When the email came out for the book tour saying that Body and Bow was also available for review, I just knew I had to do it. The blurb was enticing and I wanted to see how Ms. Brocker was going to combine these elements of erotica, BDSM and music into a story. I found Ms. Brocker’s usage of musical terms where beautifully stated and complimented what was happening in the book just perfectly. It was also describing how my own body was reacting to the scenes. The passion and power described in the book, though were quickly attained for a real life situation, it made me smile to see that someone else’s imagination could develop characters as quick as my own. Both Leonard and Marco were described in such a way that they were visually appealing through the power of words and this is where I will admit, that not only would I have wanted to have been Klarissa in this book, I completely fell in love with the character of Marco. He was such a complete contrast to Leonard yet oh so similar. This is the type of book that I would recommend to read in a huge bubble bath with an icy cold bottle of wine on hand and yes even classical music playing softy in the background to completely get you in the mood for some truly wonderful and memorable fantasies to occur. I would love to say more but if I do—well I would just be giving the entire story away and that would not be fair! Body and Bow is getting a 4 out of 5 from me. Would have been a 5 out of 5 if it had not been for the fact that at the top of each page, there was either the author’s name appearing (great way not to forget who wrote this) or it would be the chapter name which I found broke up my momentum in reading at times. Well done Ms. Brocker, I will definitely be looking out for more of your work! (less) | Notes are private!

The imagery was exquisite, the pace just perfect and I found myself flushed--breathing heavily in time with Ashley and Fox. The perfect read on a warm spring day. Viva Jones is a writer to keep an eye on. Verona by Geoff Chaucer I had never thought that combing a fetish like Golden Showers and the Opera would work well together in a storyline—boy was I wrong. Never before have I read a story about GS that was not crass or overdone. This was just perfect. Geoff Chaucer is certainly a deft hand at weaving a delightful erotic tale. Lights Out by M.A. Stacie Lights Out left me wanting more. M.A. Stacie was able to build the heat level up so well and keep it at its peak at the end, that it had me wanting to know what else would happen. This would be a great novella if fleshed out more. Saturday on a Tuesday by Giselle Renarde What can I say, this turned out to be an exciting, breathless read. I won’t give the story away except to say this reader wanted to feel everything that Liddy was feeling. The sex scene was very well written and evocative. The background story was insightful and paced well. I would love to read more of Giselle’s work. A name definitely to look for. Glory Box by Cassandra Dean It was heartwarming to read a story with my hometown in it as the backdrop. Mind you that seemed to slip away when the simplistic beauty of the music was described. I honestly thought that it couldn’t get any better than that—I was dead wrong! Ms. Dean managed to make the sex scene one of where you were biting your lip, wondering what would happen next, feeling the intensity of the moment. Well done Cassandra Dean, you have written a brilliant and eloquent short story. The Conjurer by Tabitha Rayne I found The Conjurer to not only be different in the fact that it is the first time I have read an erotic story that has a main character with a disability but the sensuality Tabitha Rayne gave to this character and her situation was mind blowing. Brilliant use of description had me wanting to know if Ms. Rayne had actually tried what she had written about to be able to describe in detail what was going on. Excellent piece! Within The Crumbling Walls by Lucy Lawless I will admit that I am a fan of Lucy Lawless and that she has a remarkable way of not only making you feel like you are in a scene but also of making you feel like a voyeur as you read about the characters sexual exploits. Loved this story but would like to learn more about this couples adventures. Taking Care of Business by Lexi Bay What a wonderful read this was. I felt like I was reading one of those old mobster stories. Lexi Bay managed to convey the lust and heated love that the main character felt with exquisite detail. Great job! Mad Fer It In Manchester by Victoria Blisse What a wonderfully light read. I loved the sharp way she wrote the dialogue between Lauren and Stuart. If only my years at having to attend lectures and workshops were as interesting as it ended up being for this couple, I would never have had a problem attending. Job well done Ms. Blisse. Love Of My Life by Wendi Zwaduk This story had me close to tears. It would have been nice to have more of their back story though and perhaps for this section to not have been so quick. All in all though I did enjoy this immensely and would hope that Ms. Zwaduk will eventually release a more comprehensive story of Love Of My Life. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. A Tale of Two Sisters by Toni Sands My favorite combinations, sinful food and sex. I was actually upset to find I had come to the end of the story. Definitely a story to take your time with, just like a very good meal. Neighbors by Harper Bliss I wasn’t actually sure what to expect when I first started reading Neighbors but I was extremely surprised and extremely wet by the time I finished it. Warning though, you might need to have a towel with you. Underground Encounter by Tamsin Flowers Ms. Flowers has a way of describing sexual tension that forces itself upon your own body. The story is sharp, flowing and very interactive. I found I was a bit disappointed when the story ended but I did have a huge grin on my face. Definitely want to try the “Circle Challenge” for myself one day. A Long Hot Summer by Sommer Marsden Well what a wonderfully sweet and delicious way to finish this anthology. Ms. Marsden weaved her words in such a way that my mouse couldn’t scroll fast enough to get to the next page. In other words reader, this is a page turner. Life is Sweet and so is this story. My overall thoughts. Don’t deny yourself a chance at a wonderful collection of stories that will have you smiling, giggling, sighing and wanting to experience for yourself all these unique and pleasurable situations. I am giving Smut In The City 5 Bites. (less) | Notes are private!

The first being that I was aware of Slave Nano’s previous book, Alice in Fetishland and the synopsis to The Pagan Sorceress completely drew me in. It sounded like it had all the potential to make a truly wonderful read. Now I would like you to remember that the opinion about to be given is just that—my opinion. The book started in modern day England and quickly switched over to England of old. This I found was to be ongoing and to this reader’s mind, very confusing. It would have been great to have seen this book put into chapters and not just broken up by the placement of asterisks. I struggled to get through half of the book before having to contact the author himself and ask if the file I had received was a final edit or if it was a first stage edit due to grammatical and typo errors. The author was very kind in advising me that the parts I was having trouble with were how he thought someone from that era would tell the story. This gave me room for pause as to how I was going to review the book because up until then, I will admit I was looking at a nice way to say…don’t bother. The story itself is intriguing and I admire Slave Nano for his attempts at writing old English. The setting’s and descriptive use of imagery were wonderful but again this jumping back and forth pulled away from the storyline, leaving it wanting and lacking. My suggestion to Slave Nano and it is only a suggestion, is that if he were to change the way he presented the story of The Pagan Sorceress to start with a prologue introducing Cynburh and Alhfrith, it would be easier on the reader. Add into that clear, defined chapter’s and it doesn’t have to be chapter one, chapter two and so on but even name the chapters, it will give the reader a better understanding of where the author is taking them. Conclusion: Overall Slave Nano had the basis for a very intriguing and brilliant story line and had it worked out perfectly, I would have whole-heartedly been able to give it a 5 star review. Due to the previously mentioned flaws I felt were present in the book, I have no choice but to give it a 2 star rating. Again these views are mine and mine alone and should not stop anyone else from choosing to purchase the book themselves and see what they think of The Pagan Sorceress. (less) | Notes are private!

The slower pace and relaxed lifestyle took some getting used to, but came with certain…benefits, his upstairs neighbor. The voluptuous woman intrigued him, but what about her ex—and her policeman brother? Was part of Carlos’ new life going to include a new love? He had a lot to learn about…The Girl Upstairs. My Thoughts After having read and reviewed Mr Sostre’s first book, Their First Night Together, I was looking forward to reading his latest book The Girl Upstairs to see how much his writing had improved and if going with an e-book publisher with editors would make any difference to his writing and appeal. Again the story was fresh and appealing. The chemistry between Bella and Carlos sizzled. I personally felt that Mr Sostre’s portrayl of the older, protective brother, Sal to sound like something he may have had experience with in real life. Mr Sostre’s writing has improved immensely, as is shown in the tightness of his paragraphs and the easy flow of dialogue he has going between his two main characters. Minor characters were introduced in a way that you didn’t ask yourself what their background story was or expect to see them any further in the story. Well done Mr Sostre, that is a very hard part of writing to have down pat and you sir, not only managed it but gave enough to the reader to make their introduction plausible. Now for those of you who know my style of reviewing, you already know that I will say it like it is and I am saddened to have to point out the only downfall to what is truly a delightful read. As I said in my first paragraph, I wanted to see if having editors working for a publisher would make a difference to his writing. Yes Mr Sostre has grown in his ability to weave a story that would appeal to both sexes and that is always a plus. What would have made this story truly shine, is if the editor had done their job. As a reader first, editor second and writer third, I am shocked that they allowed Mr Sostre’s book to be published without doing a final check. Missing words, incorrect spelling, formatting all over the place, does not a memorable book make. I understand this is out of Mr Sostre’s control but it is definitely something I would suggest Mr Sostre to bring up to his editor and have rectified. I always like to end with this note when I have found errors that are not the fault of the author and that is--my thoughts and views are my own and should not reflect from other people’s enjoyment of The Girl Upstairs. I am going to give The Girl Upstairs a 4 out of 5 because of Mr Sostre’s excellent progression as a writer. I have a 4 year old grandson whom I think would enjoy this, due to its easy understanding of words and the bright colors and pictures used. The only thing that I couldn't work out was how the cloud, James, could be Donald's father... Well done Rob, you truly have a knack!(less) | Notes are private!

