The name itself made me avoid the book..(although Anna is one of my favorite name). But it was in my bookshelf for a long time and I had to read it as I'm on a finishing-all-types-of-young -adult-books-spree> I'm already 19 now. Now i feel so stupid!! I mean why didn't Stephanie Perkins get a better name for the book and trust me that's the only thing I'm complaining about and nothing else. The whole book is SUPER-COOOOLLY BEAUTIFUL. St.Clair is a guy any normal simple girl would die to have. English accent is the sexiest accent in the world, hands down and to hear it from aguy as awesome as St.Clair....(somebody help me!). He was caring, so loving, soooooo funny. Anna was this cute girl and simple. There was nothing exaggerated about her. I just loved her smartness and she was so funny,so considerate and so caring. I loooovvedd both of them. You don't generally have people who know you inside out. ST.Clair and Anna were exactly what you truly and genuinely call BEST FRIENDS. I loved Meredith,Josh and Rashmi too. The best moments in the book: Paris!!!! After Ireland its the only place I want to visit. Their conversations, they never spoke anything meaningless or "shite" :D. The way they spent thanksgiving day. The way St.Claire proposes Anna... Anna and St.Claire completed each other in every way. *LONGSIGH*. So I kind of edited the book and got a software and finally, read it.
I'm not sure where to start. At the beginning, I was confused. I didn't understand the twist and turns. But after some pages when I finally did, I loved every moment of it. Every character, even Mr. Palmer who wasn't around for long time, was beautifully sketched in the book. Taylor had a way of life that was real to the core. I'm sure every girl who read this book could relate to her. Although I can't say same way about Jonah Griggs, he was...like a....just..I'll get back to you later about him.
Raffy,Santangelo,Ben,Jessa,Hannah,Brigadier,Santangelo's dad,Webb,Tate,Fitz....all of them were powerful characters. Its like you are with these people, only invisible. Their pain, sorrow, happiness, love was so infectious that it not only touches your heart but also your soul. I'm not going to say anything about the story or anything more about the characters. You HAVE to read it. Because I'm going to reread it anyway. One of the best books I have ever read.

So after reading the book thrice, (twice in ebook version and once in paperback), I finally think I have words to describe this book. Or at least I think I do. sigh!! No, I can't. I don't think I can ever, say, write a review. But there is something that I need to say. This book might make you cry (and it will) because of the characters and well...

I don't think anybody does desi romcoms as good as her. Her characters are always vibrant, colourful and hilarious.Best thing about her writing is her comic timing. You actually have this laugh-out-loud moments. So, I have always avoided reading her books while I'm commuting. This book doesn't really disappoint you. Few pages down when I meet Debjani Thakur and her family, my stomach won't stop aching with all the laughing. Then I meet Dylan Singh Shekhawat (I was imagining Ranbir Kapoor all the time) and his family. They are this really cool modern Christian Rajput family. The fact the book has an late 80's set up only makes it all more interesting. Although there was still something missing, I can't really put a finger on it. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if some big Bollywood banner makes the book into a movie. Though controversial, it does have almost all elements for it. Light,Sunday,Rainy,Afternoon read. Enjoy!!!...more

I could relate to them characters. And yet something was missing. Maybe, I wanted it to be a bit more passionate than it already was. Wait, I don't remember the protagonists having any passionate moments together. They were really hung on to those moments they spent on the roof. Like all through the book. And so, when I talk about the passion part, it has only got to do the with their own self. Finding themselves, trying to belong, being there for themselves first...whoa. Somehow this is almost there with The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and a huge improvement from This is What Happy Looks Like. Waiting for the next one!!...more
