Sometimes, after several books an author’s writing quality starts to decrease. That’s not the case with In the Den, by Sierra Cartwright. In this novel, book 6 of the Mastered series, Ms. Cartwright delivers a fascinating story that sucked me right in from page one.
Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to read the rest of the series before this one, but I highly recommend it as it’s nice to recognize some old characters and to get to know the mysterious owner of the Den, Damien Lowell, from the start.
The overall plot might not be innovative, but Cartwright’s writing is wonderful. The words flow easily, and as with earlier books I was seduced into the world she creates. Also, as I’ve mentioned in other reviews, she has a knack of teaching about the BDSM lifestyle through her books without detracting from the erotic, without making it seem like an actual lesson. Everything seems natural and the story rolls effortlessly.
Though In the Den is erotic beyond any words I could write here, what really makes it a great read is the love story between the characters. It was emotional, heady, full of unexpected little paths that left me wondering if they’d make in the end. After all, Damien was not falling for any girl. The woman to whom he had decided to dedicate all his affections was none other than the respected Domme Catrina Davidson.
Initially I was a bit hesitant about Catrina becoming a submissive. After all, she was a Domme, had been since forever and that made her awesome to my eyes. Nevertheless, this was also precisely why I was intrigued: How the hell was Damien going to bend her to his will? It would have definitely been very interesting to read if it had been done the other way, Catrina dominating Damien, but Ms. Cartwright still caught me up in the intricate romance that bloomed between these two.
And romance it was.
Damien is not only old-world manners, good looking, intelligent and wealthy. He’s seduction on two feet and he snuggles! He knows what he wants and he goes after it without hesitating, but when it comes to love, it was interesting to see a different side of Damien. I knew he was in love long before he figured it out.
Catrina is Damien’s equal in everything. More than once I found myself wondering what it would be like to be under her scrutinizing wide-eyed gaze. The path that Damien leads her into, was not easy to watch. More than once I found myself holding back tears with her, struggling with every step of wanting to submit but not quite getting there yet.
There is little more I can say about the sex: it is amazing, scorching, sizzling. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts (I’m still reliving that first kiss in my mind or the coffee table scene).
All in all, In The Den is a great novel, which I’ve already read twice and I know I will read again and again. ...more

The sizzling chemistry between Ellen and Aimee is not to be missed. Their personalities complement one another perfectly, and the spark between them is evident as soon as they meet. Ellen’s sexual innocence and Aimee’s world-weary demeanour blend together beautifully, especially when they take advantage of their strengths in the bedroom.
Ms. Kade has a smooth writing style that makes it hard for me to stop reading. Her descriptions of her character’s bodies, surroundings, and feelings are so colorful that it’s as if she’s packed a novel’s worth of experiences into a short story. She has a sharp eye for detail that works incredibly well in such a limited amount of space.
What really earned this tale it’s 5 star rating, though, was the witty, playful dialogue. I expected to read some hot scenes, but I never thought I’d be as amused as I was by how these characters express their personalities in everything they do and don’t say. I don’t know if Ms. Kade is planning to write a sequel, but I would be very interested in catching up with Aimee and Ellen again soon if there are any more adventures planned for them.
Exposing Ellen is the perfect tidbit for anyone in the mood for something short, sexy, and fun. It’s the kind of story I can see myself returning to over and over again. ...more
Full Moon is book #2 in the Second Chances series from the talented Mari Carr.
Carr is one of the few authors who never lets me down. I’m a big fan ofFull Moon is book #2 in the Second Chances series from the talented Mari Carr.
Carr is one of the few authors who never lets me down. I’m a big fan of all her books, and this one is no exception. A woman on the prowl…a sexy stud bartender…this story had the potential to go the gratuitous route. But it didn’t. Never one to disappoint, Carr delivered a beautiful love story that is filled with sensual love scenes, but without the gratuitousness that can be found in erotic novels. Don’t get me wrong….there is a lot of steam in this one. Full Moon is more than an ordinary erotic novel. The story flowed so smoothly, that I barely even noticed the heat level (it’s red hot by the way). Simply put…Carr delivered a meaningful story with this one, and that is what it takes to grab onto and hold my attention.
The story opens with Josie and her girl posse making their resolutions for the new year. Resolutions are the common thread that is the premise of the Second Chances series. It’s been two years since Josie’s gotten laid. Since her ex walked out on their marriage for some bimbo he met in a bar. Her first priority has been in providing a stable life for herself and her six year old son, Tommy. But you know…BOB won’t do it forever…and a girl’s gotta get her some eventually. So Josie’s resolution is her own personal bucket list – or her howl list – as she calls it. # 1 on the list is sex with a stranger, and the list gets hotter with each subsequent full moon. Josie girl hits pay dirt her first time out on the prowl, when she captures the attentions of Jake, the hunky barkeep who wants to fulfill all her full moon fantasies.
I was totally enthralled with Josie and Jake as a couple. They were perfect together. They just had to work through some issues, mostly Josie’s insecurities and her clinging ex. She had some trust issues, and an impressionable young son to consider, so I bought that it was hard for her to keep coming back to Jake for what she needed. She wanted to keep up her walls. I mostly liked that she put her sons security and peace of mind above her own desires.
I absolutely adored Jake. He was steady and dependable, and sinfully sexy. I liked that he wasn’t the usual alpha jerk that I sometimes love to hate. Jake was quite ingenious in his approach to winning the game. It was his persistence and his laid back persona that convinced me that he was the man to break down Josies defensive wall. He could give her everything she needed…hot sex…a strong shoulder…a lasting love.
Full Moon has a credible plot with believable characters that I could believe in. I wanted to get to know Josie and Jake, and thanks to the superb writing, I did. Yeah, Carr sold this story. She sold it with great writing and character development. The secondary characters were interesting as well, the sistah hood, Tommy and even the manipulative ex added depth to the story.
Full Moon is a sexy and fun read, and I enthusiastically recommend it as Mari Carr at her best.

Stuart lost his love, and thought that he was going to die. He was physically ill and heartbroken. Tom loves Stuart, but after Stuart’s second chance at love he is still not ready for a second chance at love. Age difference also plays a part in Stuart’s decision.
Chosen by Pelaam This is a nice dark Gothic tale. I actually wanted the Vampire Dragomir to get his love. When his love is not ready to embrace the life a vampire, he gets used as a pawn to destroy Dragomir. I really liked the Vampire world that Pelaam created, and I want to go back. Alexandru is innocent and young, which is the case for many vampire victims. However the attraction and love that Alexandru feels proves that he is not a victim at all. I liked the dark and frightening aspect of this story! I cannot wait for sequels, or a longer look into Pelaam’s imagination.
