He believes she’s a submissive attending a casual lunch. She believes she’s meeting with associates of her ex-husband’s. When they learn the truth, despite their mutual shock, their sexual chemistry is impossible to deny. Tempted to learn more about the lifestyle, Lisa accepts Darren’s offer to attend a private gathering. Before long, Darren is enamored with a woman who isn’t sure she’s submissive at all, and the chase is on.
Purple Passion is a story readers are sure to enjoy. Darren and Lisa are perfect for each other. He’s intuitive where she’s impulsive. Their dialogue and banter is both sweet and sexy, and some of the pages are so hot you’ll have to fan yourself. When jealousy and venomous ex-spouses and partners threaten to pull them apart, they come closer together. The story is a perfect slow burn, giving the reader just what they need while hinting at future delights.
The writing is tight, the pace is perfect, and the characters are wonderfully developed. The BDSM elements, while present, are not the central focus on the story. Purple Passion is about two people finding what they want most in another person. As Darren and Lisa fall for each other, the reader can’t help but fall for them as well.
Those searching for a hot, passionate, BDSM erotic romance will thoroughly enjoy Purple Passion.

Caught in a broken down car that was borrowed from her cheating ex, she’s waiting for her white knight to save her. Gabe is a knight in tarnished armor. Working as a tow truck driver, he can’t help but rush in to defend Lily because that’s what he always does. But Lily is different and Gabe finds himself powerless to resist her charms.
With white hot chemistry between Lily and Gabe, the sex scenes were explosive. There was an odd part in one of the first sex scenes where the characters fumbled and it seemed disjointed (although it was realistic) but I didn't let it do more than cause a small stutter before I moved past it and kept reading. It was a mere blip on the radar, while there were many more delicious scenes to read after.
Lily is sweet and adorable but Gabe is the shining star of this book. With a broken past, he is sure he isn’t the right type of guy for Lily but she knows what she needs. Lily is a strong character, perhaps strong enough to heal Gabe.
This book is great for people who love broken and sexy heros. I love the characters as well as the secondary characters. Hopefully we’ll see books about them in the future from Ms. Hart. With yet another sinfully hot book, this author has become an instant buy for me. I highly recommend it.

Talk aboIf you don't have a fan, you may want to buy one of those hand held jobs because you will need it by the time you're done reading this story. Talk about heating the blood and keeping you on the edge of pure, unadulterated desire; “Double Dilemma” is the story that will do it. I agreed with the heroine at the start of the story: “sex never killed anyone”, but after reading the whole thing, I am not so sure.
Emma Jean is the owner of Devilish Delights, an adult sex store. Emma Jean knows her sex toys and she knows what she wants, which is two younger men, Earl Lightfoot and Detective David Delaney, in her bed at the same time.
I fell for the charm of both Earl Lightfoot and David Delaney and had to laugh at the rivalry and jealousies the two felt toward each other. However, they both wanted Emma Jean so they are willing to coexist if it made her happy. “Double Dilemma” is the first BDSM dominatrix themed story I have read and was surprise at how much I loved reading the female alpha attitude, and watching her in control of the sex scenes. It's so different from the erotic romance I'm use to reading but as a whole was very entertaining. I was definitely enthralled by all the added mystery and secondary characters that gave the plot a unique and fast pace that will reach out and grab you.
Ms. Nina is a brilliant writer, and kept things sizzling with the luscious sex scenes between the three main characters as well as added depth to the story line. You can bet I will never look at Maple syrup the same way again. I will be looking for more books written by Ms. Nina now that I have read this one. I can't wait to tell my friends about this book and author Tara Nina.

If you answered yes, then you won’t want to miss Desiree Holt’s latest book in the Cowboy Kink series, Crack the Whip.
Reece Halliday is a man who knows what he wants. Complete and utter control in the bedroom. A sub who will submit to his every desire. Ten years ago, that wish destroyed his relationship with Katie Warren. Now that Katie’s back and working in his club, can he convince her to give him another chance?
Katie Halliday might be a submissive in the bedroom, but out of it? She’s a strong woman who knows her mind and what she wants in a relationship. Her feelings for Reece are stronger than ever, but Reece will have to earn her trust before she will completely submit to him.
Reece and Katie are wonderfully crafted and fully fleshed characters whose shared past lends credibility to the relationship in this highly erotic and hot, hot, hot short story.
Desiree Holt is a master writer of erotic romance and she unapologetically pushes the sexual envelope in Crack the Whip. Readers are going to love this latest installment in the Cowboy Kink series!

With five of thThe adventure continues the morning after Scarlett's dramatic rescue and the ensuing mating ritual with her seven sexy longhorn beaus. With five of the brothers away, Scarlett is left to the tender ministrations of the eldest twins, Byron and the alpha male of the family, Leo. With Byron on calf watch, it's up to Leo to care for Scarlett and further her budding sexual education, something Scarlett is only too willing to participate and instigate.
Scarlett still suffers from temporary amnesia and is helpless against the efforts of her unknown evil nemesis. Despite the care and attention of her shifter mates, it's while Leo and Byron are otherwise occupied, that fate comes calling for Scarlett yet again...
Scarlett and Leo are so wrapped up in their new discovery of each other that it's all about the physical, while they share a first day alone. Yet all seven of the longhorn shifter brothers have tender feelings, newly realized after finding and claiming their one true mate. Those feelings are put to the test once again when Scarlett's life is in danger from poisoning and all seven of her heroes head home in a hurry to surround her and reaffirm their love. With culmination of physical intimacy with all her shifter mates at one time, a vision of her past returns to Scarlett and with it, the beginnings of another pathway down the road to recovery and discovery.
One character that really stood out for me is the wicked and evil stepmother. She is just as delightfully dastardly and debauched as could possibly be hoped for! Ms Newmar weaves her characters from grit and brawn, and a rawness that only seems fitting since all her heroes are bulls!
There's much humor in this book too and aside from it only being 80 pages long, there's action a plenty and the sex is hot, heavy and frequent. Ms. Newmar has set the stage for her next book about Scarlett and her longhorn lovers and it will be interesting to see what challenges and direction she takes them on. On the whole though, while I found the story likable and the premise entertaining, it was also rather forgettable. But if you like it light, fun, with a kinky twist on an old classic, Leo's Crown might be just what you're after.

Angel is theIf a reader is looking for a bit of fun, with a light plot but plenty of erotic heat then reading Las Vegas is like hitting the jackpot.
Angel is the heroine of the story and her sole purpose of being in Las Vegas is to reach the only Eiffel Tower she can afford to get to in order to fulfill her grandmother’s last wish. Things don’t go according to plan and she makes a decision that puts her in the path of a life changing event. Even the most poorly made choices don’t always have permanent dire consequences and Angel found out in a hurry, much to her and mine’s delight.
