Book (1) FIRES OF WINTER took you from the Celtics of Wales to the Vikings of Norway. Book (2) HEARTS AFLAME from the Vikings of Norway to the Saxons of Wessex. This book SURRENDER MY LOVE from Saxons of Wessex to East Anglia the home of Danes & Saxons
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS ***compared to the previous two books, this was LightWeight ** (marital relationship) “….his manhood was revealed….” (and) “….pleasure drawn from each thrust…”
GENRE: Romance, Historical Fiction.
SETTING: Wessex and East Anglia 879 A.D.
CENTRAL CHARACTERS: SELIG HAARDRAD is first born to Garrick and Brenna Haardrag. His features are more like his Celtic mother as opposed to his Norwegian father. He spends his time traveling between Norway and his newly built residence near his brother-in-law and sister’s Wessex manor. ERIKA HARALDSSON, a Dane, lives with and manages her brother’s manor in East Anglia. Her personality is civil as compared to being authoritative and she is exceptionally beautiful.
SYNOPSIS: Selig voluntarily travels to the Danish King on a mission for Saxon King Alfred. His group is attacked on the way and Selig is left for dead. Having been revived, he seeks shelter at the Haraldsson manor where he is tortured and accused of being a spy rather than being welcomed. Selig’s sister rescues him and takes him severely wounded back to Wessex along with Erika Haraldsson by way of a knife at her throat.
WHAT I LIKED: Erika’s shadow is a great person to know IF you want your neck broken. Kristen is a handful (just like her mother). Sexual descriptions toned down as compared to previous (2) books in this series.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Did not like the way that the circumstances surrounding Selig’s initial rescue were written.
I give this book (4) stars. This series continues to be on my fav list. This author is on my fav list. I appreciate that the author chose to lessen the powerful sexual narratives in this book as compared to the previous (2) books. (less)

A GENTLE FEUDING is your typical Scottish Highlander fiction plot. Nothing new but a great read.
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS: Kisses. The following references: (1) manhood; (11) breasts; (1) thrust; (3) between her legs. That’s pretty much it.
GENRE: Romance, Historical Fiction.
SETTING: Aberdeenshire and Angusshire, Scotland 1541
CENTRAL CHARACTERS: JAMES MacKINNION is clan leader. He is demanding, overbearing and has a bad temper. Having been previously married, he is unwilling to marry again unless he has first “tried” the woman. SHEENA FERGUSSON is favorite daughter of her clan’s leader and called the “jewel of Tower Esk” because of her beauty. She does not mind venturing off especially to swim which is a part of her “bathing” ritual at the glen near her home. She and her brother Niall are inseparable.
SYNOPSIS: After years of peace, the feud is re-sparked after one clan is raided and crofters killed. The other clan retaliates. He secretly sees her splashing water as she bathes standing waist-deep in a pool. As a result, he is captured and held in the Fergusson prison.
WHAT I LIKED: The two get so close in proximity but never meet.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Couldn’t the author given him a little more backbone than he had? Come on now!
I give this book (3) stars. Just your typical Scottish Highlander fiction novel but nothing that makes it really stand out. Just a good historical romance read. (less)

GENRE: Romance, Historical Fiction.
SETTING: Norway 873 A.D.
CENTRAL CHARACTERS: KRISTEN HAARDRAD is a strikingly beautiful young Norwegian Viking and desired by many of the male population in and around her village. She does not want any of them but she loves adventure. Lord ROYCE of Wyndhurst manor is a Saxon with dark crystal like eyes that cannot be ignored. Having loss much of his family in a raid, Royce hates Vikings.
SYNOPSIS: Her father told her that she could not sail with her brother. Her brother finds her hiding on his vessel. Along with many crew members she finds herself captured, held prisoner while being disguised as a boy, discovered to be a girl, chained in a manor to do woman’s work while her captured friends work out in the hot sun building a manor wall. So what is the problem? The manor Lord's confusion behind being attracted to a female that he should not be attracted to because she is a Viking!
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS “….fingers slipped between her thighs….” (and) “….rounded breast thrust…”
WHAT I LIKED: Vikings at your front door and being awakened with a dagger at your throat.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: After a while the chain issue got a little monotonous. Furthermore, too sexually explicit.
I give this book (4) stars. This series is on my fav list. Fantastic plot. Lots of events and romantic dilemmas that kept my attention. HOWEVER, I just really hate the descriptive sex. Otherwise I would have rated 5/5 stars. Regardless, I’m a sucker for Viking romance and the (Viking Haardrad Family) series is just my style (w/o the descriptive sex). Onward I go to book (3) SURRENDER MY LOVE. (less)

If you, as an Adult, need a break from the typical adult romance, this is a book for you. From the very beginning I would have given “Gargoyle” a 5++++ rating but something happened. Please read further.
GENRE: Romance, Fantasy, YA and Adults. (Paranormal: a sub-genre of fantasy. It usually takes place in our own world and involves some element or creature that would be considered supernatural or paranormal).
SETTING: Marettimo Isle, Sicily 1894
CENTRAL CHARACTERS: Erro Riemma aka Elizabeta Riemma attends an all boys school for reasons necessary to that era. Not a story about transgender issues as we know them today. Aelius, name given to a crumbling, hideous relic.
SYNOPSIS: Erro’s greatest artistic talent is sculpting, even more so than any other boy at the school. A crumbled pile of marble is restored and found to be the best work this student has ever done. Being so proud of the completed work, a kiss is placed upon the face of the sculpted creature.
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS: “I want to kiss you”.
WHAT I LIKED: So much tenderness, innocence, gentleness is what gave this book a 5+++. Ahhh…yes, I sighed.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Enter Thomas, a really sweet and well meaning character. However things started getting complicated. Relationship of cave history, bad guy, sister etc is confusing.
I give this book 4+/5 stars because a change in the TONE of the story (not good)BUT…I definitely will be rereading. I am convinced that the author will make up the tone change in book 2.(less)

