Obsidian was an awesome read. I instantly felt connected to the main character, Katy, and of course I fell in love with Daemon, even if he did act like a complete jerk throughout most of the book. I truly am a sci-fi nerd, so anything to do with super-human powers or hot aliens from another planet definitely grabs my attention. Daeman was like a cross between Clark Kent and Four (from I AM Number Four, not Divergent) with an attitude that was borderline Jace Wayland and Patch Cipriano. Just so you know, that is pretty much the perfect man in my eyes and that is before you consider his dark hair and glimmering green eyes... YUM! Okay, okay, I will stop with the lusting after a fictional character long enough to finish my review :)
Katy and her mother are new to a small town in West Virginia. Katy's father died three years prior and her mother felt they both needed to move on and leave Florida and their old life behind. It isn't the worst thing for Katy considering she is kind of an introvert already with her passion for reading and writing book-blogs. That is until she meets her hoter-than-hot next door neighbor, Daemon, and he turns out to be a complete ass. Worse is the fact that his twin sister, Dee, and Katy have become best friends in a short time and Daemon has made it perfectly clear that he doesn't want Katy hanging out with his sister, insinuating that both he and Dee are better than Katy.
When Katy discovers the real reason Daemon doesn't want her anywhere near him or his sister, Katy's life is altered forever. Not to mention that she has become a target for Daemon and Dee's enemies and Daemon is now forced to keep a close eye on Katy so she doesn't lead their enemies to his door-step, or so that is his excuse for making sure Katy stays where he can see her at all times.
I can't really say much more about Obsidian without giving too much away. It was amazing and I did not want to rip my eyes away from the pages, or kindle screen in my case. I can't wait to read the second book in the series and get more of Daemon. If you haven't bought Obsidian already then do so now!...more

Like every installmeI am torn between my extreme love for Succubus Revealed and the hard reality that the Georgina Kinkaid series has come to an end. Like every installment in this series, the sixth and final book was amazing. It was intriguing and brilliant and heart-wrenching and so, so much more. Richelle really knows how to keep her readers on their toes (or on the couch in my case). If I had one complaint it would be this: "Noooooo!!!! Why, Roman????" but that is the only complaint you'll get out of me.
In Succubus Revealed, Georgina and Seth are finally together again. However, his sister-in-law's growing sickness and Georgina's sudden transfer to Las Vegas has put a strain on their relationship. Roman senses that there is more to Hell's reasoning for Georgina's sudden transfer than meets the eye and starts his own investigation. He uncovers possibilities Georgina has never thought possible and something she's hoped for since signing her soul away to Hell.
I am so happy Georgina got her happily ever after. I'll admit that I was pretty choked up a few times throughout this book, but nothing compared to the tears I shed during the last chapter. I am hoping Richelle is planning for a spin-off series... preferably staring a certain Nephilim and his vast hotness... just putting it out there ;)

First, H.D., why? Why? Why are you making this hard on yourself? You have produced yet another ingenious book that has left my mind reeling, but now you are not going to be able to get a lick of sleep because everyone (myself included) is going to be constantly bugging the living crap out of you to give us MORE!!!!
With that being said...
Alexa, after learning that her mother is being held prisoner in King William's notorious penitentiary, Dangeon, has signed herself up for a suicide mission. Well, it would be if she was human, or even a regular supernatural, but she is neither: she is a Sun Warrior and the only one of her kind. Alexa leaves Nelly behind in the safety of Two Rivers so she can rescue their mother. But little does she know that her sister is anything but safe under the watchful eye of the Queen and those who Alexa thought she could trust.
With the help of her Libra, Kayden, and her monster (you will totally understand once you start reading), she embarks on a mission that will lead her to a horrifying truth... That's it! That's all you get! So pick up this freaking series if you haven't already and start reading because you are missing out!

Although it is the same concept as most books that I've read and loved: Girl meets boy; girl and boy fall in love; their love is tested again and again by some supernatural force; Cambria Herbert's writing style and the new concepts she introduces took Masquerade to a whole different level. Not to mention, I think that Heven is one of my favorite heroins-- not because she is some bad-ass chick, but because she is a survivor who sees the good in people even when maybe she shouldn't.
With that said...
Heven's face is severly disfigured by scars she doesn't remember getting ten months prior. Once one of the most beautful and popular girls in her school, Heven now hides her scars from the world under baggy, hooded sweatshirts and doesn't talk to any of her friends except her two besties, Kimber and Cole. Worst, she is paranoid and feels like she is being watched constantly. She feels as if she will never feel safe and secure again... until she meets Sam. Sam is everything she ever could pray for and he sees past her scars to her very soul. He is perfect... or is he? Sam hides a secret that could not only tear them apart, but that could make Heven hate him forever....more