Because this is a short story, things move at a fast clip so Ms. Alex sets up the premise in quick fashion. It’s told in first person point of view so a reader can follow Angel’s rationalization for every move she makes. It’s her interpretation of things, her responses to the three heroes and how she felt about the things she experienced in their arms that made the book so fun.
The guys are hot to trot and full of dominant ideas on how to fulfill Angel’s fantasies. They assert themselves into her life early on and never stop. They’re like steamrollers and they want her in the worst way so anything goes. Of course, that’s half the fun of Las Vegas and the author was quite inventive.
As much as I enjoyed reading this tale and finished it in record time because I wanted to see what her hunky men would do next, there was a small weakness. There were only two edit blips so that’s no big deal. What left me puzzled was the impression I got that quite a few times when Angel had an internal monologue, either Liam or Brody heard her. At no time did I get the sense they were gifted with paranormal talents nor did Angel notice or remark about their amazing mind reading abilities yet that is how it presented. Otherwise, it’s an entertaining book with many well written scenes to satisfy the fans of light bondage and lovers of chocolate fun.
Las Vegas is simply an enjoyable read without any baggage or angst to drag it down. It’s a perfect little story for readers who are looking for a short shot of woo-hoo with optimistic overtones and a cute happily ever after that is just as saucy and hot as the rest of the book. I had a good time reading Las Vegas.

Restraining the RIf you have read the first book in this series than you must read this latest installment of Dana’s adventures with Simon and Ethan. Restraining the Receptionist takes you on an emotional ride that never slows down. Dana must take a hard look at herself and her feelings for these two men. Will she choose to stay or will she choose to go? Only Dana can make that decision but what will it cost her?
I really enjoyed finding out the depth of the emotions that each of these characters has for each other. It was nice to see more of Ethan as a man with feelings and thoughts that are not always sexual, than the mean and threatening dominant that Dana perceives him to be. He truly cares for both Simon and Dana. Seeing Dana grow into the woman she becomes was a good read. It was nice to see her do some soul searching as well. Simon, Ethan and Dana need each other in their lives. The love that they share shines off of the pages. This story delves deeper into their souls than the first book did. We get to know what makes Simon tick and we see Dana grow up and find her heart not just her enjoyment of their games.
Juniper Bell writes an emotional, sexy story full of love and trust. When Dana and Ethan open up there is no stopping them; add in Simon and you have a force to be reckoned with. This was a wonderful story and I cannot wait to see just what Ethan and Simon have in store for Dana next.

It runs the gamut from a story about vampires to a man looking for the right Domme who can help him with the pain he longs for. With an abundance of stories and plots to choose from there is bound to be a story for just about everyone.
Mistake by London Saint James is a story about a rich woman and a man from the wrong side of the tracks. The two may come from different worlds but the attraction that they feel for each other is real. Even as hot as the sex gets between these two, you can see that the love that they feel for each other is strong and true. Xavier may be a rough man but his heart belongs to Sienna. Sienna is a strong woman who knows what she wants and is willing to go after it no matter what the costs. The two make a wonderful couple no matter how different their worlds are the love that thy have for each other out shines it all.
Denied by Lauren Gallagher we find a sub who likes it rough but he cannot seem to find the right Domme. When he does a scene with Lady Roxanne, Elliot’s dreams may have come true. She knows just how to tease and how to hurt. Could she be the Domme for him? I enjoyed the way this story was told from the sub's perspective. The emotions that he goes through are very strong and the bond that the two begin to feel is a good one. Elliot is a man that is searching for what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it. Seeing his persistence made for a good read.
In Tempted by Jenika Snow we get a paranormal story. Athena finds herself tied to a bed with four vampires to satisfy. The author sets the scene right from the beginning pulling me into Athena’s world with all her details and imagery. Athena is full of emotion as are the four men making this an intense read. With an interesting twist at the end of this story, I found myself wanting to know more about Athena and her men.
Spice it Up by Alexandra O'Hurley brings us Kellee, an office worker looking for something more. As she begins an online conversation with an anonymous man she gets braver and braver until she finally agrees to meet him at a bar. Sparks fly right from the start between the two and they continue their fun into the night. I liked this story and the feelings that Kellee has. She is a woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. Jed is a great man always taking care of Kellee’s wants as well as his own. This was a nice romantic story with a surprise ending that made the story even more magical.
In Lady Blake’s Tales for the Queen by Pepper Anthony we are introduced to Lady Blake who has been imprisoned and must treat the Queen to nightly tales. In this nights tale we learn about the couple Arrabelle and Sir Devon. As we see the innocent Arrabelle find her true self and give it freely to Sir Devon there is no mistaking the love that is building between the two. I enjoyed meeting Lady Blake and would love to see more stories about her and her plight. Lady Blake weaves a wondrous tale for the Queen and in the end I could only hope that we get to read more stories about her tales in the future.
After the Honeymoon by Rachel Clark is about Keith and Michelle, a couple who is on the verge of divorce. They've lost that spark and neither of them know what to do. When Keith decides to show his true self to Michelle he only hopes that being a Dom will not scare her away. He could never imagine that she might enjoy it, but enjoy it she does. Then Michelle begins to mix up her feelings and becomes confused and runs away until their best friends try to help her understand the lifestyle. I liked seeing the bond of love and trust that Michelle and Keith have. Watching Michelle find herself and understand her wants and needs was a great read. The emotions were high in this story and the friendship with the other couple was a nice touch. Not only do we see Keith and Michelle lean on each other but we also see that they can lean on their friends as well.
Hidden Pleasures by Ashlynn Monroe brings us Jill and Ty, a married couple who find that they may not know each other as thoroughly as they thought. When Jill catches her husband watching BDSM movie she not only is intrigued but willing to try it with him. I enjoyed seeing the love that the two share. Jill never once thought less of her husband and wanted to enjoy him in every aspect. The intense love that these two had for each other made this not only a hot read but a sweet one as well.
Taken for Pleasure by Angelina Rain brings us Duncan’s story. He is a strong man who loves with all his heart but must decide if he is willing to put that heart back on the line once again. When Alyssa interferes in his latest relationship he has had enough and kidnaps her. While trying to find out Alyssa’s motives the truth comes out and surprises Duncan. I liked Duncan right from the start. He is a good man who deals with all that life throws at him and picks himself back up without missing a beat. Alyssa and Duncan are a great couple that love each other deeply.
