This isn’t my first foray into the world of ShaylCrime, death and a lot of hot sex! Have I got your attention? Then you should read Theirs to Cherish.
This isn’t my first foray into the world of Shayla Black. I’ve read her other works, but not in this series. That didn’t detract from my enjoyment with this book. It sizzles with sexual tension and the writing crackles. I needed to know what would happen next.
Like I said, I haven’t read the others in this series, but I didn’t think that was a problem. The characters were described well enough and the story solid enough for me to keep up. That said, there were moments I skimmed through pages, needing more action. The story isn’t boring, but the pacing could’ve been ramped up a bit.
So who are the players? Thorpe is the head Dom of Club Domination. He’s a tough guy and isn’t terribly easy to understand. I got that he was uber alpha, but there were moments I wished he’d have cracked a bit. He’s got a back story I won’t divulge and it’s heady. It’s hardened him. I liked that he was crusted over, but I had a very hard time liking him. He came across, as the heroine says, like a caveman.
Then there’s Sean. He’s the Dom Callie ends up with at the end of the previous book. He’s multi-dimensional, but also hard to love. I wanted to like him earlier on and I’m glad I kept reading to find out his secrets. The one thing that drove me crazy about him and Thorpe was the drive. I liked that they had to learn to get along, but the conversation was stilted in spots and didn’t seem terribly masculine. Do guys really talk about their emotions that much?
Callie is a conundrum, too. She’s not just a bratty sub – and she’s very bratty – she’s also a on the run heiress. I get this is fiction and she’s going to be a tad larger than life, but I had a hard time connecting with her. Many times I thought she would zig and instead she zagged. Her dialogue comes across bubbly at times and whiny at others. I really wanted to like her and root for her, but I ended up putting the book down more often than not.
Now don’t get me wrong. I didn’t dislike this book. There were hot scenes throughout. The sex sizzles and you’ll want something cold by the time the book is over and the mystery itself was strong.
If you want a menage story with a BDSM twist and mystery to boot, then this might be the book for you. ...more

Certainly it can be titillating because what woman wouldn’t want to be worshiped by six adoring men? It’s not exactly easy when the heart is involved.
This is a short shot story about a courtship. It’s unique because there are no flowers or sweet words to pave the way. Tom is the alpha and his human half is going to disappear forever if he doesn’t get things right. I found the brothers’ dilemma interesting and the author was able to convey the almost panicked frame of mind of the alpha. And, typical man that he is, he wasn’t going to let the heroine get away. Tom needs a woman’s calming influence because what he did would have had me cuffing him aside the head for his bone headedness. But, he got the job done.
Kitty’s emotions are clear enough. She’s been dealing with the lemons life has thrown her. Now she can forget about making the lemonade and go right for the steak, caviar and chocolate ice cream because life is about to get very sweet and exciting. All she needs to do is accept this change in her fortune. And she does. It’s her reaction that has me suspending my logic and believability. I had to if I wanted to enjoy this little snippet into the beginning of a very convoluted courtship. There is no way a normal red-blooded American woman would tolerate being manhandled the way she was only to allow being manhandled later for much better and spicier reasons. I understand the constraints put upon an author when it comes to writing a short piece but I really didn’t believe anyone would or could turn around and accept the situation as fast as Kitty does. Saying she’s afraid didn’t make me believe it, there wasn’t enough there to convince me.
Even so, the sensual promise is there. The sexy undercurrents are potent and the small amount of emotional drama allowed did make the story enjoyable and it does make me glad that Kitty is willing to give things a whirl, eventually. The editing is clean, the dialogue flowed well and each personality stood out as an individual.
The Claiming is the stuff of erotic fantasies. As this is the first book in the series, I expect the next ones will be even more sexy and exciting because the courtship is done and fun can now begin. This tale teased this reader’s curiosity, which if that was its intent, did it well. ...more

Some tasters may prefer one over the other and some like a little bit of both. Angus, Lily and Blake’s story is like a lovely sampling of wine and when combined the whole effect was heady and delicious.
Angus is a blue collar man, used to working long days with his hands literally in the dirt. He’s an uber talented landscaper who’s more comfortable with a cold beer than an aromatic wine bouquet. Until he meets Lily. Angus is such a sweetheart, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him right along with Lily and Blake. He’s honest and real. The way Ms. Dee describes him from both Lily and Blake’s POV made him just as mouth watering to me and he was to them.
Lily is everything that is bright, sparkly and sweet about the wine she loves. She comes from money but it isn’t who she is. She’s talented and very perceptive which goes a long way towards moving what might have only ever been a duo into a solid chance as a trio. She’s spunky and very passionate.
Blake is the third piece of this triangle. He’s crazy wealthy but like Lily, the money doesn’t define him. He’s long denied his love for Lily and I liked the author’s explanation for why. The scenes with him and Angus are supremely hot as I know, from experience, that Jess Dee can write. She doesn’t disappoint.
This is a short story. It’s perfect for an erotic fix and like a nice glass of wine, it’s just enough. I’d love to have seen the time just before the story begins to watch the tension really build between Angus and Lily; going back to when they first met. But, it didn’t ruin the story for me for not having read that part. Ms. Dee does a great job of sprinkling in the tension with touch and tastes samples.
I read it in a single sitting and look forward to the next installment. I hope she keeps with the MMF theme in the next one as well. If you’re short on time but want a satisfying taste of something that’s hot, sweet and savory at the same time, check out Summer Wine. ...more

TA dress that falls off when the wearer is near her true love??? That should save us from kissing lots of frogs during our search for Prince Charming!
Tasha thought the cursed wedding dress would prove that Jason was her true love, but it didn’t fall off which was what it should have done if he was the person she was meant to be with. She ran out of his apartment and into an elevator with Nathan, a guy from Jason’s office, when the dress fell off. Then it fell off again for someone she thought was Nathan. She is the owner of two bakeries, but Jason, a businessman, does not believe that she is smart enough to interact socially with his peers. What a jerk, I thought, and it was his loss since he didn’t see what an amazing person Tasha is.
Nathan is a straight-laced businessman, but that’s where his resemblance to Jason ends. Nathan has some quirkiness including a thing for bright, candy apple red things including his car and Tasha’s red panties. Nathan’s cousin, Kiah, is a macho firefighter who also falls for Tasha. The two of them have a sizzling, constant tug of war over Tasha, who does not mind sharing after her initial consternation when she realized that Kiah wasn’t Nathan.
I enjoyed reading about how Nathan, Kiah, and Tasha worked things out between themselves in Candy Apple. There’s a bit of exhibitionism that goes with the voyeurism, all part of a very hot read that I highly recommend. Ms. St. Clare kept my interest with her fast paced story that includes many sexy scenes that sent my heart rate soaring. May your search for true love go as well as Tasha’s!

When Sarah decides to let Anderson have his way with her and get beyond the stockings and onto bare flesh, things go decidedly wrong. Anderson takes it upon himself to take her anally and she is not prepared. Feeling very much under attack, she screams and is rescued by a werewolf. When she comes to, she is in a cave and being tended to by the town pastor who has been missing. Lust filled images ravage her mind as she begins to find herself changing in body and soul into a wild creature of the woods. Just as she thinks she has things figured out, some added complications muddy the waters. Where is Anderson? What man will she ultimately give her heart to? What if she chooses both?
This story was a Romance on the Go, which I really enjoy for the short lunch break size books. Quick and to the point with spicy storylines, these books are perfect for busy women with not as much time as they want to read the sexy stories they crave. This book is a good addition to the line, but I had a few issues with some of the echoing throughout the story. The same word was used repeatedly within close proximity and it was a little distracting. The characters were not ones I would normally warm up to just by the way the story was written. There was a distance between the reader and the players in the book that I don’t usually find with Giselle Reynard.
