He was more prevalent in the last book with his sorta relationship with Jess, so I felt like I had gotten to see the addictive side of him. I actually started liking Krit a lot in this book. He was pretty sweet with Blythe and I loved finally seeing that side of him. Krit definitely grew on me as the book went on.
Blythe on the other hand...I really had a difficult time understanding her. There were some contradictory things with her that bothered me, but overall, I did like her. She was definitely the right fit for Krit's craziness.
This wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was pretty good. The series has gained a lot of momentum and I really enjoy the characters. I love that we get to see the old characters every time we get a new book. I always look forward to catching up with them. ...more
Holy crap. This second book in the Throne of Glass series was everything that I had wanted in the first book and more. Celaena was awesome. She kickedHoly crap. This second book in the Throne of Glass series was everything that I had wanted in the first book and more. Celaena was awesome. She kicked so much butt in this book and was ridiculously strong even through some very tough, heart wrenching moments. I can’t stop freaking out about all of the things that happen in this book. I can’t even talk about any of them in my review because I don’t want to spoil any of them.
This is fantasy writing at its best. The world is complex and wonderful. The characters are strong and multifaceted. There is more to everyone than meets the eye. I cannot wait to continue to pull back the layers of each of them to see what is waiting for us to learn. I loved Chaol in the first book, but he really takes the book boyfriend title in this one. The things he learns, the things he does for Celaena…I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I can tell now after this book, that this is going to be one of those series that I hate waiting for. I couldn’t put this book down, but at the same time I didn’t want to finish it. It took me a lot longer than necessary to finish it because you can’t read a book for the first time more than once and that first time means something. This series is going on my wish list and has become a new favorite. Now all I have to say is…is it September yet? ...more

They were both just secondary characterI really loved this book in the Sea Breeze series. I wasn’t expecting to like Jess and Jason as much as I did. They were both just secondary characters in other people’s books and neither of them were ever really exciting in those books. Jess was always painted as a crazy girl who was extremely easy. Jason seemed lame and wishy washy. Together though, they seemed to bring each other to life. On top of that Abbi Glines developed them into really interesting characters. Especially Jess. She was more than what she seemed and it was great to see. I'm really enjoying this series and I can't wait to finish it....more
This is exactly what I was worried about. I didn’t understand why Eva and Cage couldn’t have just had their happily ever after throughout the rest ofThis is exactly what I was worried about. I didn’t understand why Eva and Cage couldn’t have just had their happily ever after throughout the rest of the series. I didn’t understand why they had to have another book and I was worried that these characters were going to change or do something stupid. And of course they did. I get so annoyed when couples who are supposed to be in strong, healthy relationships let misunderstandings and stupidity get in their way. Eva should have listened to Cage. Cage should have never let himself get put in the situation he was put in. He should have made the smart decision sooner than he did.
I feel bad for Jeremy. He’s the one character that I would really love to see have a happy ending. He’s been kind of strung along throughout these two books and he’s gone through a lot. The man deserves some happiness; hopefully we can see it at some point along the way. Even if it’s just as a side note in someone else’s story. I enjoyed this book even though it frustrated me. I am really enjoying this series. The books are emotional, yet quick easy reads. I look forward to reading even more by Abbi Glines. ...more
