***** EDITED *****
Ok, I think the first book of this series is waaaay better than this one...at least for the first half of the book!
Remember Maggie, Nick' sister, from the first book? Well, this is her book and how she used the same love spell that Alexa had used before. She is trying to surpass a not so good childhood/teenage years of loneliness and abandon.
She had/has/will always have a thing for Michael Conte, the great Italian guy that was Alexa's friend. But she is completely certain that Michael is in love with Alexa and is set to destroy Nick and Alexa's marriage.
There's a compromise, a proposition and a "family travel" that ended up with these two marriage.
I loved Mama Conte. She is the best character of this book. What I liked the most in this book is the changes that Michael and Maggie had from the beginnig of the book.

Killian, I’m standing here furiously clapping hands!! You did it again, girl! Keep writing as you do and keep them coming, you have a gift telling any kind of story!
I’m not a paranormal kinda girl, but this book is divine and had me from the first sentence. "A priest, a witch and a demigod walk into a bar. No joke." I knew from this page on I would love this story. Meet Riona, Marc, Dee, God, angels and everyone that could help protect the earth from Lucifer and his demons. I can’t say much more because I tend to give spoilers and I promised myself I wouldn’t do that anymore.
Stop what you’re doing right now and go read about witches, Satan, the priest, demigods, and archangels! You won’t make a mistake since this is an original, witty and funny read that everyone should read!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this brilliant book. I’m dying to read the others!!! (less)

“Being young didn’t protect anyone. Horrors came for kids, too.” “It’s amazing what a person can do when her life depends on it”.
I don’t think this book is for me and that is sad because while I was reading the summary I thought it had a good concept and it seemed like a great read…
This is the story of Lucretia (Loochie) and her friend Sunny. They are both 12 year-old girls that are best friends forever. Sunny has been fighting a cancer and couldn’t spend Loochie’s bday with her (since she was in a hospital at the time). After two months, Sunny is finally home, but not doing much better. Loochie’s brother, Louis, told her all about the Kroons (some family that was crack addicted and lived at the apartment 6D in the 80’s) and their “disease”.
There was an ambulance (and I really thought Sunny was not ok at that moment) and suddenly there was a female Kroon at Loochie’s window and Sunny had to be rescue from the Kroons. From this point on there is a loooooot of fantasy and creative imagination.
It’s an analogy to how an adult should explain to a child things like heaven, death and bad things, as well as how a psychology disease can manifest in everyone.
My favorite quotes were:
Sunny: “If I understand her and she understands me then maybe you’re the only one who’s in the wrong place.”
Sunny: ““Right after I gave you those cigarettes I leaned out and watched you go into your apartment. You were moving so fast! Then my grandmother came and got me. I wasn’t feeling too good when I leaned back in, like I couldn’t really breathe, so gon-gon took me to my bedroom. She put me down in bed and went to call the ambulance. "I was on the bed and my chest started hurting, a lot. I knew you were waiting for downstairs so I tried to get up anyway but I all I did was roll off the bed. It feels like I’ve been here a couple months, but I’m not sure. I knew you were going to come. I felt it. And I felt like I had to see you before I could go. It was almost like I had to wait for you, or else I couldn’t go to Shea.””

Where did I live before that I hadn’t read this book before??!!! This book is all about the Japan culture, Samurai, loyalty and finding the truth.
It’s the story of Yukiko that is this strong, independent girl that has to take care of her father at the beginning of the story. From the first chapter we can see that she is some bad ass fighter and that she could take care of herself. The Shogun rules the country and has an impossible task to her and her father: find and bring to him a thunder tiger (that are believed to be extinct).
What can I say about Buruu? He is great and I totally envious Yukiko through the book because she could interact with Buruu. I can confirm to everyone that Buruu stole my heart (LOL). I can keep telling what will happen because I’ve already write two reviews and they were full of spoilers. So I’ll let you guys know that this book is really great and that I hated Yoritomo-no-miya with a passion (never feel that way before for a fiction’s character!).
This book has all the things that can make it a great success: Samurai, fights, adventure and friendship!
I receive an e-copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Thanks for the opportunity to read it. (less)