Smoke Break by Allison Cassatta What would you do if you saw an attractive man enjoying himself? I know what I would do! That is what Daryl does when he sees Charlie after their brief encounter. This is a hot, steamy, short and arousing story! You’ll need a cold shower after this one.
Watching for Love by Sara York This is a sexy look into Mac, a man who cannot stop watching the man he loves: Ryan. He is afraid to talk to him, so he uses voyeurism as his only release. Ryan is not afraid and finally decides to call Mac on his behavior. Ryan uses dominance to teach Mac a lesson, and the lesson he learns is that he loves Ryan even more than he thought. If you fantasize about voyeurism, and brief dominance, then you will love this story.
Far from Home by Serena Yates I think that two men who want to be left alone make the perfect match! When Luca gets rejected from his family for being gay he has no choice but to live alone. On his adventure he finds a wounded dog. The dog’s owner finds him just in time to accuse him of hurting the dog. After a trip to the Vet, and after Jonathan realizes that he was wrong in his assumption there is an apology. Along with Jonathan apologizing he offers Luca to spend the night. Luca falls for Jonathan’s plan, and a night turns into a lifetime of true love.
Lord Godiva’s Pony Training by S.A. Garcia Would you help your lover live out his fantasy? Matt’s lover does when he comes home early to catch Matt engaging in Pony Play. This older couple definitely loves each other enough to live out each other’s fantasies. Matt made a great story teller and was indeed funny. There were a few times I found myself laughing and smiling. I learned something, love a good fantasy and laughed all at the same time!
A Return to Normalcy by Anel Viz This is a story about a man that cares about everyone else but himself. He still eats dinner with his wife once a week while having a bipolar lover. This only confuses the family members more, especially his son. It is only after Patrick learns to take care of himself that the people in his life do as well. This leads to a happy coexistence for all of them. I liked the story and would not mind hearing more about the other characters.
Solitude Disrupted by Andy Slayde and Ali Wilde I didn’t know what to expect with 2 different authors. What I found was the touching story of how Heath opens up Quinn’s heart. Quinn is a shut in, and does not want to deal with anybody, especially not Heath. However as Heath uses his determination on Quinn a bond is made. They decide to let each other be and to live with each other. Before that truce can happen there is a lot of arguing and power plays, in and out of the bed. If I was stuck in Paradise with a hot man, I would find reasons to argue and make up too!
Leap of Faith by Lexi Ander A bachelor party gone wrong changes everything for Ben. It is only after he finds himself that he can let Dawson love him, like he thought his previous fiancé did.
Clean Monday by A.J. Llewellyn and D.J. Manly When you are at the end of your rope, and no one cares about you, what do you do? Aleczander decides there is nothing left for him. So he jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge. Only he survives, and discovers that people do care. Especially about him. He realizes that there are support groups. Then he finds Tommy. I believe in life. Death is never the answer and this book proves that point beautifully.
My Unintended by Faith Ashlin The grass is not always greener on the other side. This book to me was about sibling rivalry. Noah is living with Greg. However, when his parents change their will to leave their house to his sister with kids, he starts to think that he is missing something. It is only after he realizes that he is giving up more by leaving Greg does he learn what he truly wants.
Roadside Rescue by Nicole Dennis I would love to be rescued by a strange sexy man who invited me back to his house! Especially if he is a Deputy! He must have handcuffs! This story was fun to read and the ending of this one alone was worth buying this whole book!
Unmasked by Patricia Logan This story had everything, sexy men, BDSM, love and trust. Byron becomes Anthony’s slave, and he likes it. This story was written in a very steamy way! If you like reading about sex, than you will love this story.
Checkmate! By SammyJo Hunt I liked this story because I liked the idea of using chess as a sex game. I also enjoyed thinking about a hot lifeguard and how willing I would be to trap my king for my opponent. Chess is a mental game, and when the author mixed it with great sex scenes I was hooked.
Overall I am giving this book a 4 because I didn’t like that very few people accepted their gay loved ones. I thought that this would be a better book if a few of the stories started with happy beginnings, too.

I have to say that I was impressed with the intricate web of deceit that was woven throughout the entire story.
It was the blurb that caught my attention. I wanted to know what devious things Jemima had done to inspire such cold indifference in her husband. The poor woman was just out of a coma after being mowed down by a speeding car. And here everyone was calling her a bad penny and treating her like crap.Threatening her very life. I was sure it would turn out to be a misunderstanding. Another classic story of a good woman done wrong…you know…the kind that draws me like a moth to a flame. But this writer threw me for a loop and changed the game around. Turns out Jemima wasn’t so innocent, and instead it was Giorgio who was wronged.
Ten years ago, Giorgio Giovanni was glad to see the back of his wife, Jemima. Now, she’s turned up again, the victim of a brutal hit and run, and claiming amnesia. He checks it out, and is skeptical of how much she has changed. Gone is the flamboyant woman he knew, leaving a fragile and broken one in her place. Seems that Jemima had been into some bad stuff that got her into a bad place. He didn’t know the extent of her betrayal but it all started to come out as more of her memory returned. It was a complicated plot, one that the writer brought together perfectly.
I liked Giorgio. I liked that he wanted to protect Jemima, even believing the things he did about her. He felt remorse because he never tried to find Jemima after she walked out of his life, and then those terrible things happened to her. Not to ruin the secret or anything, but he had ties to some very bad people. And he was shattered to discover the real instigator of those sordid events.
I even came to like Jemima in the end. She was no angel, for sure. But neither did she deserve what happened to her. She had some daddy issues, and was acting out to cover up the pain. And I felt that she really did love Giorgio, since she made a big sacrifice for him.The writer did redeem her character, just a tiny bit. My heart still broke for the heroine, just in a different way than I’d expected when starting the story.
I really enjoyed the story, the writing was flawless. The thing is…I like to be shown and not told. It’s a personal preference of mine. The writer showed the slow rebuilding of Giorgio and Jemima’s intimate relationship. She was a broken woman…in more ways than one. She wasn’t ready for the intimacies she and Giorgio had shared before. For instance, they both alluded to having enjoyed a BDSM relationship of sorts. I never really saw it, but the writer was obviously taking into consideration Jemima’s past. With the exception of an ill fated incidence with some scarves, and some vaguely mentioned toys and spankings, that was about as far as the story strayed into kinky town. The intimate scenes were steamy, don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed them very much. They seemed to be scripted more toward a rebuilding of the trust between Jemima and Giorgio. More romantic and sweet, and I did like that.
