King Cobra is the first in Jayne Rylon’s new Hot Rods series. Hot Rods is a offshoot of her successful Powertools series, and with Hot Rods, Ms. Rylon has turned up the heat even more, with lots of super hot men and one woman, each with a special talent to complete the team.
Eli London runs the very unique and successful Hot Rods Restoration Team. The team is Eli’s family, maybe not by blood, but in every other way that counts. They grew up together, taken in by Eli’s father to honor the memory of his mother. Now, they are a respected and talented team of auto restorers, making magic with each car they restore.
But Eli has been distracted, ever since he and his best friend/head mechanic Alanso got back from a visit to see his cousin Joe. What they saw there, with Joe and the whole crew, keeps going through Eli’s head, and he wants what the crew has: a close and loving relationship with the team. Especially Alanso, and yet, he is afraid that acting on his desires could ruin what they have. Alanso wants it all as well, but most of all, he wants Eli, and not as just a friend anymore. When Eli hesitates too long, Alanso takes off, determined to find out what being with a man can be like.
When Eli finally tells the team what has been on his mind, the surprise him with their enthusiastic interest in the idea, but tell Eli he had better bring Alanso back from wherever he’s gone, before things go all wrong. What Eli sees from his vantage point takes him past the point of no return, and he and Alanso finally admit their feelings for each other. After an incinerating bedroom scene between these two, things are looking up, until bad news arrives, in the form of a letter concerning Alanso’s long gone mother. As Eli tries to help Alanso cope, they spend a night drinking, and bring a woman back to the garage to share. Unknown to them, they have an audience of one, Mustang Sally, and she is devastated by their actions. When sobriety returns, they realize that they have, however unintentionally, hurt one of the team, one special woman they both love. Can they build on their relationship, and figure out how to bring Sally back into their lives? Can Alanso finally put the ghost of his mom to rest? And will the Hot Rods be ready and willing to take things to the next level, together?
Seven men, one woman, with high revving libidos all around. The characters are all well defined, charismatic and deeply passionate, at work and outside it. King Cobra sets the stage for what is to come in this series, and what a fantastic start it is. I like this world Ms. Rylon created, a place where people can be what they are meant to be, and relationships are complex and yet never confusing.
Eli London is King Cobra, leader of the team of Hot Rods. Strong, caring and torn in two by his feelings for not just Alanso, but the whole team. He considers all of them family, and he doesn’t know how he could lust after these people he has grown up with. It’s only when the fear that he may have driven Alanso away forever, that he faces his fears, and the team, with what he wants. I love Eli, because he tries so hard to do what is right, he is so loyal and determined to do what is best. It is only when he realizes he has to be true to himself that he is able to reach out to the others and see a chance at having it all.
Alanso Diaz is strong, sexy and frustrated by Eli’s hesitance. He knows what he wants, what he is, and I liked that about him, his innate honesty in the face of Eli’s denial. I worried a bit when he took off, determined to find out what he was missing, but that worked out better than I could have hoped. I cried a bit at the news about his mom, but it did bring some closure for him, showing him the truth. I was happy to see his ability to roll with the punches, and stay strong even when he makes an error in judgment.
There are some really hot bits in this, and the secondary characters are as well crafted and the leads in this one. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the team fit in to the dynamic that started here. I look forward to seeing more of Roman, Sally, Kaige, Carver Holden and Bryce, and how each one becomes a part of the whole. The emotion in this one touched me, I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with Eli and Alanso. I look forward to falling under the spell of each and every member of the team, and I hope my fan will last through the series. This is for all those romance fans that believe love is love, and where there is love, life is just fine....more
Two men, in love and lust, looking for a third to share their bed and their lives.
Jack Samson, a vet in Sumerset, finds himself the center of attention between Brady and Simon, an established couple who put pleasure top of their list of priorities. Things heat up between them, but is it just fun or is there more to be had from their connection?
This book jumps straight into some steamy M/M/M action in a dark corner of a club. It went for the jugular so to speak and set the tone for the rest of the story, in other words, sexy, seriously steamy and well written.
I adored all three characters, they each had flaws, they each had things about them that appealed to me. The author really got their individuality across well. The sex was smokin’ throughout, like seriously e-reader burning if M/M/M is your thing!
There were the usual ups and downs in the plot but it was more relationship focused than anything else, apart from a bit at the end with a sick horse, and I liked that. The author got it just right for me, so much so that it felt real, like these guys really could live this way, happily and together for all of time.