There is a particular scene that could be a trigger for victims of sexual violence. Anderson basically tries to rape Sarah anally. She is expecting consensual vanilla sex and is really unprepared when he violently goes for the wrong orifice. It was a little disconcerting. Was I supposed to vote for him as the hero or not? Not after that. When the werewolf saves Sarah and carts her away, I felt better. Maybe this was our hero. Then he is accused of murdering her father. Hmm.
As I read further, the animalistic side of Sarah begins to emerge more and more and her carnal desires bubble to the surface. She tries to stop both men from killing each other and as the hunger for blood turns to lust for the flesh, she ends up in a ménage that was very steamy and ice water inducing.
Any time I read a book by Giselle Renarde, I look for the extreme detail she layers on with culture, speech and setting. This book had a timeless quality that felt like the present, but really could have been any time within the last seventy years. It had a flow, once you got past the echoes and the disconcerting feeling about not being sure who the hero was. The sinfully delicious werewolves delved deep into the fantasy of ménage and were very inspiring.
If you enjoy a short tale about a woman who just can’t give up one man for another and loves a bit of howling love in the moonlight, then this book is for you.
The title says it all with this book. Hotter Than Ever is definitely the best story yet in the sexy Out of Uniform series from Elle Kennedy. Claire isThe title says it all with this book. Hotter Than Ever is definitely the best story yet in the sexy Out of Uniform series from Elle Kennedy. Claire is the jilted bride- left at the alter by her spineless fiance. Dylan is the best man- brother of the groom- left holding the bag of crap that is explaining his brother’s last minute change of heart. Aidan is the “other” guy: Dylan’s lover and housemate. He’s a charismatic charmer with a hot body and a seductive gaze.
Claire was stunned when her groom ran off minutes before their wedding. Even more shocking was his brother Dylan’s suggestion that she lick her wounds at his apartment in San Diego. The pair had a mutual animosity that was based on misconception. Claire is one of the few people who knows about the important secret Dylan is keeping about his intimate relationship with his housemate, Aidan.
Aidan is sexy as sin and intuitive as hell. Love and hate are kissing cousins…and he realizes way before Dylan or Claire that they are attracted to each other. That’s okay because he wants them both, and it’s not like he and his guy haven’t shared women before. It takes a few days, and a serious intervention from Aidan, before the bickering pair get to the root of their anger. It seems that people and situations aren’t always what they seem.
The trio began a relationship that was based on lust but it soon turned into something so much deeper. Then bam !!! Soon as they recognize the importance of what they’ve found…conflict starts hitting from all different directions. The triad get some serious flak with major fallout to deal with. You know I can’t tell you what happened. And don’t get me started about that low-down dirty fiance of Claire’s. Suffice it to say…that jerk was in serious need of a butt kicking.
The sexual tension between these three players was amazing. My favorite love scenes were the steamy M/M; Kennedy has a flair for putting on the smexy. The writer outdid herself on those fabulous oral scenes and amazing anal, but it was the way she put the emotions into them that put the story on a romantic level. Aidan had this thing about looking into Dylan’s eyes and holding his hand…it put a smile on my face and a gasp on my lips. The three-ways were just as strong. Splendidly erotic and perfectly choreographed. One on one action was spectacular, with each guy using his own perfect technique for seducing Claire. Kennedy had me panting right along with Claire, as Dylan and Aidan corrupted her with their seductive wiles.
This book had loads of goodness going on all over the place. A wonderful relationship grew between Claire and her men. They started out as a fling, then it grew into a romantic relationship with a close friendship. They looked for ways to be there for each other, and when they chose being together over everything else I felt that it was meant to be.
Then there was the close friendship between the SEAL friends and the easy acceptance that came with it. This brought an even deeper enjoyment to the story and I couldn’t get enough of it. In fact, I’m already thinking ahead to at least one more SEAL left to get his story. Hurry up, Ms. Kennedy, and introduce some new hot SEALs for me to drool over.

There are twenty three poems and short stories that take eroticism and throw it to the winds, letting it fall wherever it may. These short pieces and pearls of poetry take in gay, straight, lesbian and everything in between and craft moving tales and thoughts that both arouse and make you think about what you are reading. To me, it was a love story; a gift to the reader that appreciates fine writing and not your typical episodes of BDSM.
The short works of fiction in this collection blew my mind. They are windows into worlds that some of us never imagine we could be a part of. Isn’t that the true gift of reading, or writing for that matter? The ability to read something and go somewhere far, far away from the screaming kids, the endless day at work, or doing the supper dishes. As an author, the greatest joy I have is in writing something that invokes that feeling, and Elissa Wald did just that. This book was one of the most engaging reads I have read in quite awhile. Think brilliant primary colors. Think carnival lights and swarthy men with tattoos. Think sex.
From the first story, The Initiation, where we meet Delilah, a budding submissive who struggles with the demons inside her, to the sexy Kim who isn’t quite sure what to make of Delilah’s fixation on pain. This story was gripping and visceral and I couldn’t put the book down, even to sleep. The second story installment is Ruby and the Bull. This is the story of Ruby and Judd. She calls him the Bull, and as the story unwinds, he has found her diary and is about to get a nasty shock when he reads it. Spicy, raw and undulating, this tale is gritty and on edge.
The third story in the collection is The Resolution. Full of the glitz and fading glitter of the big top, we meet Lottie, a runaway and Jorge, an outcast in the circus. Teased mercilessly for his gay status, Jorge is bitter and standoffish. When Lottie unknowingly insults him, it starts a winding path down a love that will last a lifetime. This story will bring tears to your eyes and a breath of longing to your heart.
Story number four, The Houseboy, is a major head trip and one that had me thinking about it even when I wasn’t reading it. Troy is a boy lost in a sea of high schoolers lost in the fray of his life. When the Sergeant comes to speak, he finds a role model and a curious object of affection. Writing letters and insinuating himself into the Sergeant’s life, lies and betrayals can unravel even the deepest of dreams.
Number five, Missing the Boat, is a ménage scenario that brings many elements to the scene. Dominance, submission and more entertain in this soul deep take on friendship and fascination when the tables get turned and lines begin to blur.
The sixth story, Turned Out, is a beautiful story about hope growing up from a bed of concrete. Nelson has just gotten out of prison and while he is happy, his senses are on overload. He misses the routine and security of the life inside and the domineering partnership he shared with The Axe, the male dominant he subbed to inside. This piece walks you through deep feelings and longings of the heart.
The last story, The Illustrating Man, is one that will stick in your mind long after you have read it. Sexy and as intricate as a well done tattoo, this story takes off when a female reporter finds out a childhood savior is wanted for murder. In a beautifully wound tale, the author shows you people that were affected by the artist’s insight and unique method of tattooing. It is sensual and one that scratches down into the deepest part of you and leaves a mark.
The poetry in this collection is also inspiring, spiritual and evocative.
If you are looking for a book that takes you into the souls of many unique and worthy characters, then you need to read this collection. Rich, lush and full of vibrant eroticism, this book is a keeper on my favorite shelf. You won’t forget any of the characters and how easily this author can slip into the minds of anyone and walk a mile in their shoes. The erotic portions are done very well and titillate the mind as well as the body.
For a collection that will have you dreaming carnival dreams of tattooed men, ladies that lust and of heartfelt loves that like life, do not always have a sparkling happily ever after, then you need to read this book.

I loved the premise of the story and the story overall. I enjoyed the paranormal elements to the story, as well.
Synn MacAllistair was trapped in time believing he brought the red death to the doorstep of the historical building that Rena is now trying to open a bed and breakfast in. Synn is driven to help the souls that were lost believing he doomed them. Synn is a very conflicted character. He has one goal and does not want anything to get in the way of that goal. Rena seems to be significant to Synn being able to set the ghosts free.
