I received this ARC copy free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I normally do not read book out of sequence, but honestly this book could stand on its own. After reading this, I am anxious to go back and read Book One Chantilly’s Cowboy. I fell in love with the family, the book was very inspiring and paints an intimate portrait of a family dealing with their father’s illness. The author was able to bring each character to life. You felt the sister’s bond and how they can endure anything as long as they have each other.....
Despite the length of the story, the author spent time building the characters and throughout the story the reader knew exactly what each character was thinking and feeling. I love the fact, there were separate chapters written for each character, letting them develop more completely within the story. .....
I have never read any previous books from Charity, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It has four different stories that intertwine with each other. I was pleasantly surprised at the depth she was able to give her characters in this novella.... ...more

I was worried that I wasn’t going to connect with the characters since this is part of an ongoing series, but I was immediately drawn into the plot from very beginning. Their love was forbidden, Drake being the earl’s heir and Emily, the woodman’s untamed daughter. I loved the tenacity of Emily, she loved her man and she would do anything to bring him back from the dark side. I was moved by this story, it was a page turner...

I believe this book is mainly for an UK audience, some of the words were unknown to this U.S. reader.... If you enjoy medical romance, I think you will enjoy ‘Wish Upon a Star’, with the few exceptions noted above. Though it does have a few rough patches for me, it was not bad, but not great.

The Merchant's Daughter is a re-working of the traditional fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. It has many elements of the beloved tale, "beauty", the daughter of a merchant eventually who loses all of his wealth at sea and "the beast", a man who is disfigured with a nasty temper.
Only after I started reading this book that I found it to be a Christian YA book. I was pleasantly surprised how well it was written and I did not feel like I was subliminally preached at. There were some quotes from the Bible but I felt they were all were relevant to the telling of the story.
The ending was very touching; I loved the part when they finally admitted their feelings to one another, it was sweet and touching. This was a beautifully written story and I think it will appeal to more than the just the YA and Christian readers, it was a light romance book with a HEA!! Who could ask for more!...more

What a thrilling start to a new series (Lord of Midnight) from Cara Elliott . 'Too Wicked To Wed' is the first book. We are introduced to three men who have become friends while fighting in Portugal. They have made a name for themselves, they are known simply as the Hellhounds. Connor is the Irish Wolfhound, Gryff is known as Deerhound, and Cam Daggett's is Bloodhound.
Connor, the Earl of Killingworth, owns the Wolf's Lair, a gaming hell and brothel. Someone is out to financially ruin Wolf's Lair. From the beginning you knew Lady Alexa Hendrie was not your typical young lady of the ton awaiting yet another season... ...more

In order to solidify his clan, Connor asked his cousin Alex to enter into a marriage alliance with a neighboring clan. Alex would do anything Connor asks of him, but marriage, he had the wrong guy.
Meet our heroine: The last thing on Glynis mind is to marry again. Her first marriage ended after just a few months, she had enough of her abusive husband's philandering ways and to prove her point she stabbed him.

I didn’t think anyone could be sexier than Ford, well I stand corrected. I fell Head over Heels in love with Sawyer. Never underestimate the quiet ones; Sawyer’s reminded me of candy, all strong on the outside and gooey on the inside. We knew so little about him in the first two books, he seemed reserved, often aloof, extremely guarded about his private life. All it took was the Wild Child to chip away at his seemingly impenetrable exterior.
Chloe struggles for equal acceptance from her sisters, in the past she has gotten herself in quite a few predicaments, hence the nickname “wild child”. She is determined to prove, to them and herself, she has matured and no longer a vagabond; she is wanting to put down roots.... ...more

Like a true romance, Tess and Owen are two of the most unlikely souls imaginable who turn out to be the most perfect of mates. Alone, the hero and heroine are incomplete – they both hide behind shame of their past. Together, they are complete - they fit together like the proverbial pieces of a puzzle. I found it refreshing that almost every page had the two leading characters interacting, sometimes you find an author tends to keep them separated for so much of the book, building the drama up, and that writing leaves me disconnected and wanting more. Their attraction was instance and seeing their relationship blossom was touching. ...more

