know if that was what I wanted. Yet, the door had been opened and it could never be shut again. The more our friendship grew stronger after our distance from one another, the more I came to see him as more then just my best friend. I came to love him as much as he had always loved me. But by that point, he already had another girlfriend. This all happened back in late 2009, and to this day my heart still yearns for him, even though he has finally moved on. It is a TERRIBLE pain, being in love with your best friend and having to see them happy with somebody else. A terrible, devastating pain. But at the same time, I can't be angry or sad about it. For he is my best friend (& I am his) and all I really want for him, is to always be happy. Even if that means it's not with me.....
So in this regards, what happens between Jordan and Henry, while Jordan is learning how to open up and try to love Ty all at the same time. Really speaks to my heart. I went into this book expecting a light-hearted story about first love. But oh boy was I wrong. This is a heartbreaking book about growing up, learning how to hold on to what is most precious to you, staying true to your and your heart & not letting the perfect guy get away from you. No matter how hard he may try sometimes.
Jordan's dad says, "While you may be meant to be with someone, that doesn't mean you always get to be with them." And oh but how true that statement is. I didn't get to be with mine and that is a pain I will eventually have to learn how to get over but maybe, just maybe, Jordan will get her happily-ever-after for the both of us.(less)

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire sounded soooo interesting. As did the concept behind the book. A Vampire with a broken fang seeking out a Dentist who could fix it for him and them ending up falling madly in love with one another. It was a concept that I hadn't read about before. So I was fairly interested in reading this one, despite the negative reviews it had gotten.
Unfortunately, this book was just okay for me. There really wasn't anything about it that stood out. That popped. That gave me the crazy urge to keep reading long into the night.
The characters were okay. The plot line and speed behind it were okay. Overall... it was okay.
Shanna Whelan is a dentist, who's afraid of blood and who also happens to be the target of the Russian Mob. But there's a lot more behind the story then what there first appears to be. Shanna is a lot more special then even she knows. And you can thank her Vampire hating dad for that.
Roman Draganesti is a Vampire, with a broken fang. He's also a man who's unknowingly searching for the right woman. Despite the harem of woman already at his disposal and the vows he took as a monk a few hundred years ago.
Both of these characters are definitely full of contradictions as well as being perfect for one another. But they have to learn how to over come both family and personal problems before they can learn to let their love for each other show and to be happy together. I enjoy the characters, even if they did fall a little on the flat side throughout a lot of the book.
I have to say, however, it wasn't really the characters that had me... just not enjoying this read as much as I had hoped I would. It had more to do with the romance. I have recently found myself more interested in Adult Paranormal Romances, because I have needed some steamy love between the two main characters (I know, I'm a perv... lol). How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire just didn't deliver this for me. I started reading this one right after I had finished Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian and in that book, there was at least 3 (if not more) different steamy love scenes between the two main characters. In this book, there was barely one and it wasn't until close to the end of the book. I found myself going crazy. I needed some more steamy, that Ms. Sparks just wasn't delivering for me.
I will be continuing with this series, it is on my list of "Adult Paranormals" to read. I am just hoping the series gets more interesting (with some steamy in it) as it goes along. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed.(less)

Which is pretty crazy because when I first started this book, it was absolutely not catching my attention. The first few chapters were chopping at best. It was crazy to think that the incident that finally pushed Nastasya over the edge was so big after some of the things that you eventually learn she has gone through in her 400+ life span. But I guess everybody eventually has their breaking point and that is what this whole book is about.
'Immortal Beloved' more then once made me stop and really think about what it means to be mortal and how much I should actually cherish the fact that I am. Once you really get to see into Nastasya's life, it is not pretty to be immortal and to life forever. The things that she had to go through, I can guarantee you would have broken a person, but that is what happened to her as well. Nastasya was a very broken and very flawed character. But so were all the immortals had River's Edge. They were all trying to come together to truly figure out what it meant to be alive, to live, to cherish life and see the beauty in everything. Because they had long ago forgotten how to do that. How to not just be empty shells, walking around the world but never truly appreciating anything.
I must say that all of these character's (except for Nell and even though Nastasya really annoyed me at first) touched me in one way or another. To truly see how a human struggles between what is right and wrong, what is light and dark. Made me truly appreciate what I have in life and to cherish everything and every experience that I have. It truly made me grateful that I am not immortal. I couldn't handle that kind of pain. I have gone through a lot already at just 23 and still have quite a few more years of pain to experience, I can't imagine 400+ years of it.
I loved Reyn and Nastasya together. They have an extraordinary past together. One choked full of pain and misery and hurt that is unavoidable. And the fact that they can somehow overcome it and find a way to care for one another is truly inspiring. It will make one really appreciate what love (and hate) truly mean.