I finished this book yesterday night and I couldn't stop thinking about it to sleep well enough (LOL). So this is that kind of book: the one you can’t put it down for a second and you think OMG all the time…
This book picks up exactly where we left in the last one: with Sam in the hands of the Mogs, Four and Nine running away together and Marina, Ella, Crayton and Six in Spain after the epical battle they had against the Mogs. Since it’s not a unique point of view (we have Four, Six, Marina’s point of view), sometimes I was a little confused at the beginning of some chapter, but after a while, I didn’t have that problem anymore.
It’s full of action and scenes that were completely made to be in a movie (I could see it happening). At the end of the day, they are all together and trying to save the world/universe by learning more about themselves and without leaving anyone behind. The entire story has such a fast pace that I was afraid I would blink and would have lost some important stuff.
I just wanted Sam back already! To me, he is the most adorable character in this series and he has my undying love! (less)

For the first time in my life I won something: I won this ARC in a GoodReads giveaway!!!! I was sooo happy that I couldn’t stop jumping and squealing…LOL. But let’s see what this book is all about, shall we?
How can a book be sooo delicious?! I’m still feeling like I’m parting ways from great friends since the book ended, but I hope we’re going to see more of these two. I have to say that you have a talent to write, Jaci! I loved every page of this book (so much so that I wanted another 300 pages to read more of these two).
This is the story of Cole Riley that is a football star and has some serious problems: his career is at risk because he fights all the time and doesn’t do relationships well (with women or his co-workers). So, to save what is left of his career, Cole agrees to work with Savannah Brooks, a well known image consultant that could help him.
The way these two acted to each other at the beginning of the book made me laugh sometimes but it made me cringe at others! It’s completely obvious that Cole and Savannah are attracted to each other, but they can’t take matters in their hands because of their careers. I won’t say more, because I’m about to tell you guys all the things that happened in this book and that is not OK! You’ll have to read for yourself to see what these two made throughout their journey to HEA.
I’ll just say this: I loved Cole and Savannah was all he needed!
Now, I’m going to read the first book of this series because I love the dynamic and the hot scenes of this book…I’m just imagining all the possibilities at the other books! :) (less)

Jacob Hayes is a teenager that dreams of flying for the Air Force and declaring his undying love to Samantha Shay, the most beautiful and smartest girl of their HS. He is one of the seven children of two amazing people. But, they live in a small town (they live in an island) and like every teenager some choices aren’t always the best ones.
Jake was at a party and, after drinking with his friends, decided that it was the best idea to declare his love to Sam. A car accident later, Jake has to adapt his life to an undeniable truth: he can’t talk anymore because of the accident.
This story had me in tears some moments and not only because of what Jake wanted to say and couldn’t, but because of all the bad things that could happen to a kid and nobody would know. We live in a society that is all about the pretense and the way you’re seen. But this book made it possible to see beyond the make believe! It highlighted that some bad things could happen to good people too and not in a way to punish them, but to make them realized all the beautiful things they have.
I loved how Sam took care of herself and the strong spirit that she had!
This is perfect and I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this brilliant book!(less)

I loved Layken and Will's story and how they dealt with the hand life throught at them! Since the first page I was completely hooked up! I couldn't stop reading and crying as I went with them on their journey to understand love, life and that some bad things could happen to good people!
You have to read this book and let all the tears be dropped: you won't regret it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this master piece! (less)

I could spend all day talking about it and I wouldn't be able to describe how this world will suck you in. The writing is really great, the plot is pretty interisting and the characters are the best.
I loved the way Ananna doesn't take crap from Naji, how she can just be herself and how she could take care of them when nothing else seems to be right. I loved the way Naji tried not to smile at some silly things that Ananna would do and how he was always worry about her (I don't think it was only because of the curse).
The way Ms. Clarke could put together the pirate world with magic and assassins was the best! I couldn't put it down and when work got in my way of reading this book, I would go to work with my mind in the possibilities for these two.
I can't wait for the next one...I really need to know what will happen with these two.

The way Jacqueline became a survivor, how she could understand Lucas soooo well and how the bad didn't have a chance in the end.
It was intense, full of great scenes and with themes that shouldn't be left undiscussed. I'm almost thinking about signing up for some self defense classes myself!
Let's talk about Lucas! He is the most perfect guy out there! His scars and fears are writing in his skin as well as his eyes. He is hot, inteligent, sweet, strong and so many adjectives that I couldn't do him justice. It's impossible not to fall in love with him from the beginning!
