Just finished reading Reluctant Countess and just in time as I hear it debuts today. I read this book in less than one day, it was that good!! Awesome debut, Everything that I Love to find in a book. From rags to riches.
A fairy tale romance - beauty, prince charming, villain and of course a happy ever after ending.
What is not to love about this book.. I think what set this book apart from the rest of the historical romance books I have read lately, is the utter honesty between the characters. If there is a miscommunication or a secret that one may be keeping~ they talk about it in an open way, no hiding waiting for them to find out the secret on their own. It made for such a pleasant read, without that, well I can't talk for you but I simply want to slap them and tell them to fess up. The more they wait the more strain on the relationship. But Sophie and Patrick have an open dialogue between each other- quite refreshing.
Our heroine is not one to be taken lightly either.. She has spunk and inner class, so she wasn't born into it but sometimes class is not by title and family name alone. Sophie gave purpose to Patrick's life, she had broken through the barrier he placed around his emotions, erected as a child, locked away until Sophie entered his life.
There was such cute dialogue between the characters, finding myself chuckling out loud and highlighting the section, just to go back and read it again.. Some was very emotional... here is a sample of what you will find...
"He told me once that he would marry only when he found someone who wanted him as an equal, not because of his title or wealth, but because she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him, Patrick, not the Earl of Coulter" Stephen to Sophie
"Hello, wife" Patrick said as he turned Sophie to face him.. ..."Hello, husband"....
I simply loved the secondary characters- Stephen and Amelia. I hope this was just a tease and these two will have their own book. The author left us with a bit of a cliffhanger... Drats!!!
This book moves up my favorite list.. once again an exciting debut from author Wendy Vella. I don't think we have seen "nothing" yet from this captivating author. ...more

I stumbled across this book when I saw a fellow blogger post a review. How could I go wrong with mixing my love of Scottish man and the romance of English ladies. I like the freshness of the storyline, Ian MacGregor will set aside his own needs for his family's survival, even if it means marrying a woman he doesn't love and one that doesn't love him.
It was a quick read for me although there were several characters to keep track of. I did wish that the storyline for both Julia, Matthew and Genie were played out more. I would have like to see more of their past revealed and see their romance blossom and played out more, possibly two novellas giving each one their own spotlight. Don't get me wrong, I loved the romancing undertone the author gave us with the pairing, but I would like to have seen more of the development and read more of their interaction.
I would have to say that Augusta was my fav character throughout the story. I loved her spunk, her open honesty, and caring ways. I enjoyed how the author lets the reader into the head of the Uncle, normally a reader doesn't get first hand knowledge of what a villain is plotting or thinking. Readers will love to hate him.
The storyline had a mixture of mystery, murder, deception and best of all Romance. As this is the first in a series, the author has me wondering who is next in this trilogy.....
"Don't shoo me away, Augusta Merrick.... I have questions for you..." "Is it necessary that you be naked to interview me, Ian?" "No.".... "But I would dearly like to be."

My heart is lifted after reading this book. I'm always nervous about picking up a book by an author I have never read. In this case, I need not have worried. I think that is why this was sitting in my TBR pile for a few months, finally getting caught up on my other books, I decided it was time to give this one a try. You know when you read the first few chapters of a book if you are going to like it or not, it took me just a few pages and I knew I was in for a treat.
Tucker's Crossing is sexy, humorous, unexpectedly moving, and Adair is a heck of a good writer. This story had so much to offer, the lost childhood of what a family could have been had it not been for the loss of their mother at an early age. A fun loving family who crumpled after the devastating loss of their mother, his father turned to drinking unable to cope with losing the love of his life. Turning violent and abuse to his three young sons , running away from this violence was all these boys knew to do.
The secondary characters are quite interesting, yet none of them succeed in distracting attention from Shelby and Cody's hot, very troubled relationship. Although ten years have past, there is an instantaneous chemical reaction between Shelby and Cody, their relationship is so incendiary that they have to go back for seconds - and thirds.
"Do. You. Love. Her?" "With everything that I am. "
What a emotional read, from the humor, to the suspense and to the satisfying end, this is a great book, the kind I'll want to reread. If you're like me and you like a little spice - make that a lot of spice - don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed. ...more

I was looking forward to another visit into the McDougal's family. There are five close knit sisters that make up this family, each coming back to help and deal with their father's recent death. This time it is Margot and her sheriff man, Roy's story.
I didn't like the underlying storyline, if you are desperately in love and this person is your rock, your support when faced with a devastating life event, why would you keep them a secret. Why not celebrate your love with your family!! READ MORE