I started One Foot in the Grave right after finishing the first book in the series, Halfway to the Grave and I must say I enjoyed this book even more then the first.
It started off suspenseful. To see how Cat was now... after 4 years had gone by since the first book ended. The last book ended with her running away from Bones (for his "safety") with her mother and joining a secret, vampire hunting group. And she is still with this group in this book. But right from the beginning all I could think about was... how were her and Bones going to end back up together, and how would their first meeting go after being away from one another after so long.
Why Ms. Frost, you did not disappoint me.
Cat and Bones reunion was absolutely hilarious (even funnier then their interactions in the first book). I must say the whole "Chris Pin" part was the funniest in the whole book... I couldn't stop laughing for a while.
I am appreciative that when Bones and Cat finally reunite, it doesn't take over half of the book and that Cat was smart enough to know that she still loved Bones and probably always would. That she didn't fight her feelings forever (that would have just been a freaking headache).
The issues that Bones and Cat faced, were even bigger and troublesome then in the first book. And a lot closer to home as well. They had to learn how to work together even more then they did in the first to overcome the "bad" guys. Cat even tracks down her daddy in this book. Who isn't really grateful to have been found.
And there is a shocker at the end of the book that I really didn't see coming but thoroughly enjoyed. I loved how Bones came to Cat's rescue.
I can't wait to start reading At Grave's End, the third book in this series and to see where Ms. Frost takes us next.(less)

Oh My Gosh... How I enjoyed this book. It was action filled from beginning to end and I never knew what was coming next. The first few pages in the book was slightly confusing, I didn't understand exactly what was going on... but once I got the hang of the flow of the book, I couldn't put it down.
Kitty was a thoroughly enjoyable character to read about. She has one of the best senses of humor that I have found in book, ever. And best of all is that she didn't take a back seat to any of the "ultra hunky" guys around her. She took charge right from the get go and didn't run in the opposite direction freaking out, like you would find in a lot of other books. When it's discovered that she is surrounded by aliens, she takes it in stride and goes with the flow. She has a sharp wit and mind, was able to come up with things that the aliens (who had been fighting their nemesis for generations) couldn't even figure out. Not only was she talking the talk, but she could put the swag in her walk as well. She was kick-ass and was never afraid to take on the big scary aliens, and beat their butties.
Jeff Martini... what can I even say about him, but... where can I find a guy like that for myself. He has definitely become my latest book boyfriend. He connected with Kitty on so many different levels and not only because he had the ability to read emotions. They made a great team together and trusted each other, not running games around each other. And the chemistry, it was off the charts and they didn't play games with that either. They liked each other and they took a leap and went with it, regardless of what others might think.
I must say though, one thing that I found really annoying with the story was Kitty's mother actually. Her mother was kick-ass and strong as well (I mean both her parents were) and they were both hiding a big family secret from Kitty. But, I don't know, her mother annoyed me. She was over bearing, over-powering and at time boorish. She tried to push Christopher off on Kitty way to hard and wouldn't let her just make up her mind on her own. It pissed me off more then the "bad" guys in the book did. It found it pretty amusing that Kitty's dad's name was Sol Katt.
I enjoyed this book. It kept me up late into the night reading and laughing. It was a completely different take on Heaven, Hell and Alien's. I can't wait to start reading Alien Tango and see where this series goes next. But mostly I can't wait to get another fill of Kitty and Jeff. I definitely give this series two thumbs up. Loved it.(less)

I was finishing with the book before I even realized I was coming to the end. I was so sucked into this world, that I was even finding myself picking up the book to read during the two minute intervals of a game loading for me and my friends playing xbox. I started this book early yesterday morning and have already completed it. Which really isnt surprising when it comes to me, but it definitely shows how much I enjoyed this book.
Im not going to go all blubery and say that this was the greatest book in the world. Yes, it was really good. Don't get me wrong and Yes, I did read it really fast. But of course, like almost all books there were parts that I didnt necessarily like. And I must say that Rachel Hawkins was able to create a character that I honestly do not like. Even after her tragic death. Elodie. She was simply a snobby b**** and made parts of the book irritating to the point that I had to put it down and take a break. I must say that if it were not for her character I may have finished this book even faster. But then again, every book needs its antagonist. And that was the only purpose (in my opinion) that Elodie served.
I think one of the things that I most enjoyed about this book was that Hawkins was able to incorporate ideas into the story that even I was unable to see coming from a mile away. I did have a feeling that Archer was keeping some kind of secret. But the only reason I had this feeling about him was because of the time that it was mentioned that after Holly was killed he had an 'absense' from the school for an extended period of time and when Sophie asked him about it, he seemed kind of evasive. So yes I will admit that when it was revealed that he was somehow involved with 'The Eye' was not all that surprised but I was greatly saddened because I was hoping that that was not the secret he was keeping. For I really like the character of Archer. He was one of the ones that made the book funny to read. To see the development between him and Sophie. But then it makes me think that at the beginning of the book, how he 'guessed' that Sophie's name ended with an ie before he even knew who she was. It makes me think that he knew of her before she even got there and that he had been out there to see her on purpose. Sort of like he was assigned to her or something. Mm. Makes me wonder. I guess only the next books to come in this series will tell.
I do like the character of Sophie. She is a character that has her faults, acts her age and does not always make the wisest of decisions. But that is part of the beauty. Because of these facts, she is a character that one can actually see grow from book one of a series to the end of it. And that is something that I greatly look forward to in this series. To see how Sophie grows not only as a person but as a witch.... let me correct myself... as a demon.
I also really like Jenna. She is a great supporting character for Sophie. And they have an obvious friendships with one another. It is something that gives the book a lighter feel even through all of the killings or attempted killings going on at the school.
Normally I would go on to reveal more about this book. But.... I honestly dont want to. I want people to read it and enjoy it themselves without any forwaring on what is going to happen at the end. Because trust me there is even a surprise at the end that I didnt see coming.
P.S. Even though we got a glimpse of him. I do have a feelings that Cal will have a bigger role in the next books to come. That much hunky, yummy-ness could never be put into a simple supporting character role. I have a definite feeling that there are a lot more surprising awaiting us in Demonglass and the next books to come in the series. I am a definite fan of this series.(less)