I found it unrealistic how Rena and Valerie had such a casual attitude toward the ghosts that appeared all over the property. I would have expected either Valerie of Rena to become upset some way. I also found it very unbelievable that it did not occur to anyone that Synn might be something paranormal. I also think Eric, the evil ghost, added little the overall story, nor was he a focus of the story. He was more of a pain.
What did I love? The chemistry between Synn and Rena! I loved the sex scenes between them. They were very hot and steamy. This is a true love story between them.
The happy ending in this story was absolutely perfect and completely unexpected. In fact, this story has many plot twists that kept me interested throughout. Overall, this was a great story.
King Cobra is the first in Jayne Rylon’s new Hot Rods series. Hot Rods is a offshoot of her successful Powertools series, and with Hot Rods, Ms. Rylon has turned up the heat even more, with lots of super hot men and one woman, each with a special talent to complete the team.
Eli London runs the very unique and successful Hot Rods Restoration Team. The team is Eli’s family, maybe not by blood, but in every other way that counts. They grew up together, taken in by Eli’s father to honor the memory of his mother. Now, they are a respected and talented team of auto restorers, making magic with each car they restore.
But Eli has been distracted, ever since he and his best friend/head mechanic Alanso got back from a visit to see his cousin Joe. What they saw there, with Joe and the whole crew, keeps going through Eli’s head, and he wants what the crew has: a close and loving relationship with the team. Especially Alanso, and yet, he is afraid that acting on his desires could ruin what they have. Alanso wants it all as well, but most of all, he wants Eli, and not as just a friend anymore. When Eli hesitates too long, Alanso takes off, determined to find out what being with a man can be like.
When Eli finally tells the team what has been on his mind, the surprise him with their enthusiastic interest in the idea, but tell Eli he had better bring Alanso back from wherever he’s gone, before things go all wrong. What Eli sees from his vantage point takes him past the point of no return, and he and Alanso finally admit their feelings for each other. After an incinerating bedroom scene between these two, things are looking up, until bad news arrives, in the form of a letter concerning Alanso’s long gone mother. As Eli tries to help Alanso cope, they spend a night drinking, and bring a woman back to the garage to share. Unknown to them, they have an audience of one, Mustang Sally, and she is devastated by their actions. When sobriety returns, they realize that they have, however unintentionally, hurt one of the team, one special woman they both love. Can they build on their relationship, and figure out how to bring Sally back into their lives? Can Alanso finally put the ghost of his mom to rest? And will the Hot Rods be ready and willing to take things to the next level, together?
Seven men, one woman, with high revving libidos all around. The characters are all well defined, charismatic and deeply passionate, at work and outside it. King Cobra sets the stage for what is to come in this series, and what a fantastic start it is. I like this world Ms. Rylon created, a place where people can be what they are meant to be, and relationships are complex and yet never confusing.
Eli London is King Cobra, leader of the team of Hot Rods. Strong, caring and torn in two by his feelings for not just Alanso, but the whole team. He considers all of them family, and he doesn’t know how he could lust after these people he has grown up with. It’s only when the fear that he may have driven Alanso away forever, that he faces his fears, and the team, with what he wants. I love Eli, because he tries so hard to do what is right, he is so loyal and determined to do what is best. It is only when he realizes he has to be true to himself that he is able to reach out to the others and see a chance at having it all.
Alanso Diaz is strong, sexy and frustrated by Eli’s hesitance. He knows what he wants, what he is, and I liked that about him, his innate honesty in the face of Eli’s denial. I worried a bit when he took off, determined to find out what he was missing, but that worked out better than I could have hoped. I cried a bit at the news about his mom, but it did bring some closure for him, showing him the truth. I was happy to see his ability to roll with the punches, and stay strong even when he makes an error in judgment.
There are some really hot bits in this, and the secondary characters are as well crafted and the leads in this one. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the team fit in to the dynamic that started here. I look forward to seeing more of Roman, Sally, Kaige, Carver Holden and Bryce, and how each one becomes a part of the whole. The emotion in this one touched me, I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with Eli and Alanso. I look forward to falling under the spell of each and every member of the team, and I hope my fan will last through the series. This is for all those romance fans that believe love is love, and where there is love, life is just fine....more
Two men, in love and lust, looking for a third to share their bed and their lives.
Jack Samson, a vet in Sumerset, finds himself the center of attention between Brady and Simon, an established couple who put pleasure top of their list of priorities. Things heat up between them, but is it just fun or is there more to be had from their connection?
This book jumps straight into some steamy M/M/M action in a dark corner of a club. It went for the jugular so to speak and set the tone for the rest of the story, in other words, sexy, seriously steamy and well written.
I adored all three characters, they each had flaws, they each had things about them that appealed to me. The author really got their individuality across well. The sex was smokin’ throughout, like seriously e-reader burning if M/M/M is your thing!
There were the usual ups and downs in the plot but it was more relationship focused than anything else, apart from a bit at the end with a sick horse, and I liked that. The author got it just right for me, so much so that it felt real, like these guys really could live this way, happily and together for all of time.
If you enjoy reading about handsome, sexy men getting off together then this is a good book to try. Solid characters, sex that makes sense on every level for them and a nice long read you can get your teeth into. I would certainly read more by TA Chase....more
“No strings” dating sounded great to Stephanie but only up to the point where she realized that no strings meant her wolves would have to look elsewhere for a mate. She might have to give them up but she didn’t have to be happy about it.
Boys can be so clueless sometimes. Jordan and Shaw are trying to obey the packs orders to find a mate. Even without knowing that the three of them belonged together, I could see that Jordan and Shaw wouldn’t be happy with anyone but Stephanie and vice versa. Their story was going to be one of those “You don’t know what you got till it’s (almost) gone” type tropes. I figured that out pretty early on but it didn’t detract from the story in the least. I was anticipating how the author would bring them all to the realization that they didn’t just have great chemistry during the full moon phases. They were totally meant to be!
I liked all three of the characters in Ms. Tortuga’s short story but Shaw is just precious. He’s such a typical wolf pup. He’s eager to please, loves to play and he wants so bad to keep Stephanie. Jordan isn’t the pack alpha but he clearly makes the calls for this threesome. He’s just controlling enough with the right amount of gruff to keep both Shaw and Stephanie on their toes and ready to follow orders. Stephanie comes from a long line of magick. She’s independent, talented and is just realizing how much actually loves two clueless wolves.
Ms. Tortuga doesn’t make her readers wait long to see just how hot these three are together. The first time is fast and sweaty but who can blame them when they only see each other once a month. It works for this story. Plus, I knew the true plot would deal with how the guys would talk Steph into helping them find their mate, how she’d take the news and how they’d eventually find their HEA, because they simply had to end up together. Ms. Tortuga didn’t disappoint. It’s not all mating and fun for Steph and the guys. Someone’s come to town to cause some trouble and does he ever?
Be sure to play close attention to Stephanie’s friend Wendy. I think we’ll be seeing more of her as well as the pack alpha, Brett. At least I hope to read their story! If a short, hot, tension wrapped little novella is what you’re in the mood for and you fancy the paranormal like I do, be sure to pick up a copy of Mating Call....more
Flames of Desire is a fire-fighter debauchery! I had a lot of fun reading this short story by Angelina Rain.
The story begins with Ginelle, a heartbroken woman who has a horrible day followed by a horrible night. After certain events, things turn for the better as she’s reunited with her old high school boyfriend, Seth, and his fire fighter friends. Flames ensue. The overall plot of the story (unknown hot men wanting to have sex with Ginelle) was surreal, but the sweet backstory between the protagonists and the fiery sex compensate for the fantasy. Furthermore, this backstory and the feelings that re-emerge are what keep this short novel from leaving the romance genre and entering the sex for the sake of sex category.
To my dismay, this story had several editing mistakes that distracted me from further enjoying it. For instance, there were a few swapped tenses and words out of place: “Ginelle traced her fingered” instead of “fingers”; “collage” when it meant “college”, “over” when it meant “oven”, etc.