If you enjoy reading about handsome, sexy men getting off together then this is a good book to try. Solid characters, sex that makes sense on every level for them and a nice long read you can get your teeth into. I would certainly read more by TA Chase....more
Some say three’s a crowd, but luckily for Josh, Evan and Rai seems rather partial to a bit of crowding!
The noises coming from the flat above drive glassblower Josh Carpenter crazy – crazy with lust. Why can’t the two fit guys get the springs in their bed sorted once and for all and stop torturing the hell out of him? Finally he’s asked up for a visit, but that doesn’t help his lusty state, Rai is flirty and cute, Evan the hottest guy he’s ever seen. But what do they want with Josh? Is it just friendship or is it more?
The Hot Floor is one of those really juicy books that is a decent length, has characters who you feel you really get to know, and sex that is more than just the physical act, it has all the emotions and dilemmas that go with it. The author does a great job of making the whole book about Josh and his relationship with Rai and Evan without the need for lots of side stories going on. It keeps the reader focused on the issues, on the problems and the desires, and in doing so is quite voyeuristic and certainly very satisfying.
There were enough secondary characters to keep it real, and enough mentions of the outside world for me to get a sense of place. I really liked the bath scene, though it would have been a terrifying thing to happen in real life.
Rai and Evan were adorable and I could see why they’d turned Josh’s head. Rai was witty and sexy, Evan tough and rough but completely loveable. When they all got together, naked, Ms Myles does a fantastic job, there’s never a dull moment and the scorchingly hot scenes are orchestrated beautifully.
If you like gay erotica with two or more lovers, a good sprinkle of romance and something that just has that ‘real’ feel to it, then The Hot Floor shouldn’t be missed. Great book....more
I had waited quite a while before I picked up my first book by Blake Deveraux. I've since remedied that fact. This is the second book in his Men of Honor series. I got to visit with Daniel and Brandon all over again, plus meet a few new characters along the way. There's angst in this book, but it's well founded. Mr. Deveraux has characters who have been through the wringer and desperately need what we all need...love. I enjoyed how Mr. Deveraux snared me right into the story from the first page. I even tried to put the book down once or twice - the family does need to eat - and as soon as I could, I ran back. I had to know what would happen next.
There are parts where the story gets a bit telly versus showing and a couple of times when I wasn't sure who was talking. But all in all, it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.
There are wonderful surprises in this book. I got see more of Daniel and Brandon's past and seeing the issues made a lot more sense. Although some of the issues between them are more fleshed out, I can say that the sex is still smoking hot. The emotions run high. Mr. Deveraux writes scenes to scorch the pages, but in this book there aren't as hardcore of scenes. This is a good thing in that there aren't as many surprises for the casual reader. But, that also means that there is more tenderness in the love scenes. Either way, it's a great read.
I enjoyed the views of the secondary characters as well. Joe and Charles will have a great story to tell and since they are next, I can't wait. I liked the chemistry between them. ...more
So much drama, so much angst, but such a great read.
I must admit I've had this book on my shelf for quite a while. I'd walk past it and take it down, only to put it back. Why? I'd read the first few pages and was sucked in, but I put it back because I didn't want the story to end. I knew it had to--there's only 170 pages. I'm glad I read the book, I only wish I'd gotten to it a LOT faster.
Initially I wasn't impressed with Brandon. He grated on my nerves because he had so much baggage. That said, the farther I got in the book, the more I respected him and the more I fell in love with him. He's complex and Mr. Deveraux wrote him with such care, I felt like I was right there and could hug Brandon. Heck, I wanted to. The descriptions put me right in his shoes. I liked Daniel, even when he got irksome. Why? I understood his feelings and could identify with him. He's a good man trying to figure out how to get what he wants out of life. Loved it.
Before I go any further, there were a few things that kept me from fully enjoying this book. Many times the same descriptions were used for the same character. I liked knowing how hot both men were, but felt there were times when I didn't need to be told again. I enjoyed Mr Deveraux's story telling. There were times I wasn't sure where the characters lived, but it never yanked me from the story.
I do have to mention there are more than a couple scenes that aren't for the faint of heart. There's a great deal of sexuality in the story and Mr Deveraux handles the emotions behind the acts well. If the reader isn't expecting a BDSM scene, then it could come across as a shock. Don't get me wrong, the scene made the book and gave me greater insight into the characters. The scene scorched the pages of the book and left me needing a cold drink. Yeah, it's that intense.
