Ford had spent most of his life working in his parent's diner, with no gratitude or pay for his services. Ford's world changes dramatically when his mother shares a secret with him one day and tells him the worst thing he could possibly hear. Wicker forks is not his father, his real father is an evil creep who followed his mother home one night. On his quest to find himself and track down his heritage, Ford learns even more hideous secrets are about to come out. There is a reason his skin is changing texture and his eyes reflect red deep within their core. He is a Draconian, half human and half dragon. The adventure he encounters when he meets Will, Jade and others who share his heritage is one of great commaderie and triumph. Stephanie Cambell weaves her story with humor, and heart felt emotions. Ford quickly became my hero. Ford's friends were portrayed by believable characters, all who were rich in great dialog and wit, become very lovable in their tragedy of being less than full-blooded dragons. I was very drawn to the conflict of Ford and his misfit parents, mesmerized by the plot and the common dream we all have of wanting to belong. I recommend this book for all ages and give it five stars. More from Stephanie Cambell is a must! ...more

First, how refreshing to have such an original absorbing storyline. Kit is not your typical fourteen-year-old teen. Even as an infant, she stood out in the fact she was always happy and rarely ever cried. As a young woman, she encountered the normal round of teen issues but turned out to be something different; a genuine art prodigy. Kit easy fascinated me easily and she soon became my favorite. In many ways, she was wise beyond her years and when she was taken under the wings of Julia Davis, it was a good match. Julia, who is also a very gifted artist, lost her daughter, Emily, and husband, Paul, in a tragic car accident. What made it more poignant was the fact it was on her daughter's birthday. Julia's final gift before her daughter's death was a family heirloom, a gold heart-shaped locket passed on from her grandmother. I was very empathetic at this woman's grief at loosing her family. The accident scene was portrayed with realism and had very gripping moments. Soon, you realize there is an endearing connection to both of them, when Kit has visits from a ghost, who turns out to be Julie's daughter Emily. Kit is no softie, when she encounters gang related violence she deals with it the only way she knows how. Coming from a poor neighborhood in New York, Kit becomes a hero in her own right. I would highly recommend this book to young adult readers and beyond. David Wright is a talented and well-crafted writer. I gave it 5 stars. The Ghost Locket...more

This review is from: Peer Inside My Soul and See Me Peer Inside My Soul and See Me may be by far, the best collection of poems I have ever read on love, reflection and heartbreak. When I read Dark Angels, I was transfixed by the cadence and flow of her thoughts, her gift of describing pain so well, her words vibrating with pure emotion. What a joy to read! 'Killing Me Softly, Feels So Good,' has a mildly erotic flair that will make you blush, but is superbly written. Page after page, I was astounded at just how many beautiful moving poems De Ann had written, well over a hundred! You will be very pleased with this amazing collection and it deserves five stars and beyond....more

This novel catapults the main characters, Laura and Julian into a celestial realm after both have car accidents and die. Their spirits are drawn to each other, but when they return to their physical bodies, they wonder if it was a dream or they imagined it. Haunted by their experiences, they go on with their lives but they know they have both changed from this"bond" they shared together.
Both are recovering, Julian is an artist and Laura is an independent and hard working store owner. Lacy, Laura's pregnant sister, uses the opportunity to try and steal money from her sister’s store. Soon, her lazy boyfriend and his brother plot how to get at Laura’s wealth in a conniving ploy that will destroy Laura. In the meantime, Julian is striving to find the elusive Laura of his dreams and save her from her impending danger.
This story had a beautiful element of the paranormal in it that I loved! Not only will readers cheer on Laura, but they will love Julian as I did. I gave it five stars and hope this will be made into a movie. Beautiful!

Is she making the right choice? “A Change of Heart” is a tug of war between coming of age, faith and heartbreak .The last half of the book has twist and turns that will surprise you. The man who comes to her rescue in the end is my kind of hero and makes this an old fashioned love story. It will keep you reading chapter after chapter. When I read the first two sentences of Ms. Roberts blurb for The Sunny Side of the Mountain, I knew I was going to fall in love with Cassandra’s storyWhen I read the first two sentences of Ms. Roberts blurb for The Sunny Side of the Mountain, I knew I was going to fall in love with Cassandra’s story. “He was her rock, her soul. He was her everything.” I don’t think I have ever cheered for anyone as much as this endearing brave woman who never gave up on finding a love to call her own. Her life did not start out perfect. She loved Sean with the fierceness that comes with a first time love only to find out it abruptly ended much to soon. Never really understanding her heartache of loosing him, she later meets Jeff who misleads her into thinking he was her perfect soul mate. His secrets and the birth of the twins send her on a journey I was only too happy to follow. I give this read 5 stars and hope to read more from a first time author I enjoyed immensely!