It was nettlesome, just like the very last line of the novel, which reminded me of a line pulled from a porn film. The choice of words was unfortunate because, as I mentioned before, the author had successfully managed to tread the delicate line between porn and romance.
Truly, Flames of Desire is more than just intense sex between five gorgeous men and a woman. It has humor, an easy flowing plot and there is emotion and sentiment in every touch and caress that the characters give and take (for instance the male/male scene or simply the way Seth and Ginelle interact).
Flames of Desire is a fun, extremely hot story, best read in privacy, especially because if you’re anything like me, you’ll have a hard time forgetting the idea of five men in bed.
If you were going to go to an island vacation hotspot in the form of a spicy novel, then this book would be your destination.
Trust Me centers around three men who run an island resort. Two of them are the central characters in this hot read. At a wedding for Kira and Gabe, Alec meets the sexy Brooke, who just happens to be Gabe’s editor. The two light up enough sparks between them for a Fourth of July picnic. When the two head off for a quickie, neither one will ever be the same again.
The other main character in this tale is Will. He meets Angel on a phone sex line and is hooked by her stammering and nervous voice. The two hit it off and soon are doing much more than talking. These two give a new meaning to the term phone sex. Both give as good as they get and the exchange of lust is equal on both ends.
The two stories intertwine and I was turning the pages of my e-reader faster than ever to find out what happens. After Brooke goes back to the mainland, she remembers the hot night she had with Alec and goes to a sex club with a guy she is dating. This has some terrible consequences and when she sees Alec again, they raise their ugly head.
Will and Angel have a unique phone relationship that blossoms into real love across the wires. When Angel has to make a choice with her work that could compromise her safety, Will gets involved. Her knight in shining armor, he saves the woman he loves from a situation that could have really hurt her and takes her off to his island paradise.
Trust Me has a unique blend of lust and characters that you can fall in love with. Each one is crafted carefully and you can really feel the emotions and sexiness ooze off the page. Hot read!
Love on the beach without sand in my shorts. That is the perfect vacation. This read was lusty and full of good times. There was a description of rape that could be a trigger for some. Other than that, the wild parties and hot group sex was right up there and smokin hot the whole way through. BJ Ware knows how to turn up the heat and light my fire every time.
Firehouse Five Chief Pearce Johnson and long-time friend and co-worker Special OPS, Mitch share a private and mutual desire for each other that goes back a long time. When they finally act on it while in the sauna after work, it becomes a dilemma in both their professional and personal lives.
While Pearce’s wife, Ellie is more than willing to allow the sweet, eager fireman into their lives and their bed, Pearce has a problem with jeopardizing his career for an affair that goes against Firehouse Rules. Mitch, Pearce and Ellie can’t get enough of each other on their personal time, but Pearce becomes increasingly cool and distant to Mitch while at work. The situation leads to a personal crisis for the three, who have quickly grown to love one another beyond their expectations.
How does the trio resolve this sensitive problem without giving up their careers and friendships? The solution becomes evident when danger intervenes and the level of their feelings and commitments are quickly defined. This story demonstrates the value of love and the choices we make when we honor that value.
This is also a vigorously hot and sexy read. Ms. Petrova does an excellent job of making the words sizzle right off the page. My only question with this story is whether there is a bit too much of that kind of action for the kind of relationship story this is. I felt there might be a bit of an imbalance in that way because this is very much a love story with an important message that earns center stage.
Given that, still I enjoyed every page. I’m delighted as always with Em Petrova’s story telling talents, and recommend Controlled Burn as a compelling romance that burns as hot as the title suggests.
With the threat of a secluded life surrounded by others of her kind hanging over her head, Honoria must find a way to fulfill her greatest desires before her father’s dying request is fulfilled. With only five days to find her dreams of passion and romance, Honoria enlists the help of her tutor, Jude, to help her win the object of her desire – Esau. But will her crazy adventure end when her ship sails? Or will the strong-willed Honoria defeat her disability and continue on her own way?
Honoria is an oddity in her time. Deaf from infancy, she’s considered deaf, dumb, and unimportant. However, like so many other misunderstood and underestimated women of her time, she sees and knows more than anyone expects. Her character is inspiring in the way that she refuses to let her deafness – or her femaleness – be a barrier to getting what she wants. The only issue I did have with her is that she had a tendency to be a bit of a spoiled brat when she didn’t get her way, but not overwhelmingly so.
Esau is Honoria’s opposite in every way. She’s cultured, educated, and refined and he’s… not. A coarse, rough dockworker, he’s astounded and a bit offended by Honoria’s proposition. But, like a true man of his station, one that knows he had better take the opportunities when they present themselves, he quickly gets past his uneasiness and agrees to help the lady out. I really enjoyed Esau’s character. The author really infused him with life and character. It’d be easy to just write him in as an uneducated laborer, but he’s so much more.
As Honoria’s teacher, translator, and friend, Jude is the real wildcard in the story. While Honoria sees him as her right hand man, he looks at her much differently. He impressed me with the way he swallowed his pride, for the most part, and helped her achieve her goals before being shipped off to a life of boredom. His love for her is strong enough that he both cautions her and helps her, even when he knows she’s being stubborn. He’s the steady and reliable one, but he has a hidden rebel within him as well.
Silent Surrender is an erotic novel of self-discovery. Honoria surprised me at every turn. Her dedication to getting to experience life despite what all the men in the world thought was inspirational considering the time period she lived in. She, combined with her two protectors, Esau and Jude, are a wild combination of sexy, fun, and so not meant to be, but somehow they work. Perfectly. Sexy, engaging, and so different from anything I’ve ever read, I had a hard time putting it down.
I’m the first to admit that I absolutely love the Harmless Series by Melissa Schroeder, and the newest addition, A Little Harmless Fantasy, does not disappoint. From the first word I was drawn in, there was just something about Rory, Zeke and Maura that just worked. I love bisexual men, much like Maura does, and these two Irishmen are drool worthy.
This is a MMF ménage, which means the men play with one another alone and with Maura and every scene was explosively hot. The three of them are believable as a trio, Zeke loves them both and Rory and Maura love Zeke and watching Rory and Maura fall in love was very enjoyable. Most of Ms. Schroeder’s Harmless books catch up with past characters and this one is no different. The relationship between Maura and her brother is portrayed in such a way that I wanted a protective older brother who loves me that much. No Harmless book is complete without a trip to the Hawaiian BDSM club known as Rough N Ready, and while there was no play at the club, it was great to catch up on old characters. The BDSM aspects of this book just add to the spicy sex scenes.
There were times when I wanted to smack the characters and yell at them to talk to each other, but I see that as a plus to the story, since I cared enough to want to help them. The characters are strong, the story is well fleshed out and the descriptions make me want to book a trip to Hawaii immediately to visit all the places that are described.
This is the eighth installment of the Harmlessseries, the first ménage in the series, and while I did enjoy catching up on the other characters, I would say that this book could be read as a stand alone. I do thoroughly recommend this whole series. Bisexual men and BDSM made this book a must read, so don’t hesitate to try this book....more
When a dream job becomes so much more, how can a girl refuse?
Alicia is working with top band Serraton and loving every minute of it. The guys are flirty and great to hang out with. But when she finds out Emerson isn’t gay a whole new set of feelings burst forth. Now their friendship can move further than she ever dared hope. Add in the fact that sexy Vince is behaving oddly, in good and bad ways, and life is just about to get complicated and oh, so sexy.
With the Boys in the Band is a nicely written ménage paranormal tale. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The fact the boys were in a band was a bit of a secondary feature to the story and a bit more could have been made of it if the author wanted to elaborate on the super-star status. The leading lady Alicia was a great character and I warmed to her. She was a good listener and gave sensible advice to Emerson and Vince when they had to face up to the attraction they’d felt for one another for years but been denying.
