I read Shattered Veil before and previously reviewed it, and when I saw this book was out as a paperback, I had no choice but to buy it. This is the kind of book that stays with you and you just can't forget it. The character development in here was fantastic to say the least. It was believable and I loved how Aris grew up. How it became so much more than just being about Calix. And her having the strength at the end, right at the last couple of pages? That is just strength that I truly admire. She truly did change, and she wouldn't lie down and simply accept things anymore. She is her own person now, and I think that's truly very empowering.
This is a book that I cannot forget. Its the kind of book that just sits in you and suddenly pops up in your head and leaves you breathless in awe at such a great book. I can't wait to read Storm Fall, and please let it come out as a paperback soon, I really really need it.
And I think I like how its not actually about the romance, but really about Aris herself. I know I know, I love romances like crazy but I think this book would be equally good without the romances in it.
(view spoiler)[ I really do want to see more of Nekos (sorry forgot his first name) and Galena's story, maybe a prequel one day? (hide spoiler)]
Time to go on to Storm Fall! ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

I won’t give a synopsis, because there’s no way I could do justice to it. This book just makes you think about everything. About love, about life, about even the daily things we do. Everything is shown with such innocence from Ivan, with his occasional words of wisdom that just blows you away, and it’s contrasted with Elizabeth’s cynicism. And I think it worked really well. Everything I read was like a direct blow to my heart. I mean, its everything I’ve always felt, yet put into so perfect words it means so much more now. Okay, I don’t even know what I’m talking about anymore haha.
I think its just so beautiful because that’s what love does you know? Love wakes you up, fills you up. It makes you appreciate life, see everything in a new light. And I think every smile she made, every time she leg go of her inhibitions, it was beautiful. What Ivan did for her is the epitome of love. That’s what love means to me. Love wakes you up, makes you feel something more, makes life just that much more worth it.
And I think what Ivan learnt from Opal was that love wasn’t about holding someone back. No, it isn’t. Instead I think he realized that love was supposed to make you grow. And for him to love her, and her to love him back all their life would just be so difficult.
Every time I thought that I had recovered from crying, Cecilia Ahern just writes another beautiful passage and it sets me off again. I read this book in one sitting then spent the next hour flipping through it and crying nonstop. I probably cried more from this book than in the past year hehe. I loved this book so much because it just makes you think about everything in life. It just made me realize that life is truly so much more, and maybe it also reinforced all my beliefs about love. That love really isn’t that complicated after all. ...more