Bad Romance by Melissa Hosack is a great story. Ashe is a woman who finds out that her family is not what she has always believed it to be. When she finds out what a mistake she has made she is more than willing and ready to make amends, especially after she meets Jason. Jason is a strong man who fights for those that he cares about. The two make a strong couple and the love that blooms between them is a wonderful read.
This anthology was a pleasure to read. It was nice to be able to read these short stories from new authors and find out if I liked any of their writing styles. I found many characters full of emotion and depth that were more than ready to have me hear their stories.
I will remind readers that this is a BDSM anthology and that some of the sex may be intense and could offend some. In reading this anthology I found new authors that I enjoy and will be sure to look for more from them in the future.

This concept is what immediately interested me, and made me pick up this story. I was delighted to read a story that fully embraced the paranormal element the way Inflamed has.
Isabella is a demon that I would like to have on my side of a battle. She has a strong will that really makes her standout as a heroine. While she may be a damsel in distress that does not mean she cannot protect people she cares for. The notion that a demon can care for someone in itself made her character intriguing. In true subbuccus fashion once she has a tantalizing sexual encounter her powers are amazing. I would consider the total package of what I look for in a heroine.
While the story was thoroughly entertaining I did feel a little disconnected from the storyline at moments since I had not read the earlier stories in this series. It is obvious from the very beginning that I would be missing something since I was coming into the series in story 4, especially with Pete’s siblings. I think I also was a little disconnected from Pete because of it as well. I could tell that previous information was given about his personality, by dialogue within the story, but I just could not make as good of a connection with him as I would have liked because of this missing information. Therefore, while you will enjoy the story if you have not previously read the stories, I would suggest that you read the previous stories to fully appreciate the authors talent.
The conflict within this story was one that again featured a wonderful paranormal element. Demon and dragons working together to defeat a Dark mage. What gets more paranormal than that? The Dark mage is one impressive foe and seems to be undefeatable. The element of an every unobtainable victory always makes a conflict even more entertaining, and the twist at the end was just the icing on the cake. I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for this series next.

This is my first book by Kaenar Langford and after seeing so many great reviews for her work, I couldn't wait to dive into this book. I'm glad I did. The characters stayed with me after the end of the book, keeping me up later that night thinking "I wonder what happened next". The book is written in a fast pace, but slowed in just the right places so I could savor certain scenes. It was like I was right there watching the action unfold and certainly needing a cool drink.
Although I liked the book, there were a few...quirks. This is the first instance in a m/m book where a part of the anatomy was referred to as an 'aperture'. This may not bother most people, but once I got the image of a camera winking...well, it was hard to erase it. Another thing I'd have liked was to have more conflict. Sure, there's lots of emotional conflict. I raced to the end of the book, needing to know what would happen. And yet, things seemed almost too tidy in spots. I know this is romance and I know the outcome I expect, but I just wanted to see more conflict and 'will they or won't they' moments to really up the tension.
That being said, the scenes between Vayle and Daniel are well told. No detail was left out. I especially liked the scene with the camera. Not traditional, but I think that's what was so great about it. I didn't see it coming and loved it.
If you want a book that will make you shiver with delight, then you need to read Waiting So Long. I give it four hearty cherries.
Nutter Nero is a story that will tug at your heart strings but make you laugh in the process. Pairing a wolf with a small human dealing with major obsessive compulsive disorder is comical. Nero is called to the Brac mansion when the alpha mate's gaming console breaks. These wolves and mates had no idea what they were getting themselves into when he came into their lives.
All the mates within the Brac compound have dealt with difficult pasts and Nero is no different. He grew up in an abusive home, which is the cause of his severe OCD. Most of the time Nero’s idiosyncrasies aren’t of major concern and the others in the house understand what’s going on with him and overlook his oddities. But when Nero feels threatened he reverts back to that scared little boy.
Gunnar is happy to have found his mate and he helps Nero deal with his OCD. The way Gunnar helps coax Nero out of his shell is both sweet and inventive. I like how Gunnar becomes Nero’s rock. The love they share is beautiful. Ms. Hagen writes about these strong fierce warriors who would do anything to make there little mates smile.
Once again the rogue vampires and werewolves are wreaking havoc in their small town causing the wolves to work overtime. We get to meet a new addition to the Brac pack and he makes his appearance with a bang.
Lynn Hagan has the ability to make you laugh and cry with her entertaining books. She touches a cord with the serious issues she writes about as well as makes us laugh with the crazy antics of her characters. Nutter Nero is an excellent addition to the Brac Pack series.
A most masterful, drop-dead-gorgeous and experienced Dom from Dark Haven, who’s a little jaded and in need of someone special to ‘shake up his world’, is about to have his most ardent desires fulfilled…
When Master Trevor wins the delectable, disobedient and ‘badly in need’ of proper training sub, with a winning hand of poker, he makes it his personal mission to educate Shelby. He’ll totally immerse her and show her exactly how a good sub should behave, push all the boundaries that have, until now, deemed her as one who merely dabbles in the lifestyle. They’ve only got a week, but much can happen in that time and the effect will leave them both changed and hungry for more, yet ambivalent of future possibilities together. In the meantime, both Master and sub are in for titillating, sublime ride to ecstasy!
Sierra Cartwright literally grabs a reader by the short and curly’s, unapologetically plunging one gasping and trembling, into the exotic and erotic world of BDSM. She’s a Goddess of the written word. A practiced virtuoso, able to arouse and beguile the attentions with ease.
Her characters, certainly wormed their way into my affections, delighting my imagination and keeping me right there with them on the edge, as they plunged recklessly into their adventure.
A sensual feast of erotic delights, that kept me glued to the pages! Hoping for the HEA, that invariably Ms. Cartwright delivers so well.
Fabulous work Ms Cartwright, I for one, am eagerly anticipating the next heady adventure!
Hunting Holly By Belinda McBride
When a runaway mate is discovered topping subs and exploring her inner Domme at Dark Haven, her Truckee beaus, Tex and Hunter, who’ve spent the last year searching for her, decide fair turnabout is essential.
And these two wolf-men are no playful pups and are only too happy, ready and willing to see the job done right. For tonight is far more than just a scene, cause when they get their hands on their sweet runaway Holly, she’ll be the one begging… for more.
Three hearts become one, with an explosive sexual tension ratcheted up to a new level of high; in a potent mix of red hot desire, erotic exploration and a fervent consummation and fulfillment.
Don’t ever let it be said that Ms. McBride is afraid to ‘mix it up,’ because this lady doesn’t know the meaning of the word coward. Fearless and Fabulous!! She shakes up the erotic romance genre, easily and with kick-ass style, tearing loose all the restraints and delving head-long into her world, where the paranormal, BDSM, ménage, the fantasy and fantastical, with real life heroes and a heroines meet to make ones heart soar.