There aren't many books with characters who stick with me after the last page. This book is one of those rare exceptions. I wanted to spend more time with Daniel and Brandon. Good for me, there's two more books in the series. I can't wait to get my hands on them. If they are anything like this book, they will be worth the read. If you want a book that's strong on emotion and sex as well as a pair of characters guaranteed to wrap around your heart, then this is the book for you. ...more
Author Gale Stanley has created a fantastic tale that spans sixteen years and a cross country trek.
Betrayal led to the massacre of their families and a fear of humans. Like many of the remaining men of their pack, Gage and Tanner turned to one another out of necessity, comfort and a scarcity of female Lycans. When a chance meeting with a lost female member of their pack, Kate, brings out their mating instincts they’ll have to decide if she’s worth the risk. Kate no longer travels alone. Gage and Tanner not only have to woo the wary female, they’ll have to decide if they can trust and love her very hot human cowboy protector.
This is a short story so the reader isn’t required to relive the entire history of the characters but it is nicely sprinkled throughout the novella. Rather than overwhelming the story or holding back what is happening in the present, bits of the past and memories from Gage, Tanner and especially Kate add to the overall believability of the tale. Kate’s memories are especially compelling and paint her a sympathetic character.
The only non-Lycan member of the cast of main characters is rodeo star Shiloh Ford. In a manner similar to Gage and Tanner, Kate and Shiloh hooked up based on necessity and comfort. Shiloh is a likable character who has immediate chemistry with both Gage and Tanner despite their secretiveness.
There are several other character pairings mentioned throughout the story but mostly in passing conversation. We never really get to meet the other human/Lycan mates but their stories sound like they would be interesting. Ms. Stanley has already written and published the two follow-up books in the Southwestern Shifter series but they appear to be centered on other wolves in the pack.
Readers may notice the scenes sometimes jump rather quickly between chapters without a truly smooth transition. I had to flip back and re-read the previous paragraph a couple of times to be sure I understood the transition. Don’t get me wrong, though, this was really only a minor disruption and didn’t kill the overall enjoyment of the book.
If you’re looking for a short story series with lots of heart and heat, check out the first book in the Southwestern Shifter series, Hellfire. This novella is great for a quick read and the follow-up stories are conveniently already published. Ms. Stanley is a clever writer and worth checking out.
“He couldn't look away or stop doing the thing making that serpent rise.”
Whoa, momma! This book is hot. The heat comes from a well thought out plot, and an author who has a crazy sense of humor that made it impossible to put the book down until the end. The story is built around three men, a news reporter MacKenzie MacAllister (Mac Mac) and so-called straight man, Silver hair Daniel Terrebone, billionaire art collector and possible art thief, and Trelain Medveyev, a beautiful golden hair, gay Russian ballet dancer.
Ms. Lain has a way of bringing out the chemistry between the characters that both charmed and hypnotized me, and left me with a sense of peace and contentment when I was finished. The dialogue and true-to-life characters made me feel like a fly on the wall watching the drama play out. I love the fact that all three men are so different in personalities as well as lifestyles yet they are all drawn to each other. And of course the sex scenes were hot enough to boil water.
What I was partial to was the suspense of not knowing if the three would work out their differences, if they would all become lovers, or would they just have a weekend fling. Mac Mac was the one that kept me wondering the most, if he would open his eyes and see what was important to him before he lost it all. The dialect of Ms. Wow Wow was cute and made me wish I had a boss like her. She definitely stood out even though she was a secondary character in the story line. The tale was a work of art in itself with a lot of emotional pull; one that will be read again and again.
Two large all consuming warriors need their third mate to balance their relationship. Cyaan and Loken are impressive men. Both have been fierce warriors for as long as they can remember, and since they can live for hundreds of years, that has created a sense of disconnection with others and themselves. I love how they are equally balanced in almost all ways. While this may pose a problem in many relationships, Jace is what holds it all together.
This story had many positive qualities, but the one that really stands out in the forefront is the conflict with Mikel. That is truly the driving force behind this story and is also one of the reasons I labeled this story a forced seduction. Mikel spent years forcing Jace to do things he did not want to do among many other offenses. His obsession with Jace may make some readers feel uncomfortable but really adds depth to the story. Mikel is the ultimate wrong doer and through the entire story, I could not wait until justice finally prevailed.
