Well, C.C. did it again. Am I honestly surprised? No. But I'm surprised by how much I truly liked it. I loved Kylie's story and didn't know how I was going to like having these characters continuing through life through someone else POV. But WOW that was amazing!!!! Like seriously AMAZING!!! I did wonder how C.C. was going to write Della's story and not make it sound like Kylie's but she did it. First, I want to start with how glad I am that we get to know Steve a lot better. He's definitely my favorite out of Lucas and Derek. I love how much he cares for Della, she definitely deserves someone who excepts her for who she is, spunk and all. Second, I love how much we get to know Della. You get to know her really well in Kylie's books because Kylie is so observant and understands Della. But you don't get to see what is really going on in Della's head. You only get to see what Kylie thinks is going on you never get the full picture. In this however you truly get to see Della's insecurities and her doubts and you really get to know her better. You get to see how much she struggles with being a Vampire and how hard it is to lie to her family about it. Thirdly, I can't write a review about any of these books without mentioning Holiday and Burnett. I was worried that we weren't going to see that much of them because it seemed that Kylie was closer to them then Della. But oh how I was wrong with this as well. And I can't complain one bit. Because I love those two! they're just so adorable. And you still get to see plenty of them. Fourth, I love, like LOVE! the new twist C.C. has added to the story, with what is happening to Della. Some people might now like it but I personally loved it. It just made everything make so much more sense. And it also made the book that much more exciting. Along with all of Della's little quests. I don't want to mention what they are because I don't want to give anything away, but they sure made for a really fun read. Fifth, how can I not mention Kylie, Miranda, Derek, Lucas, and Perry? Because they still play a pretty big part in this. Miranda and Perry are still just as in love as ever. Lucas and Kylie are even closer then where Kylie's story ended. And I was so happy to see something growing between Derek and Jenny. You do get to see all the boys become a little to over protective of the girls, but don't worry, the girls get to kick some serious but and shove it in the boys faces that they are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, which is very important to Della because she wants to be a part of the FRU so bad that sometimes she goes about it all the wrong ways. Sixth, I really enjoyed watching how much Burnett cares for Della. And because he cares for her so much he tends to step on her toes a lot, which leads to some pretty funny arguments between the two, to which Holiday just sits back and lets them duke it out. I was honestly surprised though how much he cares. I mean obviously he care for all of them, but he has a big soft spot where Della is concerned. Seventh, the new guy. What can I say about the new guy? Other than he might be a little drool worthy. But he is such mystery throughout the book that you don't truly get to know him until the ending. If I had to choose between the guys right now it would definitely be Steve. I just really like Steve and Della together and how close they are. He's the first guy that has somewhat sorda let in since her ex-boyfriends, and that's big for her. But Chase has his moments as well. And with how the book ends you can definitely tell that things are going to get a little interesting between the three of them. But at this point, in the end, I really hope she chooses Steve. They just go together so well. Like a Salt and Sweet snack. Anywho, with how the last half of the book went, I don't know how Della stayed sane. I would have been emotionally and physically drained, to the point where I would just want to sit around and sleep for days. I really hope C.C. get's that second book out fast because I'm dying to see where she is going to take this story. With that ending you know it's going to be good!!!!! (less)

