I must say after seeing all the 1 stars that it has been given on Good Reads I was kind of expecting a so-so read. But, despite all the 1 stars, I really enjoyed this book. It was fast read and at the end of each chapter I kept telling my self I “have to go to bed!”, but I just couldn’t put the book down. The main character is Nora she is your run of the mill average teen aged girl (aren’t they all? lol) and she has a best friend who is named Vee. Her and Vee and basically attached at the hip, until the day their teacher changes up the seating chart in class. Nora’s new bio partner is a mysterious bad boy named Patch (I must say I really liked that Patch was not a vampire or a werewolf, he is a fallen angel which I think is very interesting, I like the bad boy attitude he has). Nora feels a strange attraction to Patch, and she knows that it is not a good thing, she can sense something is not normal about him. She tries her hardest to ignore her strong attraction to Patch but she no longer has the strength to do so. Nora is in love with Patch and in the end she makes the ultimate sacrifice for him or does she?(less)

City of Fallen Angels was not my favorite but it did not disappoint. In this book you get to see Simon more as the main character. Everything focuses around him and he is really involved in everything that happens throughout the book. You really get to see more of his life and all the new and interesting things that are happening with him. But lets not forget about Jace and Clary, whose relationship has more ups and downs than a roller coaster. I really like Jace he is super sweet, but he spends to much time questioning his and Clary's relationship. But then he has those moments when he just forgets about everything that is bothering him and he lets himself love.
oh & while i am on the topic of relationships Alec and Magnus=♥
Anyways, there is some awesome action towards the end of the book which involves Jace,Clary, Simon, and someone very interesting. After all the action things calm down and start coming to a close which I must say I did not like the end of the book. I was just like ahhhhhhh really???? :( The ending was not my favorite but it definitely leaves me wanting more.(less)

The main character is Clea, she has a best friend named Rayna, and then there is Ben and Sage. The more you read the better the story gets and the less you want to put the book down. The storyline is actually very interesting and I like the twist of events. You think they are on a mission to do one thing but it turns out to be a toatally different thing. When the book started comming to an end I was kind of upset. I was not ready for the story to end, I wanted to continue reading and find out what else would happen with the characters. The book leaves you wanting more, it ends on a huge cliff hanger. But dont worry the story will continue this October the sequel is called Devoted.
If you have time I would suggest giving this book a read, not everyone is going to like it but that is the case for just about everything. If you do read the book or have already id love to hear what you think of it.(less)

She is a princess to the country of Oravalle and the bearer of a godstone. If you are like me I had no clue what a godstone was, it is described as a jewel implanted in Elisa’a belly button. It signifies that she is marked by god as one who will do a Service. When I was reading this all I pictured wer the trolls that had the jewels as a bellybutton lol.
But anyways ..... Elisa describes herself as the overweight younger sister who has never done anything worthy of bearing the godstone.
At the start of the book we learn that Elisa's father has arranged for her to marry a King of another country. Elisa is only 16 years old and she has never met this man before, so she is confused at what her fathers intentions may be. She starts out as a very nervous unconfident character. Always worried about what others think of her, mostly worried about her weight. But as the story goes on Elisa becomes a much stronger character. As the bearer of a godstone she has a lot resting on her shoulders and she does not want to disappoint. She worries less about how others see her and focuses on what she has to do to save her people. It was nice to see a female character that was able to stand on her own and not depend on a man.
This story consists a fantastic cast of characters as well as adventure, romance and magic. Though I must say I was a little confused with the way the romance played out I was kind of disappointed, but on the other hand not so much. lol
I think that the Author did a nice job of really bringing you into Elisa's world and thoughts. The plot was very interesting and I never got bored with the story.
The Girl of Fire and Thorns is the first of a planned trilogy. I look forward to continuing Elisa's story, but this book ends in a nice place and had enough closure to stand alone as a single book.(less)