I loved living in this amazing, horrific, and hilarious world and I am so sad that it is the end :( J.L. pretty much thought of everything imaginable when he wrote and perfected this book. I mean... Jenny on cocaine, Jenny on shrooms!!! FREAKING hilarious and BRILLIANT!
Jenny finds herself in Mexico with Alexander who has been her ally and lover in most of her previous incarnations. Alexander is determined to awaken Jenny's mind to who and what she truly is and Jenny is all for it. The only problem is that the awakening will not only threaten to burn out most of Jenny's humanity, she may lose sight of who she has strived to become over the last few lifetimes and lose the person she loves the most: Seth.
What I love most about the Paranormals series is how unique the whole concept is. I have never read another series like it! For all of you who have not started this series: GET ON IT! Jenny Pox is out there and it is cheap... too cheap! You guys have no idea what you're missing. ...more

This book brought Bryn and William's relationship to a whole new level. I totally fell in love with Patrick and Paul this time around as well.
Bryn's choice to go out on her own in hopes of saving William from the destruction that is her immortal legacy made for such an awesome story. I am so excited to read the next book in this series! I am almost positive that we are not going to get the happy ending that Ms. Williams provided for us in Fallen Eden and if I am right about this, I am going to have a whole new kind of hate for Charles, William's father.
Hurry, Nicole! I want to read the next book! :)
Scratch my last comment about Nicole hurrying up with the next book!United Eden (the final book in the Eden Trilogy) is already out and I just one-clicked it up at Amazon!!! I feel very, very happy right now :) ...more

Come on... you don't know the answer? You would get Susan Bischoff's "Talent Chronicles."
Being a huge fan of super hero's, I went into this series knowing that I would like it. However, I more than just like the series, I LOVE IT! Hush Money, which is the first book in the series, was completely awesome. But, Hero's 'Til Curfew surpassed "awesome" and is in a league all by itself. Joss and Dylan are probably the sweetest couple on the face of the earth... I'm talking better than Edward and Bella because Joss and Dylan seem so real, so believable, that it is hard to fathom that these characters are actually NOT living somewhere on the planet, hiding from the governmant and fighting the bad Talents (that is what people with abilities are referred to in this series). Honestly, I couldn't stop smiling at every Joss/Dylan scene.
I am not the best reviewer. Hell, I'm not a reviewer at all, but this series deserves praise! If you guys haven't read Hush Money, you need to! It is only .99 cents! Ms. Bischoff is being robbed because her books are worth SO much more! Also, you can get Impulse Control (Talent Chronicles 0.5) for FREE! It is a short story about Talents who have been caught by the government and placed in the state school. It gives you a special look at what can happen to Joss, Dylan, and the rest of the Talents should their abilities be brought to light.
P.S. Susan! Please tell me that you are writing more about Joss and Dylan. I noticed that "Hero's 'Til Curfew" ended without any loose ends... Well, maybe not, since I still want to know what is up with Joss's dad and WHO he use to be :) ...more

All throughout Oddily, I wanted to cry for the main character whose name is Oddily :) The only thing that bothered me about this book was how stiff the dialogue was. I understand that Maxim (being who, and what, he is) would speak in a way that makes him seem older than a teen. But Oddily speaks in the same manor, and given the life she has been dealt, I would think she would be a little less stiff. Other than that, I loved the book. I was a little bummed at how abrupt the ending was, but I'll get over that as soon as the second book, Maxim, is out. ...more

I liked the first book in the series, Heavenly, but Pentitence was so much better. I love Ms. Laurens' thought process on good and evil. When I'm reading, I can actually reflect on times in my life where I ask myself, "Did I have an evil spirit latched onto my back at that moment?" I know it's fiction, but the author fantastically entwines the good word into this series and I appreciate it. When my daughter is old enough, I will be recommending this series for her to read. The main character, Zoe, goes through so much in her journey to becoming a being of the light and faces a lot of her own demons in the process. Speaking from a Christian point of view (which I very much am) I loved every part of this book. Not only can I relate, the story made me question myself now and catch some things that I do on a daily basis that might not be so good for my soul. :)
The one ting I admired most about Zoe's character is her ability to forgive. Forgivness is so important and I'm sure when people read this book, they'll question whether or not they are holding grudges they should let go of. I'm still not sure how I feel about Matthias... I'd much rather her end up with Weston... yummy :)...more

I will be buying the second book when it comes out. The one thing I can say about this book is: it's an idea I've never heard of before. It's nice to read a book that the authors ideas, dialogue, and charatcers don't seem to be stolen from the pages of Twilight. I am curious to see where Ms. Williams goes with this series. Her writing is really good and if there is one thing I have noticed with up and coming authors: their books always seem to get better with every installment :)
One thing that irked me from the beginning was the lead charcter, Bryn, was so obnoxious with how she treated William in the at first. I liked her wit, don't get me wrong, but it seemed out of place and misdirected. After that she went on to claiming she loved him at first sight, but it sure didn't seem that way. ...more