I was a little surprised by the twist in the tale concerning Alicia but it did draw her and Vince together nicely, in fact so nicely again I would have liked a little more of that side of the story too.
Emerson was sensitive and sweet, Vince was a bit more rough around the edges, a bit moodier, and I liked that. The other members of the band were secondary characters but worked well in the plot line.
The sex was hot, whether it was m/f or m/f/m. The author writes it well, though there was one occasion I had to back up a page and check the choreography. Double penetration was happening but her butt hadn’t been mentioned. Once I figured it out though, I was good to go. Again the story could have expanded on the two guys hooking up for the first time. There is some m/m action but it’s not their first time. That is alluded to in a couple of sentence, and I’m greedy, I wanted to be a fly on the wall, seeing that, being there! But I guess that just shows that With the Boys in the Band is a good story with characters that sucked me and I wanted more, more, more.
If you enjoy ménage, sexy shifters and rock and roll this could well be right up your street – enjoy....more
Clancy is a hardworking cowboy who likes to play as hard as he works. Tess isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty either, whether it be out in the barn or in the bedroom. Their antics let me know that this couple would have their ups and downs but they would always work it out in the kinkiest of ways.
Clancy is a character I can see a bit of in most men. He fails to recognize the man he is and instead focuses on the man he doesn’t want to be. That is why it was easy for me to recognize immediately how much he truly needed Tess to show him the man all of her friends have come to love. He seems so put together to the outside world, but he really hid a broken man inside which made him seem real to me, and which made me like him even more.
Tess too has suffered tragedy in her life that has helped mold who she is. While Clancy has chosen to distance himself, she instead had to buckle down and take charge for her younger siblings. This made her a instant success in my mind because any woman who will put her life on hold to care for others deserves to find happiness. I could also relate to her because she fails to see that she too deserves happiness. I would have liked to see her getting taken care of as much as see seems to do for others. Maybe in another story I will get to see how see can let her hair down a bit and depend on others a little.
The erotic play within this story is spectacular. There is truly something for everyone. I also really enjoyed that while Tess and Clancy may have invited someone else into their bedroom, they did not let that person into their hearts or emotional relationship. It made me understand and appreciate what they had even more. They also seemed to be happy giving what the other person wants in the bedroom as well as outside, even if it is a little light bondage or control.
The author’s ability to write both believable characters and a story line made this story a stand out for me. I would not be surprised to find out that these characters and their story is not based on someone the author may know or from true life experience. Sometimes truth is better than fiction, and this story just seemed to have a ring of truth to it for me, which indeed made it better than many off the wall fictional stories I have read.
There’s a lot to be said for an erotic romance when they are not bound by the rules of normal human society. Throw in the paranormal aspect and relationships form faster, prudish hesitation and coyness is not a game that gets played and an easy acceptance of their natures means that readers get to the good stuff faster. It’s a win-win situation because if you’re short on time and just need that hit of fun and frolic to get you through the day, these types of stories fit in perfectly.
Bear Facts has the additional bonus of a cute and sassy heroine who is simply fun. Jeanette’s sense of the silly and irreverence is what endeared her to both me and the heroes. What is interesting is that she is the way she is in the first place. There’s a lot that has gone on that could have shifted her personality to wary, bitter, aggressive or sour but she’s not any of those things. I liked getting to know her as much as the author let me. It’s like Ms. Talbot condensed the good aspects of the heroine.
The dynamic of a wolf, a kitty and a bear playing house is quite entertaining but the room that gets the most use is the bedroom. It’s there that a reader will see the three bond and get to know the other parts of each their personalities that will either make or break their budding romance. Naturally there is a lot of experimentation and testing of who likes what and who likes to do what to whom, but that’s half the fun of the story. It’s how the relationship grew.
Neale was adorable and perky, and Zane was big, gruff and adorable in his own way. The author used her words to depict what Neale’s role was in the relationship as opposed to Zane. It was helpful because this is the second book in the series and I’d not read the first one. Turns out I didn’t need to. Ms. Talbot provided just enough information to make me understand how Zane and Neale originally got together and pique my interest to read their story without bogging down this one with details or losing me because I didn’t have enough. That’s a hard balance to make in a short story amongst a series, yet she accomplished it.
My only let down was the conflict. It really wasn’t about the relationship per se. Oh, there was a tiny bit of internal angst but it paled in the face of the meaty one that the author teased me with. It had the capacity to be juicier, and to have a more powerful impact on cementing Jeanette’s decisions about her choices regarding Neale and Zane. It fell a bit flat. I wanted that high drama, if only for a few paragraphs, to really sink my teeth into and see how it affected the main protagonists on a higher level than what was delivered. It was too weak for me and I was disappointed. I prefer the heroes and heroine to work a bit harder for their happy ever after. It makes their commitment more real for me.
On the whole, Mixed Breeds: Bear Facts is simply entertaining. It provides a lot of smiles, certainly a few hot flashes and is a pleasant way to spend some time. If you like sexy hijinks with some growls, purrs and fantastic mixed coupling, this might be the book to try....more
How does a couple known by everyone as whores become free from the squalid circumstances they are imprisoned by and escape the cruel, greedy saloon proprietor who controls every aspect of their lives?
Isaac and Sophia together will sleep with anyone for a price. But the honorable cowboy, Nolan Hollis, one of the well-known Hollis horse ranchers, finds himself head over heels in love with the fascinating and beautiful pair nearly on sight. The three are lovers in every sense, but as Nolan realizes he can’t continue to pay for his passion and devotion for Sophie and Isaac forever, the situation becomes hopeless. A hopeless situation soon becomes a dangerous one, and the Hollis family once again comes to the aid of their own.
I am again delighted and impressed with the capable talent of Ms. Em Petrova. She has taken what might seem an unlikely or unbelievable story and made it dance with color and realism. I was so taken in and emotionally invested in the characters and the plot that time had no meaning. The tale evolves naturally and smoothly and delivers such sweet passion and heat between the three that it makes a sumptuous reading experience throughout. This story is ‘ten flames hot’!
I heartily recommend Wild, Wild Hearts to all adventurous thrill and romance seekers, who will certainly not be disappointed....more
What do you do if you fall in love with your two best friends and can’t choose between them? Set up a ménage, of course!
Andie has become desperate. She’s been in love with Rex and Paul for years but hasn’t had the courage to tell them. Now she’s ready to finally lose her virginity and can think of no better way than with the men she adores. Terrified of how they’d react, she contacts Madame Eve and asks her to set up her dream date. It’s just what she needs, and worth the cost-every last penny to her name!
Rex and Paul have a secret of their own. They’ve been involved in a sexual relationship behind Andie’s back. Despite being very close friends, they’ve been afraid to confess for fear of her reaction. After winning a 1Night Stand date with an unknown woman, they fly off to Alaska, but can’t escape the guilt they feel. They’d prefer the woman to be Andie, but can’t take the chance of ruining the friendship.
This was a nice tale of friendship turned love. The motivations of each are well-defined and the love they felt was unquestionable. The details, however, are lacking, which left me wanting a little more. This was Andie’s first time, yet neither man knew that until later. The men had a loving relationship, but we didn’t get to see much of that. The choreography, at times, became confusing. I’d be picturing the woman laying down, but then something was said about someone behind her-and then I’d think perhaps I was wrong and she was sitting up. It took me out of the scene, unfortunately, causing me to go back and re-read.
That said, it was enjoyable to watch these three connect. To know all of them wanted the same thing the others did made for an easy happily ever after. I’ll look into other works of Ms. Richards in the future. With a 1Night Stand, you can rarely go wrong!
Rachel “Lady Raven” Morris is a Domme and a switch, who has her sub, but still needs a Dom in her life. Lucky for her, her sub, Will Sullivan has plans for her, and his best friend Ben “Sledge” Welsh is just the Dom she needs. Rachel and Ben had a moment a few years ago, but life got in the way and they’ve both wanted each other from afar.
