Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again. The easiness with which this woman creates fantastic stories and memorable characters really shouldn’t surprise me anymore She wrote a novel with an interesting plot, swoon worthy love interest, kick-ass heroine, a hurricane of emotions and plenty of surprises thrown our way. Again. I really look forward to any book she writes and every time she announces a new book I am so excited that I get on my friends nerves. “Cursed” is really an amazing novel and I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished. Ember and Hayden are an amazing book couple and I cant help but notice that most of my favorite fictional couples were the fruit of Jennifer´s imagination. The storyline with the “gifted” kids and a main character whose touch kills was told in a unique way it so sucks you right in and you wont be able to get away even after you finish reading. There was a lot of interesting situations, steamy scenes, surprising revelations and emotional rollacoasters.
This book cemented Jennifer L. Armentrout´s place among my top 5 favorite authors and since her every book gets even better than the previous one I think she will stay there for a very long time. For everyone who still hasn’t read any of her books ( if there even are any out there) you should. You will be introduced to amazing stories, special and fascinating characters and situations that will take your breath away. (less)
This is the book that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I just cant stop thinking about it and when I read that there will be a sequel I was relieved because there may be hope yet for a happy ending. "The Opporunist" is a book filled with heartbreak, lies and love. So much love and yet we see that love is sometimes not enough and that it makes people do bad things. It is beautifully written and the characters are so different from the ones we are used to. These are very flawed people that make lousy decisions but in the end you cant but understand them. Olivia, the main character of this book, is a manipulater and a liar yet everything she does is out of love. She changes in the end but her heart is broken and I think it will never heal. I love her character and I hope one day she will finally be really happy. Ever since I read it a couple of days ago I cant stop thinking about this book. I cried so much almost through the entire book. I hope many people read this book because it is unique and wit a heartbreaking story that will leave you breathless and stunned. "Dirty red" is the name of the sequel that comes out in December and I am dying to read it. It will be from Leah´s POV, Olivia ´s arch nemesis. I hated her character so it will be interesting to read from a perspective of a villain if you will.(less)
I am seriously in love with this book. It has everything I need to find a book great. Interesting storyline, amazing characters, it is unpredictable and unique, full of fascinating mythology, with amazing writing and a believeable and heartwarmig romance. It also has a lot of blood, tears, pain and betrayal and death so it is frustrating until the end but I think that this book is a great start to what I am sure will be a wonderful series. I must compliment Hashway on the world she has built and also on the creativity with which she writes and the way she made this book amazing with her vision. I love all that I have learned in this book about Medusa and I hope to learn even more in the future books about mythology because that is one of the many reasons this book is now one of my top favorites of the year. I anxiously wait for the sequel, Stalked by death, that comes out in the summer of 2013.(less)
This book had me torn up until the very end. So much loss, lies, anger, secrets, passion but this much is true, it is a love story. Tally and Linc meet for the first time in the middle of tragedy that left Tally heartbroken. When they see each other again, she doesnt remember him but it i obvious they have a connection. So, after a few lies told they spend the night together and from there starts the real story. They are apart but they love each other. The age difference is too big. Lincs career could be in jeopardy because of the age difference. They are both perfectionists with very demanding careers that are their whole lives. They both hurt each other again and again so I almost didnt want them to end up together. How can love survive so many lies, secrets and betrayals? It seems that true love does. There are also a few very interesting support characters like Mara, Tallys best friend, and Rob, the dead twin Hollys boyfriend. They each have their own story within the main one. I cried a lot while reading, the book is very emotional and the writing is great. This is a definite must read for fans of New adult.(less)

I was always awed with Cssandra Clare's writing but Infernal devices stole my breath away from the very first page in Clockwork angel. I fell in love with the story, with the era, with London and the Shadohunter world all over again but mostly I fell in love with people in this series. Tessa, Jem and Will will always have my heart but so will Gabriel and Gideon, Sophie and Cecily, Charlotte and Henry and of course, Magnus Bane because there is no good book abot the Shadowhunters and Downworlders without our favorite warlock. “Sometimes one must choose whether to be kind or honorable," he said. "Sometimes one cannot be both.” ― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess Clockwork princess finally answers all the questions we've been dying to ask. What really is Tessa? Who she ends up with? What will happen to Jem? Do Sophie and Gideon find their happy ending? And the biggest question of all, do they finally defeat the evil Mortmain? I have to say that this book was utter perfection and I held my breath until the last page. Plenty of heartache, battles, betrayals and death, but also love, loyalty and friendship, Clockwork princess was the best book Cassie Clare ever wrote so far, with the most amazing ending possible and that includes the Epilogue. I know a lot of people think that the epilogue was unnecessary but to me it was the icing on the cake and i cried and smiled while reading it. So prepare a lot of tissues for reading this book, you will need them but in the end, every tear will be worth it. So I say goodbye to this series and it's characters and I hope I will see some of them again in City of heavenly fire.“And now I need you to do for me what I cannot do for myself. For you to be my eyes when I do not have them. For you to be my hands when I cannot use my own. For you to be my heart when mine is done beating.” ― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess(less)