The relationship dynamic or development was truly special. I love how as big an intimidating Cyaan and Loken may be but they seem to just melt where Jace was concerned. Some scenes left me smiling at how much they fawned over the smaller man. Even when they fumbled and made mistakes it was clear it was done out of love and concern. All three men created the perfect balance of love, tenderness and sex appeal.
The supporting cast within this story was entertaining in itself. I came to care for many of the secondary characters just as much as I cared for the main characters. Because this is a series, this is even more important to me because it creates interest in previous and future stories, which the author definitely did for this reader.
I do not even know who the main characters of the previous story were, but I do know that I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
Rama Kamane is a Bollywood legend. Women fall at his feet and millions flock to see his gorgeous visage on the silver screen. He knows how to play the press to keep his career going and if wants to go on to Hollywood, he needs to keep his homosexuality out of the tabloids.
Amar Vartak is a dreamer. Hitting it big in this Bollywood movie means everything but if he fails, he risks going home to England and an arranged marriage. He doesn’t plan to fall in lust with his co-star and idol, Rama but he can’t deny his feelings for the gorgeous actor.
Ms. Blackwell has written a sinfully sexy gay Bollywood-style romance. The plot is fun and the chemistry hums between the two actors. With a prostitute playing the unlikely cupid and a well-meaning co-star who pushes them together, this story’s rich cast carries a lovely plot.
The ending was unexpectedly sweet and very enjoyable. While the story had a rough start with little description, the writing smoothed out by the end and I found myself rooting for the characters to get together.
Bollywood Dreams is one hot romance and with an HEA that delivers at the end, this romance is certainly dreamy. I recommend it for someone who is looking for an afternoon escape to Mumbai.
The author created exceptional characters in this book and took lots of time explaining in detail the developing relationships while still being able to explain the past relationships. As a result, the story and the plot was difficult to get into but once I made it past the first two chapters, the characters were more defined and the plot was easier to follow.
The author zeroed in on one of the main heroes in greater depth which allowed me to connect with him and his feelings on an entirely different level.
By the middle of the book I was rooting for the heroes and got so involved, I wished I could have helped them as they dealt with suspense, adventure and love.
Bound by Law was slow at the start but built up to an amazing finish. Everyone should take the time to read it. This author has developed, supported and created heroes that you will root for, love and crave for more.
Nothing is worse than feeling like a third wheel. Sebastian and Marcus seem to have so much love for one another especially after being together for so many years. Poor Paulie cannot imagine having a place within the relationship. I could not imagine being destined to be with two partners whom have already been such a constant in each other’s lives. I related to Paulie’s apprehensiveness since I, too, would feel the same way.
The secondary characters are very likable, but can be a bit overwhelming. I did not have the pleasure of reading the previous stories in this series, which left me at a disadvantage because there are so many characters that I felt disconnected to. With that said, I can see how readers of the previous stories would love these characters and would want more of them.
This story had a very dynamic plot, which made it extremely entertaining. Not only were the main characaters trying to sort out their relationship, but they also had to deal with rogue werewolves and intolerant families. Again, since I did not read previous stories within this story I felt a little disconnected from some aspects of the sub-plots. One plot I felt completely emotionally involved in was Sebastian’s personal issues. Poor Sebastian only seemed to have his parents and Marcus in his corner. Because of his half-blood heritage, he is viewed as a misfit among his kind. While this made the story complex it is a common situation so it made the emotional connection with the characters particularly Sebastian more in depth.
This story was definitely action packed which made the time fly when reading. There was never a dull moment and for that, I would recommend this story to anyone who loves a good, sexy shifter now and then.
When two souls occupy one body they can either accept each other or destroy the body from the inside out. Throw in a sexy human with nowhere to turn but into Paul’s arms and you have one interesting read.
Matt, Paul, and Joshua’s insecurities created a common ground, and a conflict within the relationship. This mutual insecurity made the story much more entertaining. Most of us feel insecure about a new relationship, especially if the person’s past involves some form of abuse, or neglect. While both of their insecurities could have destroyed the blooming kinship in the end it was part of what brought them together.
While the romantic conflict was completely enthralling, the conflict with the mages was baffling. Other than the prologue, I did not understood how the conflict fit into the story. I figured maybe Paul and Josh’s shared physical form might give them an edge or play a role with the mages to tie them together, but that never happened. Additionally, the mage conflict introduced a few characters that I felt detached from, and never fully knew who they were and why they mattered to the story. I hope that the author can clear up some of my questions in the next installment of this series.