I will admit I don’t read many stories with a female Dominant, but I will say that Ms. Willows pulls off Raven’s and Will’s relationship beautifully. She tells the story in a way that doesn’t portray Will as weak for being Rachel’s submissive, and the respect that Rachel has for Will is extraordinarily well done. The idea of Rachel fighting her instincts to submit to Ben are very believable, after all she is a Domme with her own strong reputation. This story doesn’t just jump into a threesome without there being doubts on everyone’s parts and they didn’t just meet. They’ve known and respected each other for years, with Will and Ben being best friends, and Will and Rachel having a long term and loving relationship. It’s easy to see them working to make this relationship work since it fulfills everyone’s needs. This is a ménage that is about Ben and Rachel and Rachel and Will and while Ben and Will love each other as best friends they don’t need each other in a sexual manner and that is made very clear.
Overall, I would gladly give Ms. Willows other BDSM books a try and would recommend her to others. I felt she had a real understanding on how relationships are formed and definitely knows how to write a sexy story. There is no shortage of hot and satisfying scenes in this book, with enough sentiment that you aren’t left thinking they are only with each other for sex. This book seems to be third in a series, but I had no problem following and reading this story as a stand alone.
I recommend this story for anyone looking for some smoking hot chemistry between Alpha personalities, and those who don’t mind a woman who knows how to take charge.
Just when Gabriel and Ethan thought their chances of finding the mate they wanted were impossible, they discovered Mari, the only woman who can truly complete their triad. The only problem is that Mari’s spit fire personality, and the fact that she may be viewed as an outsider, definitely stacked the cards against their relationship and happiness.
All three characters in this story are so headstrong and have their own ideas of what they want, that they can sometimes forget about each other’s needs. This character flaw really makes the storyline intriguing. While at times it may seem selfish, it is easy to see that Ethan, Gabriel, and Mari have the best intentions, they just don’t always know how to show it.
While I absolutely adore Ethan and Gabriel as a package at times I found it difficult to differentiate from the two. While they have different looks, their personalities just seem a little too similar, which sometimes left me confused. After a while I was able to pick up on differences that helped me figure them out and follow the story thread better, especially once they began to discover their feelings and when the other Colony members got involved.
The conflict with the colony really helped to heighten the tension. The fact that some supported the relationship while others did not reminded me of some of my own personal situations. Especially because there was unseen opposition as well as allies around various corners. It added a certain danger or anticipation to the story that helped to increase my emotional connection. There are some extremely prejudiced views toward Mari. Since she is considered an outsider by many so, if a reader is offended by prejudice and hate towards people for no other reason by who they were born as they may find certain aspects of this story offensive.
In the end I think that the story really had some remarkable ups and downs which created a propelling plot line. This is a story I could see having a sequel, especially featuring some of the secondary characters and I would happily read it....more
What do you get when you have a Gothic style mystery and a sexy mix of characters that would rival Peyton Place? Pendelton Manor.
When Sophie takes a housekeeping job at Pendelton Manor to escape the grief of losing her only child, she has no way of knowing that she is walking into an orgy. The inhabitants of Pendelton Manor are completely open about their sexual habits, and when Sophie walks in on it, she is dumbfounded, but also aroused. A mix of old style Gothic mystery and a full on sexscapade, this book was a scorching hot read.
At first, my initial response to the story was that it reminded me of the old Victoria Holt mysteries with a brooding murderer lurking about. Add in sex at every single turn and you have something that would make even the most adventurous person blush. Adrian and the rest of the family are openly sexual in front of everyone in the house, hence the turnover in housekeepers. It is a bit shocking to find yourself in the midst of an orgy when you are trying to clean.
While I enjoyed the plot, dialogue and Sophie’s sexual awakening, I did feel that the sex was over the top. The author did a great job with each scene, but there were so many, I felt my eyes glazing over on a couple of occasions where I wanted to find out about the murderer or what happened to the cat. Also, the personal dynamics between Adrian, the oldest brother and owner of the manse and Sophie was the main focus, but I wanted more from their interactions. There was a repeated reference about the grief of both Adrian and Sophie that felt a little like an echo.
Overall, the story was great and the sex was smoking hot. Menage action at every turn with some one on one with Adrian and Sophie that scorched my e-reader made this a great read, but again, I would have liked a few more mystery elements.
If you have a fondness for Gothic style mysteries with a flair for wild sex parties than dip your toes in this one.
Starting over can sometimes be scary, but not when you have three gorgeous new neighbors at your beck and call!
Farrell has moved into a small town. Across the road live the ‘three little pigs’ or rather three incredibly handsome men! Each man is keen to get to know Farrell in his own unique way, and Farrell, well who can blame her, she laps it up, and why wouldn’t she? She’s not looking for anything serious, just a bit of fun.
Boys Next Door is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say I was incredibly impressed. The writing is seamless, the plot keeps the pages turning and the characters are not only believable they are also incredibly likeable despite their flaws. There was plenty of sexy action, and I adored the way each man was different in the sack! Stephen, just heart-achingly adorable, Cooper, the rough, tough bad boy, and Deke, well what’s not to love about him?
All in all I found this a very satisfying read, a great length and with an ending that left me panting! Yes, I kid you not! If you want to treat yourself to some quality fiction of the steamy variety, I urge you to check out Boys Next Door, you won’t be disappointed....more
Amelia Wesson has always dreamed of traveling, but on the income she makes as a teacher on Farpoint Cattle Station, she is not making any big plans. When her counterpart in America, teacher Harper Shaw, suggests that she and Amy switch houses for two weeks, Amy jumps at the chance to visit Chicago and spend two weeks away from familiar spaces. Amy and Harper have spent hours online, Skyping and discussing everything, including their deepest secret desires. When Harper says she set up a surprise for Amy, she wonders what her American friend has in mind. When Harper’s brother, Andrew, has to cut short his latest travel show due to extreme weather, he heads home for some relaxation. When his buddy tries to set him up with a blind date, Andrew doesn’t really say no. When Amy wakes up in the middle of the night, tied to the bed, with a handsome and sexy man doing delicious things to her, she thinks this is the surprise from Harper, because one night, in a tipsy conversation, Amy confessed that her secret desire was to be tied down and dominated by a stranger. Andrew thinks this is the Amy that his buddy wanted to set him up with. When they realize the truth, they also realize they really enjoy each other’s company, and decide to spend time together, with Andrew showing Amy the sights of Chicago. Andrew isn’t looking for forever, and Amy knows he will be gone in a week, and she will be returning to Australia soon, as well. Neither expected their hearts to become involved.
Can Amy have a fling with Andrew, and go back to Australia with just her memories to warm her heart? Will Andrew move on to the next place, the next woman and forget her? Or will these two find a way to fight the distance and make a life together?
Misplaced Lessons is the third in Mari Carr and Lexxie Couper’s hot Foreign Affairs series, and for once we have a female Aussie doing the adventuring, going to America to chase a dream. I really enjoy the collaboration between these two authors, both of who write scorching hot romance on their own. With this series, they boost it up a few levels, bringing laughter and tears in equal measure. The world they have built is a delight, and the characters are charismatic and so much fun to meet.
Amy Wesson is a delight; organized, smart and a bit sassy, willing to go with the flow when things don’t go as planned. I liked that she was open to new experiences, and that she was a bit unpredictable at times, like when she tries to convince Andrew that she is a submissive, when she is definitely far too independent to fall in that category. I liked Amy for her honest approach to life and love, and her ability to accept those things she felt she couldn’t change.
Andrew Shaw is a celebrity, handsome, dominant and overly protective of those he loves. When he realizes his sister has ‘disappeared’ he is determined to find out where she is, and frustrated when Amy will only give him generalities as to Harper’s location. I loved that Andrew could discover things about himself as he spent time with Amy, and was sensitive to her desires to see everything she could in her limited amount of time in Chicago. I enjoyed watching as he got blindsided by the lovely Aussie lady, and discovered what love could be.