In a lot of reviews that I have read, they have all shared one common thread. That Kiss of Midnight and in fact the whole Breed Series is a rip off of The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. Having never read the BDB Series (I have the first book on reserve at my Library), I went into this book without any prejudices. And I really enjoyed it.
This was truly a steamy book to read. There were plenty of love scenes which I have been craving for in books lately.
Gabrielle is a fun heroine to read about. She didn't leave me begging for me like a lot of other heroines have. She was brave, strong and wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted; Lucan. She also wasn't afraid to take what she wanted; Lucan's body. LOL. The chemistry between Gabrielle and Lucan was off the charts and could be felt practically from the moment that they meet.
Lucan was also an enjoyable character to read about. He had a lot of issue's plaguing him, which made him an extremely complicated character to get to know. But Gabrielle didn't let this fact come between them. There are countless times that Lucan tries to push Gabrielle away, saying that it is for her own protection (and sometimes it is), but Gabrielle wasn't an insistent little vixen and she was able to eventually break him down.
Besides loving the characters (I can't wait to get to read the other steamy guys stories), I loved the story behind the characters. Lara Adrian has a good mythology behind her characters. She obviously understands where they are all coming from. It is the first time I have read about Vampires originating from Aliens (and outer space), but it was a really thought out and logical way to go with the mythology of Vampires. I enjoyed the idea of the breedmates as well. Even if it did kind of limit the choices that the Breed Warriors would have with their eventual mates. It is easy to see how these men (all vampires are men, no women born into them) can hide within our society without us finding out about them, unless we are one of the Breedmates (the few selected human woman who can marry and mate with the Breed men).
Overall, this was an enjoyable story. While there was danger and bad guys involved, I didn't feel like it was over the top and impossible like I do in a lot of books lately. While the bad guys were an obvious threat, I felt that Adrian still effectively blended them (and their need to be there) into the story line that she is weaving. I look forward to getting my hands on Kiss of Crimson to see where she takes us now. I also look forward to getting to know more about the Breed Warrior named Dante and to see how steamy his book is.
This is a series I know that I will be looking forward to continuing.(less)

My early prediction that this book was going to irritate me, didnt fell me. Yes, this book book did in fact irritate me. But in the end, I cant say how much I ended up THOURLY enjoyed this book.
In Shiver, we are introduced to Sam and Grace and see the road that their budding love takes and the path that that leads them on and the friends that they make along the way as well as still keeping up the relationships that had prior to the book. Shiver is a sweet story of love and romance and what you are willing to sacrife and how hard you are willing to fight for that love. Linger takes this love story to a whole nother relm.
We are introduced to Cole, one of the new werewolves that Beck makes to watch out for the pack before he relalizes that Sam is going to be 'cured'. He is a sad faced, rock star (in his prior life) trying to out run the demons of his life. He first meets Isabel, who defends him in quit a unique fashion I would say, but just screams Isabel style. They instantly form a bond that is only strengthened throughout the book. For they are both damaged goods, trying to run away from their demons and unwilling to face the harsh relaties of life, at least not yet. I find the connection between Isabel and Cole very enduring and it is this very bond that makes me care for them as characters. Because let me tell you I didnt really care for Isabel as a character during Shiver. However, in Linger, Isabel definitely takes a step in the right direction and she most definitely impoves as a person in genereal. While she would never EVER emit it, she has grown a soft spot for both Sam and Grace and you can finally see it.
Sam I think steps up more as a main character. In Shiver Grace was the dominating force during most of the book, but you did get glimpses into how the story was developing through Sams eyes. However, in Linger Grace takes a step back as the main character and Sam steps forward. Cole even seems to have a bigger role in Linger then Grace does.
In Shiver the only points of view you got were Grace and Sam's. However, in Linger you get Grace, Sam, Cole and Isabel. Maggie Stiefvater has the tendency to switch perspectives a lot, however, and sometimes its int he middle of a chapter. So definitely one of the main down falls of this book is that sometimes you can get confused on to who's perspective you are reading from at the time. However, I refuse to let this fact ruin this book for me.
You can visually see all four characters physically and emotionally maturing during Linger and it is a very enduring thing.
You feel Grace's sickness very strongly and the overwhelming helplessness that her friends (Sam and Isabel) feel because they know there is nothing they can do to help her, while she dies right in front of them. That's when Cole does the greatest thing ever and he truly steps up to the bat to let you know he will definitely be a dominant character in 'Forever' when it comes out. He helps Isabel and Sam find a cure to save Grace from death's very grip. The cure, let the wolf in her finally come out.
So yes my friends and fellow Goodread members. At the end of Linger, Grace does become a werewolf and Sam and Isabel are left without her. To suffer their loss of her in very different fashion's. However, for some reason Cole seems almost unaffected by the werewolf curse and im more then sure that he will be a big part of them finding a cure to bring Grace back to them in 'Forever'.
This series has become very dear to me and has worked its way into my top favorite series. So to the people out there who were hesitant on reading this series, I would definitely say that its worth you reading. Ive already suggested it to my other friends and have let them borrow my copies.
P.S. Maggie Stiefvater has mastered the art of 'the cliffhanger'(less)

