I loved anything that includes road trips and when I see this one sitting on a shelf in my library I just knew I had to check it out. Also, it's the perfect summer read. Tiernan and Summer decided to go on the trip with Alice because thy wanted to run away from things back home but after a while they began to see the trip as a way to get everything off their chests about what happened four years ago at a high school dance. I lived how they easily fell into their old routines and habits after so many years apart and ignoring each other. Reunited had a lot of different possibilities on how to end but I'm glad that Hilary ended it the way she did, it was remarkable. (less)

And that ending...omg...there had better be a second one, because that ending left so many things hanging.
Burn for Burn tells the story of three girls, Lillia, Kate, and Mary. Each girl has been hurt by somebody and this is their way to get back at them. Lillia wants revenge on a boy so he won't hurt her little sister like she was. Kate wants revenge on a girl who used to be her best friend but now just throws insults her way because she's cooler than her. And Mary wants revenge on the boy her made seventh grade a living hell. But these girls don't know that messing with karma can turn wrong. (less)

But I finally picked it up a few days ago and I thought it was amazing. The summary sort of threw me off because the first sentence it says "Everybody loves Lexi. She's popular, smart, funny". And that's not exactly true. Yes, she is smart and funny and she does have people that love her, but she isn't quite that popular.
Lexi Anderson is your run-of-the-mill sixteen year old girl, except for one thing ... she spends her weekends at beauty pageants. No, she isn't the one in the pageants, it's her seven year old little sister Mac. Lexi spends her days at school hanging out with her two best friends, Benny and Cam and crushing over Logan, the popular boy that every girl has a crush on. But she spends her weekends at different pageants catering to the wants of a seven year old and her mother. Lexi is just counting down the days until she can move to New York and escape from her life at home.
Bennny and Cam are always telling Lexi that she can be really pretty, if she would just dress nicer more often. So Benny dares Lexi to come to school one day wearing makeup and a dress. And she does and it changes everything. Now, people are paying attention to her and she also gets her first date. But she soon realizes that being popular isn't all that is hyped up to be. Just because somebody is beautiful on the outside doesn't necessarily mean that they are beautiful on the inside.
At the end of the book, there's this one quote that I really love:
"And it's only a matter of time before the Beautiful People will be wishing they had great personalities, too. Good luck with that, oh Beautiful Ones. Because we Great Girls are the rarest breed." ~pg. 90(less)
