Through everything he did for her, you could really see his love. One reason that made their love sweeter was because their relationship was never based on sex! It's slightly different from what I'm used to reading but it's sweet all the same!
This time, I could really and truly see his love for her and her for him. It just brings to mind how easily people can fall in love as long as it's with the right guy. I really loved this book. It's certainly worth reading.
Though a little slow and dry at times, I couldnt help but be wowed at how awesome he was. I mean he was so sweet, so wonderful. Kinda makes it impossible for anyone to find that sort of guy.
Well, I won't say anymore just try it for yourself!...more
This was an average book. I mean, there wasn't anything really special in it. It wasn't wonderful but it was a read to pass time.
What I really likedThis was an average book. I mean, there wasn't anything really special in it. It wasn't wonderful but it was a read to pass time.
What I really liked about the book is that Jack didn't try to overwhelm Kate but instead, he took his time to win back her heart. To me, that was really sweet of him, instead of just going real strong into their relationship and spoiling everything.
However, I did feel that in some parts, the storyline wasn't that convincing to me. I mean, what are the chances of meeting the man you were once engaged to at a party he wasn't even invited too? Instead, he was asked to go by someone who wasn't even the host of the party!
Also, I felt that the author didn't cover the part about Lucy lusting after Jack. I mean, it would be nice to see how Jack handled it or after their marriage, how Kate would tell Lucy to back off.
But I must say that the last part gave me a real surprise, one I certainly wasn't expecting. (view spoiler)[The part that it was revealed that Joanna was actually Jack's own flesh and blood. (hide spoiler)] I mean there was completely no clue throughout the book that such a thing would have happened. For that slight twist at the end, I must say it made me sit up.
All in all, this was just an average book. Worth reading only if you have nothing much more interesting to read. Unless you're those kind that like the guy to be really patient and all. And of course, this book was a little dry at parts. But it was still alright! Not bad, but not fantastic. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

Yes, the story line may be a little incredulous at parts, but somehow it just made it all the sweeter to me. I dunno, I'm a sucker for books where the rich guy falls in love with your everyday girl. And the everyday girl has a strong enough character.
At the beginning, it started off pretty slow and I didn't really enjoy reading all that much. But as the book progressed, I found myself sucked into the plot more and more. Without even knowing it, I was addicted.
The book kept me laughing at parts, nearly in tears at others and at one scene actually in tears. But I'm a little over emotional especially when it gets to declarations of love!
Well, I don't want to get into the plot but I'll say this. At some points the story was pretty far-fetched for example, (view spoiler)[when Robbie forced them to get married at gunpoint. I mean, who does that now??? (hide spoiler)]
In the beginning, I couldn't stand Garek, the main guy. I found him annoying, paranoid and egoistical. For goodness sake man, you're not that famous and not everyone is out for your money!!!!!!!!!
Yes. As for Ellie, I found her to be a really intriguing person. I mean she could be so freaking sweet, how does anyone even do that? And somehow find joy in everything. She doesn't seem to be scared of him at all even though he was such a jerk to her at first. Her character though rather implausible, made me laugh many times throughout the book.
But I must say, the biggest laugh I had was when Caspar unveiled his painting. I couldn't stop laughing. Read it, you'll know what I mean:)
All in all, it was a very good book and I enjoyed almost every minute of it. The love story was sweet and realistic though chances of it happening in real life is sadly, very low. Still, a girl can dream right? :)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

I loved every moment of it. Yes, the story was cliché, with the poor woman more or less being coerced into a deal with the rich guy who has crazy amounts of money... You know the sort. But for some reason, these stories are just wonderful. For some reason, they really bring out the meaning of love to me.
Throughout this book, I never once felt bored, I never once felt that the story was too slow. In fact, I wished the story could have been longer so that I could have savored their love for a longer time.
This is gonna be a small spoiler!
Cleo and Andreas were the most unlikeliest couple you could ever meet.
Cleo wasn't a classic beauty, she was barely even considered pretty. A high-school dropout, she was cheated by a man who took her virginity and all the money she had. Hence, she had to work in a hotel as a cleaner. Yes, sad life. But she somehow did it. She didn't shun away from the work, not like many others would have done. She chose to work her way home.
Andreas on the other hand was simply drop-dead gorgeous. Rich, he had turned his company around from bankruptcy. But he was out for revenge. In a way, you could say revenge led him to her. He went to London to get revenge on the man who had stolen his father's fortune and left his father a broken man. In the process, he found so much more then just revenge. He found love, though of course he didn't know it yet.
So, he wanted to discourage his PA from any thoughts of matrimony with him. Hence, he decided to get a fake mistress. Yes, I know it sounds stupid. It's very unrealistic yes. But somehow, there's where the beauty is in.
Blah blah blah he found her, go read it for yourself to find out how! :) He took her back to Greece with him. A little off-topic here, but is it me or are Greek and Italian men in romance books just awesomely hot, super rich, and just amazing? Anyway, what happens next I'm sure you can figure out. I mean what can a hot-blooded Greek male do with a girl who turns out to be pretty gorgeous when all dressed up? And who actually has curves? Whatever, I always find myself jealous of the heroines in romance novels. They're too beautiful for their own good! But whatever:)
So basically, they fall in love. But as usual, the guy never realises until she's gone. Of course she knows, but she's not someone who will ask for more than what she deserves. In fact, she doesn't even take what she deserves! After he finally realises he loves her, he goes to Australia looking for her. He finds her. Declares his love for her. They get married. Live happily ever after. Though it may seem stupid, there's just something about it that makes me smile.
This book made me laugh and made me cry. As usual, it was when he finally admitted he loved her and all he wanted was her. I know I read this in practically all the romance books I read, but honestly, it's just so sweet! All the heroes in this books have so different characters, yet they would go all the way for love in the end.
However, there was one part that I felt that the author could have elaborated on. (view spoiler)[The part when he returned to find her gone because of what Petra (?) said? (hide spoiler)] I felt that she should have elaborated a little more on how both parties felt. It would have made what was an awesome book, in my opinion, even better.
All in all, I truly loved this book. Yes, the story line may have been unrealistic and all. I mean, how often do you find a seriously hot guy trying to find a pretend mistress that won't expect anything? That aside, the love that they felt for each other really touched my heart and made me feel really good. Somehow, the way the author wrote it made me feel like I could be there actually, with such a hot guy loving me for me. Sigh... It's such an impossible thing to happen but romance novels always make me hope. Especially such impossible romances.
It's been such a long time since I've read such a good Harlequin book. A more or less perfect one in my opinion. But really, this book made my day. It's certainly worth reading!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