Anyway, I got my happy ending, and it was a fun ride to get there. The plot was engaging, and quite suspenseful. If you’re looking for a story that will pull at your heart strings then be sure to give this one a try.

There are twenty three poems and short stories that take eroticism and throw it to the winds, letting it fall wherever it may. These short pieces and pearls of poetry take in gay, straight, lesbian and everything in between and craft moving tales and thoughts that both arouse and make you think about what you are reading. To me, it was a love story; a gift to the reader that appreciates fine writing and not your typical episodes of BDSM.
The short works of fiction in this collection blew my mind. They are windows into worlds that some of us never imagine we could be a part of. Isn’t that the true gift of reading, or writing for that matter? The ability to read something and go somewhere far, far away from the screaming kids, the endless day at work, or doing the supper dishes. As an author, the greatest joy I have is in writing something that invokes that feeling, and Elissa Wald did just that. This book was one of the most engaging reads I have read in quite awhile. Think brilliant primary colors. Think carnival lights and swarthy men with tattoos. Think sex.
From the first story, The Initiation, where we meet Delilah, a budding submissive who struggles with the demons inside her, to the sexy Kim who isn’t quite sure what to make of Delilah’s fixation on pain. This story was gripping and visceral and I couldn’t put the book down, even to sleep. The second story installment is Ruby and the Bull. This is the story of Ruby and Judd. She calls him the Bull, and as the story unwinds, he has found her diary and is about to get a nasty shock when he reads it. Spicy, raw and undulating, this tale is gritty and on edge.
The third story in the collection is The Resolution. Full of the glitz and fading glitter of the big top, we meet Lottie, a runaway and Jorge, an outcast in the circus. Teased mercilessly for his gay status, Jorge is bitter and standoffish. When Lottie unknowingly insults him, it starts a winding path down a love that will last a lifetime. This story will bring tears to your eyes and a breath of longing to your heart.
Story number four, The Houseboy, is a major head trip and one that had me thinking about it even when I wasn’t reading it. Troy is a boy lost in a sea of high schoolers lost in the fray of his life. When the Sergeant comes to speak, he finds a role model and a curious object of affection. Writing letters and insinuating himself into the Sergeant’s life, lies and betrayals can unravel even the deepest of dreams.
Number five, Missing the Boat, is a ménage scenario that brings many elements to the scene. Dominance, submission and more entertain in this soul deep take on friendship and fascination when the tables get turned and lines begin to blur.
The sixth story, Turned Out, is a beautiful story about hope growing up from a bed of concrete. Nelson has just gotten out of prison and while he is happy, his senses are on overload. He misses the routine and security of the life inside and the domineering partnership he shared with The Axe, the male dominant he subbed to inside. This piece walks you through deep feelings and longings of the heart.
The last story, The Illustrating Man, is one that will stick in your mind long after you have read it. Sexy and as intricate as a well done tattoo, this story takes off when a female reporter finds out a childhood savior is wanted for murder. In a beautifully wound tale, the author shows you people that were affected by the artist’s insight and unique method of tattooing. It is sensual and one that scratches down into the deepest part of you and leaves a mark.
The poetry in this collection is also inspiring, spiritual and evocative.
If you are looking for a book that takes you into the souls of many unique and worthy characters, then you need to read this collection. Rich, lush and full of vibrant eroticism, this book is a keeper on my favorite shelf. You won’t forget any of the characters and how easily this author can slip into the minds of anyone and walk a mile in their shoes. The erotic portions are done very well and titillate the mind as well as the body.
For a collection that will have you dreaming carnival dreams of tattooed men, ladies that lust and of heartfelt loves that like life, do not always have a sparkling happily ever after, then you need to read this book.

Creighton Ashford is a handsome and very successful man. Rich and very popular with the ladies, he also carries a secret. He’s desperately in love with Sandra and is determined to make her his wife.
Although this is a self-published book, and one I normally wouldn’t have read, I’m glad I took the time. I liked the main characters very much, and although we rarely got glimpses of Cray’s point of view (which I would have liked), the love story between the two was believable and sensual. The author takes a miniature tour through Europe, and it was fun to read about places I’ve never been.
That said, there were a number of negatives. The biggest suggestion I’d have is to find a professional editor. There were a number of grammar issues, added or missing words and typos. A professional editor would go far in cutting those things out, as well as helping with the pacing. I enjoyed Trust Me, but it was far too long. I admit I began skimming some descriptions of rooms or unnecessary characters. I appreciate the author’s imagination, but it just slowed down the pace of the story. And while the sex was hot, there was just too much. After many scenes, it became gratuitous. I enjoy a deep conversation between a couple in love just as much as a hot sex scene.
One final point (which is what I was left with after days of reading): when I invest the amount of time it takes to read a story that’s almost 500 pages, I really would like an ending. To read “To Be Continued…” after all that was really frustrating. One of the cardinal rules of most romance publishers is a happily ever after or at least a happily for now ending.
All that considered, I made it to the end of this book because I did like the characters and hoped they’d make it. There is real potential in this story. The author has a very nice voice, and with a little work and sophistication, this could be a real winner.

Her mentor, Sara, sends her to Isaac who needs more than just a party planner in her eyes and Sara knows that Lucia fits the bill. When Lucia finds out just what kind of party Isaac is planning and what it may entail her to do she balks but promises to think things through over in the next few days. This once in a lifetime opportunity would be a shame to pass up. Can there be a connection with a vanilla girl like Lucia and a kinky man like Isaac? Has Sara’s matchmaking finally paid off?
This was a great introduction to the club called Wicked and the people associated with it. I adored Lucia. She is a strong willed woman who wants to make it in life and will stop at nothing to try and achieve her goals. Isaac is a wonderful man but he guards his heart because of the hurt in his past. Watching Lucia break down the walls Isaac has put up was a wonderful read. She loves with all her heart and enjoys life to the fullest, giving everything she has. Lucia is honest and loving which is something totally alien to Isaac and seeing him react to her made for a beautiful read. Emotions run high as the two try to figure out just where they stand. Isaac longs for what Lucia can give him but is afraid to let his guard down and he may lose her because of it.
Not only did the main characters shine, but the secondary characters endeared themselves to me, making me eager for the next book in this series. I loved seeing Isaac’s closest friends help to show him just what Lucia truly means to him. This hot read is also a beautiful romance that pulled me in from the start and kept me entertained all the way until the end.