The summary peaked my interest, but it was the wonderful storytelling that won me over. This was more than boy meet girl, boy fallings in love with girl, and then he breaks her heart!! Oh, no this is much more than that. This is a heart wrenching story of two souls meant to be together, but thru their own faults they are kept apart. It isn't until a childhood friend, says enough is enough and with the help of family and friends they devise a plan on bringing these two back together. It wasn't as easy as it sounds and then just when you thought they were going to finally have a Happy Ever After, tragedy struck. Nope, I am not telling you a thing, you must read this to find out if true love does prevail..
There was a wonderful cast of characters in this book. I will tell you that I loved that the author provided a peak into the future with her awesome epilogue. I also love that she was able to soothe Avery's heart and I hope that he finally opens himself up to discover love.. maybe a sequel..
This was a great read and I recommend this to anyone who loved and lost and still believes in the one perfect soul mate. This was surprisingly a book I couldn't put down and in some ways I am sad it ended. This close knit group of friends seem like just the people I would love to call 'my friends'.

You will love this book!! It was that good. The storyline was refreshing, it was a lovely tale proving once again that love triumphs despite obstacles along the way. If you are looking for a hot passionate romance book, you won't find it in this but what you will find is a sweet romantic story of two people finding their way to one another.. You will be delighted in the bantering between Katie and Max, you may even find yourself chuckling out loud a time or two. Max sometimes may have come across pompous, but Katie had a tendency to do "over the top" things. The author created some great secondary characters which added to the depth of Katie and Max. Ms. Flynn brought to life a realistic fishing town and within a few short pages, you felt that you were a resident in the quaint town of Paige Point.
The love that Katie has for Pop is sweet, it made me think of my own grandfather and what I would do for him if he asked. It was cute to find that love can still happen even in your twilight years.
Ms. Flynn spun a wonderful tale and I am sure you won't be disappointed . She is offering 5 copies of her book to 5 lucky winners. I recommend you filling out the form and enter to win this book.

I was excited to read the book after reading the summary. The author wove a believable relationship with Emma and her "Gramps". I think many of us, if given the same circumstance, would do whatever it took to grant the most important person in our life their final wish. Emma got herself in quite a mess once she told her "Gramps" she was engaged, and I was curious how she was going to get herself out of her predicament. There was so much the author could have done with the plot, the storyline was cute, the characters were perfect for one another. I found the author was too descriptive, she tended to over describe unrelated facts. ..more.......more

Just need a few moments to fan myself after reading this book. Lori Foster has a way creating these Alpha Men that just melts me away. Spencer is that and more, the big strong man who suffered a devastating loss, he is hesitant to open his heart again. Our heroine, Arizona, she has had a wicked terrible past. Ms. Foster gives us just enough details that we can figure it out what horrific events Arizona had to deal with. She is a survivor and wants to rid the world of human traffickers. What started as a way to protect and watch over Arizona, Spencer slowly opens his heart to allow Arizona to slip in and chip away at the hard barrier he has placed around it. Arizona, also toys with the fact that she can be loved and she can love others. It was a beautiful moving story, bringing back characters from the previous books in the series. Ms. Foster did a wonderful job building the main characters. This is the fourth in the series, for me having read the previous books provided enough insight for this story. Bravo to Ms. Foster for tackling a difficult subject, bring awareness to her audience. Well Done!!

This was an enjoyable read. A touching tale of a daughter (Venus) to prove her father’s innocence against all odds. And, a man (Connor) who wants to reunite the two most important people in his life. For each of them to be successful~ they need each other. The two have a love hate relationship, until they finally admit their true feelings for one another.
This was a light hearted, funny story with a dash of mystery. The storyline was a breath of fresh air; it was a tale that kept me guessing. There was a great cast of characters, how could you not love Aunt Bridget, she had a no holds bar attitude. And then there’s Tony, a man with a hidden secret, but was he willing to lose the love of his life over it? This is my first book from Sherrill Bodine, she has a way with her words, she captures your attention and pulls you in, that you almost think you are part of storyline. The passion between Venus and Connor was sizzling off the pages. And in the end, both mysteries were resolved; it kept you guessing up until the end and we had a Happy Ever After (actually, I think she ended the book with three HEA's).
“All I want is you” is a book not to miss. I didn’t need to read the first two books to follow along. Now that I have read this one, I want to go back and read the others.