Belinda McBride is gifted. She tells a love story with characters guaranteed to inflame the imagination and have pulse rates quickening. And I love that there’s always so much going on in the background in her stories: Vampires, other shifters, a mysterious child that just happened to materialize at Dark Haven, and always the constant threat from Abraxas, the mystery of the gene splicing, danger and kidnapping, murder and mayhem… I’m whining at the end, wishing it wasn’t over!
Ms. McBride is simply brilliant. Love this story! Bring on the next one please...
Welcome To The Dark Side by Cherise Sinclair
I so badly want to play with Cherise’s Doms…
Acknowledging his need to dominate a willing woman into submission is the reason why Virgil is at Dark Haven on Western Night. And a more perfect sub he couldn’t have wished for, when he first laid eyes on the luscious, Summer. After calf roping his little sub in, binding her firmly and carrying her off to leisurely enjoy his prize, he’s ready to push some mutual boundaries. Especially when she responds so sweetly to him…
But Summer had a bad experience the year before and she has definite Hard limits. Dark fears, that sometimes overwhelm her to the point where she’ll top from the bottom if she has to, just to stay in control, and only at Dark Haven, with others around to keep her safe.
Virgil might be new to being a Dom, but he’s no slouch. With a cop's cool instincts, a sure touch and a keen eye, he' quick to note what quickens her pulse rate and what gets her temperature rising. He’s aware of more than sex going on between them. But can he give her what she needs to move past her fears, and can she eventually let them go and accept whole-heartedly, all that he has to offer?
Cherise Sinclair is the hands-down Queen of BDSM tales in my book! They're always filled with the hottest BDSM scenes I could possibly imagine, unbridled heart-stopping passion and love, hurdles to conquer and life to get living; I don't think anyone does it better.
Virgil and Summer are just gorgeous. Characters I could ‘sink my teeth into,’ they seem so real! I found myself drawn in to their love story and felt for them on every step of their journey, as they struggled to figure it out and the way to move forward together. And even knowing they’ll get their HEA, it was no less thrilling for the telling. Engrossing and completely captivating from start to finish.
This story wrung me out, pulling me 'every which way' through the full gamut of emotions. I was however, left sated and limp as a cooked wet noodle on the floor… Wow, such a terrific story!
All three of these fabulous authors are “Masters of their craft.”
If like me, you like your erotic romance, ‘spiced-up’ with a little BDSM, then the stories in this anthology are ‘bound’ to please. And to think I actually thought they couldn’t get any better than they did with, Dom’s of Dark Haven Vol.1!
Filled with love, laughter, sensuous bliss and discovery. The stories here, reflect the very of best erotic romance, with a twist, has to offer. Divinely risqué, with all the drama, passion, joy and excitement we could hope for and always a HEA to die for!
Last but not least, thanks for the cameos Ladies! Loved the ‘peeps’ of our heroes and heroines, you wove into your tales from each others stories.
Coming home from the war TJ Lipton is only a shell of the woman she used to be. An unexpected tragedy has taken its toll on TJ and she has no idea how to fix her life or even herself. When fate brings Cross back into her life she does not recognize him but he realizes who she is and wants to save her if she will only let him.
Hopefully the 1-800-DOM line can help them through it all. This book is an intense read. TJ is struggling with her past and her pain. She is a strong woman who needs to find her way back and Cross may be just the person who can help her find herself again. I loved Cross and his patience. He finds himself falling hard for TJ and no matter what happens between them he still wants to help her. Cross is a good man with a big heart. He understands what TJ needs and is more than willing to give it to her no matter the consequences. It was nice to see not only their relationship build but also the bond of trust and love that they share. I was truly able to feel Cross and TJ's emotions throughout the story.Watching this bond develop made for a great read.
This book took me on an emotional ride. The author does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and making this not only a hot read but also a sweet romance. I will caution readers that this is a BDSM story and it does contain strong sexual scenes that may not be for everyone.
Julian may sometimes dress like a girl but Trent is about to find out Julian is all guy. Actor and singer Julian agrees to dress in drag as a favor to his friend. Little did anyone know that hot firefighter Trent would fall for Julian dressed as Julia. When playboy Julian discovers he may actually have found the perfect man, the love triangle between Trent, Julia, and Julian gets messy. Only Trent’s willingness to understand and accept Julian holds the key to their happiness.
Le Jazz Hot plays on the familiar gender bending comic trope. Julian pretends to be a girl one night and that happens to be the night he meets Trent and there’s an instant connection. The story is a lark from the beginning and instantly over the top. In this day and age there’s no question such a scenario is unlikely to happen so readers have to be willing to suspend some considerable disbelief to get into the story and appreciate it. If you can do that, then the somewhat exaggerated antics aren’t likely to bother you.
The real strength of the story is the characterization. Trent comes across as too good to be true and perfectly naïve. This is a bit of a stretch but the adorable playful banter Julian offers is likely to win over readers. Trent is occasionally offensive in his ignorance but Julian shines as a bit of a mess. He loves women’s clothes but doesn’t want to be a woman. He’s happy as a guy but commits a lot of those first crush mistakes – such as pretending to be interested in the same hobby only to embarrass yourself. It’s a relatable and rather cute comic story that relies on missteps, misunderstandings, and ultimately good sex to come up with a happy ending.
The sex scenes sizzle and the pace is quick so the book reads very fast, and it fits that desire for an easy, uncomplicated and light hearted read. If this sounds like something you want, give it a try.
Sid has had it bad for Talia since the first time he sees her but she belongs to another. Sid watches Talia getting closer and closer to the edge with her abusive master until the day she shows up on his doorstep torn and battered. He longs for Talia to let him be her Master. Can she overcome all the damage done by her previous Master, to her body and to her soul as well? Will his love be enough to rebuild Talia’s trust and confidence?
Best Reception is not only a hot read but a sweet romance as well. Sid is a wonderful man who loves with all his heart. He patiently waits for Talia to recover, not only from broken bones but also from her loss of confidence as well. Talia is finding her way back, slowly but steadily. The love these two share is evident from the beginning and burns up the pages. While I enjoyed Talia and Sid’s story I would have liked to see a bit more of what happened to the two before they got together, not just the reminders we get through out the book. Sid and Talia make a wonderful couple and it would be nice to see just what makes them each tick.
This book shows just what patience and true love can do for a person. Sid is more than up for the job of helping Talia through her tough times. I loved seeing Talia grow from a scared and battered girl into a woman ready to grow and push herself. I am a big fan of this series and this book is a great addition to it. I love the Rebels and cannot wait to see who finds love next.
Humor, hot lovin' and a smokin' wolf shifter. You so want to read this book.