There is a side story with Harper and Amy’s two friends back at Farpoint, but nothing is really spelled out here. Of course, since Ms. Couper and Ms. Carr are both masters of erotic romance and Ms. Carr does marvelous romantic comedy as well, this is a real hot treat for a winter’s night. I hope that, at some point, we will see Harper’s story, but until then, I highly recommend the three Foreign Affairs books already out, especially Misplaced Lessons, my favorite so far. But beware, these folks will snare your heart, make you laugh and make you cry before they find the perfect solution to their unique dilemma.
What do you get when you combine kinky leather and fairy tales? An anthology that covers every aspect of BDSM–a flogging to some kinky Daddy tales.
This collection has eighteen stories. With some of the biggest names in the industry, I was notably excited to review this collection of kink. Leather stories always fascinate, but when you twist them up in not so neat little packages of fairy tales and floggers, then you are going to get all kinds of tales, from the scary to the sublime. Laura Antoniou provides the forward and I always enjoy her words. Author of the Marketplace series, a leather and slave masterpiece, it was great to see her name on the author roster.
Each Step For Him by Lee Harrington Lee Harrington can turn a phrase and can suck you into a story without trying. His imagery and the blending of the leather community with a tale of The Little Mermaid was truly inspirational. This m/m short was infused with images of leather, the sea and finding a Prince to love. It was sexy and well done and I am eager to read more from this author.
Blue Beard’s Ghost by Ariel Dalziel The story of Bluebeard is one I remember hearing as I was growing up. A murderous pirate, Bluebeard claimed the lives of his wives and kept gruesome trophies in a room upstairs. In this rendition, the bride claims a place of her own. An awakening into the art of D/s and a delicious twist at the end made this story a joy to read.
Blood in the House of Sweets by Miss Lola Sunshine This original twist on the Hansel and Gretel tale had me at the word go. Needle play, age play, ménage…a very creative scene that will delight readers with its adult themes and edge play.
The Suitor by Miel Rose This story reminded me a lot of Brave with a princess that rebelled against her mother’s matchmaking schemes. A rousing bit of sword play and a surprise suitor bring some f/f action to this kinky fairy tale rewrite.
Hair Like Gold by Nalu Kalani Rapunzel never had as much fun as the girl suspended by her hair in this short. An elaborate bondage by hair scene, the prince in this story has to bring a captive girl to orgasm in order to free her from her bonds. A fun retelling.
The Mistress and the Pea by Cynthia Hamilton A search for a Domme leads a prince on a wild hunt for the perfect mate. This story was very like Cinderella trying on magic shoes, except in this case, it was a prince trying out princesses one at a time to find the right fit.
The Red Shoes by Hosha Red shoes rock. It is a known fact and one that this story really captures well. The girl in this story lusts for the shoes in the window and after an interesting visitor to the shoe shop where she works, all kinds of doors open up for her. A winding plot and good erotic content, I enjoyed this story.
The Seven Swan Princes by D L King This story was an excellent rendition of the fairytale on which it was based. An overbearing oaf demanding the hand of Eve, she refuses and fights against his unwelcome advances. Weaving robes to free her brothers from a curse, the maiden crafts some lovely garments. Add in some lovely sex magic, a wizard with a talented flogger and some hot bondage and you have a great short story for this collection.
The Good Witch by Ali Oh The wicked witch is one of the most misunderstood characters in fairytales. In this rendition of Baba Yaga, the Good Witch and The Wicked Witch have a series of meetings that taunt and tantalize, all the while exploring bondage and some fun D/s. There might be a little more to the Good Witch than everyone thinks.
Snow Fight by Rob Rosen When the prince finds Snow White in her glass coffin, he encounters some resistance before he is able to get her freed from the spell of death. The huntsman fights him and ties him up to have his wicked way with him. Lots of nipple twisting and some steamy m/m action commence.
Down Under by Raven Kaldera A man made of bread and a girl have some interesting trysts in the woods. Add a witch, a whole lot of bondage and a splendid gift and you have a story that never gets old. Being beautiful on the inside is always better than being a shallow beauty on the outside any day.
Golden Twink and the Three Bears by Elizabeth “Jake” Hart A smoking hot tale of The Three Bears, this one isn’t for the faint of heart. When Twink finds his way into the Bear’s cottage, he happens upon their bondage toy collection and some red hot branding equipment. When the family comes home to find him nestled in Baby Bear’s bed, we can only imagine what comes next.
Iron Henry by Karen Taylor I want to go to a tea party like this one. The main character is loosely based on the Frog Prince, or Iron Henry. Going to a tea party, this submissive male is there to serve and as he makes his way artfully among the Dommes, one woman in particular catches his eye. She is also watching him. In a delicious development, the two meet and the erotic submission of Henry to his new mistress will take you to realms of cock rings and some creative restraints.
The Wolf and Little Red by Alysia Angel Little Red Riding Hood can be a very erotic tale. This one used Daddy play and I had a little trouble getting into the story. While the imagery was very well written, the Daddy play used a lot of descriptive elements that bordered on an underage person in a sexual encounter with an older, possible father figure. It most likely was not written to be read that way, but it really hit a trigger for me. The image of a little girl with little hands touching the wolf and more was disturbing to me. If you have triggers with age play then do not read this story.
Not Enough Storms by Goldie Dartmouth This fairy story did a lot of showing and not telling and I found myself drifting after the first page. There is an elaborate world building scenario that was very difficult for a reader to latch onto and identify with. Adding some character interaction would have been beneficial to the story.
Cinderfella by Sossity Chiricuzio Cinderella has some f/f tendencies in this provocative tale. When a cousin to one of the maids shows up to teach El about her secret fantasies, things heat up.
Lady Leoprine by Mollena Williams A bondage club scene with a Mistress that is all powerful has a submissive male slave aching to serve. When a disruptive influence causes a nuisance at the club, Lady Leoprine takes matters into her own hands. Starting out as a normal leather club scene, this tale quickly shifts with paranormal elements.
The Little Boot Black by Sassafras Lowrey This Daddy play story was compelling and very well done. The little bootblack is missing his Daddy, a female who takes care of him. Even though this story dealt with age play and the term “little boy” it did not bring to mind images of abuse, but instead of coming home to a lover who takes control and gives the devotion that the bootblack yearns for. It is a beautiful story.
This collection overall was very well done. The BDSM elements roamed far and wide, bringing imagery of needle play, age play, impact play and more. If you enjoy a romp on the leather side, than this fairy tale redo is just the thing....more
Kidnapped, caged and beaten…but not broken, not quite. This has been Natalie Buchanan’s reality for more months than she can count. Having been raised around the BDSM lifestyle her whole life lead her to search out her own Dom when she was ready. What she found instead was something so dark and sinister it almost took away her desire to live. If it hadn’t been for a certain Kitten and later the help of one very powerful Club owner, she might never have gained a second lease on life much less find the men who would bring her full circle and surround her with more love than she could fathom.
It would be a hard won HEA but, oh my goodness, I cried, laughed, cheered and rejoiced with every step towards the end of this fantastic story. Actually, I should change that to “the beginning” of an amazing love story. Everything Chase, Ben and Natalie go through from the first time they meet is leading up to when all three are able to firmly shove the past into its proper place and replace the nightmares with the possibilities and hope of a future together.