Not a long read but definitely a very steamy read. The character’s had depth and I found that Ms. Sheridan kept this going with the witty repartee between Melodie and Elliot. A very amusing read, with your heroine, your hero and of course your dastardly villain. My only problem with the story was the ending. It just petered out after leading you on an intense erotic journey. But other than that, it is a book I would recommend for your TBR when you have an hour to spare.(less) | Notes are private!

Getting stuck into the book, I found the writing of Ms. O’Connor to be very refreshing. Seriousness mixed with a quirkiness that is easy to read and not be bored with. Her characters were well conceived and depicted. The interaction between them ebbed and flowed in the same manner as she had written the sex scenes, utterly delightful. Overall the story itself may not be a truly original concept but the way Ms. O’Connor executes her words, makes it a truly memorable read. I would recommend Lure of Forever, to anyone who has a love of Vampire, Shifter, Paranormal books. Doris O’Connor is definitely a writer to keep an eye on with future releases.(less) | Notes are private!

I’ve always been a fan of Ms. Felthouse’s work. She has a unique style of being able to bring even the smallest detail to life for the reader and THE COTTAGE IN THE WOODS is no exception. The way Heidi and Ava were described, their lustful innocence, the urgency with which they meet made for a good paced story. I liked the way that the vulnerability of both women were touched on and quickly assuaged by the other with gestures that spoke volumes. What else can I say about THE COTTAGE IN THE WOODS that won’t be giving away those subtle nuances that will make you smile! Definitely a must buy book and one you will be able to pick up in six months, twelve months even two years and greet like an old faithful friend. I would have given THE COTTAGE IN THE WOODS 5 bites n kisses out of 5 had there been some detail as to why Heidi was so reclusive but that may be just me. (less) | Notes are private!

