I believe this is my first time reading a Jen McLaughlin novel. But it's definitely not my first for reading a stepbrother romance. Jen McLaughlin won I believe this is my first time reading a Jen McLaughlin novel. But it's definitely not my first for reading a stepbrother romance. Jen McLaughlin won me totally over for this stepbrother romance. I love that Bad Romance is a fresh take on a taboo storyline that seems to always go the same way... (Oh, we’re stepsiblings so we can't be together) Nope, McLaughlin give's a new reason as to why these two stepsiblings can't be together. And for that reason, I truly love Bad Romance stepbrother romance.
Jackson is a beautiful character. It was hard reading how much he was alone in this world and his family, how he was on his own with no one to really love him, not even his own mother. But Lilly changed that, Lily pretty much was Jackson’s only friend and the only one who believed in him and could see the good that's inside of him. Lilly never stop reaching out to Jackson, even when Jackson kept trying to push her way and left for seven years without a word.
Lilly has always been a daddy's girl. She would never tell her father no, not even when it came to her love for Jackson and to be with Jackson. Lilly is twenty-two now, but she hasn't changed from the girl that she was at fifteen. When it comes to her father, Lilly still allows him to run her life. Even when it's her last chance to be with Jackson, the boy and now the man, she has always loved and wanted with all her heart, soul and body.
Jackson never knew that a plate of chocolate cookies would melt his hard heart as a boy from a little girl who loved him at first sight. But now at twenty-five, it's Jackson who is going to have fight for Lilly. To reach out and prove his love to her, that their love is worth fighting for.
Bad Romance is a surprisingly different take, a fresh breath on a stepbrother romance. I highly recommend as a must read.
Fighting for Devlin is one of those books for me—you know—the kind that you can't put down once you start reading, and the characters become a part of Fighting for Devlin is one of those books for me—you know—the kind that you can't put down once you start reading, and the characters become a part of your heart. Rena Lewis is the Little Red Riding Hood to Devlin's Big Bad Wolf. Except this Riding Hood has a few secrets, and one is that she’s not scared of Devlin's Big Bad Wolf, she wants the bad boy. Yep, Rena walked on the wild side of life, but after a horrible accident that left Rena destroyed and heartbroken, she made a promise to herself to never really live or desire that wild lifestyle again. That is, until Rena meets her new boss, Devlin Calvary. And now Rena's wild side wants to come out and play with Devlin, the sexy bad boy. Devlin loves that good girl, Rena is his bad girl.
Rena and Devlin are on one wild and steamy rollercoaster ride that’s taking their hearts fast to a forever love. But, like all rides, this one too is coming to an end. The only thing is Rena never expected she would get off the ride by herself. But Devlin making a deal with the last person on earth Rena could ever want meddling in her love life, forces their love and convictions to come to a head.
Rena and Devlin have the right kind of wild and sexy romance-- a sexy, not so innocence Red Riding Hood and a hot, dangerous, Big Bad Wolf fairytale love that has a happily ever after ending. Rena's love gives this lost boy a love he has never had, and Devlin's love lets the good girl bad side come out to play. I recommend Fighting for Devlin as a must read. ...more
There are some authors that I don't even feel the need to read the synopsis of their book to know I will get a fantastic story and amazing characters. There are some authors that I don't even feel the need to read the synopsis of their book to know I will get a fantastic story and amazing characters. Ilsa Madden-Mills is one of those authors for me. I love the way she writes and can tell a story. And Dirty English is another awesome novel by the talented author. Well Done, Ilsa Madden-Mills!
Declan Blay is a sexy Brit who came to live in America with his father after his mother passed away from cancer. Declan is also an underground MMA fighter, and twenty-one and in his last year of college at Whitman University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Declan has a twin brother named Dax, who is the polar opposites of Declan. Dax is the happy-go-lucky brother who likes to party and loves the girls. Declan is the serious brother; he loves MMA fighting and dreams of teaching mixed martial arts at his own gym and maybe getting a chance at the UFC.
Elizabeth Bennett (yep, she knows her name gets her the side-eye look when people hear it but, she could care less), happens to love the book Pride and Prejudice. It’s one of her favorites. Elizabeth is very independent and feisty, and she's trying to forget the horrifying abuse she suffered, as well as trying to get away from the small town she came from, along with the mother who's never been a mother to her.
