Are there plot holes? Yes.
Are there inconsistencies? Yes.
Is there still a shit ton of things left to resolve when it ends? Yes.
Do I have any idea what really "caused" the zombies in the first place? No.
Do I even know what these skeleton things are? No.
Do I have any clue why "Julie" was really that important? Not really.
Do I know exactly how the "cure" works? No.
Do I care?
None of that matters to me at all. I don't need all those things addressed because I love everything about this book anyway. It's entertaining. It's engaging. It's unique as all get out. "R"'s characterization is phenomenal, as is his development and growth throughout the book. His voice is just superb - top shelf stuff. The whole book is witty, well written, and just... awesome.

I won't make this a long review because I know that this isn't exactly "popular" fiction, meaning it's not beach or plane material that a lot of people are going to read.
But what it is is some of the finest satire I've ever read. It's incredibly smart and witty, all the while making some pretty interesting and bang on observations of America and the American dream.
It's also... dense reading. Told ENTIRELY in dialogue and with ZERO chapter breaks, you have to actually pay attention to what you are reading. It's chaotic and fast paced, and sometimes rather confusing. I found myself reading very quickly, almost as if I were trying to keep up with an actual spoken conversation.
Either way, it's a very fun experience and at the same time, very unlike most books you'll find. If you are looking for something maybe off the beaten path, something new, something funny, and yeah, something that you might have to work a little to understand and to keep up with, this one is perfect.