When I found this book, I found a great author and, yeah, I'm nabbing all of this author's back list. Belinda McBride managed to grab my attention not just within the first page, but in the first paragraph. Her writing flows. I laughed, cried, and wanted more. I felt like I was right there with Diego and Victoria and by the last page, it was like reading about my closest friends.
I loved both main characters. Diego is damaged because he feels like he's never enough. He's not ready to accept what he is and the struggle makes the book an emotional read. He has fantastic chemistry with Victoria. Their banter had me in stitches. He gives her a run for her money and it's fun to read. And then there's Victoria. She's a piece of work and it's great. She never expected to find Diego and once she gets close to him...talk about sparks! Ms. McBride writes about the build-up of the relationship so well I felt like I was part of it.
If you're wanting a book that's loaded with heart and heat, you need to read this book. It's going on my keeper shelf.
Anyone familiar with Joey W. Hill’s Vampire Queen Series will relish this newest installment. In Vampire Instinct we are introduced to a different kind of hero. Malachi is a vampire who has been turned, not born, and is Native American. For the most part he stays away from the vampire world, remaining at his sanctuary for feline predators. So when vampire Lady Daniela asks for his help in rehabilitating feral vampire children, he isn’t certain he is up to the task. Enter Elisa; Daniela’s servant and a woman who has lost much at the hands of the children in her care. Mal and Elisa don’t appear to have much in common, but as past tragedies are revealed they discover they need each other far more than they realize.
As with Ms. Hill’s previous books, Vampire Instinct is impossible to put down. The characters come to life on the page, becoming living, breathing people. Malachi is extremely sexy as a vampire who resists his darker compulsions, while Elisa is the perfect heroine to test him at every turn and peel away the layers to reveal the man beneath the tough façade. There is heartbreak, there is love, and there is so much emotion in this novel it’s impossible to formulate into words. It’s difficult to reveal too much about Elisa and Mal for fear of ruining the story. However, it is safe to say Mal learns to master the fragile and traumatized Elisa in the same cautious fashion he approaches her vampire charges. Although the heat and chemistry between the protagonists is off the charts, it’s the deeper emotional connection that will bring readers back to this book when they want a tear-jerker read.
Vampire Instinct is an absolute must buy for those who enjoy thoroughly developed characters, a soul-deep emotional journey, and the perfect amount of BDSM.
In the mood for some zesty cowboy love? Then it’s time to read Lorelei James. Chasin’ Eight, book eleven in the Rough Riders Series, provides everything a reader needs and more: an alpha hero, a feisty heroine, and enough sexual tension to keep you turning the pages.
Chase is an absolute delight. After screwing things up, he’s taking a break and has sworn off women for a month. Too bad he’s about to meet Ava, an out of work actress who has decided to go on the lam and reconnect with what she wants out of life. No sex when a sexy vixen wants to wrangle in the sheets? Not fun, especially when she’s determined to land the sexy cowboy in the sack as soon as possible. Sharp dialogue, steamy scenes, and situations that will have you laughing out loud make this book a sure fire winner.
If you’ve never experienced the work of Ms. James, now is a perfect time to do so. The books don’t have to be read in order, although it definitely helps the reader connect to the characters and achieve a better understanding of them. The cowboys are sexy as hell, the heroines will make you laugh and cry, and the stories are impossible to put down or forget.
Thank you, Ms. James, for another enjoyable, and memorable, read.
Imagine what you can do with a little rope, a little ingenuity, and a lot of time...
This is my first book by Delphine Dryden, but it won't be my last. The writing flowed well and drew me in from page one. I wanted to get to know these characters and to really understand them. My understanding of rope play isn't as wide as it could be, but this book really opened my eyes--in a good way. There's an honesty and a trust in rope play--trust that the person won't go farther than the sub can stand and honesty in that in most cases the only barrier is the rope. I liked reading about it and seeing Eva's journey.
I have to admit, I thought the plot, based on the blurb, would be a lot more simple. I was pleasantly surprised and eager to finish the book. Drew is very much a dominant man. He's got to be in control, but when it comes to Eva, he's controlled AND totally aware of what she needs. Their connection really sizzled. Then there's Eva. She's a lot more complex than I'd figured and it worked well for the story. The twists at the end and the way she carried herself was great to read about.
Oh and the sex? Well, make sure you've got a fireproof screen. You'll be glad you did.
If you have a hankering for a hot read with a little rope for fun and satisfaction, read Tangled Truth. Four cherries, indeed.
When reading this book, keep a fire extinguisher nearby! Kaitlyn and Holden may set your computer on fire in this deliciously sexy novel. Kaitlyn is a S. E. (supernatural enforcer) and she has to bring in bad-boy Holden, a 300 year-old vampire. She ready to turn him over to magical magistrate, until she finds out she needs him in more ways than just one.
Ms. Anderson has crafted a sexy tale and just when I thought the action was over and true love would save the day, she dialed it up a notch and threw in a wrench on the machine. The chemistry between Kaitlyn and Holden is white hot and stays that way, and Holden is a super, sexy Alpha hero that is intent on having the powerful witch. But Kaitlyn isn’t sure the vampire has her best interests at heart and tries her hardest to steer clear, even though Holden isn’t a man you can say no to easily.
The characters in the book were well crafted and leapt off the page. Kaitlyn wasn’t perfect but she was a strong heroine and relatable. Holden ended up being more than just your two dimensional hero. While the sex was hot, it was a little tamer than her other books but still hot.
This book was highly enjoyable, especially with the sexy Alpha vampire. If you are looking for an erotic romance with a strong plot and super-hot sexual tension, Ms. Anderson has created a winner with this book and I can’t wait for her next story.
Chasing after things you can’t catch is for fools and dogs.
A fool is one thing Jade Douglas is not. She had given up on catching one of the Kelly boys a long time ago. Returning home after being gone for years to salvage what was left of her father’s horse ranch, the last thing she needs is to have to deal with is Nate, Brett, and Matt Kelly.
When Nate shows up at the ranch to help the vet check the horses, the embers of heat that have been smoking for fourteen years soon turn to flames and the teasing begins. When Nate heats up Jade’s blood, he leaves her high and dry -- basically telling her that if she wants one, she gets them all. Either singly or en masse, that it was up to her. However, the three brothers are not going to leave things to chance and the game of seduction begins.
As a horse lover and a lover of real men in my reading selections, the title of this book was the first thing that called to me. I just could not pass up the opportunity to find out what was between the cover of the book. Good horses, fast cars, and a green machine called Kermit were nothing compared to the "real men" Nate, Brett, and Matt had become, or the lengths they would go to, to show Jade just how deep their love for her went. The sexual heat in this story is enough to burn the motor up in a fan. However, what really made the book was the differences in the three brothers’ personalities and how they brought a different style to the sex scenes and the interaction between themselves and Jade.