I loved the premise of the story and the story overall. I enjoyed the paranormal elements to the story, as well.
Synn MacAllistair was trapped in time believing he brought the red death to the doorstep of the historical building that Rena is now trying to open a bed and breakfast in. Synn is driven to help the souls that were lost believing he doomed them. Synn is a very conflicted character. He has one goal and does not want anything to get in the way of that goal. Rena seems to be significant to Synn being able to set the ghosts free.
I found it unrealistic how Rena and Valerie had such a casual attitude toward the ghosts that appeared all over the property. I would have expected either Valerie of Rena to become upset some way. I also found it very unbelievable that it did not occur to anyone that Synn might be something paranormal. I also think Eric, the evil ghost, added little the overall story, nor was he a focus of the story. He was more of a pain.
What did I love? The chemistry between Synn and Rena! I loved the sex scenes between them. They were very hot and steamy. This is a true love story between them.
The happy ending in this story was absolutely perfect and completely unexpected. In fact, this story has many plot twists that kept me interested throughout. Overall, this was a great story.

Alexandra Beckmann, otherwise known as X, is in Italy with her friend Jessica working on her thesis. Choosing to write about the mob is probably not the safest subject matter, but being steeped in all of Italy’s essences, it stirs her blood. X and Jessica meet an enigmatic wealthy man at one of the corner cafes and he pays for their drinks and food. X is transfixed by the allure of the mysterious Marcus Roscarrick. Wealthy, hot and eligible, X pursues him only to be rebuffed. Feeling like a fool, she heads off and resumes work on her thesis. Wandering the environs of Italy’s darkest corners, Roscarrick saves her when she gets into a situation over her head. The game is on.
From the first page, this story grabbed my interest. Here was a girl in Italy studying the mob. Talk about poking a bear with a stick! As X gets in deeper, you get a tour of the best and worst that Italy has to offer, both in experiences and travel destinations. As she becomes involved with Marcus sexually, hidden dimensions about the man, his past and whether their relationship can possibly go any further glued me to my chair. Was he in the Italian mob? How did he garner his fortune? What was that about a dead wife with a whole lot of money that he inherited? Lots of questions kept me guessing and that wasn’t even the best part.
Marcus is a member of a Mystery Religion based out of a Dionysian tradition. It is secretive and dangerous and in order for X to see him, she has to be initiated into the society. Fearful and upset, X is repelled by the idea, but can’t stand the thought of being apart fromMarcus. The Mysteries are a series of rites performed in secret locations that involve ancient knowledge, sexual situations and drugs. Leading her into this hidden world, Marcus tries to protect her even as they both get deeper into the intricacies of the Italian mob and the web of violence and intrigue that comes with it.
The Story of X is a compelling read that takes smoking hot sex scenes and pairs them with a Mystery religion so that the two are intertwined. BDSM elements including voyeurism, drugged orgies, multiple partners, public spankings, nudity and whippings are all a part of the initiation process. Not to mention a special tattoo as well. Marcus is a conflicted character with a lot of personal history to deal with and X has to navigate some seriously shark infested waters if she is going to be with this smoking hot billionaire.
Overall, this book was such a different BDSM twist that it had me guessing the entire time. Part mystery, part erotic romance, this story was unique enough that I could not put it down. Everyone hears about the fun parts of Italy, but what about the slums and crime ridden parts? This author did a great job of letting me see the good, bad and ugly while still keeping me riveted to the passion between the characters and what was at stake if the initiation didn’t take place.
For a hot read with some biting dialog, nicely rounded characters and a tour of Italy that reads like the most interesting travel brochure ever, put this one on your reading list.
Rivka T’Shar is a Star Priestess whose mate had gone through The Purge leaving her unmated and angry at him because the Purge removed all emotion for an indefinite length of time. For this she could not forgive him, that was until she saw him again and her feelings came back.
Bastien D’Shar went through the Purge at age 17 blocking his emotions which would allow him to excel in his role as the protector of his people. He chose to do so because he knew it was his destiny as a D’Shar to protect even if it meant not having a mate. Now many years later, General D’Shar watches Rivka realizing that she is his mate and that The Purge is fading.
This is the second book in the D’Shar Men series. The first book, The Wanting, dealt with Bastien’s older brother Phelan D’Shar and his mate Zasha. The Unveiling can be read as a standalone, but not having read the first book I had to piece together some of the references made. I finally did read The Wanting and everything made sense, so I would suggest that before reading The Unveiling you read The Wanting.
That being said, The Unveiling is a good story, one where the author Shyla Colt created a world of supernatural beings learning to live among humans on earth after their world was destroyed. The characters were richly developed and the romance and love between them was intense. Of course like in all good fantasy adventures there is a bad guy Tavel who wants to conquer and control all that the D’Shar men are trying to protect. Even with this character you could see some moments of humanity mixed in with the madness.
I thoroughly enjoyed Bastien and Rivka together, their chemistry both In and out of the bedroom was enchanting. Shyla Colt made sure to weave in the relationships between the four D’Shar brothers giving you insight into what makes them tick so that the reader could look forward to the next books in this series. I would definitely recommend this series, my only complaint would be that at times it got a little wordy but this reader’s interest never waned. Hopefully you will pick up both books and enjoy the series and this reader looks forward to the next book....more
Magical! And Hot! And Sweet! Sol and the Magic Fingers had me enraptured from page one. Like with many good short stories, it would have been fabulous to know more. It would have been great to delve more into the characters and especially into the history of the genie, but Sol and the Magic Fingers is also perfect the way it is.
In little less than 30 pages, the author provides a quick short romance and erotic fix that didn’t leave me hanging in any way. The story flows easily, from a captivating beginning to a romantic and sizzling middle to a magical end. There were moments where I was squirming in my seat and moments were my heart was breaking for the characters. Characters that were well built for such a short space. Karen is easily identifiable with through her insecurities and loneliness whilst Sol is plain dreamy.
Well written, the sizzling sexual scenes play a major role in this erotic romance and they alter from scorching (loved the shower scene) to sweet.
Overall, Ms. Doris O’ Connor’s short story is an enjoyable read for any given moment of the day. I was only left with one question: where can I find one of those e-readers?...more

Nice girls like Sara don’t really want guys like him and besides she’s his best friend’s little sister, so just being there for her like a big brother is for the best. Or is it? Sara is Mac’s wildest dream and worst nightmare combined, especially after she takes off and he’s left with no choice but to go after her. Mac knows that Sara always gets what she wants and everyone treats her like a princess, but this time he may have to teach her a lesson she won’t soon forget. It’s time to shock her into admitting they aren’t a good fit for each other and push her boundaries so she’ll push him away. The only way to do that is to take her home and let her experience a different kind of living. But is it enough scare away “princess” Sara or will she finally find what she never knew she wanted and is Mac willing to live with the consequences.