Nice Girl's Don't Have Fangs started off as a really cute book. It drew me in practically from the beginning. I really enjoyed Jane's tone of voice and her sense of humor. Gabriel was a strong male lead and complimented Jane really well. He was obviously very attached and attracted to her and only wanted the very best for her, even while someone was trying to harm her and blame some murders on her.
Jane starts off by losing her job, getting head-over-heels drunk, flirting with a gorgeous stranger, getting shot and killed and then being revived as a vampire by that aforementioned gorgeous stranger. Definitely an interested and hard way to spend a day. But Jane takes it in amazing stride. I mean after all, it's not like vampires are a myth any more. Not after one came out of the closet and sued his old job to get it back and give him the night shifts he had been requesting. That was definitely an interesting take on the vampire myth. And always nice to receive a vampire welcome banquet with a starter kit that every new vampire will need to survive.
As things start to slowly head up between Jane and Gabriel they also start to look down for her. There is some one out there killing vampires... and they are trying to pin it on Jane. We are dragged into a web of lies and confusion and we have to figure out who it is that is playing these games.
However... about half way into the book. It starts to get a little to sugary sweet for my tastes. Like I said, I liked Jane's character, but she was way to reserved and to hesitant on taking risks. Especially with Gabriel. Another thing was, when they do finally have some "sexy" time together, it's during a huge fight and they are kinda doing it on top of broken glass... This just totally didn't fit in my head, it just didn't work for the story.
Besides the "too sugary" part of the books, I personally, found it a little to easy to figure out who was doing the killing and trying to pin it on Jane and exactly why he or she was doing it. Mind you, it's for a rather "weird" (yes that is my way of saying stupid) concept for a vampire want. But let's just go along with it.
All together, while I had some issues with the book, I did enjoy it and do look forward to the next one in the series.(less)

This review is very personal to me. It contains some very personal information. If you don't like to see this in a review, then you should stop reading this now.
To be completely honest, I don't know how to start off with this review. I finished this book over 2 weeks ago and I have yet to figure out an answer to this problem. I have been trying really hard to figure out a way to make this review less personal to me, but I just haven't been able to figure out a way. So I will just have to go with my gut and see what happens.
I picked up this book because it got a really good review from a blogger that I stock. Her reviews have led me to read so really good books so I thought this would be a good read as well. But boy was this something else to read. While reading this I ran through so many different emotions, the most common being: Annoyance and down right anger.
I am not saying this was a bad book to read, not at all. But it was a book that was extremely difficult for me to read. I tried my hardest to be sensitive to the topic that was being discussed. Rape is a hard topic to be covered. A lot of times it is like a voodoo word that people will purposely skip over. I understand this all. However, the way that it was handled in this book, the way that Sidney handled it, by trying to brush it all under a rug, not tell anyone... but it still getting the best of her and herself allowing it to affect all areas of her life and then blaming the guy for taking everything from her... This struck a cord with me.
Early I warned you all that this would be a very personal review. You may be wondering why I said this... It is because I have been a rape victim myself. So I can understand where Sidney is coming from. In a way at least. My experience was from a family member and I had to see him on a constant basis. I was only 12 years old when it happened to me and no I didn't tell anyone what happened. I was a scared little girl. I looked up the statics on rapes and it is kind of shocking to see that about 60-70% of rapes do go unreported.
This is not what really got to me about this book, however. I can understand that she was scared or just didn't know how to explain what had happened to her. Even if she didn't remember the details, she knew what had happened on a physical level. What really gets me, is that fact that she allowed herself to become a victim of this crime. Sidney allowed her world to fall down around her. She allowed herself to lose her friends. She allowed herself to become distant from her mother. She allowed her grades to fail.... etc.
I kept telling myself over and over and over again that I needed to be more open to what was going on in her head. Everybody deals with things differently. But no matter how many times I told myself this, I couldn't handle the fact that she kept blaming the guy that did this to her. Yes, it is a TERRIBLE thing that happened to her, but you can't just lay down and allow yourself to be a victim of the crime as well.
I wanted to see some fight. Some indignation that this guy should dare to take something so very precious from her. But I didn't see any of this in the book. So instead I started to focus on everything else. The relationship that was slowly build upon between Sidney and Corey (the slow build up of trust between them was inspiring to read). The peaks we got into the relationship between Sidney and her mom (which I must say is the best mother/daughter relationship I have ever read in a book). How her mother struggled to raise her. How Sidney and her two girlfriends were eventually able to make up and then ended up being her biggest support system. All of these things are what make the book easier for me to read. It wasn't until the very end, when the truth finally came out that you finally saw a fight in Sidney. This is also when she finally got to see that even those this terrible thing happened to her, the people that she loved and loved her back, still stayed by her side.
This wasn't a bad book. It was just a really hard book for me to read because it was so very personal to me. But I would still recommend it to people to read about because it is an emotionally moving book as well.(less)

