I'm sorry guys but no I did not enjoy this book at all, the only reason I picked it up was because of the hype. (Wrong move) but I was not satisfied. I found myself just skimming through the pages.
Simon and Baz? The entire relationship was totally flat. boring. and inconsequential.
When I was reading the first half Simon was completely obsessed with him. It annoyed me honestly. I'm like "Dude get your shit together don't you have other things to worry about?" This book had 12+ chapters of Simon obsessing over where Baz was. I was close to pulling my hair out if he asked where he was again. I get they are supposed to be together or whatever but still..calm down the fuck down. The world is pretty lame as well.
My point? This book did absolutely nothing for me the only reason I gave it a star was for Penelope, she was alright. I honestly didn't finish it. (I'm definitely sending this book back and getting my refund)
You know, I normally don't read books that has a same sex relationship as a lead -- (nothing personally against the LBGT+ community, the thing is.... I just don't care *shrugs*)-- but I decide to give this a try, and I've also read other books that have the same theme, but it's a no go.
I guess this genre like Erotica is NOT my cup of tea.
Oh well nothing lost there. Onto better things!...more
I've read the Percy Jackson books, mostly all. This is Riordan's world, so it's to be expected that his Norse books would be some--veryy late review--
I've read the Percy Jackson books, mostly all. This is Riordan's world, so it's to be expected that his Norse books would be somewhat similar. And, it was in some ways. But, still different. I enjoyed the that fact that Magnus wasn't twelve but a teenager. Different from Percy much more jaded not so naive. My favorite characters were Magnus and Loki. I'm totally down for MCU!Loki so is it any wonder that I would go for this one? The end scene is so him, and I'm dying to see more of Loki. Thor, on the other hand, he was...strangely exactly like I'd picture modern Thor would be. Oh, and let's not forget about Jack; what's better than a back talking fouled mouth sword.

Say what? I'm doing another Kristen Ashley book? Damn right I am. I'm on a K.A trip (!) right now. She's officially on my favorite authors list. I mean, honestly guys she's THE COOLEST.
Lauren, our female lead, is a woman looking for a place for where she belongs. She's trying to figure out what it is she wants and where she wants to go. After leaving her no good husband, Lauren finds herself in Carnal, Colorado eventually getting a job as a waitress in the local biker bar. Lauren in the beginning is lost which is understood considering the situation she just came out of. By the end of the book, Lauren finds her inner "biker babe" and becomes a strong woman who know what she wants....
And, she finds that with the help of our alpha male/local bounty hunter - Tatum Jackson. Ugh TATUM JACKSON. I...*BREATHES* I will tell you right here in the beginning of this book and part of the middle Tate is AN ASS. He is, he really is. Tate has a foul mouth, a short fuse, protective, aggressive, straight-talker, hardworking, loyal, and devoted. Negative to the positive. When your reading this at first you don't like Tate, esp when it comes to the VERY FIRST thing that came out of his mouth about Lauren was a totally jackass-like comment. But, give it time because I can guarantee if you continue reading you will LOVE Tate by the end. Most of you will probably will WANT a Tatum Jackson of your own.
Besides the romance which by the way is hottttt. *whew* We also have a very serious problem down in Carnal. Someone is kidnapping and murdering young women. And, it's up to Tate and the DPD to figure out who. What we don't realize along with everyone else, is that this case hits closer to home than anyone realizes.
The side characters of Sweet Dreams are well....full of character. Not so much humorous as Tex or Shirleen from the Rock Chick series. But, still enjoyable. My favorite is Jonas. Tate's 10 yrs. old son. HE IS SO ADORABLE. Literally, a mini-Tate. And, I love when he first met Lauren and automatically called her MILF. (lmao)
(side note: We see two familiar faces show up in this book, Hank Nightingale and Eddie Chavez from the Rock Chick series!! *squealsss*)
Sweet Dreams is my favorite out of the Colorado Man series, always worth a re-read.
In ICED we follow smart mouth, energetic Dani O'Malley as she protects her messed up city of Dublin alongside mystery club owner Ryodan. Now, guys I'mIn ICED we follow smart mouth, energetic Dani O'Malley as she protects her messed up city of Dublin alongside mystery club owner Ryodan. Now, guys I'm just gonna start out by saying I like Dani and Ryodan wayyy more than Mac and Barrons.
I guess mostly because Dani grew up in this world so she knows her stuff, she knows how to protect and to fight for herself. And Ryodan (unlike Barrons) is much more -- easy to like. I'm not saying Ryodan is some saint because he is not. He's a robot like figure. Calculating and cold. Not to mention his business Club Chester isn't exactly for the weak-hearted. There's this quote that describes him well:
"She think he's not an animal like Barrons. That's he more civilized. She's right, he is more polished. But, it only makes him more dangerous. With Barrons you expect to get fucked up royally. With Ryodan? You don't see it coming...Barrons breaks heads. Ryodan turns them inside out. Barrons fucks you up. Ryodan makes you fuck yourself up."