This book was a hoot and full of laughter. I just love the play on words and the banter between the characters throughout the story. It was so good that just as soon as I got to the end I had to turn around and read it again. The characters’ personalities and feelings added fire to the heat between the heroine and the heroes. I was surprised that I didn’t see smoke come off the pages. For a debut novel it was full of mystery, action, and heat in a beautiful laid out plot, and I am eagerly waiting for the next tale by Ms. Cole.
Mari Carr has always written hot and sexy romance stories, with delightful characters and wonderful settings. With Black Jack, however, she has taken the heat level to stratospheric new levels.
Scoundrels is the most popular club of its kind. The people of Los Angeles come to experience the fetish shows, and the club regularly sells out each performance. When the male lead in the pirate fantasy calls in sick for the last performance, Emma convinces long time friend Jack to fill in for the night. As manager, Emma knows Jack will be perfect in the role. When the female lead begs off at the last minute, it’s too late to find a replacement, so with some trepidation, Emma is forced to assume the role of the captive of the pirate. What happens next shocks Emma and Jack, and life for the two of them will never be the same. Jack has always known he was a dominant, and has always longed for the perfect submissive to love. He and Emma and Travis have been friends since first grade, but Jack is shocked to discover that his friend Emma has been hiding a secret, one she wasn’t even aware of-she is perfect for Jack’s desires. When their performance at the fetish club awakens Emma’s submissive side, Jack discovers just how perfect they are together. Can Emma accept all of Jack’s desires? How can she show Jack what she wants, when he won’t take the time to listen? Will these two ever find out how Travis engineered their first performance?
With the combination of the pirate fantasy intermingled with the romance burgeoning between Jack and Emma in real life, things go past the boiling point quickly. There was one confusing spot in this, when Ms. Carr changes the club name, but it wasn’t enough to make me stop reading.
Emma Potter is a strong and independent woman, confident in her abilities and used to being in charge of her life. She has been best friends with Jack and Travis since they were all in grade school together. She manages the fetish club owned by her reclusive friend Travis with skill and success, making it the in place to be. A part of her has been fighting her attraction to Jack for most of her adult life, knowing she would never live up to his fantasies with her very vanilla love life. I enjoyed watching as Emma opened up to the possibilities before her.
Jack Carlysle is everything a woman could want: handsome, strong and loyal to his friends. He has been a bit in love with Emma for most of his life, but never thought she could accept his dominance in the bedroom. When that secret surfaces, Jack is torn between desire and fear-desire for the strong and feisty woman he has loved for years, and fear that his desires could push her away. I love that Jack was willing to curb some of his stronger desires to keep the woman he loves in his arms and in his bed, and loved his delight at discovering her hidden depths.
There is only one secondary character here, the reclusive third friend Travis, and he is a mystery man. I enjoyed watching him manipulate his two best friends into getting their hearts desire in each other, and I hope Ms. Carr will revisit the club to give us a look into the secrets he is guarding so closely. This is an intriguing look into fetish clubs and the BDSM lifestyle, told as only Mari Carr does, with lots of hot sex and passion flowing off the pages. One warning, this should be read with the air conditioner on high and plenty of ice at hand-and you might even save some ice for drinks.
Two men, a cock ring, and a semi-empty beach. You never know what might happen, but it's sure to be sexy.
I know when I open a book by Jaime Samms I am in for not only a great story, but a wicked sexy time. This book was no exception.
Garrett and Drew have such a connection...it's believable and oh, so hot. The writing is tight and drew me in right from the first word. Once I started, I couldn't put it down.
I have to admit, I read this book twice. There's a lot here. It might be a short story at a mere twenty-eight pages, but there is a lot of info and emotions. It wasn't a hardship at all to read it again. In fact, I read it more than once after that.
There's so much to Garrett that's not shown right away. I loved how Ms. Samms built the story through Drew's eyes. I felt it as Drew did and had my heart in my throat more than a couple times. As with any Jaime Samms book, the sex is hot and told well. It was as if I was right there.
If you want a short story that's got plenty of twists, turns and smoking sex in just a few pages, then you need to read New Linen. It's a great read.
Do I really mean that? Put your arms around yourself and hug? Or do I mean embrace who you are inside and out? And what does it have to do with a book by D.C. Juris?
I know when I grab a book by D.C. Juris the story will be anything but predictable and stale. I know I’m in for a good time, with sexy characters and unique plot twists and turns. This book is no exception. I have to admit, the cover, then the blurb drew me in. I had to know more about this story. I’m glad I did.
The writing flows and I certainly didn’t want the tale to end. There are things about both Keenan and Naro that might not be for the casual reader, but I couldn’t get enough. Neither man was exactly how I’d pegged them, but I completely felt for each. Naro’s situation isn’t something a lot of people have been through, but the way Juris writes it, I could completely relate. I felt the confusion, the need, and the excitement as if they were my own.
This book drew me in and held tight till the last page.
If you’re looking for a short, sexy read that’s fresh and unique, this is the book for you.
Slightly geeky and extremely sexy Spencer Galvin has a problem named Kelly Crossman. His attraction to his employee makes him want to break all his personal rules about inter-office relationships. He resists her, even after catching her in a hot solo session in his office, until a chance meeting at a sex club turns into a night where passion rules.
This book is chock-full of passionate love scenes that move the plot forward, although the missing PDA was more of a distraction for the reader than a true plot device to drive conflict into their relationship. While Spencer and Kelly have some of the hottest chemistry I’ve seen on paper, especially in the sex club scenes, their conflict-laden relationship made me wonder if they could really have a happy ending.
This book is the second in the series. Some scenes run concurrently to that book (the club being shut down by the police) but both female main characters aren’t in the scene together. While I highly recommend picking up the other book, it isn’t absolutely necessary for maximum enjoyment.
With scorching love scenes and a sweet HFN ending for this couple, Ms. Quinn has another winner with Provoke Me
Sex, revenge style, isn’t what it’s cracked up to be when it’s hurting them both at the same time. Thing is, both the hero and heroine are prone to stubbornness. What is it going to take for them to reveal what is in their hearts?
Well, first the hero, Arles, has to capture the heroine. Once he does that, Gisel, the heroine, is at his mercy. But she doesn’t want mercy from him physically, but emotionally and that might be asking too much. Seems there’s a history between them that isn’t what either of them thought but they have to play things out in order for them to come to the same conclusion.