I found author Lenore Wolfe to be an action type of gal with knowledge of the West and Native Americans. BUT… Lenore you had way ay ay too many people related to too many people and too many incidences. I got lost.
GENRE: Western. (romance?) (paranormal?)
SETTING: 19th century Wyoming
CENTRAL CHARACTERS: MANDY has the gift of being able to communicate with Native American Spirits. But she will take chances necessary to get what she needs. HAWK is considered a gunslinger but stands for what is right.
SYNOPSIS: We have the woman doing whatever it takes to prevent her ranch from being stolen from under her. We have the bad guy who wants to steal the ranch and marry the woman that owns it. We have the man that is guided into the life of the woman to help her from having the ranch stolen from under her.
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS: some caressing of breasts, bucking of thighs and pushing through …. usual boring stuff.
WHAT I LIKED: Give me a minute. I’ll try to think of something that was not monotonous or mundane.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Who is related to whom and to what tribe and to who’s father and at what age did things happen when they happened that made the relationships come together, etc???? AND Alright already, enough with “fingers lifting up chins to stare into eyes” and “eyes that were narrowed”.
I give this book (3) stars because nothing new in a Western. Romance was boring sex between a married couple that went on and on and on and nothing new. Many but not all who, what, when, where and how were not clear. (less)

AUTHOR: I read a lot of fiction and I have never ever read an Inspirational fiction book as wonderfully written as RUNNER UP. How can an author write Inspirational fiction so awe inspiring? Leah Banicki can. How can an author write a book of fiction so well that it is hard believe that the book is truly fiction? Leah Banicki can. How can an author write so well that at the end of each chapter you hope and pray that there is a chapter that follows? Leah Banicki can. You do not want to pass this one over.
GENRE: Inspirational Fiction.
SETTING: Modern day New York and Indiana
CENTRAL CHARACTERS: Hannah is a talented photographer; not so lucky in relationships but loves God. Anthony is willing to "wait" for intimacy until after marriage and loves God. Jackson is a talented author that understands the problems of life and loves God.
SYNOPSIS: One man and 25 contestants vying to become his chosen mate on the Soulmate show. Twenty five contestants and what they have to go through to become his mate. Moments of soul searching, anxiety and depression.
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS: A few gentle kisses are as explicit as it gets.
WHAT I LIKED: Encouragement for those that have had struggled through having a broken heart. A light at the end of the tunnel. I have always wanted to know what contestants went thru when competing for one man or woman's attention on Bachelor/Bachelorette shows. Now I know.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Chrissy. Did she really have to do that?
I give this book (5++++++) stars because I have never ever read a book that was so fantastically written that I truly questioned whether or not it was fiction. Not reading this inspirational fiction book will be the worst move you could ever make.
Note to author: Thank you for your willingness to pray for your readers. (less)

The book however is very clear and a wonderful read for those that truly love God and understand how deep His love is for us. If you don’t understand, read it anyway. You might gather some insight about His love for you.
GENRE: Inspirational fiction.
SETTING: Modern day Michigan; Spring
CENTRAL MALE CHARACTERS: Collin is an English teacher. His sorrow has caused him to walk away from God. Daveny is a landscape architect with a vibrant personality and love for God.
SYNOPSIS: He cannot get over the loss of his brother and naturally blames God. When he drops some material off at the church he used to attend, their eyes meet. Why is he the only one in his family that never attends worship? Why is she so full of life and captivating while drawing him in with the beauty of her personality?
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS: This book is Inspirational and a few gentle kisses are as explicit as it gets. YA wonderful. Adult inspiring.
WHAT I LIKED: The reality of romance as a man and a woman grow to love one another. The feeling of real life.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Moving forward and leaving behind a love that once was. I felt the characters should have interacted in a deeper way with regards to a past love. It seemed to have been shoved aside.
I give this book (5) stars because I cried. You think that you have problems? Me also. Therefore but for the grace of God go WE. Each of us is never alone even when we think we are. Onward we go. C-H-A-R-G-E !!!! (less)

Oh, excuse me, The Hidden Ones is not a college textbook? I hardly noticed. I read until I reached 60% on my Kindle and could not take it anymore. It was amazing that I made it that far. By the way, if you are a deeeep eep eep thinker with regards to Angels, Nephilim, sons of God and daughters of men, this book is for you.(less)

Slow down Craig and let my brain catch up.
GENRE: Science fiction.
SETTING: world of Bish
CENTRAL MALE CHARACTER: Venir, a warrior. Melegal, a thief.
SYNOPSIS: Venir is battle strong and always battle ready. He is also hated by the Underlings who want to destroy him. Melegal, his shadow, is always ready to make coin from Venir’s strength. Together life takes them everywhere to battle anything on the world of Bish.
SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS: Nothing more than the characters carousing. Nothing explicit.
WHAT I LIKED: How Bish was created and the overall characteristics of Bish.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Too many characters in one book. Let’s see. Humans, Orcs, Half-orcs, Dwarves, Gnolls, Underlings, Kobold bandits, Arachna-men, the Royals, Blood Rangers, the Vicious, etc. etc.
I give this book (3) stars because too much Sci-fi in one book. As previously stated, “difficult to wrap my head around so many separate events and characters in one book”. (less)