The love story between Paul, Joshua, and Matt was definitely a unique one. At the beginning of the story, I had no idea how the author was going to pull it off. Nevertheless, not only did the relationship work, it was perfect just the way it was. This is one of the few love stories where the romantic plot was different from your average story. It really made me question where this author came up with her ideas. This aspect of the story alone would make me recommend this story to my friends and family.
David needs to attend AA: "Alphas Anonymous". After leaving an abusive relationship, David tries to steer clear of all alpha males. However, being caught drooling over the volley ball players on the beach during lunch, David finds himself facing down Edge (aka Goliath), a giant of a man, and one of the team members. Thinking a beating is to come he is grateful when Gareth, Edge's team mate, steps in to stop the fight.
As the plot thickened I found myself laughing and enjoying the character, David, and his smart mouth. I could not help but love the byplay between Gareth and Edge especially when Gareth came out and said he was gay before a match. Throwing that revelation in the mix only added tension between the two friends. However, Gareth wanted David and was ready to face the dislike of his team mates to have him.
I definitely loved the plot with all the excitement and banter that went on between the characters. The courtship was not a bed of roses and had a number of road blocks to keep me wondering if it would be a happy ever after. Ms. Lain did a beautiful job in creating a funny but emotional tale to entertain the reader with only a few editing errors to be found. As a whole, the book was short but an attention getter and worth reading again in the future. This tale was truly a sensual and decadent experience that I will not forget any time soon. The whole story was a light and entertaining read that left me with a smile on my face thinking about an “Aussie sandwich”.
I do enjoy Ms. Lain’s writing style and her unique sense of humor which makes her books stand out in a sea of other publications. She is one author I would recommend to anyone that is looking for someone new to read.
This is one coupling that is one hot mess from the get go. When you live forever picking a mate is some serious business. This story picks up at the dinner where the elders of the paranormal community have sprung on all unexpected attendees that you have to mate or die. Normally rational people are doing irrational things and this is what makes this book so entertaining.
Being one of the oldest living paranormals makes Shea pretty much immune to everything except two young vampires treating him more like an object to be fought over and not a person. His anger over the forced mating is understandable but in all actuality what is done is done and Shea has no choice in the matter.
Calin and Dustin are vampires who only attended the paranormal gathering in hopes of finding new coven after being forced out of their old one for being gay. At first I felt these two were insensitive and had little regard for their actions but as I read I got a better understanding of what these two men had gone through. They’re not bad guys just victims like all other paranormals being forced to mate.
This threesome has their struggles at first but once a heartfelt plea by Calin is made, things get set on a different path, one of forgiveness. Reading how these men interacted was heartwarming and tender. It was like all the pieces of a puzzle that just fit.
The conflict in this story was a slow build piece by piece until it comes to a head. As the reader, I knew what was going to happen but to the characters in the book it was shocking. I really liked how when the attack came the resolution was swift and decisive.
Ms. Flynn’s imagination is one of wonder and the sex scenes she writes in this book are steamy. A little spanking, sex toys, and dirty talk always help a book move right along and this story was definitely a page turner. I’m always a little skeptical when it comes to ménage love stories but she wrote a love story between three men who felt as if not being a trio wasn’t an option.
As a follower of the Midnight Matings series, it's a little frustrating that the first few pages are just rereading what is in all the other books; the "why" of the forced matings. But for folks who haven't read the previous installments, that is also what makes the series so good. You do not have to read every book in this series to know what is going on in this crazy world.
If you’re looking for an erotic love story where the characters come full circle from hate to love, then this is a must read.
On the very first page, Captain Kane Kessler comes at Joshua in supercharged inferno of white-hot sexual heat. And it just gets better from there.
I just love Josh. He’s such a well-crafted character. A handsome, sexy yet somewhat nerdy bookworm. He’s sweet, funny and so touchingly giddy over the captain. Yet he’s all man; there’s nothing feminine about him. Ms. Blackwell has certainly mastered the art of creating complex masculine characters.
This story has all the humor and emotion that made The Captain’s Man so enjoyable. It’s a very novel feeling to laugh so hard while at the same time feeling my heart contract over what the characters are going through. Poignantly funny is the best way to describe it.