When I was given the opportunity to read Pain and Revenge by John Simpson, I jumped at it. I had no idea that John was an established Author with an array of books to his credit. So I pretty much went into this book with no pre-conceived notions. Pain and Revenge comes with a warning about it having a rape scene in the book. This scene was integral to the story line and I for one did not find any problems with it at all. If anything my heart bled for our hero, James Elliot. I found the story to be extremely well written, with wonderfully descriptive situations. The tone of the book was set very quickly. James works for the CIA and has been transferred from the United States to England. The Company gives him his assignment; seduce Gregor Malakoff, a GRU agent for the Russians. This is when we find out that James is actually gay as is Gregor, who loves his leather and hard BDSM. Okay so as not to give much more away, I found the book as I said to be well written, with incredible detail towards the “undercover agent” portion. I found the book to be refreshing, knowledgeable; extremely on the “Woah… the ice is melting” side but above all ranking up high on my best reads list. The combination of suspense, BDSM and political motivation and not to mention the extremely flammable sex scenes was to me a page turner. Highly recommend it to any adult that likes their erotic gay male fiction to be that bit more volatile and steamy. I am giving Pain and Revenge by John Simpson a 6*bites n kisses* out of 5. FORCED FANTASIES by CASSANDRE DAYNE ISBN: 9780987853950 PAGES: 102 GENRE: Gay Male Fantasy, Heavy BDSM, Menage PUBLISHER: Naughty Nights Press COVER ARTIS...more FORCED FANTASIES by CASSANDRE DAYNE ISBN: 9780987853950 PAGES: 102 GENRE: Gay Male Fantasy, Heavy BDSM, Menage PUBLISHER: Naughty Nights Press COVER ARTIST: Shane Willis – RadAct Photography BUY LINKS: Amazon – Smashwords – All Romance Erotica (aRE) SYNPOSIS Devlin Carter yearned to find a new life including a career that allowed him more freedom to be the man he’d buried inside. Longing for a partner to share his dark cravings of being owned and collared, he fought his personal demons wearing a conservative mask but something had to give. Stumbling onto Dark Obsession, an Internet Fetish Community that catered to every kinky need, he was intrigued. Invited to a very posh and private party hosted by the owner of the site, Devlin was concerned co-workers would find out about his exotic hungers and he’d lose his job. Granger Williams, Staff Master to all that knew him, savored owning the extensive Internet site with his partner and lover, Tanner Simpson. Enjoying all flavors of BDSM, they shared a life together but they both held a horrible secret and one Granger refused to talk about. For some reason Granger couldn’t keep his mind off of the very sexy Devlin and against his better judgment invited the newbie to the highly sought after event. After all, Tanner wanted him to find a new partner before it was too late. Unfortunately fate had other ideas. Torn apart, could the two souls forgive and learn to deal with the unfolding tragedy? MY THOUGHTS Where to begin with Forced Fantasies? Do I start with the language that is used that can pull a reader into the emotional turmoil that our lead character, Devlin is feeling? Or do I start with the love and friendship that is so profoundly felt between Granger and Tanner? Then again I can begin with how there are still so many small minded people out there who refuse to allow people to not only live their lives the way they want but in the way that they want. I can talk about how Ms. Dayne managed to portray the effects of how politics can not only determine the way we respond and act in our public lives but how at times we have to hide behind that mask of normalcy, too scared to let the real “us” out. So let me talk instead about how wonderfully executed I found this book to be. FORCED FANTASIES was in a way an eye opener for me but not a shocker. I seriously loved the way Ms. Dayne was able to explore the other side of BDSM within this book. It shows that she does do her research into what is and is not always the norm for those in the lifestyle. Her depiction of the characters unfolds before your eyes and before you know it, you have slipped into their characters, feeling their pain and elation and most importantly their pleasure! There is so much I want to say about FORCED FANTASIES but I feel if I do then I will be giving the storyline away and that would be a shame as I do believe it is a story that needs to be read to really do it justice. So to use my favorite quote from FORCED FANTASIES “Will you dare to walk on the darker side of steamy sex?” If you say yes, then this is the book for you! RATING I give Cassandre Dayne’s FORCED FANTASIES 7 *bites n kisses* out of 5 (Yes I really do think it is THAT good) EXCERPT Gliding into the room, he swallowed hard as he gazed around the perimeter. The hallowed space was lit with sconce lights flanking the rich crimson walls. Granger clenched his hands open and closed as he stared first at the chains swaying back and forth from the ceiling and second at the thick rope meant for binding. His legs quaked as he walked toward the wooden stool they had purchased together several months before. The polished cherry was affectionately titled ‘the throne’ and was meant as a place of reverence for both men when they were in charge. The mat in front was nothing more than a placeholder for the sub to know his place. Kneeling slowly, Granger held the submissive stance, his legs apart, head down, waiting in peaceful solitude for Tanner’s arrival. As they often told their other subjects, this moment of quiet was meant for honest reflection of desires and the understanding of what discipline was needed. As the lull of gothic guitar strings drew him into an inner sanctum, he heard Tanner’s approach. Tanner brushed his hand through Granger’s cropped hair as he inhaled deeply before jerking it back and gazing into his eyes. “Very good. I think you’re going to enjoy tonight.” Lifting Granger’s head he slid a finger down the side of Granger’s shimmering cheek as he chuckled darkly. “I can tell you hunger. First you sate my needs and then we’ll see.” Slapping Granger’s face just once, he smiled. Granger swallowed hard and licked his lips in appreciation. Tanner’s thick, black cock stood at full attention, the bulbous tip twitching. Tanner pressed the tip of his finger across the seam of Granger’s mouth and smiled before yanking Granger fully onto his knees by his hair. Hissing, he lowered his gaze to Granger’s cock. “Not quite hard enough for me.” Granger shivered and sucked in his breath as Tanner grabbed the rope and stretched it out. “You forget your place sometimes. You also forget my needs.” Nodding, Granger couldn’t deny that he’d been unwilling to move away from his beloved Internet site. He also knew the true reason and resisted allowing the ugly thoughts to overwhelm him. Tonight was about rekindling their passion. Tanner shook his head as he lowered onto his knees. Placing the rope by his side he pressed the tips of his fingers across Granger’s mouth before shoving them inside. “Suck.” Obeying the command instantly, he suckled Tanner’s fingers, licking them furiously as Tanner drove them into his mouth with enough force that Granger could barely remain on his knees. “Yes. Very good little boy you are.” Tanner cocked his head as he slid his hand down to Granger’s chest. Taking Granger’s nipple in between his thumb and forefinger, he pinched and twisted as he growled, the timbre husky . The slice of sheer anguish rushed through his system and for a moment Granger stopped his single commanded action. Twack! Tanner slapped Granger’s cock hard with his hand. “You obey or the punishment will be worse.” “Mmmm…” His body shuddering, Granger whimpered and sucked Tanner’s fingers as the man pushed them into the back of his throat. Fighting not to choke, he concentrated on his required task and controlled his breathing. “Better.” Yanking his fingers out, Tanner picked up the rope and raised his eyebrow. “I want you hard and ready for me.” As he slowly placed the rope behind Granger’s thighs, looping them around and through his legs, he smiled. “I wonder if your pretty boy would like this.” Granger grunted but remained quiet. Now was not the time to speak. Tanner would flog him for hours. Tanner wound the rope around the base of Granger’s cock, pulling it tight until the thick muscle stood at full attention. “Lovely.” Between the friction of the rope as it dug into his tender flesh and the tension, Granger blinked furiously as beads of perspiration trickled down his back. Tanner tied off the rope and purred as he wet a single finger and pressed it across Granger’s sensitive slit. “I have this craving to suck you but you don’t deserve to cum yet. Perhaps later.” He stroked Granger’s shaft, pumping up and down roughly. “Good little boy.” Smacking the tip, he pursed his lips before rising onto his feet. Granger watched his lover move toward the bench, settling onto the smooth wood. Uncomfortable from the angle and the tightness of the rope, he shivered. Tanner sighed. Opening his legs wide, Tanner beckoned to him. “Yes. I’m ready for you now.” Granger inched forward on his knees as he drank in the sweet essence of the man’s sex. “That’s it. Come and taste.” Tanner’s cock jutted straight forward, his needs obvious by the veins on either side of his shaft sticking out. As Granger eased between the man’s massive legs, he slid his hands up Tanner’s thighs. His object of perfection was muscular and sexy as hell and Granger enjoyed tasting his cock like no other man. Leaning over, he darted his tongue out, licking just the tip. “You know what happens if you tease me. I suggest you follow orders tonight.” Granger knew all too well having been forced to fuck Tanner in very forbidden locations, none of which were secure but the simple truth was, he loved tempting the man into carnal actions and tonight would be no different yet he was too hungry not to indulge. Pushing Tanner’s legs further open, Granger brushed his fingertips up to the crack of Tanner’s ass, teasingly brushing the tips up and down in a lazy fashion. Gripping the base of Tanner’s cock, he pumped the thick muscle as he drew his mouth over the tip, suckling as he dragged his tongue across the sensitive slit. “Mmm…been far too long my boy toy. You’re going to pay for your indiscretions,” Tanner growled as he gripped Granger’s head, keeping him in position. “Take more.” Granger didn’t need any direction. As he went down on Tanner’s throbbing shaft an inch at a time, he relaxed his throat and used a combination of his hands stroking with almost savage moves, friction forcing Tanner up from the bench and his jaw muscles clamping tightly. Using the other hand, he squeezed Tanner’s balls until the man tipped his head back and roared. “Yyyyyeeeessss! Goddamn this feels good.” He clawed the edge of the bench with one hand and used the power of his upper body to lift up, meeting Granger’s mouth with long, hard drives. Granger sucked with manic motions as he took him all the way down, allowing his lips to rest on the base. Holding this position, he sucked and licked in lazy zigzags before taking his dick all the way out of his mouth and hungrily nipping down to Tanner’s balls. “Mmmm…” “You’re on fire tonight,” Tanner breathed as he lolled his head back. “The rope is a very good reminder of what I need.” Entwining his fingers in Granger’s hair, he pushed Granger’s head savagely. Granger knew the man wasn’t going to allow him to tease much longer. Taking first one tender ball into his mouth and then the other, he squeezed them as Tanner’s legs trembled. There was nothing he enjoyed more than taking a man in his hot wet mouth. Grunting, he grazed his teeth back up his shaft before licking the first drops of pre-cum from the tip. Savoring the flavor, he engulfed him, taking his cock all the way down and began pumping the base in savage motions. “Fuck!” Tanner tightened his hold and began fucking Granger’s mouth in even, deep drives, each pass slicing against the back of Granger’s throat. Granger kept up the frenetic pace knowing that his chocolate-laced lover couldn’t hold back his raging orgasm much longer. Panting, he sucked harder as Tanner tossed his head back and forth. “Yyyyeeesss…ohoh…whew…” Encouraged, Granger slid his hand down the crack of Tanner’s ass, easily finding his dark hole as he eased back up to suckle his cock head. Plunging two fingers inside Tanner’s tight cavern, the effect was instantaneous. “Aaaahhhhh!” Tanner jerked his body up from the wooden platform, impaling the entire length of his shaft deep inside Granger’s mouth. As his body shook involuntarily, he repeated the move twice before exploding into Granger’s mouth. (less) | Notes are private!

The problem is, they're missing their third. Hoping to find the woman meant only for them, Harley and Jackson embark on a ride of seduction as they try to convince their delectable new resident, Raven Peters, just how good life can be with two men. Falling in love has never been so tasty and rarely does it happen so quickly. Can anyone say one week-romance? In Clifford Arbor, anything is possible and anything can happen. One-week in Clifford Arbor holds a lifetime of promise. My Thoughts: I found myself quite intrigued with the synopsis of CLIFFORD ARBOR: THE SEDUCTION OF RAVEN PETERS. The idea of being in a relationship with two men certainly peaked my interest, especially wondering if hubby would be interested. This book looked like it was going to be the perfect story about the Polyamorous lifestyle. Ms. Crescent had me hooked from the first page. Her description of our two males, had me catching my breath at how well I could envision them within in my mind. The hard but gentle qualities and dark looks of Jake, had my body beginning to react but then throw in the qualities of Harley, blond hair, blue eyes, passionate and I was a goner. The pace of the book was well kept. Ms. Crescent has a knack of being able to keep that anticipatory feeling increasing in not only her characters but this reader as well. I could gush over her writing style, the real life drama that people go through and how natural the feelings between her characters felt. But…if I do then I would be taking away the absolute joy at seeing Ms. Crescent put words together that have you wishing you were involved in the story somehow and experiencing all the sultry seduction that all three of our characters are going through. Admittedly it has taken me a while to read but that is only because I haven’t been able to find the time to read between when I started and finished it tonight and it scared me a little as normally you have to go back and recap over what you have already read. With CLIFFORD ARBOR: THE SEDUCTION OF RAVEN PETERS I found I didn’t have to as the story so far was already emblazoned into my memory. If I had read the story from start to finish in one session, I think I would have blown my a/c with the amount of heat that was building up. I would recommend this book to anyone, male or female that enjoys not only a good story but one that is intensely erotic to boot. She believed she could battle anything that came her way...that is until Nick Marshall entered her life. She never anticipated Nick, thirteen years her junior, being interested in her. He’s hot and he wants Karen all to himself. Join this cougar as she learns to accept her sexuality and finally learns what it means to love and how a younger man can melt the years away. MY THOUGHTS: I found A WILD OLDER WOMAN a wonderfully hot read. The emotions that Karen Wild goes through being with a younger man, could be any woman over the age of 35 to worried about. The description Ms. Crescent gives, throughout her book was riveting and felt like I had my own private movie running and that can be a rare quality. I could picture what Karen looked like and that image stayed throughout the book. Not once did she make the mistake of having her Cougar go from a respectable and sensuous woman to and please excuse the ageism here but a young air headed teenager in the way she spoke, responded and dressed and that for me was a pure blessing. Nick Marshall gave this older woman, goose-bumps all over and wanting to try out something so young, masculine and completely charming man who kept on succeeding at putting smiles on Karen’s face. The entire story as a whole was well thought out, paced nicely, rising at the peaks and tapering down only to be brought back up again. As this is my first book of Ms. Crescent, I am extremely impressed with her command of language and not being afraid use different adjectives when it came to parts of the body. The only thing that I was perhaps a bit dismayed about was that fact that an editor and proofreader was utilized for the publishing of A WILD OLDER WOMAN that there was a few grammatical errors and spelling mistakes but that does not ruin the story as they are only minor and can be overlooked. I would recommend this book to any woman who likes the idea of a toy boy or any younger male looking to tame the claws and bring out the purr of a sexy, sensuous and sultry Cougar. As a rating I am giving A WILD OLDER WOMAN four *bites n kisses* out of five. AUTHOR BIO: Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011. She loves creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great. URL: http://samcrescent.wordpress.com/ (less) | Notes are private!