But, he has his light moments that made me smile or chuckle mostly when he's with Dani and with Barron I didn't really have that.
Other than these two we also have the return of Christian. He's newly-transformed and slowly but surely becoming an Unseelie Prince. Christian has a bit of a creepy infatuation with Dani in here but not so much were you'd be gagging in your mouth ; more like giving him the eye. We're also introduced to Dani's best bud Dancer. Now, at first Dancer seems like the only normal person in the story. DING DING!! Normal? That's a red flag right there if you've read the Fever series. There's something about Dancer I know there is. I mean he even had the balls to stand up and call out Ryodan and Christian TO THEIR FACES. And, walked away without a scratch!
Suspicious much? Hopefully, we'll learn about Dancer in the coming books.
The surrounding issue everyone has with ICED is the relationship or could be relationship between Ryodan and Dani. Guys, GUYS! Listen up. I'm all for Dani and Ryodan if Moning solves the age thing. I'm also for Dani not ending up with anything. But, let's be real there was no indication of Ryodan having feelings for Dani in this book. On occasion and straight-out he's mentioned that she will become one hell of a woman in her years (with which I agree). But, it was nothing more than that. I mean Dani and Ryodan was more like....well Batman and Robin. I think we gotta awhile before it goes any further. That's all I gotta say....more
The first Evanovich book I read was the Stephanie Plum series. It didn't turn out so well. I ended up hating it. Stephanie grated my nerves so much!
(The first Evanovich book I read was the Stephanie Plum series. It didn't turn out so well. I ended up hating it. Stephanie grated my nerves so much!
(So....I've learned not to take these books seriously. Because if I do, I'll just get turned off)
Anyway...I decided to give her another chance. So, here I am reading the Lizzy & Diesel series. And, I have to say I enjoyed it. 0-0 <--- my expression pretty much.
I was surprised I ended the book with a good feeling.
Loved Lizzy and Diesel together, they had this easy teasing banter between them. I like that romance, or getting in each other pants wasn't the main focus. I mean it was hinted here and there, but it was never really taken seriously. The premise of the book was interesting and I can get on that train.
Wish there was more Wulf/Diesel interaction though. That little moment they had outside the guy's house was cute. Then there's Clara and Glo. The one-eyed cat and Carl the monkey. Everyone was pretty much alright.
I'm willing to continue this series. We'll see how it goes from here... ...more
In this story, we follow Jules Lawson aka "The Law" and her quest to clean up the streets of Denver. As a social worfind this and more at busybookbee
In this story, we follow Jules Lawson aka "The Law" and her quest to clean up the streets of Denver. As a social worker, Jules is very much attached to the kids she takes care of. So, when one of them ends up dead because of taking drugs; she starts a personal vendetta against the dealers. Now, I say this with love but Jules is - well to me - the only Rock Chick that is capable of defending herself. For obvious, reasons of course. She knows how to handle a gun and she can kick some serious ass. I, direct your attention to the club scene when she was with the other girls and one of Vance's old hook-ups show up. HOT DAMN JULES WAS ON FIREEE~~. She laid down the Law. hehe
Now, one night during her patrol she comes across resident Hot Bunch Guy- Vance Crowe. *SWOONS* Do you hear the angels singing? Because I do every time this hot piece of I DON'T EVEN KNOW walks on to the scene. All Native American with his long black hair, brown eyes, not to mention his mischievous shit-eating grin.....whoooo someone hold me. Vance is third in command at Nightingale Investigations right after Luke Stark (who you will meet later on :D). He's the best tracker there is, but has a criminal record as well. Arrested for grand theft auto, he changes when he meets Lee. Like every other alpha male in existence and similar to his fellow Hot Bunch brothers, Vance is very protective of the people he cares for and Jules is no exception. So, when she gets in trouble he's on the case!
Despite the sighs, rolling of the eyes, and the "REALLY?!" moments I had while reading this, I enjoyed this. Laughter was expected because I knew the same old antics and secondary characters would make an apperance again. There was some rocky road between the two when another Hot Bunch boy comes for some time, but it all worked out in the end.
But, there was a scene where I was shocked. Something happens to Jules towards the end, and it gives me feelings. Like, I don't know whether I should beat the crap out of her or hug her and never let go. I mean damn.
Reckoning is Stella and Mace's story. Stella is the leader of a rock band in their hometown. While Mace is one of the private investigators in NightinReckoning is Stella and Mace's story. Stella is the leader of a rock band in their hometown. While Mace is one of the private investigators in Nightingale Investigations. Stella is fiery, she's stubborn (-________-) and I gotta say somewhat wishy-washy. There were moments (and I mean MOMENTS!) were I was like "REALLY, STELLA PLEASE PROCEED TO GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOU ASS AND OPEN YOUR EYES!"...and then there were moments where I was like "Oh, okay okay. You alright." Because of her, I didn't enjoy this story and I had hoped but there was a light...