Kane Kessler is stern, commanding, tender, and sexy all at once. In short, alpha hot. We get a deeper view into Kane in this sequel and the conflict between him and Josh deepens. Kane is not as sure of his own emotions and this along with Josh’s insecurities fuels their conflict. The Christmas they share is so touchingly romantic it made me cry a little.
The sex is…wild, unabashed, wickedly sexy. This not for the faint of heart. The conflict is entwined through the whole story. There’s so much fire and emotion between these two. They bring out such explosive reactions in each other. The midpoint presents real emotional dangers from two directions.
There’s not a single boring moment in the story. Ms. Blackwell kept me on the edge of my seat for one afternoon. It was impossible to stop reading. I had to find out what happened next. This story is wild passion, conflict, fury, tenderness, one steady, outrageous roller coaster ride for the emotions. This is erotic romance at it’s best. It’s definitely got a special spot reserved on my keeper shelf.
You can’t buy love but if you’re a corrupt cop in the year 2120 you can seduce a rent boy for free. This is an intensely erotic story and sort of gritty. Io is easy to relate to because he’s in a situation where he’s powerless and being taken advantage of. He’s proud and keeps his sense of humor and shows a sort of emotional bravery in the face of this abuse. It’s sort of hard to relate to the corrupt cop, Blake, at first. Even though there’s obviously attraction and pleasure between him and the rent boy Io, he is taking advantage of Io.
Honestly? You want me to be honest? Okay, when I started reading this story, I intensely disliked Blake, but by page twenty-four I was beginning to root for him and Io to become something real to each other. That’s the beauty of Ms. Blackwell’s writing. She really knows how to lay the emotion on in a clear, crisp prose. It can sneak up on you. Truly she is an artist.
There’s lots of hot guy-on-guy-on-guy sex between Blake, Io and Ronnie, who is another corrupt cop. The sex is intense, very male and probably not for the faint of heart.
The story builds to a happy-for-now ending that is satisfying. Sin Row is a short, extremely erotic story that is emotionally compelling.
In the interwoven fabric of life, what happens to a group of people when someone in their circle dies? This is not a light read; it is a deep and emotionally rich, thought-provoking story. I enjoy complex stories and so I enjoyed this story very much. This plot is not exactly like a traditional romance but it is a love story with a hard earned happy ending. This is a compound novel that centers on the lives of two roommates who are struggling to carry on their lives in the face of deep grief. Their hearts hunger for love but their preconceived notions of loyalty and the desire to hang on to some piece of the past will not let them move on with living and loving.
The main character is Christian, whose partner, Conrad recently died and he is grieving deeply. Christian is human and vulnerable; easy to relate to. He’s surly when he’s having a bad day and feels bad about it later. He’s not always perfect but he is always real; I like that in a character. He is torn between his need to stay loyal to the memory of Conrad and his burgeoning attraction to Luke.
Christian’s best friend and roommate is Eban, a policeman. Eban is struggling to get over a painful breakup with Damien while supporting Christian through his grief. Eban is also trying to come to terms with his own multifaceted relationship with the now deceased Conrad. Yet Eban is also tempted by his new attraction to a new man named Darius. Eban is a long-suffering friend and sweet solace to Christian and the two men also fight an attraction to each other while they are trying to sort out their individual love lives.
This story does not follow the neat and tidy lines of most traditional romances. There’s extreme emotional danger to these men from all sides in their intricate interactions as they try and sort out and define what life means now that they have lost Conrad to death. There is also a scene of a violent crime which takes place in the middle of novel which may be too much for gentle readers. Emotions are the central focus of the plot and conflicts and the sex reflects this. The sex is not frequent and is more tightly related to plot than in many stories. But the sex is also hot and poignant and touchingly funny at the same time.
Secondhand Heart is a deep, rich story about life while grieving that switches mid-book to a story about coming out of grief. It has a happy, life-affirming ending that just might have you reaching for your hanky. It's one of the most satisfying stories I have read in a long time. I know I’ll be thinking of Christian and Eban’s world for a long time to come.
It’s a sin how much I enjoyed this story. I laughed so hard and then I felt so sad. It’s funny, sexy, sweet, naughty and poignant all at once. At only ninety-nine pages, it’s a lot more than I was expecting. I was anticipating just a frivolous vacation cruise romp with lots of hot sex. And it is that but it’s so much more, too. It’s a real romance with plenty of real emotional risk for both heroes.