Declan and Elizabeth are two opposites that have more in common than they realize. Declan is a romantic, where Elizabeth is a one-night stand kind of girl. Declan is hard on the outside but soft inside, where Elizabeth is soft on the outside and tough on the inside. Both are loners, both love books, both have ex's from hell, and both are damaged and broken. But where Declan is still holding on to his faith, believing in true love and wanting the girl of his dreams. Elizabeth has slammed the door shut to her heart and doesn't want anything to do with love or man.
I just want to say that I love and totally adore Declan and Elizabeth. Declan is every woman's dream of the prefect alpha male. That sexy English accent, that mouth of his can say the sweetest romantic words that will swoon a girl right off her feet, and then turn right around and say the sexiest, dirtiest bedroom talk that will take a girl right over the edge. And Declan is doing everything in his power to romance Elizabeth and convince her that love is still real, and what they have is the real deal and the forever kind of love.
There are also other awesome characters that I totally fell in love with. Shelley and Blake, who are Elizabeth’s best friends, have protected Elizabeth and her secret. They are truly the kind a friends we all wish for. And then there's Dax the flirt, Declan's twin brother. I can't wait to read his story next. Dax made me smile so much but, he's definitely carrying some deep hurt under that jokester and womanizing persona of his. I highly recommend Dirty English as an awesome must read. ...more

Where Ryder is a strong, arrogant, hard and MMA fighter, Cash is a fu I fell in love with Cash when I first met him in Hard, Ryder's story (book #1). Where Ryder is a strong, arrogant, hard and MMA fighter, Cash is a fun-loving, notorious womanizer, and cocky bartender. But, both men are definitely Sexy Bastards. Cash always has a sexual innuendos comeback for the ladies. I so wanted Cash's story to be next in the Sexy Bastard series. Cash is one of those guys you just love to see them fall in love, that big smile you get when you see the clever women that brings these sexy guys to their knees.
Cash is gorgeous, fun, and cocky guy. But, Cash is running from a horrible past. He thought that by separating from his family/father and living his life in the here and now, his past would stay hidden. But, Cash's parents isn't going to let him hide forever. And it's not just Cash's past that threatens his new life that he made for himself. The beautiful lawyer Savannah is changing his carefree womanizing ways.
Savannah has a past she is trying to escape, too. And a guy like Cash is a big NO, NO, especially after what her ex Tanner did to her. Cash was supposed to be a quick fling to rub off her tarnish ex. But thanks to her traitorous heart when it comes to smooth talking, beautiful dimples face Cash, Savannah just can't resist the sexy bastard.
Cash and Savannah's past is catching up fast with them, and they’re going to have to deal with it before they can even think about a future together. Cash and Savannah's romance is hilarious and steamy hot in the bedroom. I recommend Cash as a must read. ...more
I have to tell you, I was a little leery going into Facing Fire. This book took me out of my genre comfort zone. I’ve never read a black ops novel, o I have to tell you, I was a little leery going into Facing Fire. This book took me out of my genre comfort zone. I’ve never read a black ops novel, or any Delta teams, or with any undercover Alliance secret service kind of Arnold Schwarzenegger Action packed story before. So yeah, I was on pins and needles to start reading this book. But all my fears are over. Readers, I got to tell you that I love all this black ops and undercover stuff and the romance between Josiah and Sutton is definitely under the covers hot. I was so ready for Josiah King to come busting into my window and kidnap me.
The sarcastic bantering between Josiah and Sutton is so good with these two. Sutton is one girl that can take on and face this big muscly, black ops guy with her sassy mouth, and the tough guy Josiah didn't know if she was naive, brave or just stupidly brave. Josiah and Sutton had me loving them from the beginning and laughing uncontrollably. Josiah has never had a woman to mess with his head as badly as Sutton Dahl does. Sutton has Josiah off his game so bad that he didn't know if he wanted to protect her or just take her out and he's not talking about a date. But, he did know he wanted her in his arms and in his bed like he has never wanted any other woman in his life before. Yeah, the woman was definitely messing with more than just his head. (wink)
But there is some serious bad stuff going down. Josiah and Sutton find they both are right in the middle of it with a man named Benton, who is more evil than the devil himself. Benton has hurt and destroyed the most important people in Josiah and Sutton's life, and it's this common ground that they both share with each other that pull Josiah and Sutton to have to work together before Benton destroys more lives.
I am totally won over with the action genre now and can add it to my list of favorites to read. I truly love this tough, bad boy black ops, Josiah King. Josiah romances and loves just as hard as he works to take out the evil in this world. I highly recommend Facing Fire as a must read, action-packed romance that you will definitely want to add to your to-be-read list.
