It is about a colony of ants and one very lazy grasshopper. The ants work hard all winter to gather their food they will need. The grasshopper does not. He is too busy goofing off and have fun. When winter comes around, the ants have all the food and shelter they need. The grasshopper on the other hand was freezing and hungry. He is too busy goofing off and having fun. They all seemed to understand the concept very well because when I asked them clarifying questions about the story, they could answer them. Along with 2nd graders, I think this would be a great story for K-3rd grade. (less)

Since they share the home, they must share the food. one day the school of fish got scared of the whale and fought and lost their home. Then they all apologize and became friends and found a new home for all of them. I love this book. It along with the other books in the series are definites on my bookshelf. This one is one of my alltime favorites. It potrays a great message for children and has great illustrations also. They will all enjoy it. (less)

At the begginning, they dont get along and Hopscotch wants to be left alone and towards the end, they start to warm up to each other and get along great. I loved this book. I think it would be great to use in Pre-school and Kindergarten because it is about seperation issues and those happen a lot to children during those ages. This story was easy for me to relate to because I experienced that a lot when I was youger. (less)

The whole day, Ira contemplates taking his teddy and decides not to. Then eventually, when the friends are telling ghost stories, Regi gets his teddy and is embarressed, but then Ira goes and gets his. I liked this book. It is easy for children to relate to because most children have some type of something they keep close to them from home. At certain ages, kids dont want to be made fun of by their friends and this is a good story to share to help them realize how to handle those situations.(less)

At the begginning of the story, I knew there would be some suspence brought in. Throughout the story the suspence continues because the reader will want to figure out if the girls will end up being friends or enemies when the exchange of their actual bunnies happens. But of course, it ends happily and shows an excellent model of friendship. This would be a great book for pre-k-2nd grade. It touches the subjects of relationships with friends and also sharing. Also, it could be a great introduction to show and tell.(less)