Joshua Addison is a very authentic character, vulnerable and funny. I fell in love with him and got right into identifying with him. I was crying “Oh no, you didn’t!” each time that he did something stupid out of self-protection or pride, and feeling happy for him when things worked out anyway.
Captain Kane Kessler is commanding and sexy with just the right touch of the forbidden, or maybe I should say the forbidding. Joshua has been deeply hurt in the recent past and he’s not quite ready for the intensity that Kane shines on him. I enjoyed experiencing all the angst, anxiety and adoration of this once-in-a-lifetime affair with Joshua. In addition, the world of the cruise and the exotic locales they visit is brought to life. I could just smell the salt tang and coconut oils and hear the gulls.
Ms. Blackwell doesn’t shy away from showing their conflict, be it emotional, mental or physical. There are a few scenes of physical aggression between the two. It made it more real for me and it wasn’t overdone. It made it seem like two men in actual fact fighting their own attraction for each other in a relationship with high stakes. Their emotional conflict plays out in the sexual scenes in a beautifully interwoven way, nothing gratuitous here. And the sex is raw and hot, and tender and vulnerable all at once, certainly not for the faint of heart. This book is a full-bodied erotic romance.
The Captain’s Man is a for real love story about two for real men. I can see myself adding it to my guilty pleasures list and reading it more than once. Now I can’t wait to read the next book.
I may not be able to pronounce some of their names, but I'll still remember these characters for a long time. Jared--easy name, Tomas--easy name again... but Zongxian, say that again! With such a difficult name, his character had to be explosive, and that he was, along with his other mates. I cannot pick just one because I loved all three of them for their own unique reason. I love Jared’s open heart and willingness to go with the punches. Tomas’s passion is evident from the moment he is introduced. No matter what it is once, his mine is made up he puts everything he has into that task. Zongxian exudes power whether it is physical or mental. Together this trio is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
The relationship development was consistent throughout this story, but in the beginning, I didn't feel the passion from the characters the way I would have liked to. It was clear they were mates and wanted each other, I just would like to have felt that extra oomph. Fingers itching to touch one another, sneaking a glance when the other man is not looking, that type of connection. In addition, the sex didn't occur as much as I would have expected from these characters. I expected them to be tearing off each other’s clothes constantly. Then again, if I had villain after villain threatening my family and me, I would probably put sex on the backburner also.
The author really incorporates little extra effects in this story to make it stand out. While most of the story is based in the modern world, there is some parallel traveling involved that adds a certain element to the story. Moreover, the paranormal element is explosive! You have dragons, vampires, werewolves, mythical creatures, snake shifters ... the list just keeps going. These unique characters and relationships between them really made this story a standout.
Despite this book being part of a series, I felt right at home even though I have not read the previous stories. After meeting the characters, I would love to go back and read the previous stories, but it was not necessary in order to enjoy this story.
Because of the great characters, exciting plot and the fact that it can be read alone I recommend Dragon's Bloodmoon and will continue to follow the Deadly Mates series.

Being a fan of the Purrfect Mates series, I knew this was a story I had to read at once.
Shem Cowell’s life hasn’t been ideal and he is managing the best he can. He was born blind but only while in human form. His parents were murdered protecting him and his brothers and he lives with vampires. He’s still trying to come to grips with all the changes in his life when he meets one of his mates, Curtis.
Curtis is the brother to the vampire who helped murder Shem’s parents. To say he feels extreme guilt is an understatement. Stumbling upon his mate was a reprieve from the shame and loss his brother had caused. These two have constant misunderstandings when getting to know one another. Shem is young and has never been in a relationship before, so it’s only natural that he will take Curtis’s caring for him as pity.
Shem and Curtis are just starting to get to know one another when they come across their other mate, a human: Diets. Mating with a human throws a wrench in the mating game. Growing up believing vampires and shifters were a thing of myth it’s hard for Diets to understand the consequences of not mating his cheetah shifter. With time, these three men get to know one another and it’s not until Diets' life is put in jeopardy does the strength of love shine through.
All three of these men come from different backgrounds but are seeking the same thing, a family. A very sweet and touching love story and definitely not lacking in the sex department. Ms. Flynn writes very graphic loves scenes that jump off the pages, but in a way that adds to the relationship between the men in the story. My Angel Cheetah was a fast paced read that will keep you entranced until the very end. A must add to your Purrfect Mates collection.