Their First Night Together by Ray Sostre Genre: Erotic Romance Pages: 17 Publisher: AfterDark Online Buy Link: Smashwords Synopsis of Their First Night Tog...more Their First Night Together by Ray Sostre Genre: Erotic Romance Pages: 17 Publisher: AfterDark Online Buy Link: Smashwords Synopsis of Their First Night Together by Ray Sostre In the summer of 1991, Natalia Hernandez and Jared Hill met and became friends. For the amount of time they got to know each other, they developed an attraction, but their time together was mutually short-lived when she moved away for college. Eight years later, they reunited, expressing their desires for each other and wondered what would their first night be like together. My Thoughts: I was very fortunate when a good friend and fellow writer, Ray Sostre gave me a copy of his first book, THEIR FIRST NIGHT TOGETHER. It has taken me some time to get around to reading it as I have been busy with other reviews but tonight I sat down and devoured the book. The story line is fresh and fast paced. We learn about our two characters, Natalia and Jared at the start of the book when they had both spent a wonderful summer together in the early 1990’s. The book then leaps forward eight years where both have gone on to have a career, leading their respective lives. I liked the way Mr. Sostre included pertinent facts about the decade he was using as the backdrop to his story. The music he named and described, what was happening technologically wise made the story quite believable. The actions and emotional responses of Natalia and Jarred were very realistic. Two good friends, lose touch with a “what if” hanging between them, only to reconnect years later via email and this is one area I feel it would have been better had it been explained how Natalia had gotten Jarred’s email address. Their initial contact was not unlike real life. Lengthy exchanges via email then via phone, getting to know one another again, until they do eventually meet. The sexual undercurrent is palpable throughout the pages as you become privy to their desires, wants and needs. Now that is about as far as I go in regards to the story as anymore would end up being a spoiler. For the story line alone I would have been happy to have given it 4 bites n kisses out of 5 but unfortunately I cannot in all good conscience do that without pointing out a few things first. I admire any person who writes a story and then choose to become an Indy published Author. It takes a tremendous amount of courage and confidence to “go it alone” as it were. But this is where some authors can come undone. Like I said the story line itself is fantastic, fast paced and intriguing. In other words, it is as a short story should be. The only downfall to the story was the editing or lack of editing. To start off with, I thought it was just the usage of tenses which I will admit, can be any writer’s worse nightmare. But coupled with spelling mistakes, incorrect usage of words or duplication of words can make a really good story fall flat. This is by no means, me casting any dispersion on Mr. Sostre’s capabilities as a writer. If anything it can be the downfall of any writer who is just starting out. I am not sure if an editor was used as none is named on the cover but if one had been used then I would most certainly advise Mr. Sostre not to use the services of that editor again. Please do not let my last few comments put you off going out and buying THEIR FIRST NIGHT TOGETHER or putting it on your TBR list. It could be that I am over picky when it comes to reviewing a book. As I have said numerous times, the story line is fantastic, not to mention wickedly hot and arousing. So what is my final verdict? I am giving THEIR FIRST NIGHT TOGETHER 3 bites n kisses out of 5. Well done Ray and I do hope to see more of your work being produced. (less) | Notes are private!

THROW THE HOT NEW BREWER, JEFF, IN THE MIX, AND IT'S A FORMULA FOR DISASTER. THE DAILY STRESSES OF RUNNING A SMALL BUSINESS, PLUS THE ONGOING TURMOIL IN HER PERSONAL LIFE HAS ERIN ESCAPING TO CALIFORNIA FOR AN INDUSTRY EVENT, WHERE SHE MEETS LANDON, A BREWERY ROCK-STAR-TURN-CONSULTANT, WHO HAS BEEN WATCHING HER AND HER COMPANY FOR A WHILE. WHEN A FAMILY TRAUMA REQUIRES HER PRESENCE IN MICHIGAN, ERIN IS FACED WITH AN EX- HUSBAND WHO WISHES FOR A REUNION. CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THESE MEN, SHE'S EVEN MORE CONFUSED BY WHAT SHE TRULY WANTS OR NEEDS. THEN THE ULTIMATE DECISION FORCES HER INTO ACTION: NEWLY ACCLAIMED AS THE OWNERS OF WINTER STREET BREWING, HONORED BY INC. MAGAZINE AS TOP ENTREPRENEURS, TRENT, OWEN AND ERIN FACE A BUYOUT OFFER FROM A MUCH LARGER BREWERY. WHAT WILL SHE CHOOSE? WHO WILL SHE SHARE IT ALL WITH? **THIS IS A CHOOSE-YOUR-OWN-ENDING BOOK.** MY THOUGHTS: Having never read any of Liz Crowe’s work I was quite intrigued when she contacted me to do a review of THE TAP ROOM. Settling down to read this 226 page E-Book I was first taken in by the cover. What intrigued me more was the wording across the top of the book “THIS IS A CHOOSE YOUR OWN ENDING”. Interesting, I wondered how she would pull it off. Now for the story! The story revolves around three friends who run a micro brewery and I would have to say that Ms. Crowe gave such a brilliant description of what was happening with the barley and hops that I could almost smell it myself. None of it was too technical in detail but technical enough to understand the process and love and labor that is put into these small businesses. For me that gave the book such realism. The female partner Erin, goes through a gamut of emotions following the end of her marriage of twenty years. There is a series of sexual under currents with Erin and her two male partners, Trent, whom she has known since High School and Owen their head brewer. Ms. Crowe had managed to convey their feelings and emotional turmoil without any type of head hopping. It made you get to know all three partners and feel a close relationship with them. Enter Jake, a young brewer who joins the team and for one night joins Erin and Owen in the hottest ménage I have read in a long time. The sensitivity and emotions that Ms. Crowe conveys about what is happening during the ménage is incredible. At one point during the story Erin refers to herself as a slut for allowing her libido to take over after her marriage had dissolved. It did make me think if that is the right term for her. For twenty years she had been faithful to one man, bore him his sons and tended house, then after her brief encounters to call herself a slut felt harsh. But I could understand it due to her age and the way she was morally, in other words Ms. Crowe had managed to make Erin someone any woman over the age of forty could identify with. Now with all of this happening with Erin and the four men in her life, we see the appearance of her ex-husband and always in the background a friend she had made through social networking on the computer who incidentally she refers to as the “Rock King” of Microbrewery. All the way through the story Erin is constantly questioning what she is seeking in her life, romance wise. We see her highs and lows, cheer with her, cry with her and barrack for the one we think she should end up with. There is also the undercurrent of lust between Owen and Jeff after the ménage that makes you wonder and hope but then change your mind just in case Erin chooses one of them. There is a moment where Jeff wonders if they could live happily in a Polyamory relationship but I will leave that up to the reader to find out his answer. Now for the “Choose Your Own Romance Part”. Without giving away who Erin ends up with, I would have to say that Ms. Crowe handled it splendidly. The way she wrote it had you on the edge of the seat cheering and laughing. It is a perfect end to a perfectly written story. Well done Ms. Crowe, you are most definitely an author I would recommend anyone to check out and especially THE TAP ROOM. I am giving THE TAP ROOM five bites n kisses out of five! EXCERPT: "Hey, Erin." She jumped as Jeff’s voice came rocketing through the brewery doors. "Could you come look at this…?" Erin stood up from the bar stool still staring at the spreadsheet she’d been studying for the last hour, intending to see what Jeff needed but was then distracted by a ding from her computer. She tucked her hair up into a loose ponytail and glanced at her laptop screen. Landon: Hey, I’m giving a talk at the Industry writer’s Conference next week. Why don’t you come out? Erin pictured the man she’d formed such a virtual bond with—his social networking profile was far reaching and lots of photos of him abounded especially among journalist groups. Tall and intent-looking, with dark eyes and clean-shaven head, he was one of the most respected industry writers around. He had written the seminal book on starting a brewery, one that had graced her own bookshelf from the beginning. The guy was smart, good looking, and seemingly impressed with what Erin had done with her little Mid-west brewery. Why not go meet him? She had managed to mess everything up here. Maybe a break would help. Erin sighed. How in the world she had managed to get herself here, caught between men like this—she had no idea. Her chest tightened as she pictured Owen’s face, his eyes dark with anger the last time they spoke. His remarkable ability to bring out the best in her, but then to ignore her when he couldn’t deal with his feelings was maddening. At least with Jeff she knew exactly where she stood. Her thighs clenched at the thought of him. "Yo, you coming?" The object of her lustful fascination called her again from the other room. "And lock the front door," his low voice teased. "We’re closed." They synopsis itself read for a highly interesting story line and to say that Ms. Wanton met and exceeded it, would be an understatement. The story unfolds very gently as we meet and gets to know about Tess, a normally high driven, well respected woman who is seeking to explore her submissive side. The way Ms. Wanton tackles this subject is one with sensitivity and care. Her descriptive use of words has you imagining you are there with Tess, experiencing her fears, her joy, her elation at coming to terms with her sexuality. I would like to say newfound but that would be a lie as Tess already knows she is submissive, she just needs a Dom who is able to take her through the steps of learning to put all her trust into his hands so to speak. There are moments in the book, which had this reader catching her breath at the sheer beauty of Tess’ awakening. Ms. Wanton shows a definite and intuitive respect of what is involved not only with the training of a submissive but more importantly the emotions that they experience at the hands of their Dom. My Recommendation: I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever been curious about the subtle nuances that discern the difference in a Dom who is more concerned about his submissive’s experience in training than one who believes that roughness and abuse is the only way to go. It is not a how-to book but it can certainly help those who are curious about exploring their submissive side. Congratulations Ms. Walton on writing a truly awe inspiring and riveting book. I look forward to reading more of your work in the future. Tessa Wanton(less) | Notes are private!

