I meant Percy was nice, kind, cute, and all, while Annabeth was all smart and though girl, and Glover? I dont really pay attention on him. But on this book really they're getting on my nerve! I hate Percy for being insensitive. I hate Annabeth for how she acted toward Rachel. I hate Glover's obsession with Pan. (dasar bocah-bocah... -.-")
And my up moments presented by Nico! He's really interesting and I like to see how he'd grow up.
If it's not for the dystopian claim, I'd give it higher star, maybe. Because for a story claimed as dystopian it didn't felt dystopian enough for me.

Ok, let's put aside that, considered it's me-not-book case. I do enjoy the story. The mystery kept me guessing, and the action manage to kept me awake. And I do enjoy the romance between Nox & Cade though I think it's happened too fast. And I knew it's first book for a series so I dont get all the answer, but why they left New York City ruined? It's cheaper to left it than to rebuild? What kind of reason is that? I meant, we talking about New York City! NYC didn't have a plague, it's just ruined from the storm! Remember when Japan rebuild Nagasaki and Hiroshima?! Also the book failed to describe how massive the storm was so NYC better to left ruined!
Last but not least, I hope Sam & Mason got their own book. (^..^)v (less)

1. Romance I hate the new girl Brenda. She's got all touchy and cuddly with Thomas, the moment she met her. And the most annoyed thing is Thomas was like "oh Brenda is beautiful I like her, but I can't kiss her because she's not Theresa" WTF?! And how in the world he's instantly trust her and willing to be dragged all around the city by her, no matter how suspicious Brenda?!
And why bother with the lame-cheesy romance sih? -.-"
2. The Survival stuff While the maze in first book was a very fascinating yet deadly structure to test the boys, this scorch trials is not even close to that. They're like bunch of boys scout went on hiking in a ruined city full of Crank. All the have to do was cover from the heat and the storm, stay away from the Crank! No solving mystery, no running for life, no deadly monsters... Hey, even Thomas and that bitch Brenda manage to partying with the Crank!
The opening scene when they're on the tunnel was full of suspense but it's disappeared right when they get on the surface. And the fight on the ending was bit too late and too short. I didn't feel the suspense like when they fights the Grievers.
Another thing that rather pointless and made me rolled my ayes was when Theresa and Aris act to betrayed Thomas. What's the point to make Thomas feel betrayed if in the end Theresa told Thomas that she's only acted.
The only thing that made me through the story is Minho and his dynamic with Thomas! Their chemistry is one of the top thing that made me read this book at first place. Very enjoying Minho's snarky-sarcastic comments, while Thomas was like sassy-bitchy bitch!
And for my fellows thominho enthusiast, here's your treats ^,,^
Thomas care how he looks in front of Minho (view spoiler)[ He whipped out his sheet, then pulled it over himself and wrapped it tightly around his face like an old woman in a shawl. "How do I look?" "Like the ugliest shanky girl I've ever seen," Minho responded. "You better thank the gods above you were born a dude." "Thanks" (hide spoiler)]
Minho desperate to see Thomas' smile (view spoiler)["Yeah, right," Minho said. "And Frypan's gonna start having little babies,Winston'll get rid of his monster acne, and Thomas here'll actualy smile for once."
Thomas turned to Minho and exaggerated a fake smile. "There, you happy?" (hide spoiler)]
Minho will protect Thomas with his life (view spoiler)[Thomas thought of the tattoo on the back of his neck. Those simple words that scared him. "Maybe when she said 'you' she didn't mean all of us." He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder, pointing down at his menacing mark."Maybe she meant me specificially. Couldn't tell where her eyes were looking."
"How's she gonna know who you are?" Minho retorted. "Plus, doesn't matter. If someone tries to kill you, or me, or anyone else, they might as well try to get all of us. Right?"
"You're so sweet,"Frypan said with a snort. "Go ahead and die with Thomas. I think I'll sneak away and enjoy living with the guilt." (hide spoiler)]

I've seen the movie first which I loved and enjoyed immensely, thus I already knew its twist which made my reading less trill.
But I do enjoy the book as well though I think it's rather boring compare to the movie. The Maze Runner movie is the good example of how to slightly alter the source material while staying true to its spirit. (less)

And I'm in love with Tyler & Memphis ♥,,♥
I was indifferent on Tyler in the first book, I meant he's not strike me as jerk ex. And in this story, I saw the different side of Tyler. Tyler the volunteer doctor, Tyler who been disowned by his adopting parent for being gay, Tyler who been abandoned by her own mother at four and lose her for cancer...
Then there... Memphis Haines, the jerk ex, at least that what I knew from book 1. He left Tyler 10 years go, without a goodbye, without even that post-it notes! But again, there's a lot of history and story between Tyler & Memphis which made me rolling around in emotions!
And the excitement of this book not stopped at Tyler & Memphis! I got a chance to a glimpse of Alec & Dylan waiting for their baby, and OMG.... NOAH! I cant wait for his story!
Overall, I'm loving it better than the first book! (sorry for the exclamation mark abuse... ^,,^)(less)