When it came time for Mac to own up to his lustful feelings for Sara, he flirted toward the lines of exhibitionism and BDSM, but never took it to that next level, which was slightly disappointing. I was prepared for it, but the story turned out to be much tamer than I thought it would be. Still there was excellent usage of a pink fur wedge and some cotton candy flavored body powder to keep things fun and interesting, so Mac’s experienced self wasn’t a total loss and Sara’s inexperienced self was satisfied.
I was happily surprised with the turn of events in this story and series for that matter, and how the author takes two unlikely matched characters and makes them likely. It is sort of an opposites attract situation, but the love was already there courtesy of Mac being Sam’s best friend especially during Sara’s formative years. So Mac and Sara had their hearts in the right place and now just needed to work on getting their minds and bodies to follow. If you’ve read previous Bradford siblings installments then you know feelings of humor, anger, lust, love and guilt are bound to ensue, which creates a sort of realism that’s easy to relate to in drama-filled family/friends situations. As in real life, change is inevitable and some of us take it as it comes and some are a little more stubborn to accept and in this story between Mac and Sara, it’s very prevalent, but their journey through compromise is full of surprises and should definitely not be missed....more
If you were going to go to an island vacation hotspot in the form of a spicy novel, then this book would be your destination.
Trust Me centers around three men who run an island resort. Two of them are the central characters in this hot read. At a wedding for Kira and Gabe, Alec meets the sexy Brooke, who just happens to be Gabe’s editor. The two light up enough sparks between them for a Fourth of July picnic. When the two head off for a quickie, neither one will ever be the same again.
The other main character in this tale is Will. He meets Angel on a phone sex line and is hooked by her stammering and nervous voice. The two hit it off and soon are doing much more than talking. These two give a new meaning to the term phone sex. Both give as good as they get and the exchange of lust is equal on both ends.
The two stories intertwine and I was turning the pages of my e-reader faster than ever to find out what happens. After Brooke goes back to the mainland, she remembers the hot night she had with Alec and goes to a sex club with a guy she is dating. This has some terrible consequences and when she sees Alec again, they raise their ugly head.
Will and Angel have a unique phone relationship that blossoms into real love across the wires. When Angel has to make a choice with her work that could compromise her safety, Will gets involved. Her knight in shining armor, he saves the woman he loves from a situation that could have really hurt her and takes her off to his island paradise.
Trust Me has a unique blend of lust and characters that you can fall in love with. Each one is crafted carefully and you can really feel the emotions and sexiness ooze off the page. Hot read!
Love on the beach without sand in my shorts. That is the perfect vacation. This read was lusty and full of good times. There was a description of rape that could be a trigger for some. Other than that, the wild parties and hot group sex was right up there and smokin hot the whole way through. BJ Ware knows how to turn up the heat and light my fire every time.
Sometimes fate steps in to give us what we need to be happy and not always what we want in life and at the end of the day we are better for it. ‘Embracing My Submission’ is the first book in the Doms of Genesis by Jenna Jacob. This book takes the reader through a range of emotions.
Julianna is a submissive looking for a Dom. She works as a CPA during the day and is a submissive that goes by the name of Emerald at night. Her first Dom hurt her. I spent most of the book feeling sorry for Julianna and annoyed with those around her. Julianna is unclaimed after four years and it’s no wonder that she had self-esteem issues. I wondered why she hung on so long. I also wondered about her so called friends. I find it hard to believe that they did not notice her self-esteem issues or where they so self-absorbed that they did not care. Julianna was under the protection of Drake while at the club. I wonder if Drake kept other Doms away on purpose.
Mika is the owner of Genesis. His first wife died from cancer. In the beginning Mika thought that Doms could only love one slave. Mika got the shock of a life time when Julianna walked into the club. Julianna was the spitting image of Mika’s dead wife. Mika has the air of mystery about him. I loved this character but was frustrated at the same time by some of the things he pulled. I do not like people that do not try to have a conversation with someone before trying to teach them a lesson. It comes across as childish without the conversation.
The author did a wonderful job with sex scenes. They were hot and steamy. There was such chemistry between Mika and Julianna. It was apparent in and out the bedroom. It’s apparent the author did a lot of research in the BDSM lifestyle.
This book sucks you in and does not let you go until the very end. It takes you through a range of emotions. While I have not read Jenna Jacobs before, I cannot wait to read more from this author.
When a cop decides you’ve been a bad girl, you’ve got to take your punishment!
Lilly is riding with cop Jake as part of her internship. On the last of their three days riding together there is an incident in a house and she, despite it being against the rules, follows him into the property. He’s unhurt, but furious that she put herself at risk and all those heated emotions soon turn to her agreeing to letting him dominate her in return for his not telling her superiors. But it’s okay, she’s been eyeing up his sexy body for days, she’s happy to get sweaty and dirty with him, hardly a punishment!
Riding with the Cop is hot and short, the situation the characters find themselves in is unique and risky. I liked how the author threw in some of the back story, so I knew there had been sexual tension simmering, and as a reader it was great to be there for the climax! There was a little twist too, which I enjoyed.
It could be longer, but only the characters’ story. This particular scene would have made a nice middle or end to a story but I knew it was just a quickie when I started reading it, so that’s not a complaint, if any thing it proves I enjoyed it. I’d be interested in reading some of the other books in this series. The author has a snappy, fast-paced voice with good dialogue between Jake and Lilly and the sex was smoldering hot – well, it’s going to be when a cop decides to use handcuffs to harness a girl to the bed – oh yeah!
A good, quick read, that whisked me away to a steamy fantasy. Definitely enjoyable with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and yes, I will no doubt flush next time I see a cop swinging his cuffs!
This is the third installment in the Planetary Submissive’s series by Amber Kell, and I fell in love with Zall in the first book. I waited anxiously for his story and Ms. Kell gives him a great addition to the series. Zall is a former slave and doesn’t want to submit to anyone again, but the only way he can be with Captain Danner Teslan is to be his property as his cabin boy.