It was so fun to get inside Macey's, Abby's, and Hale's heads. To see how they think and what not. I really like how much action there was in such a short book. And I loved that you got to see how much Abby and Macey's Dad really do love her, and how she loves and respects both of them. I mean you kinda get to see it in the GG series but Ally Carter put more emphases into this story.
Kat and Hale were so cute too. Not that you get to see a lot of them together. But it was cute to see what all they said about the other during their POV's.
The ending was awesome. It totally leaves it open to them coming together in either Heist Society 3 or GG 6. I'm thinking more GG 6. But I can totally see it happening!
I really liked reading this short story and am really hoping that Ally rights more of these! I can never get enough of her writing or these characters!!!!!!!! If you haven't read it yet, you should definitely give it a try!!!!
Just a few of my favorite quotes to maybe wet your mouth enough to read it...
Hale: "I'm sorry if I'm not fliring with you. I'm kind of spoken for." Macey: "I'm sorry if I'm not disappointed. I kind of don't care."
"Tell me what's going on." "Pary crashers," Hale whispered. He watched Macey watching him. "Five, and they brought toys." "Guns?" Kat guessed. "Big ones," Hale said. "you know this is what you get for doing a favor for your mother."
"Cammie's going to be mad she missed this," Macey said to fill the silence. "Excuse me?" Hale asked. "Nothing." She shook her head. "I just...I have a friend who really likes air vents. And dumbwaiter shafts. And laundry chutes. Of course, the last time I was in a laundry chute, Cammie and I fell about a dozen stories..." "well, that sounds like fun." "it was either that or get kidnapped by terrorists, so I guess we got of easy."
"Kat," Abby called, strolling in her direction. "Tell me about your boyfriend." "Well...I don't know that he's my boyfriend. I mean...he's a boy. And he's my friend. And there's recently been the addition of kissing. But does that make us friends with benefits or-" "Kat," Abby snapped. "sorry,"
"What are you doing next?" Kat shrugged. "I might go to Rome. There's a Raphael there I kind of need to...aquire." "That's funny." Macey laughed. "There's an ambassador's son there I kind of need to kidnap. Maybe we'll see each other around."

One thing I noticed when I read her first book, was that Sherry is really good at making you feel exactly what the characters are feeling. And if it's at all possible she does an even better job at it in this book. There were so many times that I had to put this book down and walk away cuz I could feel the characters' pain. I felt Em's pain like as if it was me that had just lost someone. Or JD's and Izzie's pain that I was the biggest scum that was ever on the face of this earth.
If I were a high school teacher I would definitely make my students read this. No I WOULD read it to them to make sure that I knew they were actually get the message from this book!
I loved the ending as weird as that sounds. I think it was the perfect ending. It was such a slap in the face to all those bullies out there, because we know that stuff like that really happens. People can only take so much before they just give up on everything. And the ending does just that. There's no happy ending with that part of the book. But it needed to happen so that people could actually see that things aren't always happy and cheerful like hollywood likes to portray it as.
This book shows how just smiling or giving a helping hand to someone in need can change someone's life in such a drastic way. You see it with JD and almost with Izzie. We just don't realize how much we effect others by our actions and words. Whether it's something good or bad, big or small. And I think this book really hits down on that hard! I just wish I could make everyone read this. Like those bully's out there that mean to cause harm to others, or those that don't even realize that they are bullying. And especially to those who do get bullied so that they can realize that keeping quiet isn't always best. That there is always someone somewhere who will help them, if they wont give up there hope and reach out to someone.
I wish I could express better how much I feel like this book needs to be put into the hands of those young and old! I just hope this review has done enough to convince you to read it. Go learn about JD's story so that you can see better what you can do to start putting an end to this huge problem we have going on in every parts of the world! Give these characters a chance to tell you their story! Go find out if your a Max, or JD, a Nick, or an Emma. If you don't like who your more like then change it!(less)

