I saw in bold letters the name Meg Cabot and my heart started to palpitate, already knowing that a favorite author of mine has a book I haven't read yet, that year. And so I bought the book knowing that whatever Meg Cabot wrote about this time, it would be one hell of a good read. And I wasn't wrong. The book has everything from romance, action, comedy, drama and suspense... (due to the fact that the mystery-guy who wanted Jack Townshend dead is still unknown until the near end). It was everything that Meg has to offer and more. As always... Meg Cabot never disappoints as she continues to make more novels/books/stories that leaves me breathless and wanting for more!
Story goes...Jack Townshend and Lou Calabrese both have something in common. They both have cheating ex-bfs/gfs (who married each other) and they hate each other's guts because of it. Then they are tossed into a similar situation that have them fleeing for their life through the wild Alaskan snowy mountains, fighting hired killers, frostbite and the attraction starting to brew hot amidst the cold weather. Ooh, hot!
My thoughts...this is one book I would really love reading over and over again (yeah, I did six times and counting) and still won't get enough of the story. Such a wonderful, exciting plot that made me all the more enamored and in love with Meg Cabot's easy wit and outstanding humor. Best read...evah!(less)

I love Jesse!!!LOL
Story goes...Suze starts to feel something for her ghost buddy, Jesse who hands around in her bedroom where he was murdered. In this book, Suze and Jesse's indifference for each other dissolves as Suze finds herself confronting a vampire! Oh wait... a person who THINKS he's a vampire.
My thoughts...I love Jesse! Oh right! LOL...In this book one could already see Jesse's affection for Suze, although Suze is such a teenager! Yeah, she thinks just like a teenager and that is pretty awesome for Meg Cabot. No wonder her The Princess Diaries series is so famous! By the end of the story what I loved is the understanding between Suze and Jesse and the fact that a love between them is really impossible.(less)

How could Meg Cabot be so fantastic as to FINALLY include a guy that would bring havoc and more chaos and confusion into the unstable Jesse-Suze tandem? Excellent!
Story goes...Paul Slater comes into the picture when once Suze decides to find a job, along with another big problem, much bigger problem: a body was found in their backyard and it is no other than Jesse's. Not only that, a ghost is also tormenting her. The ghost of Jesse's fiance-to-be, Maria de Silva. Talk about awkward...
My thoughts...I really loved this book coz Jesse's past is being put to present and the ever consuming emotion they felt for each other here is put to the test since, Paul Slater is certain of his feelings for Suze. He wanted Suze and he's not used to rejection. And the revelation near the ending is simply superb! Way to go for cliffhangers!!(less)

Did you really understand the book or did you just skim it? My goodness this series was really good!! *i'm about to blow my fuse* but... *DEEP CALM BREATHS*
Story goes...Suze and Jesse's new adventure in this book involves the killed RLS Angels that won't get over the fact that their dead. Typical of dead people right? Well in their case, they have reason for it wasn't an accident. They were murdered. And to add up to her pile of problems, Jesse is acting really weird, Gina is getting all the attention and she's not, and she now had what everyone would call a "Nerd/Geek", in love with her! The said "Geek/Nerd" is even suspected to have murdered the RLS Angels. Hoo boy...
My Thoughts...what a fantastic third book in the series! Duh, it's quite obvious that Jesse is in love with her and there's no denying the feeling is being reciprocated by Suze. More so, there's Fr. Dominic is further ruining it (and putting more thrill into their not-so-relationship) by saying nay to their friendship... What a complicated mess being in love with a ghost, right?(less)

She plays with magic and something's up. Jiinx is a girl I want to be but I'd rather be Suze Simon than her. But all else, this story is nice. The ending got me confused for the way I read it, it even seemed like the magic was all in their heads and her cousin was just plain psycho. But it was a fun read!(less)

I'm falling in love with Meg Cabot. She is simply the best! LOL...*gushing episode* this last book from the Mediator Series is simply marvelous. A perfect end book but I still want MORE!!
Story goes...Suze and Jesse FINALLY have that thing out in the open. And by thing meaning the attraction they felt between them. After finding justice in Jesse's death and making the bad guys pay Haunted, Paul drops the Shifter-genius bomb about soul transference. They say its impossible, but Paul says it is. Only it's equal to murder but is Suze willing to risk that? She loves Jesse but they can't have a future...Jesse's got NO future!
My thoughts...although it seemed unlikely, the ending twist that Meg had provided (yeah, I'm not tellin', ya' gotta read the book yo! It's good!) was perfect for the HEA that Suze and Jesse deserved! My fave series from all other books by Meg Cabot!!(less)