This book captivated me right from the start. It hooked me from the first page and I didn’t couldn’t put it down until I read the last page. I am not sure my review will do this book justice. Let me give it a try, though.
I selected this book not knowing that it was part of a series, actually this is book three in The Sons of the Revolution. I would not have known until I came toward the end of the book, even then the author gave you enough of a background that I didn’t feel lost at all. I have to say this book gave my sexy Highlanders a run for their money, who knew that privateers could be this HOT!! This book had it all, and quite frankly it is on my top ten list for 2012 ~ and it is only February! I don’t think I ever used this many adjectives in describing one book, but this has revenge, betrayal, swashbuckling swordplay, kidnapping, murder and sizzling passionate romance.
The author wrote an excellent depiction of the adventures on the high seas. The fight scenes were nail biting and you felt that you were a stow away witnessing the fights first handed. Luckily I didn’t get sea sick.
How could you not fall in love with Bastien aka Captain Cutlass, he was a small boy when he was force to leave his beloved home. Everyone he ever loved, besides his trusted family friend Gaston, has died. His heart was hardened, it was better if he never loved again. And he tempted fate every chance he could. That all change when he ran smack dab into his cabin girl ~ Raeven.
"Perhaps, it is time that you stop looking for ways to die and start looking for how you can live" Gaston
Raeven is a feisty, strong willed heroine. She was raised on the sea, and she has a way of finding herself in a bind or two throughout the book. But she is resourceful, you can find her either firing a cannon, picking a lock or throwing knives.
I laughed, I cheered, I cringed and I cried reading this book. Shana Galen delivered a kick ass, steamy tale. I recommend this to everyone. You must buy this!!

This was an enjoyable read. A touching tale of a daughter (Venus) to prove her father’s innocence against all odds. And, a man (Connor) who wants to reunite the two most important people in his life. For each of them to be successful~ they need each other. The two have a love hate relationship, until they finally admit their true feelings for one another.
This was a light hearted, funny story with a dash of mystery. The storyline was a breath of fresh air; it was a tale that kept me guessing. There was a great cast of characters, how could you not love Aunt Bridget, she had a no holds bar attitude. And then there’s Tony, a man with a hidden secret, but was he willing to lose the love of his life over it? This is my first book from Sherrill Bodine, she has a way with her words, she captures your attention and pulls you in, that you almost think you are part of storyline. The passion between Venus and Connor was sizzling off the pages. And in the end, both mysteries were resolved; it kept you guessing up until the end and we had a Happy Ever After (actually, I think she ended the book with three HEA's).
“All I want is you” is a book not to miss. I didn’t need to read the first two books to follow along. Now that I have read this one, I want to go back and read the others.

The story line intrigued me, it had a unique blend of historical fiction, romance and mystery. Manda Collins, is an amazing story teller, “How to Dance with a Duke” pulled me in from the very beginning and I was hooked all the way to the last page.
Her writing in some ways reminded me of Julia Quinn, more for her quick oneliners. I found myself chuckling out loud. I enjoyed the way her writing amused me all the way through, and the same time she was able to spin a mystery which kept me guessing . I thought I knew who was behind it and she proved me wrong. It was thrilling to see everything unfold and surprised me to find out who the “villain” was.

Just need a few moments to fan myself after reading this book. Lori Foster has a way creating these Alpha Men that just melts me away. Spencer is that and more, the big strong man who suffered a devastating loss, he is hesitant to open his heart again. Our heroine, Arizona, she has had a wicked terrible past. Ms. Foster gives us just enough details that we can figure it out what horrific events Arizona had to deal with. She is a survivor and wants to rid the world of human traffickers. What started as a way to protect and watch over Arizona, Spencer slowly opens his heart to allow Arizona to slip in and chip away at the hard barrier he has placed around it. Arizona, also toys with the fact that she can be loved and she can love others. It was a beautiful moving story, bringing back characters from the previous books in the series. Ms. Foster did a wonderful job building the main characters. This is the fourth in the series, for me having read the previous books provided enough insight for this story. Bravo to Ms. Foster for tackling a difficult subject, bring awareness to her audience. Well Done!!

Lucky in Love is the 4th book in the Lucky Harbor Series. For those who know I am an avid Jill Shalvis fan, you won't be surprised when I tell you I absolutely LOVED this book. (((SIGH)) We finally get to meet the Mysterious Cute Guy!! We learn that Ty, a former Navy Seal, is recuperating in Lucky Harbor not only from physical injuries but from emotional wounds as he was the only survivor of the copter crash that killed the rest of the squad.
Mallory Quinn, is a nurse and has always played it safe. Mallory is ready to break out of the mold, walk on the "wild side". And if "luck" ((no pun intended) would have it, Mr. Wrong appears at her feet during a storm. She comes to his aid after he is injured during a snow storm. As he lays in and out of consciousnesses, her friends devise a plan for Ty to be Mallory's date at an upcoming charity auction. As fate would have it, Ty didn't remember "the date" but he shows up anyway.
The rest of the book is filled with their on and off chance encounters until they finally realize their love for one another , that they both are worthy of happiness and love in their life.. Jill Shalvis does another awesome job, building the tension between the two characters and when they do connect it is a steamy hot combustion. Jill does it again with this book, the story line is refreshing and I simply could not put it down. Although the setting is in Lucky Harbor, the characters from the previous books are not secondary characters. This book can be a stand alone if you have not read any other the first three books in the series.
The book give you a glimpse of tension between Amy and Matt, they will be the featured couple in "At Last". There is a must read for all Jill Shalvis readers. She is always on my auto buy!! ...more