What started off as a really good and interesting book slowly dwindled down to a boring story. I found the plot interesting. I mean, its different you know. This time, the girl's past really isn't all that fantastic. The banter between the 2 main characters had me chuckling many times. But slowly, as the book progressed, this banter became rather non-existent. Instead, they quarreled over ridiculous things.
Simon was very nice in the beginning. The typical hot and rich businessman. But he wasn't ruthless or any such things like that. He was a very nice person. But later on, the argument between him and Audrey made me feel he was just overreacting. I mean, seriously?
The plot was convincing at first, but slowly I felt that it lost coherence. The story was still there, but somehow I felt that this couldn't really be considered a romance. Sure, they were attracted to each other and all, but being in lust with someone definitely does not equate to being in love with a person. The story focused more on how Audrey tried to get back her daughter's forgiveness and how he helped her. I couldn't feel the love between Audrey and Simon. In fact, they never did once say they loved each other. Sure, it was implied, but I dunno, to me, a romance isn't really a romance without the declarations of love. Cheesy yes, but its just so sweet.
When I first started reading the book, I was engrossed. But slowly, I found myself reading the book not really for enjoyment, but rather, I just wanted to finish the book and get to the end where they would declare their love blah blah blah. To my surprise, there wasn't even that.
All in all, this book could have turned out to be a very good book. Perhaps, its just not for me. After all, I do prefer books that focus on the romance, how and why they fall in love, not so much their relationships with the other characters.
Still, this book wasn't that bad. It started off with 5 stars, but later, the ending was 1-2 stars....more

I was completely in love with it. Alexei was so freaking hot I was just freaking out over him. I dunno, I just like the kind of guy who's rich, hot, sexy, handsome, whatever.
But then it slowly wasn't that nice anymore. I dunno, I felt the part about the wedding and her decision leading up to it was way too rushed. I mean, it would have been nice to see her struggle to decide and all.
Before that though, her life story working with him and all was amazing. I loved it. It was really convincing and I felt that such a thing could really happen. Improbable, yes. But still, it really touched my heart.
Other than the really rushed ending, I really loved the book. However, I felt that after he lost that bit of his memory, the book just didn't seem that great. I mean, the sexual tension between them was like whoa. And his every action was so wonderful and amazing. I dunno, but after that I felt that the book wasn't that amazing. And what a pity, it had a really engaging and interesting beginning. From the first word, I was hooked.
Still, the book made me want to read the next in the series which I'm doing right now.
All in all, this was a very good book, but it could have been perfect if the ending was a little more elaborated on and not so rushed through. I dunno, weddings are supposed to be beautiful. I guess it was, but those scenes didn't really do it for me....more

Ahh... This book really made me smile, scream, and cry. I loved almost every moment of it. It was honestly a very well-written story. To me, Billie was an excellent heroine for this book. She complimented Alexei's personality perfectly, even though they were so different.
Sigh.. I especially loved the part when he told her in that deep sexy voice of his (I know its a book, but well, it's fun to imagine!), that he really didn't want a divorce and that he wanted her to give their marriage a try again.
Alexei was in a word, amazing. Yes, he was a freaking jerk in the beginning, but honestly, Billie's story was hard to believe. Still, at least he finally accepted Nicky as his son. Though he had to take the DNA test to be certain... Well but i think he made up for all his past transgressions when he was so sweet to her. When he kept trying to make their marriage work. He was so possessive of her, that in a way, it became sweet. Yes, it would have been annoying to her, but to me, I felt that through those actions of his, he really displayed his love, though in a rather weird way.
Billie was wonderful too. She was strong, and well, I've always appreciated heroines who can push away their oh-so-hot husbands or lovers. She did that and I really admired her for that. I mean, she didn't give in to her hormones so easily but stood firm on her stand that she didn't do casual sex. Yes, they were married but she didn't want to sleep with him if it was for the wrong reasons. After that though, when she had the courage to take the first step and go to his room for the night, I was just like aww...
So all in all this was a really great book! Yes, some parts were a little boring but I really enjoyed the read as a whole! This book and the other, The Pregnancy Shock, which is the first book in the series, may have a cliche storyline but it was a very good read indeed....more