How cou...moreThis was a very excellent read, fascinating since--oh yeah, a girl saved the president's life and she's now involved with the president's son. How could anyone be that lucky? Well, Samantha is!
Meg Cabot once again regales us with a story about girl power, teenage angst and what comes in between, from school, friends and crushes...not to add that family problem. Samantha's story speaks to every girl's heart. Her life is like any other girl's life and struggles. And although the probability that any damn lucky girl would save the president's life (and get closure with the handsome son) is next to null. It's impossible in real life!
But Meg sure knows how to make us girls dream of princesses, carriages, stardom/fame and that fluttery feeling of love and friendship.(less)

And although I only later found out I made a mistake of not even knowing what I was reading, the fact that I understood it all just goes to show how fantastic a writer Meg Cabot truly is!
Story goes...Paul Slater is back and after that big reveal from the previous book Darkest Hour, Suze is more determined to protect Jesse from the powerful likes of Paul and the knowledge he had about them Mediators/Shifters...for he could very well use it to be rid of Jesse forever. Then there's that confusing signals Jesse kept on sending her. Does he like her, like-like her or not like her? To add to that, the vengeful ghost of Craig, wanted to kill his brother as well. What a headache!
My thoughts...this was fun-tastic! I loved it til' the end, and like I said, I read this book FIRST, although it's like the freakin' FIFTH book in the series. This was the first book I read from Meg Cabot's wonderful works and just by this, I'm hooked with reading her works too!(less)

I really liked the idea of a teenage girl who has the ability to see ghosts, be able to speak with them and even touch them and the heroine's goal, Susannah Simone(heroine), is to help these lost souls settle their unfinished business so they could move on to the next life...
Story goes...Suze Simone moves to California with her mom, who remarried Andy, a guy with three sons. She doesn't only get the price of having a new family (new dad, new brothers), new friends, new neighborhood...she also got one extra special surprise waiting for her in her bedroom. Hector "Jesse" De Silva was killed in the room where Suze is sleeping (yep! talk about depressing) and couldn't seem to move on. Suze meanwhile not only has to figure out what hot ghost boy's problem is but there's also a mean girl ghost who can't get over the fact that she's dead, that she needs to help. It's good that her new school's principal is also a mediator like her.
My Thoughts...this was sort of like a training ground for Meg Cabot as she starts her paranormal teen fiction and I really adore the whole series even if I started at five Haunted and began backtracking my progress... This was a good read. 3 stars!(less)

It's brilliant! The subtle flow of the story reveals the wonderful play of attractions, problem solving tactics, family ties and the works. Jack Travis is someone achin' to a perfect guy that is write rare in our society today. But somehow the book managed to reveal a sense of hope that a Jack Travis would one day come, unexpected, wrapped in a really sexy package of masculinity, and would ring true the phrase, "sweep me off my feet...". Every woman who ever knew Jack Travis would instantly fall head over heels with him and that just goes to say that Lisa Kleypas ingenuity surpasses that of the female mind as she widens perspectives, emphasizing the meaning of family, trust and finding that one true love.
Re-review: Re-Read as well! It's not my fault the book was really awesome! Yes, gah, I want to read the first two books! This book (which I also own, paperback, hardbound...*gulp* very expensive)...It was worth every single penny...and I haven't even read the first two books!!
Story goes...Jack Travis is 'the man'. Here comes Ella Varner, typical working girl with boyfriend back home...and she brings a baby and she claims that Jack Travis is the father. In her search for her lost sister and finding herself acting like a surrogate mother, path takes her to love unexpected in a form of a strong, handsome, time-hardened, seasoned, "awesome", male, Jack Travis. He falls in love with her and she's already committed to someone else. Then there's the identity of the baby they are currently pouring love and affection...
My thoughts...this baby is Cupid! A matchmaking bundle of goo-goo eyes and adorable drools. He really is an angel coz without him, Jack and Ella wouldn't have met, fallen in love, and gave us a story that makes happy ever afters seem possible. All time fave! Must read first two books!!(less)