It was a very easy read and a very easy world to engulf myself in. It was a different take on Vampires which was a nice thing as well.
I dont know if I necessarily like the romance between Schuyler and Jake, it seemed extremely artifical really and didnt really form a base for anymore romance to continue on with them, but I look forward to see what happens with them. I like the character of Oliver, he is a sweetheart and officially adores Schuyler very much.

Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston is one of those hard books for me to review. Usually I either like a book or I dislike a book, there isn't a lot of grey area for me in that general perspective. Of course there will always be things I dislike like about even the books that I love, as well as there might have been things about a book that I loved even though overall I disliked the book. With Wondrous Strange I just don't know if I liked it, but at the same time I didn't hate it. I think my biggest issue with this whole book is this one simple fact:
It was WAY to predictable.
& not only was it predictable a lot of it just didn't make since to me. The storyline behind it was okay, but I couldn't get a grasp on why a lot of it was even necessary. Or needed for that matter.
It was obvious at the beginning of who's daughter she was. Of who her mother was. It was obvious who was really trying to kill her. I mean come on... When an author puts so much effort into making you think it's one person, it's NEVER that person who is really behind it. That's like the oldest trick in the book. It was even obvious why Kelley and Sonny had such a strong connection. It was obvious why Kelley's necklace was important. It was obvious who Bob was. It was obvious that it would have a disappointing ending (at least for me). Do I really need to keep on with this track and keeping pointing out everything that was obvious with this book? It think you all get the point by now.
& while overall I enjoyed the story (it entertained me enough for me to finish it) I couldn't just sit back and enjoy the book, because.... well you know why. It was to predictable. The only thing that wasn't predictable for me, is why there are Team Banner's for Fenris and Sonny (as opposing love interests) for Kelley's heart. I mean Kelley doesn't even meet Fenris in this book..... maybe I have to make it to book two (Darklight) before that makes sense to me.
So all together, I definitely think I would have enjoyed this read a lot more if Lesley would have put a little more effort into not making everything... well, you know it. Predictable.(less)

Halfway to the Grave was a really enjoyable book to read. Ms. Frost has created a truly entertaining and enjoyable ride. She has created unique and quirky, spunky and gusty characters.
Cat is a half-human, half-vampire, who kills vampires for a living while going to College during the days. She's trying to eventually find her father, the man who ruined her mother's life and helped to create her in the process. However, even though she has been relatively success to date with killing some vamps, one slip up and she is captured by a vampire hunter, who happens to be a vampire himself, Bones to be more accurate.
It is at this point that the book starts to get really interesting. The chemistry and witty banter between Cat and Bones practically sparks off the pages from their first meeting, and as they get closer to one another, those sparks only get sharper.
The book, while at times it could be a little slowly, still worked up nicely and there was plenty of action as well. Watching Bones build up Cat as a hunter was the best and to see their affection grow was oft times more entertaining and hilarious then anything else. It was obviously from the first that Bones was into Cat, but it took Cat a lot longer (with her inborn hatred of all vampires) to get over Bones being one and her to see the man behind the vampire.
The motives behind the "bad" guy in this book, was obvious from the very beginning and it was easy to point out the good side and the bad side. But that was refreshing as well. In a lot of books, I keep finding the problems the good guys have to get over in the books seem to be "overwhelmingly" against them succeeding, but not so in this book. You knew Bones and Cat would over come anything, as long as they had each other.
And then just as they over come the problems facing them, something comes up and budges in the way of their happiness... and Cat is convinced she must give up her happiness with Bones to protect him. But is this really the "end" for them. I highly doubt that. After all, Bones did promise to find her if she ever tried to run away.(less)