I found it interesting that the author chose to mix Viking folklore in outer space. It gave it an exotic but relatable flavor that made the story appealing and clever. I liked Ms. Knight’s version of the paparazzi and it’s just as annoying there as it is here, perhaps more so.
I liked the mini drama that the author included to force the hand of the hero. In fact, Gisel came out looking more like royal material than Arles, in spite of his attributes. I enjoyed the realization that Ragnar, Arles’s dad, recognized how good they were together and how he actually knew the whole story before any of them. It made Arles look a might silly because of his all powerful alpha attitude. Daddy still knows best.
Ms. Knight has a deft hand when it comes to crafting sexual hijinks and this book pushes the envelope just a bit. I wasn’t too comfortable with Gisel’s accepting of the deal or her acquiescence to being treated the way Arles treated her. I understand the reason given but I didn’t acknowledge it as being reason enough. The heroine’s liking it while simultaneously expressing emotional anguish didn’t make it work for me. Nor did Arles give her a safe word, therefore, it came across as forced seduction. I found the fetish tools unique and fascinating because the author gave them otherworldly panache and function. The scenes were written well, with enough heat to appeal to BDSM fans and there was a satisfactory happily ever after that read like a true prince and princess fairy tale.
Chain of Kisses is a short shot of sexual loving that leads to truth, happiness and kinky jewelry. It’s a fun read that encapsulated what sci-fi romance readers on the fetish side look for when time is short but the yen is there for something romantic, daring, a bit suspenseful yet ends with a happy sigh. This short story has it all and is a zippy way to pass the time.
Aria has always kept her longings a secret. That was until she discovered a card hidden in her box. A card that mysteriously appears to those who need it. When she calls the number on the card she finds herself immersed in the world she longs for. In this world she finds Mac who may be the man she has been dreaming of all these years.
I loved Aria right from the beginning. She is such a strong woman but longs to let go in the bedroom. Finding the card gives her a way to do just that. I enjoyed seeing all of her misconceptions of the BDSM lifestyle corrected as she lets herself go. Watching Aria let loose and enjoy herself with Mac was a wonderful read. Mac is a good man and a great Dom who understands what Aria needs and wants. Seeing the bond between the two begin to blossom was a nice read. The love that the two feel shines through everything that they do.
This story has an easy flow to it that pulled me right along with Aria into its world and shows how wonderful letting go can be. The connection that Aria and Mac made was a beautiful thing. This author did a great job of bringing the characters to life. I would love to visit with Aria and Mac again to see what they do next.
This was a wonderful installment in the 1-800 Dom Help series and if you are enjoying this series you will not be disappointed. I know that I will certainly be on the look out for more from this author in the future.
Everyone has some type of obsession in their life whether it be the pursuit of a secret fantasy, or something we experience that creates the obsession that always pulses just under the surface. An anthology about obsession is perfect for readers who need or want to feel that they're not alone in their compulsions. This book covers it.
Silent Treatment by Donna George Storey
This story makes it evident that you do not need a voice to be heard. It was a good tale to begin the anthology but the obsession wasn't altogether clear. I did enjoy the anonymity of the heroine because it added a mystery to the story. It also allowed me to interpret the heroine the way I would picture her. .Based on the writing, I wasn't restricted to how the author wanted me to view her heroine.
One Night in Paris by Kayla Perrin
This story showed and even demonstrated the theme of obsession perfectly. I was completely enthralled with the storyline from beginning to end. Not only was Vivian’s obsession with her boss explored, but the author delved into her obsession with the fantasy itself. And let's face it, we all love a good fantasy now and then.
Concubine by Portia Da Costa
Even though it got of to a slow start, this story had a very interesting ending. I liked the whole "story within a story" aspect of Concubine. Additionally, these characters connected on a deeper level than the previous tales. It created a nice little romantic feeling to it.
Love and Demotion by Logan Belle
This story was all about raw animalistic sexual urges. Cat is tame during the day, but a sex kitten at night. At this point in the anthology, Love and Demotion was my favorite story. It revisited the secret obsession of sleeping with your boss. The author added a twist to the storyline that really entertained me.
Mephisto Waltz by Justine Elyot This installment was entertaining, especially the way the author used music to build up and develop the relationship. While I am not a classical music fan, I could appreciate the correlation between emotionally connecting a good piece of music to a good piece of man candy. In the end, Lily gets to thoroughly enjoy both.
Then by Emerald
This was by far the most erotic story within the anthology. Valerie may love Chris, but her body sure wants a taste of Hayden. The reality is, even while people are in a monogamous relationship, everyones eye wanders occasionally. We cannot help but appreciate an attractive man. What's worse for the heroine,Valerie, is this attractive man is constantly being thrown in her face. The sensual tension escalates because she can't touch him ...or can she?
It’s Gotta Be Fate by Jennifer Peters This story was not only interesting but it set itself apart from the others because of its uniqueness. It encompassed a BDSM theme with an titillating twist. Occasionally, submissives need to know what it is like to dominate someone. By the same token Doms need to experience the feel of someone else’s ties around their wrists. In this story, I get exactly that. What was better, was the hint at maybe a new beginning. This was a light BDSM story, but be prepared because it's emotionally charged.
Hooked by Ariel Graham This tale was a bit puzzling to me. One thing that really made it difficult was the characters names being Ricki and Jody. Since both names are interchangeable between males and females, I kept forgetting who the boyfriend was and who the girlfriend was. In spite of that, I really enjoyed Ricki’s obsession. Add in the hook and I had a story that truly captured the theme of obsession. However, I would have liked to have actually seen the obsession be fulfilled in the final scene of the story. Ms. Graham needs to do a sequel.
Aftershocks by Bella Andre
Some relationships need a little jolt to get back in track. The lack of communication displayed by Celeste and Darren is a trap many marriages fall in. They are so afraid of each other’s reaction they fail to realize they both want the same thing. This highly erotic BDSM story was inspirational in more than one way. Secret Places by Adele Haze Until we fully trust someone, many of us keep our secrets to ourselves. That is what this story was about. The only drawback about this tale is the author focused too much time and energy on Dan's music playing. It took away from the the relationship development. Because it is so short, the secret was discovered using a typical technique. but ultimately I did get to see Dan and Marian reach their happily ever after. Best of all for the protagonists, there were minimal secrets going forward.
Loser by Charlotte Stein
This story inspired mixed emotions, but in a good way. One moment I was completely awed by the fact that Mallory would even be attracted to Billy in the first place. The next thing that threw me was when Mallory talked about how good he was in the bedroom. I thought, "Wow,what a catch!" I am sure this is what the author was going for and she certainly succeeded in her goal. Now, I don't think I will ever again walk past an average person and think what a loser they are.