COVE...more SNOWLIGHT MOONLIGHT BY ROSE DE FER Brilliant story to start the anthology with, subtle undertones of BDSM interspersed with shape-shifting erotica. COVER HIM WITH DARKNESS BY JANINE ASHBLESS Unusual story that was compelling as you thought you knew what way it would go only to find out you were completely wrong. Was a bit disappointed with the ending as I felt it left the main question still unanswered. A ROSE IN THE WILLOW GARDEN BY ELIZABETH DANIELS A beautifully sad yet loving story that made this reader, wipe away a tear or two. This is a story that will haunt me in the very best way for years to come. THE BLOOD MOON KISS BY MITZI SZERETO Such a sensually erotic story that combines all the elements I love to read. So far this would have to be my most favorite and it would be nice to see this one actually made into a longer story, delving deeper into the lives of the two main characters. It is truly a well written piece of prose that does the author proud. PAINTED BY ANNA MEADOWS An intriguing tale of sensuous prose that at times becomes too heavy with purple prose. I liked the descriptive use of flowers but it did become tedious and made this reader lose the plot line quite a few times, resulting in having to re-read it again and purposely try to keep up with the plot. DOLLY BY CHARLOTTE STEIN An interesting story with an incredible twist at the end that reminded me of a story I once read when I was younger but without the eroticism Dolly has. LA BELLE MORT BY ZANDER VYNE What an outstanding story. Was not prepared for the twist at the end and I found I could not take my eyes off the page. The pace of the story was well set. It was as if the author was purposely writing the words in the same vein as one would make love, slowly at first then with increasing passion until the final destination is reached and released. Well worth the read! THE PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY BY EVEN MORA Extraordinary story of love, the pace was fast but not that fast that you couldn’t catch a breath but when you did it was only to read more that would take it away again. I would have liked to have read more of this story as I believe there is more to Rowan and Lily’s story to come or perhaps it is just the author’s way of teasing the reader. SCRATCHED BY ASHLEY LISTER Even though the plotline was predictable, the sensuousness of the story line is what kept it afloat. Pure un-adulterated lust makes this a definite body tingling book. BITTER AND INTOXICATING BY SHARON BIDWELL This was an interesting tale, filled with passion, fervor and artistry both in the descriptive use of the words and the subject matter. TEA FOR TWO BY CLAIRE BUCKINGHAM Tea For Two is a heart wrenching story that had this reader on the verge of tears. The poignancy of this love story and the loss that the two main characters suffer is so tenderly written, making the whole scenario come alive before your very eyes. Congratulations Ms. Buckingham for a truly tremendous and well thought out short story. MILADY’S BATH BY GISELLE RENARDE This story has a bit of everything, love, lust, mystery and hot passion. Without giving the story away, the protagonist comes across as a sweet little creature with the way she speaks and describes everything. Being written in first person POV, it does give you more of an insight as to what she is feeling and her reactions to what is happening. Thoroughly enjoyed this story, well done! THE WAY HOME BY CARY WILLIAMS As I began to read this, I was a tad confused as it seemed to be words or sentences missing, then I reminded myself that it was a galley copy I was reading so full edits had not been achieved yet. So now I can relate my views on this story. Personally I would not class this as erotica but everyone has different ideas. I feel the concept of this story was good just not well executed as there were areas within the story that would have done better with clarification and perhaps as a longer storyline, allowing the Author more flexibility to delve into the characters personalities a lot deeper. THE QUEEN BY TAHIRA IQBAL Brilliant, this is the only word I can think of to describe what I felt about this story. The pace keeps you right on the edge and what an orgasmic edge it is. If this was a print book then I would class this story as a page turner. BENEDICTION BY BONNIE DEE This was a wonderful story to end the anthology with. It gives a whole new outlook on angels and their duties whilst still giving a somewhat moral lesson about self-forgiveness. MY OPINION Overall I enjoyed reading this anthology. The Authors are all wonderful story tellers, weaving their own versions of Gothic Erotica. None of the stories were repetitious; all were fresh and innovative in style and setting. My only complaint with it was the length, to me I prefer to read an anthology that is not quite as long but again that is just this reviewer’s opinion. I would give this a rating of 4 out of 5. Charlene, a young journalist is given an assignment by her editor of going to check out the single lifestyle in the Army barracks. Charlene has an incredible weakness for men in uniform and on her trip to the barracks she finds herself day dreaming about all these wonderful, well built men in uniform. Upon arriving at the station, Charlene meets and falls in lust with, the young Corporal Stokes. Ms. Felthouse, kept the momentum going from the very first line to the very last line. A Lucky Man I have to say that Ms. Felthouse had me highly intrigued with the way she wrote this from the male point of view. It was refreshing and unique. I enjoyed the fact that the woman the protagonist described was not a stick thin model type but a woman of voluptuousness. The fact that Ms. Felthouse described the pride and adoration he felt for his woman was written tastefully and with skill. Posh Boy This was a well written piece describing what a person’s voice can do to another. The feelings and images it can evoke. Ms. Felthouse once again showed she is very adapt at creating a visualization through words that draws the reader in. The eroticism of Posh Boy keeps with the overall theme of the stories read so far in this anthology. E620 Whilst E620 was also highly erotic in its telling, I found it to be a tad confusing at times but I think it was part of the charm of the story. The whole, is she dreaming or is it real scenario, that makes you think hard. Definitely worth the read though, as Ms. Felthouse uniquely shows her writing skills in this story. Beach Babe Beach Babe was the last story in the anthology and what a way to finish. This story is truly what fantasies are made of. A woman alone on an island meets a local man who can’t speak a word of English and through sheer chemistry have the wildest sex on the beach. Beautifully told, the interracial theme only expounds on the fantasy. Ms. Felthouse left this reviewer breathless, wanting to be the heroine in the story, tasting this Island God she has so clearly painted a picture of, with words that if they were food would melt on your lips. My final thoughts: My final thoughts on The Best of Lucy Felthouse are that it is a book I would recommend as an introduction into her writing. It gives you a light sampling of how diversified she can be as a writer.(less) | Notes are private!