Luc Hellbourne is the youngest son of the devil but that’s only half of his problems. He has just been cast aside by his werewolf lover Bran... for a woman. Feeling heartbroken over the rejection he seeks solace in the arms of a powerful vampire. Nikko is instantly attracted to Luc and wants to keep the young man for himself and Luc is more than willing to stay with Nikko to help get over Bran.
This is a love triangle like no other. Luc may be the son of the devil but he is nothing like his father. He’s loving, caring and likes helping others. So when Bran comes crawling back to Luc, he struggles with what he should do; go back to the lover who broke his heart, or take a chance on the love that is growing between him and Nikko? When Bran needs him, Luc goes to his aid. The decision of where he should be is easily made.
Being the most favored son of the devil causes him to be extremely unpopular with his four older brothers. Every year on his birthday the devil brings Luc down to hell to try and persuade him to stay and help rule at his side. The devil's methods in trying to get Luc to stay are brutal and violent.
The devil changes the rules on Luc and all the strange occurrences happening in his life start to make sense when Luc discovers what the reward for getting him to stay in hell is. When Luc is drained of all his power he is forced to ask Bran, the man he loves, and Nikko, the man he is coming to love, to set aside their difference and help save his life.
Bravo to this author for writing such a captivating story. There are so many unexpected issues that come to light that will leave the reader shocked, but also relieved because it explains so much about these characters and why they did what they did. I loved how Ms. Kell wrapped this story up at the end but left it open to come back and write a follow up story later.
Hellbourne is an exciting read from beginning to end and I would recommend this story to all paranormal romance lovers.

Sunset Carson is unlike any preacher I have ever read about. Quick tempered, gun carrying, and deeply conflicted. This man’s internal struggles are just jaw-dropping. Being a gay man is hard in any day and in age, but on the dangerous Texas frontier even more so. Hats off to this author for putting together such an amazing read. Weaving together religion and homosexuality can be very taboo, but in this case it's eye opening. A good lesson in acceptance and forgiveness.
Pairing a man of God up with a man with no religious beliefs is the perfect conflict. Add to it the lies and deceit from Sunset’s lover Vince and you got yourself a story you can’t put down for one moment. Vince Michaels is an extremely selfish man. When he wants something or someone, he will do whatever he has to get it. He’s a character you want to hate but the author wrote him so well you keep your fingers crossed that he’ll get Sunset in the end. Vince is a complete bad boy that discovers some things about himself through the help of a good preacher.
This story is filled with extremely erotic love scenes. There are plenty of bed partners going around in this story. It’s almost completely unbelievable at first to think this preacher would be partaking in all these sexual acts, with three different partners, but it makes him a more believable character. We're all human and when love's involved it overrides better judgment.
I have to say this book was a complete surprise. A preacher having a love affair with a criminal is intriguing. Kelly Conrad brought together two polar opposites that will have you rooting for them in the end. Rogue Preacher is a must add to your reading list.
Who could ever imagine that getting beat up and left with casts on both arms could be the best thing that could ever happen to you? Winter Ryan mightWho could ever imagine that getting beat up and left with casts on both arms could be the best thing that could ever happen to you? Winter Ryan might be having a run of bad luck when it comes to boyfriends but when he asks his sister for help he gets double his pleasure in the form of two very sexy twins. I wished I was Winter.
This story had a new interesting element to it being that the Sullivan family are Irish wolfhounds and seem to only have twin boy offspring. Like most shifters they mate for life. I’m a fan of romance stories that have a sexy hero and in this story we get two. Identical twins they might be but they have completely different personalities. It’s nice that the author made each man his own person. When it comes to caring for Winter each has their own strengths they bring to the relationship.
Garrett and Hawk come to Winter's rescue and immediately the sexual attraction is leaping off the pages. Yes Winter is getting over being beaten but the pull he has for the twins is undeniable. Both men are loving and caring with Winter so the fact that this man just suffered a trauma didn’t take away from the budding love growing between them.
The story has several steamy sex scenes that will leave you fanning your face. Winter and his Twins is a short story and a very fast paced read. There are internal struggles for Winter when it comes to having a boyfriend let alone two. Plus moving to a new town where he meets his mates' family has Winter on edge at first. Sanctuary is a perfect name for this hidden away little town because it becomes a safe haven for Winter.
The author weaved together personal struggles with just enough love and compassion to make an exciting love story. Winter and His Twins is a delightful read that I highly recommend. originally posted at http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201......more