I must admit that at the beginning of this book, I was really hesitant about getting into the book. I don't deny that I liked the other two books in this series, but the ending of 'The Exiled Queen' just left me wanting for more of an ending. Like I said in that review, the ending just didn't do anything for me and I was constantly finding myself just not really caring any more about characters that I love. So I must say that I was pleasantly surprised when I was automatically pulled right back into this world and the amazing characters and I found myself jumping for joy (even though I had been worried if I would remember everything that had happened since it had been a while since reading 'The Exiled Queen'). And I loved the fact that Ms. Chima didn't keep Han (my 3rd favorite male character) and Raisa from one another for over half the book like she did in the last two (that being one of my biggest problems with this series from the beginning). And then I found myself crying when Raisa had to break the news to Han of who she truly was because I knew it was going to break his heart, for crying out loud he had just professed his love to her. Which knowing this character as I do by this point, he can say with a good certainty that he has never said to another female (outside of family) before. Not to mention the fact that both Han and Raisa almost died, ow how my heart fluttered at that point.
However, despite the fact that the beginning of this book had me enamoured and I didn't want to put it down for anything, the middle of the book started to drag for me. After the first few chapters I got it, I got the point. Raisa was back home, she was doing everything she could to stay alive, to try and win back Han's trust and to make it through to coronation and become Queen of the Gray Wolf Throne (since her mother was killed in this book). But I couldn't help but finding myself wanting more. I can understand why Hand is trying to keep his distance from Raise, to only what is absolutely necessarily to keep her alive. He has no future with the future Queen of his land and he knows this, he is nothing but a common thief turned wizard (sure he happens to be distantly related to the Queen through blood - but it's a fact that about almost no one, not even Raisa knows) and it would never be allowed for them to marry and be happy with one another. But gracious did I want to see at least a little bit more love between Han and Raisa. Yes, there were 2 sweet scenes between them that gave me hope for their future happens together, but I guess after 3 books I was just hoping for more then a few random kisses between them (there was more hot and heavy loving in 'The Exiled Queen' then there was here). [Insert a sigh of disappoint here].
And while Ms. Chima effectively made me to lose any and all desires to ever find out that I have royal blood in me, she was unable to excite any other emotion in me during the ending of this book except disappointment at the ending. I just found myself saying 'WTF!' just happened here? The ending of the book just lagged. It felt to me as if Ms. Chima didn't know how to genuinely end this book and she just put it together to get us to the fourth book in the series that comes out in about a year or so. It just ended, there wasn't (at least for me) any closure at all. And while I know that it's the last book in the series job to wrap everything up and finish off a series for readers, I still like it when a book can wrap it's own storyline up before it throws you into the next part of it's story.
Also one of the biggest thing's that bothered me about this book was the fact that it was practically forgotten about that the 'Demon King' was still in a matter of speaking living within Han's talisman. And that Han had pissed him off and had sworn to somehow fix the problem and get his advice and help. From the middle to end it was never mentioned and that part of the book seemed like a big issue to me. I mean how do you forget about the strongest wizard to ever live (and one that helped to break the world)? HOW!!! [sigh] I guess that will be addressed in the next book to come. [keeps her finger's crossed].
& while the entire time all that is going through my head is, 'How could you do this again to me Ms. Chima?' I must admit that I do genuinely enjoy this series and that I look forward to reading 'The Crimson Crown' and seeing how Ms. Chima wraps up Riasa and Han's story and finds them the true and magnificent kind of love they both deserve. However, I had quite a few other series that I was currently in the process of reading, so I held off on getting it. I finally gave in and bought it at random one night and started reading it later that same day. To say that I was engrossed in it from page one would be an understatement. I absolutely ADORED this book. The characters are some of the most developed characters that I have run across in a YA fantasy novel in quit awhile. Not only are the main character's greatly developed, the supporting characters are as well, and I found myself loving every single character in this book, even the ones that frustrated me. I find myself IMPATIENT for 'Awake at Dawn' to come out in October so that this story can be continued and I can go back to Shadow Falls Camp and see how these characters continue to interact and grow.
I must say at the beginning I was Team Derek but by the end of the book im totally Team Lucas. I can clearly see that Derek is a sweet guy and obviously really likes Kylie, however for the life of me I can only see them as REALLY good friends. In the end I cant see them as anything more then that. I just think in the end that while Lucas may not be the safest or easiest choice for Kylie that that is who truly pushes her buttons and brings out TRUE and DEEP emotion within her.
And besides the great character development, something else that I found amazing about this book is that while I have read a LOT of YA fantasy (vampire, werewolf, etc.) books. Their plots start to merge together and be similar to where they get predictable and boring. However, I found this plot (while not COMPLETELY original) a breathe of fresh air. It took a well know idea and twisted it around and made it different and new and enjoyable all over again. It made me want to put away my 'break' from reading and to start reading non-stop again.
I LOVE all these characters. I found myself connecting with Kylie and while at first I found her quit annoying, it ended up loving her by the end of the book. I adored Della and Miranda from the beginning. And their spats that they constantly found themselves in, where absolutely hilarious. I don't think that C.c. Hunter could have created a better friendship between these three characters. Derek was a nice characters and was cute right from the beginning. I sort of didn't like him when it looked like he had put aside his feelings for Kylie so easily but later on he grew on me again. Lucas was a harder character to really like at first, but by the end I couldn't wait to find out more about him. Helen was a sweet character to learn about and I hope that her role in 'Awake at Dawn' grows and she is put more up front with all the others and steps out of the limelight. Holiday I found to be the best 'adult' figure in a book that I've read in quit awhile. Her and Kylie's closeness is really endearing and quit believable.
Overall I absolutely adored this book and dont regret that night I decided to randomly get it. It was definitely the right choice. This is a series that I can definitely see myself at rating as 5-stars all around. I see it as being one of my all time favorites. Let's keep our fingers crossed for 'Awake at Dawn'. October couldn't get here any sooner.(less)