Do you get all gooey over the sexy brooding over-protective type of guy? I know I do. Let me introduce you to Chase Dawson. If you’ve ready most any of the last four or so Siren series books you’ve already met this hottie who has no mouth filter. He doesn’t think about what he’s going to say, he just says it and rarely, if ever, cares about who may be listening. He loves his twin brother, his computer, solving homicides and women. Those last two run a close race to tie for third place and sometimes his computer beats out his brother. Like any proper brooder, Chase has self-esteem issues. He and his brother put me in mind of a certain set of symbiotic Fae kings. Anyway, Chase’s issues don’t keep him from meeting and bedding plenty of lovely ladies but they keep him from making a real connection. That’s where having an identical wingman to tag team with comes in handy.
Speaking of the very sweet and sexy twin brother, Ben would be a candidate for sainthood if it wasn’t for the fact that he really enjoys spanking women. Ben Dawson is the epitome of longsuffering. You’ve met Chase already. Wait until you meet his sister, Georgia, you’ll understand. His gentle caring side made me sigh but it was his uber alpha maleness that left me panting. Ben is the charmer of the two. Given a few minutes, he could charm rain from a clear sky. Yeah, he’s that good.
Together Ben and Chase push Natalie to become the woman she was meant to be before she fell into Hawk’s cage. The imagery Ms. Oak paints into the story gave such a clear and concise depiction of how much both Natalie and Kitten suffered at the hands of this mad man.
When this epic adventure starts Natalie has already began taking baby steps to regain a piece of herself. Her brightly colored hair and strategic piercings may seem silly or frivolous to some but it’s clear they are wins for her because she made the decisions to alter herself in ways that made her visible. Hawk went out of his way to make the women he kidnapped believe that they were less than human and didn’t deserve to be noticed. I don’t know if Natalie made the connection of “Cotton Candy” pink hair with a cry to be seen as a viable human on purpose or if it was more of a subconscious move but it certainly caught the attention of two honest to goodness heroes.
I’ve come to the conclusion that author Sophie Oak must have been a Domme in another life. Few authors enjoy torturing their characters as much as she does. What’s more, she’s turned her fan girls into bratty begging subs who hang on every word of her books as she puts her heroes and heroines through the wringer. We can’t get enough of the stories that come from her world building no matter if they’re set in Bliss, CO, Dallas, TX or on a completely different paranormal plane of existence. I told someone recently it’s very much like a giant puzzle and every story she writes adds a few more pieces. It’s pretty incredible how she manages to shift and move from one series to another and yet it seems like one seamless story when they’re read in order, including the paranormal.
Something else Ms. Oak did, that is a total win in my book, is how she has taken two characters that could have very easily been relegated forever to secondary character status without ever realizing their story potential and built them up to be two of the most anticipated books of the series. Logan was a laid back naive young sheriff’s deputy when we first met him in Three To Ride. Kitten made her first appearance and a very real impression on readers in Siren in Bloom. Readers were there to witness Logan’s loss of innocence to some Russian mafia men but we only got small glimpses of Kitten’s back story. Hold on to your hats because you learn A LOT about who Kitten was and how she came to be in Siren Unleashed. We also meet Logan’s future heroine. He’s gonna need some help for sure. This isn’t their stories but, man, Ms. Oaks sets then up to be one more wild ride. I can’t wait.
Siren Unleashed is a stand-alone story but there are so many reoccurring characters from the other books, I would strongly recommend reading them in order. Don’t let the terrific number of books in the two main and one side series keep you from reading this one. It has easily become my favorite story so far and I’m so excited to see what she gives us next. I feel like Oliver Twist, “please, ma’am, may we have some more?”. Pick up this latest Siren adventure or start at the beginning with Small Town Siren and work your way through Texas, Colorado and beyond but just don’t miss the ride.
Just Vamps is a delightful anthology, worth reading at any time during the year if vampires are your thing. It is an enjoyable 13-author piece of work with stories for all sort of romance readers, from those than enjoy action to those that prefer to laugh to those that like their romance simple and without complications.
Well written and quite hot, Just Vamps made me laugh, cry out in surprise and squirm in my chair more than once. As occurs with most anthologies, some stories are better than others but overall the book is a good read for any vampire lover.
Chatting with a Vampire by Thayer King: This story was nice and sweet with a rushed end, but it still managed to bring a smile to my face.
Blood for Blood by Robin Badillo: One of my favorites from the lot, this story had an intense romance between its main characters and an action packed backstory to boot. I would have enjoyed reading a stand-alone book with these characters and vampire clans.
Soul Reunion by Naomi Clark: A sizzling example about how love between three people can be real and eternal.
Blood Bond by Annalynne Russo: Although this story was smoldering hot (a ménage between two best friends and a vamp) I found it lacked actual romance and there was little chemistry between the characters.
Haunted by Melissa Hosack: Another one of my favorites! The chemistry between Liam and Kyla was present from the start and I kept cheering for them to find their HEA. Unfortunately, there was one problem in this story and that was the character named Cassidy. Included as a third partner for Liam and Kyla, I didn’t quite feel the love between him and Kyla and found him a nuisance that kept getting in the way of the real romance between the witch and the vampire. I had the impression that the author had only included him to make the story a ménage and thus more interesting. Nonetheless, Haunted was fun and hot and had some great dialogue.
Once Upon a Fantasy by Hennessee Andrews: Who hasn’t dreamt about a fantasy man becoming real? A bold, surprising and sexy story.
Fly by Night by Vanessa Devereaux: This story started out great: intrigue, a sister rivalry, a mysterious man. Unfortunately, little by little it deflated. The dialogue became stilted and the connection between the main characters forced.
Fangs for the Memory by Rebecca Brochu: When it began, I thought it was going to be the traditional girl meets vamp in a bar, but the author pleasantly surprised me with a more traditional, albeit hot story. I must admit, however, that Dashiell did come on a little too strong for my taste.
Eternally Theirs by Lani Rhea: Hot, hot, hot, from the very beginning. Very well described and tantalizing, this ménage story could easily have a book all for itself, if for no other reason just to discover why Melissa had three incredibly sexy vamps all for herself. The plot was well constructed and the sex incredibly hot between the coven of five.
Living the Dream by Doris O’Connor: The title of this story says it all. A male-female- male ménage with hot sex and a lovely back story to boot. A pleasure to read.
The Last Hallow’s Eve by Jean Maxwell: Ms. Maxwell manages to make this story scary at the same time as sexy and heart warming.
13 Raven Road by Misty Burke: This story builds up nicely, explodes with some awesome and fun sex, and ends with a much calmer note making it a nice read.
The Red Dress by Ella Grey: A cute, well-written story with heart-warming characters, end the anthology with an “awww” note....more
Some say three’s a crowd, but luckily for Josh, Evan and Rai seems rather partial to a bit of crowding!
The noises coming from the flat above drive glassblower Josh Carpenter crazy – crazy with lust. Why can’t the two fit guys get the springs in their bed sorted once and for all and stop torturing the hell out of him? Finally he’s asked up for a visit, but that doesn’t help his lusty state, Rai is flirty and cute, Evan the hottest guy he’s ever seen. But what do they want with Josh? Is it just friendship or is it more?
The Hot Floor is one of those really juicy books that is a decent length, has characters who you feel you really get to know, and sex that is more than just the physical act, it has all the emotions and dilemmas that go with it. The author does a great job of making the whole book about Josh and his relationship with Rai and Evan without the need for lots of side stories going on. It keeps the reader focused on the issues, on the problems and the desires, and in doing so is quite voyeuristic and certainly very satisfying.
There were enough secondary characters to keep it real, and enough mentions of the outside world for me to get a sense of place. I really liked the bath scene, though it would have been a terrifying thing to happen in real life.
Rai and Evan were adorable and I could see why they’d turned Josh’s head. Rai was witty and sexy, Evan tough and rough but completely loveable. When they all got together, naked, Ms Myles does a fantastic job, there’s never a dull moment and the scorchingly hot scenes are orchestrated beautifully.
If you like gay erotica with two or more lovers, a good sprinkle of romance and something that just has that ‘real’ feel to it, then The Hot Floor shouldn’t be missed. Great book....more
