Plain and simple I neglected all my responsibilities the day I picked up this book. Obsidian was just that good. Anytime someone talked to me I'm pretty sure I gave them the evil eye for disturbing me and ignored them and went back to Daemon who I couldn't get enough of. Also just for the record I've never read an alien book since they never appealed to me at all and I'm so glad the first one I decided to pick up was downright amazing.
Katy has just moved into some small middle of nowhere town with her mom because her dad passed away a while back and they are looking for a fresh start. Everything is normal until she meets her neighbors. Dee who instantly becomes friends with Katy is great but her brother Daemon is downright horrible towards her, yet he is always the first one there whenever something bad happens to her and soon she discovers that neither one of them are human but in actuality they are aliens.
Anyways I was sucked in from the beginning I loved the banter between Katy and Daemon. These two characters had some major out of this world chemistry. There were moments Katy wanted to kill him and other moments where she was fighting all that sexual tension. They both know how to push each others buttons and that only leaves for some fiery conversations between the two. Also I loved that Katy was a book blogger that made her relatable instantly for me. Then there is Daemon who has this hot and cold vibe. He is so rude but you can't help but love him especially as we get glimpses of who he really is behind all that obnoxiousness.
Books such as Obsidian are the reasons I love to read and I highly recommend it. ...more
I can't believe I waited so long to read Clockwork Angel. Telling you that it is a captivating beyond breathtaking read barely expresses how much I fell in love with the world and the characters Cassandra Clare has created.
I would love to sit here and talk about every single character in the book since they all were remarkable in their own way but i'll just stick with the three main Tessa, Will and Jem.
I didn't know what to think of Tessa, but as the plot progressed not only did I learn she is a book lover but she is her own person. She does not sit back and just let things happen. She takes action and is not afraid to express herself.
Will, now he is a character I should dislike because of how harsh he is towards Tessa, but I can't help it I love him. We barely get a grasp of who and what he is about. I'm really eager to continue the series just to find out what happened in his past that has made him so "untouchable." The only person that gets through to him is Jem and of course now Tessa.
Jem, oh sweet Jem. I adore him. He is the complete opposite of Will. He is kind, humble, and not afraid to show Tessa he cares for her.
If someone asked me to pick between Will and Jem I would seriously be torn between the two. They are both amazing characters in their own way.
Clockwork Angel has definitely made my list of books to re-read. Usually I read a book - like it and then never pick it up again, but this is one of the rare ones where I will thrust myself into it's world over and over again....more

Connor is If your up for a predictable but fun and flirty light romance I would say pick this up. Megan and Connor have pretty much given up on love. Connor is looking for a woman who he can have a family with but doesn't want an emotional commitment and Megan is getting ready to go to a sperm bank because she wants a child and has given up on finding the perfect guy. The two meet in Vegas and in one wild night get married.
The book literally revolved around Connor and Megan's relationship every once in a while another character would pop their head in but it was all about Megan and Connor and their issues of commitment. I liked the characters for the most part Connor kind of went on my shit list when Megan fell for him and he did the douche bag thing and pushed her away by acting like an ass. What I did enjoy the most out of the book was the banter between the two there were some funny moments which I loved. Overall a quick read....more
I could not get enough of Jude Ryder he is an all around bad boy with the reputation and criminal record to match it. A guy that any sane girl shouldI could not get enough of Jude Ryder he is an all around bad boy with the reputation and criminal record to match it. A guy that any sane girl should stay away from since he literally spells trouble but Lucy Larson saw under all that and instead of staying away she taught him that he was someone that could be loved.
Crash was your typical bad boy falls for good girl and vice versa but what made this one so different was that the characters were witty and both Lucy and Jude had depth to their characters and I found myself emotionally invested in their relationship. Lucy was still dealing with her brothers murder and the impact it had on her family and both her parents changing into the worst, while Jude lives in a group home, his father is in prison, and the police know him on a first name basis.
I wanted to badly give this a five star but the secondary characters weren't as developed as I would have liked them especially since they did play a role in Jude and Lucy's relationship and contributed to them breaking up.
Overall I really really really enjoyed reading Crash and regret having let it just sit around for so long but I'm not making that mistake again I'll be picking up the next book very soon since I have to see how things play out with the two. ...more