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!! MY Dimitri is coming back...... AHHHH!!!!! Did I meant yet that Dimitri will be appearing in 'The Golden Lily' the next book in the branch off series of 'Vampire Academy'. OMG! I LOVED this book. Yea at first I couldnt stand Sydney. She rather irriatated me and her constant hesitation around the vampires annoyed me, seeing how this is a vampire based series.
I did find the plot line rather predictable, but I loved the development of Adrian's character in 'Bloodlines'. I must admit that in the 'Vampire Academy' books I HATED his character. But I must say I was rather biased with those books as well. Because if you couldnt already tell Im a HUGE Dimitri fan. And Rose and Dimitri had to be together in my opinion. Rose was just never right for Adrian, it was always Dimitri and Rose from the very beginning.
I loved Jill in this book as well, as well as the development of Eddie's character. I find them really cute together. And the tendency and friendship that developed between Adrian and Sydney in this book was brilliant. It was definitely what they both needed. I loved this book and it was definitely well worth the wait. <3(less)

Oh, how I LOVE this series, Ms. FitzPatrick is a genius. I can honestly say that I haven't truly enjoyed myself while reading a book as much as I did while I was reading 'Silence'.
I found myself unable to get 'Silence' out of my head. I was constantly thinking about it no matter where I was if I wasn't reading it. And when I was reading it I was so enraptured by it, that I couldn't bring myself to put it down unless I absolutely had to. I even stopped playing my xbox on my days off because I would rather pick up 'Silence' and find myself engulfed in the love story of Patch and Nora.
I must say, that Patch has made it to the top 5 of my favorite hero list.
1. Edward (what can I say, I'm a Twilight fan) 2. Dimitri 3. Patch 4. Han 5. Sam
(5 points to anyone who can tell me which book the other 3 hero's come from =D)
While there was ton's of drama and danger going on in this book, I still found myself warm and cozy within this world. I felt safe. One of my favorite thing's that Nora said in this book was that she couldn't remember who 'Jev' was to her, but she knew she felt safe around him. He made her feel safe. And that is something that I can soooo totally agree with her on. This world was safe and it gave me the urge and want to move to Maine myself. LOL.
At first, when I was read the description for this book, I was a little weary. I honestly didn't know how I would take Nora's 'memory loss'. But I must say that Ms. FitzPatrick pulled it off brilliantly. I loved everything about this book. I can't honestly find anything wrong with this story. I love it to much.
And I must say this, I read some of the other review's for this book (on the goodreads website) and I must say this: JUST SHUT UP!! Stop complaining! Stop bitching, and stop hating that there is going to be another book in this series. While I understand that it was originally set as a 3 book series and now everything is bitching how Ms. FitzPatrick is extending this series for the money factor, let me tell you this. As a writer of stories myself, I can tell you from personal experience that stories change. And they change so much and so often. They take on qualities and factors that sometimes not even the author originally saw coming. I am in the process of writing my own book and I can't tell you how many times this book has completely changed its for me and I've had to stop and re-evaluate what is going on and ask the characters what is going to happen next. So stop complaining and instead, come and join me in my impatient wait for the fourth book in this series. =D
CAN'T WAIT MS. FITZPATRICK!!!!
P.S. I love what happened to Nora at the end of this book, not necessarily why she had to make the vow, but I love how now she won't be so completely vulnerable.(less)