You get me? (sidebar: If you read, Kristen Ashley books before, you know where that phrase comes from. XD). Mace, on the other hand, talk about sexyyyyyy *faints* Whew~ I loved Mace but he wasn't without his faults of course. Mace showed signs of seriously losing his temper a lot, but the reasons are explained. And, I gotta say what he had to go through. Damn. I'm surprised dude can continue living sanely.
Let's talking about Stella and Mace's relationship. Both are broken, both are frustrating, both are stubborn, both needs a good slap but they fit well like a puzzle and healed one another. I'll be honest not a huge fan of this couple especially Stella she was too stupid sometimes that I just wanted...SFDNVJDVLSDHNGIOHEGN!
(view spoiler)[ I mean fuck Stella how many times you gonna fuck it up with Mace or rather be so damn infuriating? Saying the wrong shit. how can you say Mace had/has no demons? You ever wonder why he is the way he is? Why he became a P.I and gave up all the money and fame? You not the only with problems, honey. (hide spoiler)]
Mace, my man good luck with her.
Anyway, can I just say I LOVE THE BOYS! Esp, Lee. I mean all of them are just...O-O LOL K.A kills me with her guys.

Talk about an emotional ride. We return back with Tris and Four after the disastrous turn-out between Erudite and Dauntless members. After both of TriTalk about an emotional ride. We return back with Tris and Four after the disastrous turn-out between Erudite and Dauntless members. After both of Tris' parents died and the death of Will, Tris is dealing with the overwhelming guilt that is gnawing at her. She's facing the cruel fact of how her world is turning out right before her eyes. She's loss. But even so, Tris continues to fight and fight; she continues to search for answers and never give up. Brave and strong but selfless and thoughtful. Dauntless and Abnegation. And, I have to say I absolutely LOVED HER because of that.
Four - in this book - is dealing with being reunited with his estrange father, and we all (those who read Divergent) know how difficult that must be for him. Oh man, we so many sides to Four, it's amazing. I mean there was this one part with his dad in the cafeteria in front of everyone. HOLY SHIT GUYS I TEARED UP. It was so...sad. ;~~~; and NOT in a good way. Both Tris and Four kept holding back from one another. Ugh, I just wanted to scream at them to just talk! They had a good amount of arguments in here, that yet again I wanted to scream. Frustrating in a way that I don't want to throw a few punches. It's a good feeling...
The relationship between the two is amazing. It felt so real, just the way they were with each other. They have this quiet magnetism to them. It's not about the physically, well not only. But, more on the emotionally level. I have to admit in Divergent, it just felt like they were using each other as a crutch and nothing more. But, it definitely develops into something more in Insurgent. Not only that, but they have both grown (esp Tris) so much that they have officially taken a spot on my hero/heroine fav list. XD
I was a bit annoyed how Nat never stood for herself. NOT ONCE. (view spoiler)[Her hoarding behavior played huge part of the story, kind of made mWell.
I was a bit annoyed how Nat never stood for herself. NOT ONCE. (view spoiler)[Her hoarding behavior played huge part of the story, kind of made me glaze over a couple of times. (hide spoiler)]
I mean, she was even told off by a ten-year old. Who cares about the hierarchy of a pack? Okay, no wait it is important in that setting. But, you are grown woman; you can't not let a ten year old tell you off like that, Nat. No. Even if he is "above you on the totem pole"...*sigh*
The romance was pretty much flat, the plot was eh. I mean things would have been solved a lot earlier if (view spoiler)[ she would have told him that she killed Luther's son. I mean damn Nat did you know that all long and wait until Luther had his hand around your throat to tell everyone? NO ONE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN HURT. js. esp your elderly grandmother and MOST DEFINITELY not your brother! (hide spoiler)]
There was something else, that wasn't exactly apart of the plot. But, honestly was insignificant that I didn't understand why it was there. I guess...(view spoiler)[ I'm talking about Alex knocking up the tree nymph...I don't know. (hide spoiler)]
anyway yeah. one star.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more
The idea of the book is what drew me to it. Though I have a problem with it - the ending.
1. What happened to Bridget? Did she overcome her problem? 2.The idea of the book is what drew me to it. Though I have a problem with it - the ending.
1. What happened to Bridget? Did she overcome her problem? 2. What about Fern and Abby? Did they get over their problems and become a bit closer as sisters? 3. Jennifer. Will Margo take revenge? Will she reveal what Jennifer did?
I can go on. But, that's pretty much the point. THE ENDING WAS INCOMPLETE. When I realized it was about to end I was a bit confused. There's so much more that could have been. And, now I'm left with questions, questions, questions. It had potential, didn't fully use it.
Oh, and btw the deal with Sarah and how she decide to rebel against "the list"...that was just nasty. >.<...more