I've been procrastinating writing this cuz I wanted to give a really good review without giving things away. So here we go...
I just want to start by saying what an amazing author C.C. is. Her books always pull me in and keep my reading really late into the night, and this book was no different!
I was sad going into this book knowing that this will be the last book through Kylie's POV, but C.C. does a really good job at ending her story. I mean she kind of leaves a few things open for Della's story to start up, but it's a good way to end Kylie's POV. It just kind of came to a close, as sad as that sounds. But it was a very good ending!
I loved the twists that she put in this book. Like a certain something that keeps appearing out of no where, or a certain scary ghost--lets just say I'm glad I'm not Kylie--that just randomly popping in. The new twists definitely make the book more exciting!!! It keeps you guessing on what is really happening and what it all means. I couldn't beleive how quickly these new twists start off. Lets just say the book starts off a little crazy and then continues to throw curveballs at you until the end. What with some of Kylie's choice and her new quests.
Now onto the characters... I liked that we got to get to know her grandpa a little more, though I do wish we could have gotten to know him a little better then we do. It was fun starting off with the Chameleon's and getting to meet new people. Della, I absolutey want to strangle sometimes when it came to her and a certain shape-shifter. But then she'll do stuff that would make me laugh and love her all over again. Miranda...lets just say her pinky gets her into a little bit a trouble. Though I will say it was kinda awesome. Perry, is his normal class clown. But he's also so darn cute with Miranda it's so adorable. Holiday and Burnett's relationship takes the cake for me. Out of all the couples in the book I think theirs is my favorite. Actually I don't think, I know. I was a little worried that we weren't going to get anymore Holiday/Burnett fights, but don't worry about it you still get some, and the fact that they're actually together now just makes it better! They just crack me up. Your either laughing or ahhhhhing whenever they come into the story. Burnett was one of my alltime favorites of the book. For me he just makes you love his character more and more in every book. He still has his unreasonable times, but he wouldn't be Burnett without them. Lucas and Derek...I wont go into that much detail with either of them, I don't want to give away who she chooses. I do just have to say that if you are a strong Team Lucas or Team Derek fan you should just let it go right now. If you go into the book hating one or the other then there are going to be some very upset people. But if your able to go into the book looking at the faults in both guys, but also seeing their amazing qualities, and seeing how Kylie reacts to both boys, then I think everyone will see that Kylie--in my opinion--made the right choice. I will say that I'm so happy that C.C. doesn't drag you to the very end of the book wondering who she's going to choose. Kylie makes her choice pretty early on, which I will forever be greatful for. I just hope that people don't get upset and not finish the book because of it.
I'm soooo happy that C.C. is going to continue this series through Della's POV. I was not ready to let go of these characters quite yet, especially after what happens with some of the characters!
If you have not read this series yet I totally recommend it!!! And if you have and are waiting for Chosen at Nightfall, I hope you love it as much as I did!!!!!!!!(less)

But I definitely think everyone, anywhere in the world should read it! Like I said though, it is a bit depressing with a few happy things in it. Just don't go into it thinking anything other. But hey, it was blunt and to the point. There was no sugarcoating it. This is something that could possibly happen to us, and these will probably be the results because of it.
It does teach you a lot though. Especially on how better we can all prepare for something like this. Though I will probably never read it again. I did learn a lot from it. And hopefully everyone that reads it, will too! (less)

It was such a different story then what I've been reading lately and it was a nice change.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I. Love. It. When the girl can kick some serious butt, which Nia has no struggle with. She's pretty much awesome!
The book started off fast. Action already starting within the first few pages. But towards the middle of the book it starts to slow down. Not really the action I guess... it was more the love story that slows it down. It wasn't very believable to me on some parts. And then I got soooo annoyed with the love triangle. Like seriously. I just wanted to smack all three of them. Especially Nia! I couldn't understand why she kept giving John so many chances when he would say that he really likes her then go running back to Cassie. I think there was a reason for that, but it doesn't actually really say, I have my suspicians, but no actual answers. So I guess it was probably the lack of answers when it came to the love triangle that bugged me the most. Which was why I gave it 4 stars and not 5.
If you could cancel all that out then it was an amazingly epic book! I couldn't believe how the books ends so suddenly! Then I was so excited that I at least had the first chapter of the next book to read, and then that leaves you hanging about as much as the first books ending! Definitely makes you want to go pick up the next book!
If you like mythical books, strong female characters, and some amazing action scenes then I would definitely give this book a try if I were you!

The only bad thing I could say about it, was Kylie drove me crazy sometimes during her gullible moments, but besides that it was soooo good! I would definitely recommend reading it if your a fan of the paranormal!
Other then her gullible moments I really did enjoy Kylie as the main character. Some of the things that went through her head made me laugh. And the way she reacted around boys just cracked me up. I really liked Trip too. I loved how protective he was of Kylie and the ending was just so cute between the two of them. It's nice to have an ahhhh moment in books after everything goes all crazy! And let me tell you it does go crazy! Like crazy crazy. Like I had to put the book down and stop a few times crazy! But I kept pushing through it and I'm happy I did. I was so into it that I stayed up until almost two in the morning cuz I just needed to see what was going to happen.
I really wish there was going to be another book. It totally leaves it open for another one to be written so I have my fingers crossed. Cuz I really want to get to know all the characters a little better. Like Sam, her dad and little miss blondy cop, the rest of her family, and of course Kylie and Trip. I also want to really know more about all these little powers that they have and maybe get to know what her mom was like and how she dealt with her own power.
So I'll be waiting with my fingers crossed to see if a second book is going to be written so we can get to know these characters a little better!(less)