Here In Between by Kristina Wright
'Strange mysterious man finds stranded woman on the side of the road'. It certainly sounds more like the beginning of a horror movie than an erotic tale, doesn't it? Well, not only does that sentence begin this story, it also ignited something deep inside me. You know, the part that wants to be that damsel in distress who is rescued by the knight riding on a magnificent stallion? I just hope my knight is as sexy and charismatic as the hero is in this story.
Spellbound by Garnell Wallace This story touched me on a few emotional levels. I absolutely loved that the heroine, Kia, was able to find herself but it took her going to Haiti to do it. The nice twist was she found the love of her life while she was trying to connect with a part of herself her family denied. What I liked too was the heroine was put into a situation that was different. It inspired her to really look within for answers. What really spiced up the story were the hot erotic scenes. I'm being deliberately vague because it's a story worth reading.
Raven’s Flight by Andrea Dale
Forget the girl next door when you can have the sexy Celtic next door. Ciaran is the type of neighbor we all dream of; sexy, intelligent, and likes to walk around shirtless. I also enjoyed the link the tattoos played in Ciaran and the heroine's journey through life. I appreciate symbolism because I have always felt it adds a touch of depth to a story. The author effectively illustrated that with the use of the tattoos.
Raindrops and Rooftops by Elizabeth Coldwell This story was a bit more sexual and the focus on obsession was not as heavy as with the previous tales. I like that it added a little bit of lightness to the obsessive side of people. Another thing that intrigued me was Keeley going to New York in search of one thing and ended up finding something completely different. For a lot of people, the scenario plays out just like that in real life. We do not realize what we are looking for until we find it.
Topiary by K.D. Grace
At first, I was a bit confused on what the author of this story was talking about, but after a few chapters, I was able to figure it out. I have heard of vajazzling, but this takes pubic decorating to a completely new level. While this story did fully explore the obsession people can have regarding a woman's parts, I did not really connect with nor fully appreciate the relationship. It seemed as if Aden only cared about one part of heroine's anatomy, and not necessarily for her as a person.
I Want to Hold Your Hand by Rachel Kramer Bussel
This story was very romantic. All Shelly really wanted to do was reconnect with her husband. While it had a strong erotic element, the story left a warm and fuzzy feeling inside by the time I finished it. Ron was eventually revealed to be the perfect husband that all husbands should be.
Storm Surge by Teresa Noelle Roberts This story was a bit difficult for me to read. While if fully captured the obsession of the character, I just felt confused because the obsession almost trumped reality. Additionally, it was another story that I felt the couple did not really connect as deeply with each other as they could have. What came across instead was their total involvement with their mutual obsession.
Undercover Kink by Louisa Harte
This final tale was a great one to end this anthology. We all have some undercover kink somewhere buried inside, and Natalie, the heroine, had to fulfill the kink she has secretly obsessed about for a long time. What was even better is that it even fulfilled a few kinks I don't think even Natalie realized she had until that moment. It's the element of discovery that made it so worth it.
This entire anthology really displayed the many forms obsession can take. Though voluminous, this book has stories to match anyone’s needs or curiosity about obsession. Because there are so many different tales, surly everyone who reads this book will find something they love. I did.
In the mood for an erotic romance adventure with just a touch of emotion and light drama? Step into Alexa and Sebastian’s world for a pinpoint moment where two co-workers find out that they have more in common than the building they work in.
The speed that things happen in the beginning is perfect for a reader who is looking for instant gratification because those well written and steamy encounters are sure pleasers. For a reader like me who looks for that emotional connection that makes the plot have meaning and relevance, Ms. Church provided some light drama by introducing the skeletons in the closet.
Sebastian has a lot to lose and more to gain by putting his real self out there. It takes a strong man to take the steps he did because what he hopes to gain in the long run is greater than anything he’s strived for before. Alexa is worth the effort.
Alexa is a smart, ambitious and likeable heroine. She also has a hidden passion that has led to her to being hurt in the past. She notices Sebastian and isn’t afraid of acting on her feelings for him, to a point. It’s her past hurts that come to haunt her in the present that affords this tale a solid recommend.
I like a certain level of conflict in stories because it makes the characters stretch and grow, making the book more interesting. In The 18th Floor,, the protagonists are enjoyable because they are active participants, not cardboard-like and shallow -- only there for the sex. Ms. Church created a villain that truly was a jerk. In reality, the cops would have probably taken both of them into custody because of the actions of one of the characters, but then again, some states are a bit more tolerant about people who walk the line of vigilantism in defense of their loved ones. The author used it to good effect.
Except for getting Sebastian’s nemesis’ name wrong once, the editing was nearly flawless. The dialogue was well done and the temporary secondary characters enhanced the understanding of exactly what Sebastian needed and wanted from Alexa. Readers will find the exotic location titillating.
The 18th Floor provides pure sensual enjoyment for readers who appreciate the finer points of the BDSM lifestyle. Sebastian and Alexa are good together and I enjoyed reading their story. Ms. Church consistently writes seductive and interesting tales and readers can add this to the list.
Infidelity is devastating to all parties involved, but when someone feels as if they are forced to surprise a part of themselves, it can sometimes surface at any moment.
Jesse’s fiancé does not know that he has been hiding a dark secret about himself for years. To deny his need to be dominated would be to deny a part of himself, but Jesse knows that Adel would never understand this desire, especially if she knew that it was a man who forced Jess to his knees whenever possible.
While I do not think cheating is ever a answer to a problem, the story was written in a way that allowed me to realize that Jesse was just as much the victim of his love affair as his fiancé and Master Will. He has desires that he knew his Adele would not understand or accept and his male pride would not allow him to disappoint the woman he has loved for all of his adult life. Additionally, it was clear to me that he and Will where two kindred souls who found their way to one another.
This story was extremely sensual. The BDSM relationship may have been the beginning of the love affair, but it definitely was not the end. I absolutely loved the conflict between the “play” side of Will and Jesse’s relationship as well as the romantic side. I was happy to see that things did not just fall into place as it does in some other stories. This made the relationship more believable and that much more cherished in the end. This was a couple that I knew would stay together forever as long as they continued to develop their relationship together and remain open to one another.
Another Way has a very large BDSM aspect and touches on a few areas of the lifestyle. There is a scene where Will and Jesse bring others into the play, and while there is no sex involved there are these high arousal moments. Additionally, there are pain play scenes which, though done extremely tastefully, may be difficult for the squeamish to handle. Personally I enjoyed every moment of the BDSM portion of this story. I wish this had been a full length book because I think the author truly captured the trust and devotion that goes along with a BDSM relationship. I would have definitely read it.
I would recommend this story to anyone whom appreciates a good BDSM story that remains true to the lifestyle.