Well I bought this book because I was interested in what Mr. Mertz had to say about the best way to sell e-books. As Director of Marketing and Research for Naughty Nights Press, a new e-book publishing house, I felt it was worth the very small price of $4.99US to see if there were any tips and hints as to how to promote and sell e-books that I was perhaps unawares of. Mr. Mertz made reading this book very simple and delightful. All of his tips, hints and suggestions are easy to follow. Meaning anyone who is computer illiterate would have no problems in following. I would have to say that 99% of his ideas are actually something that we at Naughty Nights Press would be able to implement, improving out marketing strategies. To any indie publisher or small e-book publishing firm, I would highly recommend this book and I thank Mr. Mertz for going to the trouble of making something that at times can seem insurmountably difficult, so easy. Among these thought-provoking stories, two friends find themselves drawn into a dark erotic world, a woman encounters a mysterious man and a mature couple discovers hush-hush desires about each other. With different styles of writing, Temptation Triggers reveals erotica that is passionate and spellbinding. Steal My Love: What a truly refreshing story. The chemistry between the 2 main characters was palpable. The way that Ms. Woody and Mr. Tindle have written their story from both the male and female points of view made for a very pleasurable, sizzling, delicacy of a short read, recommended for both male and female readers alike. Their description of the guns and food would make any connoisseur drool. I enjoyed the fact that even though the story was highly erotic, there was not a lot of sex in it but more anticipation of the senses which I feel worked extremely well in this story. Hotel Savannah: This is a breathtakingly written story, the eroticism unbelievably high with each page that is turned. I for one was absolutely spellbound with the whole story line. The main character portrays a very moral, upright 1930’s wife, who when left to her own devices, shows that beneath every good wife is a hot blooded woman waiting to break free. Break Up Pudding: I began to read Break Up Pudding and found I was riveted by the scenes that Ms. Woody and Mr. Tindle painted with words. The way that they described the chemistry between Lily and Theo was pure magic. The sex scenes were heavenly arousing, they brought back memories of a time when you would only go so far with the one that you loved without going ‘all’ the way. The frustration, the love, yet the feeling of completeness are portrayed so vividly. The story behind the story of the family business was an eye opener and not one I anticipated but thoroughly enjoyed. I found the twist at the end to be so unexpected yet beautifully written. Would love to see Break Up Pudding as a longer story as there is so much more that can be expounded upon. Gnat and FLO: How to describe Gnat and FLO? Well apart from being a cute little Sci-Fi story, the eroticism was incredible. A very short read that envelopes the over protectiveness of FLO a computer towards Gnat the pilot of the spacecraft was simply adorable. It was the descriptions of the asteroids surface that truly shows how accomplished this incredible writing duo are. Patty Melt: Patty Melt should come with a warning telling the reader that it is best to read when alone or with that special someone. Once again Ms. Woody and Mr. Tindle takes the reader on a voyeuristic pleasure fest that teases the senses and vividly describes the type of fantasy that some of us only dream about. Patty’s mystery caller has all the attributes of a Dom/Master without once laying a single finger on her. The delights he brings to her body are a revelation to Patty who learns more about herself during these brief calls she receives than realizes. I must admit, I did want her to meet her mystery caller but the way this story has been written it would have been wrong for her to know who he was…or would it. Carnival: Carnival is a page turning; hold your breath, careful of the wetness or hardness read. This amazing duo have plunged the depths of erotic fantasies into one skillfully penned story. Carnival has all the erotic build up you would expect with none of the let down. Each twist and turn sees Dena and Josh viewing and participating in yet another fantasy that they are quick to explore. This is most certainly one story I could read over and over again and if anyone knows the whereabouts of this Carnvial, tell me so I can go! Grandma finds her G-Spot: This was the last story in the anthology and probably the best way to finish the book off. The way that Harriet and Fred were described and Harriet’s new found interest in her body was not only sweet and yes I am using the word sweet because for a mature woman to discover herself after years of marriage is a very sweet thing for her. I loved the way that Ms. Woody and Mr. Tindle conveyed the modesty and eroticism of Harriet. Then when they brought Fred into this exploration, it moved me. I think anyone reading this story will only hope that their sex life will be as diverse and romantic and loving as these two characters. My Overall Thoughts: Overall the book was a pure delight to read. There was no telling where Ms. Woody finished and Mr. Tindle started. It is as if these stories had been written by one person. Neither of them overshadowed the other. They managed to bring to life each and every one of their characters. Breathtakingly brilliant is the only way to describe their writing style. It isn’t very often that I read an anthology where I have enjoyed ALL the stories but this one is definitely a must have and a must read. If I was to do a rating system this anthology would most deservedly receive 6 out of 5. This is one book I will happily read again and again. I look forward to adding these delightfully wicked writers to my personal reading collection of much loved authors. (less) | Notes are private!

What is the secret of elegant Constanzia Pryce, the Victorian woman who always wears a long veil, and shrouds her face in mystery? When Michael Weston falls in love and lust with Constanzia he soon wants to find out. However obstinate Constanzia is determined Michael will love her for more than her looks, and against his will Michael soon becomes entangled in fetishistic sexual fantasies about his mysterious veiled lover. What lies beneath that seductive black lace? Will Constanzia fulfil his wildest sexual desires? Michael is soon to find out that seduction is not always just about a pretty face. My Thoughts: I found Veiled Seduction to be simply that, a seduction. Ms. Payne has a wonderful grasp of seduction in her writing. The way she described Michael’s lure to Constanzia was simply elegant and enthralling. Being an Historical Erotic story I was worried that perhaps it would be overpowered by contemporary idioms. So it was with pleasant surprise that this reader found that it was definitely not the case. The scenes were described as you would expect, elegance, ladies in their best refinery, sipping delicately out of bone china tea cups whilst men in suits lounged around discreetly staring and flirting with the women. The picture Ms. Payne painted of Constanzia, shrouded behind veils of all descriptions truly made you want to know why she was always wearing a veil. Michael’s obsession with Constanzia and her veils did show another unique type of fetish that I feel was well handled, even if it was not Ms. Payne’s intention to show it as a fetish. The only problem I did have with the story was the way that it jumped just a little between scenes making it a tad problematic but not unreadable. A lovely quick read to have sitting in your shelves! Her name is Maribel but what he wants from her should never be mentioned by name - like her blood, her sex, her death. When hunger and loneliness sent Jared stumbling through his home town one night, he found himself face to face with the woman who was once his destiny. He longs to take her; change her, yet he knows that she will hate him for it. He has forever to make her forgive him, but is that long enough? My Thoughts: Well what can I say about ‘Last Caress’? The blurb read like it was going to be very short but impacting. The story itself was bland and could have done with more substance. I feel Ms Ryder had a wonderful premise for the story line but unfortunately it did not come across as clearly as it could have. Had there been more explanation and perhaps more background as to how Jarred became a vampire, it might have made a difference. In all honesty I don’t feel ‘Last Caress’ is an indication of what Ms Ryder could be capable of and I look forward to the chance to be able to read something more from her to compare. Being able to read a new book by an author and asked to do a review is exciting in its own right. But to be THE CABIN by Nathanial Bosch_smallasked to do an advanced review copy for a newly established publishing house makes it even more exciting. Now before I go any further I do wish to point out that I do reviews for any author from any publishing house. The fact that this publishing house is also the same publishing house that is going to publish my new story coming out and that I actually work for the same said publishing house has NO bearing on my review. If I like the story or book I will say so, if I don’t like it I will also say so. I have never heard of Nathanial Bosch so had no idea what to expect with “The Cabin”. Being a fan of any type of BDSM story, I began to read it wondering how this author would tackle the subtle art in words of BDSM and from which point of view he would be taking it from. It was with great delight that I found that he had taken it from both the Master and the slave’s perspective and managed to grip this reader’s interest immensely. The setting was deliciously described but it was the actual visualization of what he did with his slave and her reaction that had my juices flowing. The pace was well timed and didn’t lag at any stage. The peaks built just as the orgasms did in the story but instead of falling flat, it would taper down slightly only to be led into a new peak of wonderment. I did wonder if the story was written by someone who can appreciate the art of bondage and deprivation and what it can do to a person and how sublime that experience can be. All in all I think this story is definitely worth purchasing when it is released, whether you’re an aficionado of BDSM or someone who just appreciates a well written book about BDSM. If The Cabin is anything to go by then I will certainly be keeping an eye out for more work by Nathanial Bosch.(less) | Notes are private!