I really liked it!!!
Never in a million years did I think I would ever read a gargoyle book. But you know what they say about never. I'm so glad Evie recommended this book to me! I would have been missing out on a lot.
The plot was very interesting. It kept me reading late into the night wanting to see how everything was going to work out. And I'm still waiting. How can you end a book like that?! I kept trying to make my kindle show me more pages even though it said I was 100% done. Needless to say it leaves you wanting the next book!
I loved the characters! Mim was the best friend that I would always want to have. Valor was so sweet and amazing to MacKenzie. I find myself being very jealous of her being surrounded by so many incredible men. But I was especially drawn to Dare! I cannot wait to read his story it just makes me squeal just thinking about reading it!!!!
The only thing that really bothered me was I thought the romance between MacKenzie and Valor's raltionship moved a little too quickly to be completely believable. But I don't think I'll run into that problem with Dare's story (fingers crossed). I'm so excited to see all the characters again. And especially excited to see what happens with Dare and Mim!!!!!(less)

I'm so impressed with this book!
Definitely a new twist for vampire lovers. And I think this would also catch the attention of those Hunger Games lovers as well. But beware this is not a book for the faint of heart. There were a few parts that I was a little freaked and grossed out with.
The beginning was a little hard to get through, but that's because your trying to learn and understand this world of vampires the author has created. But once you start to understand everything a little better it starts to get really good. Especially when you get around to the Heper Hunt! At that point I just didn't want to put the book down.
Most books nowadays are through the girls point of view, so it's always fun to come across a book that's through the boys perspective. And the author doesn't disappoint.I really liked Gene. He was a fun enjoyable character to go through this book with. I never got frustrated or annoyed with him (other then the times that he knew he should be picking up on something but wasn't quite putting it together, because that meant that I wasn't quite putting it all together either). I really enjoyed the Heper group as well. I wish I could have gotten to know them a little better in this.
The ending is crazy! Just a heads up. I can't believe where it leaves off! I want the second book now and the first book isn't even officially out yet! What am I going to do!!!! I can't wait that long to see what's going to happen with the whole Ashley thing, and his Dad thing, and what they're going to discover in the next book. Ahhhhhh, I hope I don't have to wait a whole year for the next one! (less)

This book was sooo beyond good!!! It's by far my favorite of the series! Seriously, it's been about a day now since I finished it and I still can't get over how good it was!! I can't stop thinking about all that happens in it!!!
I cannot believe where she too the book! While I have been waiting for this book to come out I've thought up about a million scenarios that might happen in this book. And I don't think a single one of those happened. But, I wasn't disipointed in any way, becuase of course, C.C's were ten times better!!!
You get so many answeres, but I still feel really bad for Kylie. Because even thought you get some answeres, those answeres lead to more questions (and not all those questions get answers, you've been warned).
You get to see a whole other side to some of the character's that you never in a million years thoguht you would ever see. And you also get to learn about some of the character's pasts. Which I've gotta say was a nice surprise. I mean I new we were going to learn about a certain red-headed camp leader's past eventually but I didn't know if it would be this book or the last book. And I've just gotta say. I love Holiday even more now!!!!
Kylie was just so full of AWESOME in this book! Well, she's always been pretty awesome, but she so far beyond 'that' kind of awesome. Her powers are just so cool! And I think what I love about her the most is that she doesn't want them. To me that's a sign of a true Protecto. Someone who wont abuse the powers that she has been given. She will only use them when she absolutely has no choice.
Now you might have noticed that I haven't mentioned the love triangle. Yeah, theres a reason for that. I've pretty much made my opinion clear on who I want Kylie to choose, so I therefor cannot talk about it without giving things away!
But I can talk about the other characters. Miranda is still totally in love, Della still her bright shinny self, Perry's still Perry, Burnett is still kick-butt and hot as ever. And all the new character's keeps you guessing until the very end.
Even though you get closure at the end of this book, it still leaves you wanting the next book! I'm a little scared for the next book though, because that means that this series will be coming to a close, and I just want to to keep going. I wish it never had to end! But the want to get all the questions answered is too strong. I want the book now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(less)