'Darkness Becomes Her' by Kelly Keaton was a wonderfully delightful read that left me panting for more.
This book is action from practically the very first page and doesn't stop until the last word has had it's say. It wraps you up within it's reality and you finally see the world that you didn't know exists until then. I never wanted to put this book down except when I absolutely had no other choice (work or sleeping).
Ari was everything that I look for in a heroine. Except for one or two moments at the beginning of the book when she got on my nerves she finally came into herself and kicked ass. She didn't back down and after excepting that her family line was cursed took all the steps that she could to free herself.
She even took a guardian sent to kill her head on and came out victorious, not once but twice. And then even managed to rescue a whole slew of otherworldly creatures who would later come to her rescue as well.
Sebastian was also a wonderfully delightful character and added a whole different flavor to the atmosphere. While he was dark and mysterious at first, he slowly warms up to Ari and by the end of it all he genuinely wants to help Ari out as much as he can. I love the guys who have a rough exterior but still have a soft heart deep down. And him and Ari were absolutely adorable together. While I wasn't to big on the almost instant love that occurred between them, I still loved almost every scene between them.
I also enjoyed how Ms. Keaton weaved in the development of Sebastian's character and how it is his family and the other families came to be who they were. It seemed flawless that they were special. And the fact that I didn't see who coming who Ari really was and who had cursed her was brilliant. I had never read a book before that had supernaturals and gods. WHAT! That's awesomeness.
While this was a quick fast read, I thoroughly enjoyed every little bit of it and highly look forward to getting 'A Beautiful Evil' the next book in the series.(less)

It has helped to develop the characters a lot more and has also introduced a very interesting character (Kingsley) as well. There were a lot of twists that I didnt see coming and a few that I had figured out already. However, whenever an author is able to pull a twist I did not see coming, I give that author great credit, for most have not been able to stump me that much. However, I must say Melissa de la Cruz, definitely knows how to weave a tale and keep you interested all at the same time. She keeps leaving you with cliffhangers where you just have to keep reading on so you can come to the end and figure out what it is that is actually going on.
I like the development between Jack and Schuyler even more. I can see a little bit of where there is true affection. However, I still see them as using each other for their own personal gains at this point. Jack is still to much wrapped around Mimi's finger for him to be a truly beloved character in my opinion, but his status has definitely raised a little bit since Blue Bloods.
Oliver still remains to be one of my favorite characters, yet at the same time I see his character coming to a very hard and dark place. For the simple fact of how much he is in love Schuyler and how much she loves him as a brother. And this new bond between them will only make it that much harder when they are inevitably ripped apart.
I am still a little confused on what exactly is going on with Bliss, so hopefully a little more is revealed in Revelatons to make that more understandable.
& by the title of the third book, one would be left with the impression that a lot of secrets are going to be coming out.(less)

I found it rather sad though, that it was the last book. But I realise that the extend of this story had come to it's close. There would really be no where else for Ms. Stiefvater to go with this series.
The one thing that I loved about this series the most was the fact that you would actually FEEL the love between Sam and Grace. The scene with them in the bathroom, while Sam was taking a shower and afterwards was one of the sweetest parts of a book that I have ever had the fortune to read. I could literally see Sam and Grace 50 years from now, older and greyer, still wrapped in each other's arm's, loving one another as much if not more then they did at that point in their life's.
I loved the deeper development of Isabel and Cole's characters. The electric tug between them was palpable. It gave them both softer sides, considering they were the "tougher" main characters in the series. And while I felt that Isabel's end story was a little unfair and definitely unfinished, I enjoyed how it gave you all kinds of images of how her story would play out. Would Cole and her ever meet again, would they learn to truly come to love one another or was that were their story ended? Cole's story, definitely showed me deceiving appearances can be, and to definitely not judge a book by it's cover. Cole is definitely not someone you would at first depend on, based on appearance and attitude alone, but he turns out to be one of the most trust worthy of characters in the whole book.
I cried at the end when Beck was killed, but not when Shelby finally found her end. It was about time that something happened to her, and she feels a measure of the pain that she has inflicted on others.
Over all, while I wished that Ms. Stiefvater would had given us a definite cure to the 'wolf' syndrome, it was a sweet ending and gave me hope for the future. (less)

This was originally a very difficult book to get into, mainly because it jumped right into all the action (without properly explaining some things in the beginning) that made it rather confusing. Ms. Hayes, had the tendency to switch between (what you later found out in the book) was the dream world and the world Theia lived in. So at any given point, besides the obvious (dancing skeletons, goblins and other creepy creatures) you never knew what world you were currently in. Yet at the same time, while this confused me, it was also what drug me into the book, that and the great characters and their interactions.
Theia, Donny and Amelia (Ame for short) could not have been any different from one another. However, they complimented each other perfectly. And you could tell the honest and true friendship that they shared between one another. They were all a breath of fresh air in my opinion when it comes to YA heroines.
There was never a forced moment in this book, but it was also this very thing that made the middle part of it DRAG. And not in a good way. By the middle of the book, I was sort of bored with it all and the book really didn't seem to be going any where for me. I was finding myself crossed eyed quite often just by trying to read parts of it.
The redeeming fact about it was the ending. OME, how I did not see it coming. Oh, the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers in a book. If there was an award for most agonizing cliff hangers of all time I do believe Ms. Hayes would have won hands down. How can you end a book there and torture your readers so? Thankfully I had a copy of 'Dreaming Awake' with me already.
Altogether, I was not originally a fan of this book. It had the tenacity to grow on me by the ending and I knew I had 'Fallen Under'.