This was actually moreI haven't read too many alien based books but the few I've read so far have been freaking awesome and Gravity was no different. This was actually more of a Sci-Fi mixed in with Dystopian. It's the year 2140 and Aliens known as the Ancients travel through portals every night and go to their assigned human for the Taking, the humans are not allowed to know who their ancients are and have to put a patch over their eyes that pretty much paralyzes them during the Taking. So one night Ari can't seem to locate her patch and that night opens her eyes to see a classmate of hers named Jackson hovering on top of her. We find out that Jackson actually wanted Ari to see him and that he needs her to help prevent a war between the Ancients and the Humans.
I loved Ari she is unstoppable with all her military training she has received since a very young age all due to the fact that she will be the future Commander. She doesn't agree with her fathers methods and wants to prevent the war just as much as Jackson so she goes against everything she has ever been taught teams up with Jackson and does what she believes to be the right thing to do. As for Jackson it was easy to like his character but he has a ton of secrets that even now I'm pretty sure there is a lot of things we don't know about him and will find out in the second book.
The world building was pretty great I was able to really get a feel for this future the author created my only beef is I really just wanted more details of the past, before the Ancients and what all really happened to make the world the way it is in 2140.
Overall Gravity was a fast paced read and a bit of a surprise for me since I didn't have any expectations for it and ended up really enjoying it as much as I did ...more

Lily was a fantastic character. She was a very hard individual to sway she believed what she believed and stuck to it. Lily was strong and at times a little hasty with some of her decisions that put her in very dangerous situations but even then she fought hard and I loved her for it. I really enjoyed who she became once she left the world we live in where she was weak and fragile and went to the alternate version where magic is the key to everything not science, it was interesting how everything that made her weak in our world made her incredibly powerful in the other version.
Most of the story is told in Lily's point of view but every once in a while we get point of views from other key characters that help us learn more about the alternate world she is thrown into. I especially like the point of view from the other version of her (Lillian) which helped develop her character to where she wasn't just one dimensional.
Another character whom I loved so much was Rowan. Lily doesn't have a Rowan in her world but there is one in this one and he is just perfect. He has flaws and a very broken past and I don't know he is just one of those characters you have to meet to know why he is just so freaking perfect. We also meet the other version of Tristan who was very likable too bad Lily's Tristan was an ass which is why I am interested to see how thing play out with the Tristan in her world.I am really hoping there will be no love triangle I mean when you have Rowan why the heck would you even want Tristan who has already screwed up royally.
Overall this was an excellent read and with that cliffhanger I am going to be anxiously waiting for the next book.

After recently picking up Cassandra Clare's Clockwork Angel and falling madly in love with it, I picked up a copy of City of Bones the book that I have seen on bookshelves for the past few years and constantly passed up at BN. I can't say I fell in love with this one but I did find it an enjoyable read. Not something I finished in one sitting but still devoured it within a couple of days.
I love the urban fantasy genre and the world created by Clare was a very entertaining one to read about. The world building was of course on point and I could visualize everthing that I was reading. The dialoge flowed and characters seemed real enough, although I didn't find myself attached to any of the characters and I personally couldn't stand Simon.
What really made me upset was the ending the whole Jace-Clary-Valentine relationship took me a minute to take in and than I had to go and ask some of my other fellow blogger buddies if things changed later in the series because otherwise I would have stopped at book one.
Overall I did find this to be a fast read full of intense situations and filled with action packed pages. I did not find it to be what all they hype around it claimed but it still made for an interesting read and i'll be picking up the second book....more

It wasn't until the second half that things picked up and became interesting.
You can tell that Lena has grown and is becoming a much stronger person then the Lena we met in Delirium. Also we get to meet a lot of new characters a few I found interesting. What I didn't care for was the introduction of the new love interest ... I mean why? With the way these books go you already knew the cliffhanger that we are left with in the ending was coming. I found most of it to be pretty predictable, but my curiosity is going to have me finish this series....more