The subplot of the smugglers in this story is a great backdrop to Zall and Danner dancing around each other while trying to figure out their relationship. Seeing Zall open up and the way he fits into the crew of the ship, just shows how much he was undervalued as a slave. Captain Teslan is an interesting character, since he’s so in control in his professional life in order to be one of the youngest ship captains in the military. The way he let go when with Zall adds the right amount of spice to their relationship. The sex scenes are hot and touching all at once. This is a novella so my biggest complaint is the same complaint I have with all of Ms. Kell’s stories, they are just too short. She does an amazing job with the few words a novella leaves her and the emotion is clearly there that you still care about these characters.
This can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading at least the first book in this series first so that you understand Zall and what shaped him as a character. I love this series, and I would gladly read this book again. The sex is hot, the action is fast, and the story is a great read!
Anna’s sex life is non-existent. Bemoaning her lack of spice and activity at a girls night out, a quiet friend, Evangeline, pulled her aside and hands her the email address for Mr. Satisfaction Guaranteed. With a few cryptic comments from Evangeline, Anna’s curious and definitely interested. Intense questions, emails and a few medical tests later and she finds herself heading into a hotel room, ready to meet her gigolo, feeling equal parts nervous and excited.
While I didn’t find the BDSM in this short story over the top, it was quite intense. Spanking, flogging and nipple clamps are all played out to the delicious excitement of Anna and her partner. I found the writing tasteful and the situations well handled. At no point was the bondage demeaning or poorly handled. It was clear to me that her man cares deeply for Anna. He went to great pains to fulfill her fantasies and keep her satisfied – and she was more than willing all the way through. There was an interesting twist to the plot that I found delightful which helped keep this reader invested not only in the characters, but in the situation they were in. When I finished the story I actually went immediately back and re-read the whole thing again, picking up small hints and clues. An immediate re-read is pretty much the best recommendation I could ever hope to give!
Best of all, this short story is written in such a way to leave the author open to other tales, and I’d certainly be willing to read more. Satisfaction really is Guaranteed!
What the heck do you do when a notorious sadist wants you as his sexy new project?
Touched by a Dom is the story of Trisha and Kyle and their BDSM relationship. Trisha is taken to Club El Diablo by her friend (a submissive) Gloria who wants to liven up Trisha’s life. Almost instantly Trisha attracts the attention of Kyle, a gorgeous hunk who enjoys inflicting so much pain that only the hardest core submissives can cope with his particular brand of punishment. She soon agrees to let him show her what BDSM is all about, he promises to respect and protect her and not push her boundaries further than she is ready for. There is a good twist to the story that I wasn’t expecting but I won’t divulge it here. That would be a spoiler!
This was my first book in the Club El Diablo series. I enjoyed it. The characters were likeable, though Kyle was a bit full on at times. The club scenes, although extreme were believable.
It starts off with lots of information about the club, all the rules and regulations, which is necessary I suppose, and Gloria showing a shocked Trisha around. Enter Kyle. Almost immediately Trisha is dry humping his leg as he devours her mouth, soon she orgasms, her first climax ever with a man. Damn the guy must be seriously hot! Who can blame her then when he offers her more orgasms? The story takes off and the sexy scenes will have steam coming from your ereader.
I liked the secondary characters and I’m sure they slot in well to the series. There were a few editing issues, and the writing although vibrant and vivid could be more polished. I liked the dialogue between Kyle and Trisha, it moved the story forward well, and the twist I really hadn’t seen coming. Trisha handled it well.
A good BDSM romance, felt like a longer read because a lot goes on which is always a bonus. The pace is snappy and the end result gave me a good feeling. I’m not sure I would rush to read the others in the series, but I did enjoy Touched by a Dom.
The Romance Novel Book Club is a gem. Absolutely hilarious, I laughed from page one to the end. Kastil Eavenshade is a romance author but she manages to poke fun at everything that has to do with the genre and does it well. As the book says at one point: “The truth about the romance novels was I did love them. They mocked me in my misery, but I still cheered for that happily ever after.”
The author also laughs about life and how confusing and difficult we can make it for ourselves at times.
Her lead character, Patricia, is great. She eats all she wants, drinks too much and laughs at herself, sometimes even through her tears. She is so human that along with her good moments, her pain, frustration and confusion are palpable. I felt miserable at times watching her crumble and sabotage her own happiness.
The biggest fault I found with The Romance Novel Book Club was a mistake in the hero’s height. At the beginning of the book, Patricia says: “I hovered about two inches taller than him without heels”. However, as I read on I found that she was always shorter or at least at the same height as Matt. For instance at one point it reads: “I nuzzled against his shoulder, tempted to kick off my shoes to be at his breast.” She was wearing heels at that moment.
Another thing I found confusing was her history with The Black Room and her access to it. I had the impression she went one time without a membership card and another time she had trouble finding it when she’d just been there less than a week before.
Regardless of these mistakes, Kastil Eavenshade’s novel was a great read. The sex scenes were sizzling hot at all times with well done descriptions that made me gasp and pant. Furthermore, throughout the story I had the sensation that I was reading a contemporary novel in which real people, and not just made up characters, had the lead role.
The Romance Novel Book Club was a great book that I know I will be reading again.
If I had picked up this story wanting a long and torrid love affair in which I could contemplate how the characters fell for each other page after page, I would have been sorely disappointed. As it is, I wasn’t. Overnight Sensation is a short story that delivers what the title implies: a sizzling tale that takes place over one night.
From page one, Desiree Holt’s characters stand out. Abbie is a super sweet, slightly inexperienced sub looking for something more. Sam is an experienced Dom also searching for something different. The way they interacted and the time they spent together is a combination between sweet and extremely hot.
The only reservations I initially had with this tale was how Abbie and Sam were going to fall in love in such a short span of time. The author attempts to mend this by throwing in words like fate or karma. However, what really solved my qualms was a simple explanation offered by the characters. At one point, Abbie mentions what I had been thinking, how could they be falling so fast if they had just met? Sam answers: “Sometimes that’s all it takes.” Followed by “Then, we’ll see.” Knowing that yes, they had a connection but they would also see where it was going to take them in the future made the story much more believable than simply attributing things to fate.
The story flows easily, sexy moments (I loved the meeting scene at the crowded bar) mingling with Abbie’s musings or Sam’s thoughts, both point of views kept clear and separate. The sex scenes were scorching and vividly described.
Overnight Sensation is worth reading if looking for something quick, steamy and sweet at the same time....more
I’m the first to admit that I absolutely love the Harmless Series by Melissa Schroeder, and the newest addition, A Little Harmless Fantasy, does not disappoint. From the first word I was drawn in, there was just something about Rory, Zeke and Maura that just worked. I love bisexual men, much like Maura does, and these two Irishmen are drool worthy.