From the moment I started reading this book, I was hooked. The character of Tessa, our heroine, is well written, her strengths and weaknesses no different to anyone else in the real world which made identifying with her that much easier. The way Ms Ashton takes us through Tessa’s court room appearance with the Court of Vampires and then goes on to tell the tale of how Tessa became a vampire and what got her to the point of being charged with treason, heresy and murder is compelling and well thought out. The enigmatic character of Carlos was written in such a way that you are bound to not only despise him but also yearn to be taken just once by a man like him. The combination of Vampires and Dominance made this reader shiver with delight. Ms Ashton left no detail untold. The scenes were perfectly executed, the POV was always kept to first person so there was no head jumping at all to contend with. The twists and turns lead us through not only Tessa’s turning but also into the seedier aspects of the Legion of Vampire Hunters. The way they torture vampires would make any anti vampire person want to plead for their plight. All in all Ms Ashton executed the delivery of Once Bitten with finesse and style and the meter of the story not once waned. If Once Bitten was a musical instrument then Ms Ashton is a Maestro of her craft. The only downfall to the book was in its formatting. A new chapter started too far down the page that had it been made to start at the top of the page, it would have been a lot easier to scroll through and not so much white space. For this reason I gave it only 4 stars, otherwise it would have been a 5 star book. I would recommend Once Bitten to anyone who has a love of Vampires, Erotica and mild BDSM. Review of RAISING SPIRITS Editor: Miranda Forbes Publisher: Accent Press Ltd ISBN: 978190819209 Pages: 72 Contributing Authors: Nyki Blatchley Lynn Lake ...more Review of RAISING SPIRITS Editor: Miranda Forbes Publisher: Accent Press Ltd ISBN: 978190819209 Pages: 72 Contributing Authors: Nyki Blatchley Lynn Lake Sandrine Lopez J Smith Angela Caperton Carmen Russell Blurb: A collection of six erotic stories with mixed fantasy themes including vampire, magick, shapeshifter and paranormal. This is the blurb that I was sent with the book Raising Spirits. Now never having reviewed a multi author anthology, I jumped at the chance, especially with it being paranormal erotica. What I am going to do is review each of the 6 stories and then give an overall impression, as I feel it is only fair. Raising Spirits by Nyki Blatchley Amy’s invisible lover must surely be a dream – or is he a ghost? Amy doesn’t care, since he gives her the best orgasms she’s ever experienced. The truth, though, is more sinister and more dangerous than she suspects. Amy must learn the secret of her lover’s nature – and of her own – before she loses everything. And, if the discovery involves more sizzling sex – Amy isn’t going to complain. My Thoughts: The story started out well, the whole concept of some sort of entity seducing a person whilst they sleep has a lot of potential for exploration. I thought there could have been more development of the main character Amy, during the last part of the story (sorry not giving the ending away). It felt rushed and unrealistic that someone would so readily concede acceptance of their fate and then change it just as quickly but given that there were only six short stories, I can understand how word restrictions can play a huge part. This might be a story that Nyki Blatchley might like to expand upon, especially after the comment by one of the characters and I quote… “So he’s actually done it,” said a husky female voice behind her. Vamp’eau by Lynn Lake In the barren wastelands water was the most precious commodity, both for the hot-blooded inhabitants of the village, and the cold-blooded inhabitants of the mountain cave. The water siphoned from the desert creatures would attract villagers to the cave; provided they were desperate enough. Mirage was desperate, for herself and her family. Sand’ra was waiting. My Thoughts: What can I say about Vamp’eau. It was most certainly different. I found it a hard story to get into and found I was easily being distracted by things happening around me, than being sucked into the story. It took me a while to work out what the story was about as it was ambiguous in its telling. Ms Lake certainly has a vivid imagination, which can be seen by the descriptive scenes she paints. Perhaps a bit more depth to her characters would enhance the scenes and settings. Again I understand how constraints can play a big part in writing a short story but it can be worked around to give the reader more understanding of the story line and not make it so choppy. Personally I really didn’t like the story but that’s not to say that someone else might find it exceptional. Be My Doll by Sandrine Lopez Candice wants to get into Seb's pants but he is freaked out by the collection of dolls in her bedroom – especially one that looks like her ex Mark. Is there more to the mannequin that meets the eye? Yes, for Candice has found that certain magicks can be potent – and not entirely controllable – means of getting her way sexually... My Thoughts: I liked the whole premise of this story, it was enjoyable and quirky. The characters were strong and credible. I liked the fact that Candice wanted something and went for it. Even though it was short story, there was no choppiness with the story line. It flowed smoothly, giving it the feel of a well written piece of work. It would be nice to see Ms Lopez do a series of stories revolving around Be My Doll. So far in this anthology, this story is the one that stood out. The Room at the Top by J Smith With frustrated longing she returns to the same hotel every year, booking the same room – the room at the top. Only she knows what is there and what will befall her, as dressed in lace of virginal white she lays back and prepares herself for the encounter. Each time it’s more than she could hope for and almost more than she can take, pushing her to the sexual limits of this world and the next. My Thoughts: The blurb for this story was very enticing. The story however left me confused. J Smith started strong but then somewhere along the way it became lackluster. The confusion for myself was in the description of the ghost. In one place it is described as being “a shadow-like outline standing behind my reflection.” Later on the main character refers to the ghost as being a mist. This for me was like describing the main character as being tall with blond hair and then further down saying they were short and balding. The sex scenes were well written, solitary exploration giving way to visions of fantasies that were to this reader, believable. Unfortunately near the end of the story, the scene between our main character and her ghostly/misty lover became somewhat incongruous in its telling. The twist at the end of the story was a nice finishing touch. Duppy by Angela Caperton Artist, Justine Templeton, undertakes a journey to her ancestral home, the Caribbean island of San Sebastian, in search of inspiration and meaning for her life. On the tropical isle, she encounters a shape-shifting spirit called a Duppy. In the form of a darkly handsome islander, the Duppy teaches her about the island’s tumultuous past and reveals a dark secret, coiled like a magical serpent among the roots of her own family tree. My Thoughts: What a fantastic, romantic, erotic story. I enjoyed reading about the San Sebastian rebellion and the story behind Duppy’s. It was light hearted, well written and the character of Justine was well fleshed out. The scenes flowed extremely well; the descriptions of the island were breathtaking. Ms Caperton has a very vivid imagination and this was one story where I felt the sex scene was not only believable but eloquently written. Definitely an enjoyable read from start to finish, holding the reader’s attention the complete way through. Ghost by Carmen Russell Sure, the house was tiny and ancient, the roof as suspect as the plumbing, the basement cracked like the driveway. But it was Kathy’s. At last freed from the smothering constraints of the parental home, the socially inhibited 23-year-old could finally, truly spread her wings … Until she heard the chilling words that interrupted her house-warming self-pleasure session, ‘Name’s Anne. I haunt this place.’ The pushy apparition wanted the big O in death she’d been denied in life, and she needed a living woman – Kathy – to possess, to experience the kind of manmade orgasm she’d saved up for her entire short, previous life. My Thoughts: This story was nicely written, straight into the erotica and introduction of the household ghost, Anne. I feel a bit more information about Kathy would have given the story more depth. I found the sex scene to be rushed and considering that it was in a way a Ménage à trois, more emphasis could have been placed on the reactions of all three parties concerned. The ending I felt could have been a lot better, it was almost like Ms Russell was stuck as to how to finish it off and chose an ending that could have been more detailed as it left this reader with questions as to how, why and when. Overall Impressions: Overall the anthology, Raising Spirits was edited perfectly. The theme of the stories fitted well with each other. A good short read at 72 pages. I will be honest that if it were not for two of these stories, I would have been returning this back to the Review Coordinator, advising that I was unable to review this book. I’m glad I persevered with it though. My congratulations to all six of these wonderful authors, I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to write a short story to fit within an anthology and even though I wasn’t enamored with some of the stories, I can appreciate the hard work you have put into it and I wish you all well with your writing careers. Well I say newest, I had a copy of it from when I first met Jemima on here and did a review for her book, His Elle and it was on my list of “To Read for Pleasure” so it came to a total shock when she said she had rewritten it and fleshed it out more. So very excitedly, I went and downloaded a copy of Broken from Smashwords and the thing that first intrigued me phenomenally was the synopsis/blurb that appears on the site. When you wake up in a room full of concerned faces and bright lights, sometimes recollections are the last thing you need. Broken is a short fictional tale, inspired by the true story of one woman’s struggle with her own personal realization. All she needs is the song to stop. Not fully knowing what to expect from the synopsis as it gives very little away, I began to read the story. Now granted Broken is a short read, 25 pages and I read it in less than an hour. It was the quote that Jemima had at the start of the book that made those fine hairs on the back of my neck stand up. “Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness makes you grow Beyond what you were” Cherie Carter-Scott Now I can hear you all out there asking why this quote would make the hairs on my neck stand up, well that’s easy. With just those simple words, I began to realize that this was not a story that was going to be filled with sunshine and buttercups, rainbows and butterfly’s but something darker, a lot more sinister and the fact that it is inspired by a true story, well…need I say more. So here I am, scrolling down to the first page and it was from the first paragraph that I was hooked. Jemima has once again shown that she has a depth of emotional writing that can pull the reader in and make them empathize with the main character and their predicament. For me, it was heart wrenching as luckily, I have never been in the position that the character Lu is in but I have known women who have and the way Jemima tells it, gives Lu dignity and poise, not to mention opening your eyes to the brutality of domestic violence and what effect it has not only on the spouse but also those around them. I liked the quirky way that lines of songs were used as a way to convey the emotional turmoil that Lu was in and even in the story; Lu recognizes that these songs in her head need to stop. It seems every time I do a review, I tell you to trust me and buy the book, you will thoroughly enjoy it. This time though people I am saying for $0.99USD, less than the price of a cup of a coffee, please go out and buy this book. Jemima states at the end of her Broken, that she is donating 10% of her quarterly net profits of Broken to a charity of her choosing in the UK that deals with those people and their families who are victims of violent domestic abuse. Jemima also states that she is not doing this to increase the sale of her book for personal gain but as a way of her being able to help out in some small way. (less) | Notes are private!

