For one, it was very light on plot. Also, it seemed to weave back and forth over that line between erotic romance and erotica, which didn't really work for me. Yet despite that, I still found myself unable to put it down.
I thought the writing was very good, and the relationship between Lucien and Peter was exciting and intriguing in the beginning, but my emotional connection to the main characters and their developing relationship instantly evaporated once the random sex scenes with other characters began. Normally I would put a book down at that point, but the sex scenes were just too damn hot. And I think that's pretty much the only thing that kept me turning the pages...once I accepted the fact that I didn't really care about the relationship anymore and just continued solely for the stroke factor.
This was my first book by this author, and even though I only gave it 3 stars, the writing style was so good (and the sex scenes so hot) that I'll definitely give her work another try in the future. I just need to be more careful of content next time, because I'm not a fan of casual sex and multiple partners in a romance story...with the exception of menage, if done right and where all parties involved are faithful to each other.

Unfortunately, in this story, it was just kind of average. If the writing hadn't been so awkward and choppy, it might have been much better. This is my first novel by this author, so I don't know if that's just her writing style or if it's due to the translation.
Anyhow...it's a mildly entertaining read if you've got nothing better. Not completely awful, but not that great either. Although, I did quite enjoy the scene where Yuichi was molesting Kanae on the train. :P
Oh, and one warning...Kanae has a self-lubricating asshole. *sighs and rolls eyes* Why the hell do authors do that? If it's a non-human character, okay fine...I can buy that. But Humans? Ugh! So ridiculous. :(

In the beginning I was really enjoying it. I liked the author's writing style and absolutely loved the characters. Dar and Gregg are so sweet and wonderful together! (5-stars)
The body odor fetish was a little...odd. I've come across a few books that have lightly touched on this particular fetish, but this is the first one that really went in-depth. I found myself bouncing back and forth between finding it kinda hot/fascinating and being a little bit grossed-out.
After a while, though, the large chunks of "preachy", monologuing dialogue about gays was starting to irritate me and spoil my enjoyment of the story. (4-stars) And everything was just too much sunshine and roses. There was no conflict at all, and everyone was so accepting of their relationship, to the point where it felt way over-the-top and very unrealistic. (3-stars)
I also found the very intimate and very detailed "sex talk" between Dar and his parents kind of weird and...disturbing. I was actually more squicked out by that than I was by some of the more raunchy sex scenes.
And then I found myself just getting kinda bored with it all, so I've put it aside for now. (2-stars) I may go back at a later date and try to finish it...(less)

A great little story with terrific writing and a savvy caucasion/asian businessman paired with a shy, adorable, red-headed, geeky virgin. What's not to love? I also really liked the fact that there was a slow build-up before Ki made his move on Aaron.
But the last chapter completely ruined it all for me, hence the 3-star rating. When Ki told Aaron that he had slept with that tramp and enjoyed it, I felt like someone had dumped a bucket of cold water over me. I couldn't even enjoy the make-up sex and pretty much just skimmed over it and the epilogue.
Really, really disappointing... :(
Note: the cheating wasn't technically cheating (since they had broken up - sort of) but it sure as hell felt that way, which is why I gave it the playing/sharing/cheating tag.(less)