This is a MMF ménage, which means the men play with one another alone and with Maura and every scene was explosively hot. The three of them are believable as a trio, Zeke loves them both and Rory and Maura love Zeke and watching Rory and Maura fall in love was very enjoyable. Most of Ms. Schroeder’s Harmless books catch up with past characters and this one is no different. The relationship between Maura and her brother is portrayed in such a way that I wanted a protective older brother who loves me that much. No Harmless book is complete without a trip to the Hawaiian BDSM club known as Rough N Ready, and while there was no play at the club, it was great to catch up on old characters. The BDSM aspects of this book just add to the spicy sex scenes.
There were times when I wanted to smack the characters and yell at them to talk to each other, but I see that as a plus to the story, since I cared enough to want to help them. The characters are strong, the story is well fleshed out and the descriptions make me want to book a trip to Hawaii immediately to visit all the places that are described.
This is the eighth installment of the Harmlessseries, the first ménage in the series, and while I did enjoy catching up on the other characters, I would say that this book could be read as a stand alone. I do thoroughly recommend this whole series. Bisexual men and BDSM made this book a must read, so don’t hesitate to try this book....more
This is the fourth book in the Masters of Submission series by Jan Bowles, and the first one in the series I’ve read.
Beth Beaumont is an experienced submissive when she meets one of the owners of Club Submission Ethan Strong. I loved that Beth was experienced; it was refreshing to have someone who knew what they were getting into. It was especially important because Ethan is a very dominant Dom, and even has a different persona when dealing with serious transgressions.
Ethan Strong is a Dom, one I’d love to meet. He seemed to really know what he was doing and really care for Beth. The sex scenes in this story were well written, and believable. I could see Beth easily falling in love with Ethan, and trusting him.
The secrets that Beth keeps add an extra interesting layer to this story. The plot around the secrets was handled well, and added a nice level of suspense to the story. I wasn’t expecting that going in, but it was nice to read something that wasn’t just about the sex. The sex scenes were plentiful and hot.
The idea of the Inquisitor’s Chamber was great, and handled well for the most part. There was only one scene in this book, which made me step back and wonder what I was reading. I’m not a fan of breath play and while it wasn’t as extreme as I’ve seen, it did pull me out of the story.
Still, I will read the rest in the series. I enjoyed Ethan and Beth’s story. I would love to read Ethan’s brother Matthew’s story. Give the story a try, it was an enjoyable read....more
Clancy is a hardworking cowboy who likes to play as hard as he works. Tess isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty either, whether it be out in the barn or in the bedroom. Their antics let me know that this couple would have their ups and downs but they would always work it out in the kinkiest of ways.
Clancy is a character I can see a bit of in most men. He fails to recognize the man he is and instead focuses on the man he doesn’t want to be. That is why it was easy for me to recognize immediately how much he truly needed Tess to show him the man all of her friends have come to love. He seems so put together to the outside world, but he really hid a broken man inside which made him seem real to me, and which made me like him even more.
Tess too has suffered tragedy in her life that has helped mold who she is. While Clancy has chosen to distance himself, she instead had to buckle down and take charge for her younger siblings. This made her a instant success in my mind because any woman who will put her life on hold to care for others deserves to find happiness. I could also relate to her because she fails to see that she too deserves happiness. I would have liked to see her getting taken care of as much as see seems to do for others. Maybe in another story I will get to see how see can let her hair down a bit and depend on others a little.
The erotic play within this story is spectacular. There is truly something for everyone. I also really enjoyed that while Tess and Clancy may have invited someone else into their bedroom, they did not let that person into their hearts or emotional relationship. It made me understand and appreciate what they had even more. They also seemed to be happy giving what the other person wants in the bedroom as well as outside, even if it is a little light bondage or control.
The author’s ability to write both believable characters and a story line made this story a stand out for me. I would not be surprised to find out that these characters and their story is not based on someone the author may know or from true life experience. Sometimes truth is better than fiction, and this story just seemed to have a ring of truth to it for me, which indeed made it better than many off the wall fictional stories I have read.
Everyone needs someone to rely on, no matter how strong you are. Protect and Serve by Robin Leigh Miller is a wonderful mix of romance and puzzling mystery. This book is the sequel to Spliced by Robin Leigh Miller. Tami finds out that there really are still guys with old fashioned values that stand by someone they love when they are in trouble.
Tami is a courageous, self-confident, vibrant, and hard working woman. She acts without thinking, like when she attacks Briggs with a cast iron pan to save Briggs’ wife. She meets Lieutenant Kevin Smith. There is instant attraction between the two. She is wary of involving Kevin in her life. Tami is the type of person that keeps Kevin on his toes. The author did a great job making Tami very realistic. In addition, the things she does not tell Kevin until later that prove to be a bigger deal than she originally thought was very realistic.
Kevin is a police officer who frequents the local dinner because he is attracted the waitress. Kevin is the man that all our parents always wanted us to find and marry. He has rules that he lives by and lives by them. Kevin goes above and beyond to prove to Tami that they are a good match. The chemistry between Tami and Kevin is great. Kevin stands by Tami no matter how much she tries to push him away.
The author did a wonderful job mixing romance, and mystery together to create this book. This book has a something for everyone in it. This was a book that I had a hard time putting down. I cannot wait to read the next book by this author.
Rachel “Lady Raven” Morris is a Domme and a switch, who has her sub, but still needs a Dom in her life. Lucky for her, her sub, Will Sullivan has plans for her, and his best friend Ben “Sledge” Welsh is just the Dom she needs. Rachel and Ben had a moment a few years ago, but life got in the way and they’ve both wanted each other from afar.
I will admit I don’t read many stories with a female Dominant, but I will say that Ms. Willows pulls off Raven’s and Will’s relationship beautifully. She tells the story in a way that doesn’t portray Will as weak for being Rachel’s submissive, and the respect that Rachel has for Will is extraordinarily well done. The idea of Rachel fighting her instincts to submit to Ben are very believable, after all she is a Domme with her own strong reputation. This story doesn’t just jump into a threesome without there being doubts on everyone’s parts and they didn’t just meet. They’ve known and respected each other for years, with Will and Ben being best friends, and Will and Rachel having a long term and loving relationship. It’s easy to see them working to make this relationship work since it fulfills everyone’s needs. This is a ménage that is about Ben and Rachel and Rachel and Will and while Ben and Will love each other as best friends they don’t need each other in a sexual manner and that is made very clear.