Kiki has taken two of my favorite subjects and interwoven them together to produce a brilliant read that I would highly recommend to anyone. These subjects are Witches and Vampires. I found the settings to be highly descriptive, giving the reader the ability to not only picture the setting in your mind but to feel the elements that surround the characters. Kiki portrayed the two characters Meranda and Alex, with depth, emotion and extraordinary perception. The desire that the two of them feel is palpable and literally burns the pages. She shows us that regardless of age, a woman can be the predator when it comes to taking what you want. The sensuality and eroticism Kiki describes certainly had this reader breathing heavily. It is not often that I will admit to sitting up all night to read a 250 page book until the very end as the thought of putting it down makes me nervous, in case the characters do something and I am not there to bear witness to it. Well that is exactly how I felt reading Blindsided. Having read other stories by Gemma Rice but under the name of Poppet, I found Blindsided to hold a maturity that was extraordinary. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to punch the main male character, Andre, out badly for the hurt he creates but I also wanted to bundle him up and cosset him from any more hurt himself. The character of Leeann or Lee as she prefers to be called, was portrayed with a strength and depth of emotion that made you sit back and think of other strong willed women in your life that you can, have or do admire. To face such adversity and still rise above it all was nothing short of miraculous. From the first page through to the last, Gemma kept the pace of the book going, not once was it allowed to waiver. Her descriptions of the towns and scenery of South Africa were breathtaking. But seriously the fact that she tackled not only the subject of a cougar type relationship and infidelity with style and aplomb, it was the way the sensitive yet courageous way she handles the subject of mental illness and the different forms it can take. The impact this particular form has upon friends, loved ones and strangers. The way hospital staff copes with not only the patient but with the family also. It makes you realize how much we take these much maligned and often overworked people for granted. Well done Gemma for bringing this to the attention of your readers. This is a book I would actually recommend to my own Mother due to the gutsiness of the storyline. So put it on your “To Read List” people, you truly won’t be sorry you did. The pull towards the two main characters have you laughing with them, worried for what was coming up and concern over what will happen to their dog. Pablo paced it effectively building up to the climax and it was worth the wait. All in all I loved this book and it will be one I will most happily read over and over again, not to mention recommending it to friends and family alike. Having been privileged enough to read other works of Pablo, I find him a truly talented author in the genre of Male/Male erotica.(less) | Notes are private!

After having read Fool’s Errand, I could not wait to read Fool’s Oath. I was expecting the same pace, heat and intrigue to be recaptured in Fool’s Oath as there was in Fool’s Errand and I certainly was not disappointed. Chris once again showed why she is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to M/M erotica combined with Vampirism. Once again Xavi finds himself in trouble but this time he doesn’t have Andreas to help him through it. As a newly turned vampire, Xavi has been told what to expect and what to avoid but being headstrong and willful, he ignores the advice given to him by Andreas and Dr Cortes and goes out exploring the night life. Meeting up with an old acquaintance, Xavi is once again witness to a murder. The scent of fresh human blood becomes too much for Xavi and he goes on a rampage, killing the men involved. Throughout the book, Chris carefully and subtly describes the intensity of emotions that Xavi and Andreas feel for each other and how Xavi copes with being a vampire. All in all, I found it to be a page turner and cannot wait for the third and final installment of the trilogy to come out. I have to know what happens next to this incredibly sexy and downright dangerous couple and if matters that are alluded to throughout Fool’s Oath will come about. (less) | Notes are private!

Blurb: When Xavi becomes an accidental witness to the murder of a wealthy woman he knows exactly what to do - get the hell out of there, fast! Xavi lives on the edge of the law; he and the police don't exactly mix. Unfortunately the cop who is sent after him turns out to have some rather unusual abilities, so it isn't long before their paths cross - which is roughly when Xavi begins to realize that getting caught may be the very least of his troubles. This was the information I received in an e-mail from Chris Quinton asking if I would like to do a review of Fool’s Errand before her new book, Fool’s Oath is released. What could I say? I had to say yes! The blurb itself was enough to have me chomping at the bit to start reading it. So armed with my e-reader loaded, I headed off to bed to snuggle up under the bedding and preceded reading. A few hours later which actually only felt like a few minutes, a sleepy husband was asking me if I had fallen asleep with the light on or was I finally going to go to sleep. Taking the hint I reluctantly bookmarked my page and turned off my e-reader and light. I suppose what I am trying to say in a light type of way that it is not often that a book will enthrall me so completely that I have read half of it without even realizing it. I suppose I should get on with my review of Fool’s Errand. Never having read any of Chris Quinton’s work I was quite surprised to find that she has a sharp sense of wit, timing, style and language. We are first introduced to Xavi, who inadvertently witnesses the murder of one of his female clients. In the process we meet Andreas, a police officer who just so happens to also be a vampire. He is paired up with another officer in regards to the murder, who is aware of the corruption within the police force and between the two of them; they are to protect Xavi from being killed by the same killer. The story is set in Spain and a picture of beauty and squalor is painted before your eyes as Xavi and Andreas begin a battle of wills. Beneath all of this is a sexual tension that is so palpable it has your own heart racing wondering if it will be on the next page that Xavi and Andreas will finally come together. Andreas is aware of his attraction to Xavi, yet Xavi is not prepared to admit the reciprocation. There are twists and turns, that work well throughout the book, culminating in a breath holding ending that will having you applauding the good guys and wondering what will be in store next for our two incredibly sexy, well spoken heroes. Who would I recommend this book to? Well that is easy, anyone who has a love of vampires, crime, suspense and wonderfully scripted m/m erotica. This is a book that both sexes straight and gay would I feel enjoy. I know I will definitely be rereading it again and enjoying all the nuances that Chris Quinton delivers in her story.