Overall, I would gladly give Ms. Willows other BDSM books a try and would recommend her to others. I felt she had a real understanding on how relationships are formed and definitely knows how to write a sexy story. There is no shortage of hot and satisfying scenes in this book, with enough sentiment that you aren’t left thinking they are only with each other for sex. This book seems to be third in a series, but I had no problem following and reading this story as a stand alone.
I recommend this story for anyone looking for some smoking hot chemistry between Alpha personalities, and those who don’t mind a woman who knows how to take charge.
Age does not make a difference when it comes to love. Bound: Forget me Not is the first of many books, I hope, between Jason (age 22) and Henry (age 40). This is H. B. Pattaskyn’s second novel, and if she keeps writing novels like this one she should develop quite a following.
Jason Kennly is a college student working set up for a convention. He meets Henry, a booth owner. Henry gets Jason to demo for him, opening him up to a different world. Jason has very little support system around him. His mother passed away when he was seventeen and his father did not know he existed until her death. It’s apparent to anyone that Jason is a submissive trying to make the people around him happy at his expense of his happiness. Jason comes across as a bit too whiny at times. He is very young and I hope will grow out of the whininess.
Henry is a leather booth owner and is drawn to Jason. He sees that Jason could be the perfect submissive. The age difference between the two, while coming as a shock to Henry, does not stop either one. Henry cherishes Jason and accepts him in a way no else has since his mother. I did wonder about Henry’s motives getting involved with Jason. Is he trying to be a friend, or a lover? I did like that the author showed that Henry had doubts and fears when dealing with Jason.
The chemistry between Henry and Jason burns up the pages. The sex scenes between the two are scorching hot. I also liked that, while the play between Jason and Henry was intense, there was not extreme hardcore BDSM. There was no humiliation or blood play. I liked that Henry and Jason had conversations out of the Dom/sub roles. I also liked that Henry wanted to show Jason as much as he could in the short amount of time they had.
This book is a true love story where age does not matter. I really loved this book! If you are a fan of Sean Michael’s novels then you may enjoy this book. I did not want the book to end. I cannot wait to see what happens to Jason and Henry in the future....more
Convinced by a friend to investigate her newly purchased home, Olivia sets out to find out if it is haunted. She is in for more than she bargained for when a favor for a friend turns into a very real Halloween encounter from beyond the grave.
Olivia was a ghost hunter on a mission. Determined to find out if her friend’s recent home purchase was haunted, she sets up a traditional Dumb Supper after a Halloween party. Not expecting a real manifestation, she is stunned when a sexy ghost appears and the heat between them combusts into an open flame. Thinking she is a doxy in her Halloween costume, the ghost alternatively insults and inflames her until she is ready to embrace him in both body and soul.
Set up over five Halloweens, Olivia meets with the ghost and falls for him. Calling him Master, she dresses up, fixes him dinner and they have bouts of rock-the-house sex that will have you turning the pages on your e-reader at lightning speed. While at first, I found the ghost to be a bit of a jerk calling Olivia a whore at every turn, you begin to understand more about his character as the story goes on.
One of the interesting things about this story in serial form is the journey with the two lovers over time and what happens when the already decaying house becomes unsafe to live in. Olivia lives in fear of not being able to meet with her Master if the house is torn down. She lives for their yearly interludes and after reading some of the spanking, tying up and otherwise naughty scenes, I have to agree. This ghost is a keeper!
The banter back and forth between the main characters, the sex scenes and overall presentation of the book was great. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. Her ability to pique your interest in the story is considerable and as a serial, it let you see the growth of the characters and the fear that they may not be able to be together.
If you want a hot read that has some unexpected story twists, then this book is for you. Lovers of the paranormal will love it!...more
What do you get when you have a Gothic style mystery and a sexy mix of characters that would rival Peyton Place? Pendelton Manor.
When Sophie takes a housekeeping job at Pendelton Manor to escape the grief of losing her only child, she has no way of knowing that she is walking into an orgy. The inhabitants of Pendelton Manor are completely open about their sexual habits, and when Sophie walks in on it, she is dumbfounded, but also aroused. A mix of old style Gothic mystery and a full on sexscapade, this book was a scorching hot read.
At first, my initial response to the story was that it reminded me of the old Victoria Holt mysteries with a brooding murderer lurking about. Add in sex at every single turn and you have something that would make even the most adventurous person blush. Adrian and the rest of the family are openly sexual in front of everyone in the house, hence the turnover in housekeepers. It is a bit shocking to find yourself in the midst of an orgy when you are trying to clean.
While I enjoyed the plot, dialogue and Sophie’s sexual awakening, I did feel that the sex was over the top. The author did a great job with each scene, but there were so many, I felt my eyes glazing over on a couple of occasions where I wanted to find out about the murderer or what happened to the cat. Also, the personal dynamics between Adrian, the oldest brother and owner of the manse and Sophie was the main focus, but I wanted more from their interactions. There was a repeated reference about the grief of both Adrian and Sophie that felt a little like an echo.
Overall, the story was great and the sex was smoking hot. Menage action at every turn with some one on one with Adrian and Sophie that scorched my e-reader made this a great read, but again, I would have liked a few more mystery elements.
If you have a fondness for Gothic style mysteries with a flair for wild sex parties than dip your toes in this one.
While Angel’s voice propelled him into stardom it has also been his worst enemy. Angel is so beyond exhausted that his manger Jax brings him to the Velvet Glove for treatment that only the Velvet Glove could provide. Roland is tasked with helping Angel while Jax relaxes and spends his time with Minuet.
Sean Michael had done it again! Angel enters the Velvet Glove sedated. Jax relies on a friend, Malachi, to find the right man to help Angel heal. Malachi apparently is good at matching people. Ronald is a good match for Angel. I could visualize Angel’s reactions when Ronald refused to let him do something. One of the problems I did have with the story was that the jump from Angel not liking Ronald to wanting to be around him all the time was a bit sudden.
The other problem I had with the story was the balance between the two couples. A good portion of the story was devoted to Ronald and Angel, while the relationship between Jax and Minuet was not really explored as much as I would have liked.
I enjoyed the sex scenes with each couple. The sex scenes were milder than Sean Michael’s norm for both couples. I wonder if a heavy sex scene with each couple was left on the editing room floor.
As a fan of Sean Michael, I have to say this book does not disappoint to say the least. If you are interested in a spicy hot read that has a happy ending, then this is the book for you.