This book was fantastic. Lately I am really getting into dystopia and I must say that Under the never sky is one of the best book in the genre to me. I am so thrilled with the world that Veronica Rossi created, everything is so easy to picture in your head, while you read it is like watching a movie in your mind. There are many characters that left a huge impact on me but mostly Perry and Roar. I love Perry´s intensity, the great care he puts into his words and I love the effect Aria has on him. Then there is Roar who is funny, charming and deeply in love with Liv, Perry´s sister. The level of his loyalty and devotion to her is astounding. I am truly looking forward to reading their story in October. I also like Aria. She is a good main character. Brave, intelligent and with a lovely voice. You could literaly hear the music in your head. I love the idea of the enhanced senses, and of the aether storms, everything was so perfectly described. I grew attached to Cinder and I hope everything works out for him sinc he´s been through too much. I must say that this is one of my favorite books and in top 5 novels I read this year. I´m really looking forward to Through the ever night.(less)
I am really in love with this book. I love the world Danielle Jensen built, the characters she created, the dialogue, the romance and all the magic of Stolen songbird. I love fantasy and I have to say that I never read anything with trolls in it, at least not these kinds of trolls. I always imagined them as enormous, green, dumb things, but the way some were discribed in the book, they are gorgeous. At least those not deformed. I loved how Trollus was described, beautiful yet broken from the curse. All that beauty, only to be forever in the dark. I loved Cecile, she was a bit irritating at first, but as she sees the world is not all she thought it was, that some myths are true, and that she has the power to break the curse and free the trolls and half-bloods (half trolls, half human) and when she saw that like humans, there are both good and bad trolls, she matured, she fell in love and she found great friends. Tristan was a jerk at first, but we see that that is just a facade, that everything he saids or does is scrutinized and since trolls cant tell lies (like the fae) he learned from a young age to go around truth. He is strong, clever, handsome and powerful, also compassionate, rebelious and full of life. The book ends on a little cliffhanger, no happy ending yet in sight, and Cecile hell bent on finding the witch who cursed the trolls. I hope the sequel comes soon and we see Tristan and Cecile together and that the half-bloods are free of the terror trolls are putting them through. Unputdownable!(less)
After a long wait, Sweet reckoning is finally out. It is the last book in the Sweet trilogy so it was time to say godbye to this world and the characters. I enjoyed the first two book but this one is my favorite in the series. It has much more action, more steamy scenes, and a few surprises, bot good and bad. Some moments were heartbreaking, some were romantic or hot, and some were just plain happy. Anna is finally sure of herself and she is ready to fight the Dukes after the events on that island. She is sure of her faith, her father and her allies and mostly, she is sure of her love for Kaidan and he is sure of his love in her. They stopped denying their feelings and are going strong even though the future is not certain, it mostly never is. I loved them all in this book, Marna and Jay, Ginger and Blake, Kopano and Zania, Patty and Belial, Marek, Jezebet and Alocer. Of course, the Dukes are still evil (well, most of them) but I reserve special dislike for Pharzuph, Rahab and Thamuz. Those guys were pure evil and they gave me the creeps. We finally meet Mariantha, Anna s biological mother, and that was a very lovely scene. Sweet reckoning also brings death to some characters and some get their redemption which was a bittersweet scene. The storyline and the world the author created were amazing and it was hard to see it end. All in all, the best installment in the series and I am sad to say goodbye but the epilogue brought closure and what a closure it was. Beautiful and it made me cry. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did and now, I am looking forward to what Wendy Higgins writes next.
A little more than a year has passed since Throne of glass came out and I fell in love with it. The sequel was hihly anticipated by many people, me among them. And again, Sarah J. Maas did not dissappoint. Crown of midnight has even more action and a lot more romance, full of shocking revelations, gruesome deaths and I couldnt put it down. Celaena is one of my favorite female characters and she is kicking ass in this book. Researching, fighting to uncover the truth all the while keeping up the facade of the Kings champion. She also is falling in love. Chaol Westfall is an amazing guy, he is trying to figure out who should he be loyal to, fighting with himself, trying to do the right thing and it may cost him in the end. But I think Celaena and Chaol are so perfect for each other and the work well together. We see a little less of Dorian in this book, he is slightly less a happy person than he was but I have hope for him, that one day he will be a great king. I couldnt believe that the sequel could be better than the debut but it truly was. The story is mesmerizing and the writing beautiful, Throne of glass series is a fantasy must read.(less)
When I first picked up Enclave, the fisrt book in the trilogy, I wasnt prepared for it. I read a few reviews but I didnt know I would love it so much. So, with a heavy heart, it is time to say goodvye to yet another favorite series of mine and the characters who will always be with me. Horde starts where Outpost ended, with our favorite group ( Deuce, Fade, Stalker and Tegan) going for help to another settlement since the horde is upon Salvation. In Soldiers pond they receive reinforcements, although not enough and when they return to Salvation, it is in ruins. That is when the real story of Horde begins, with Deuce and the others traveling from setttlement to settlement in search of people who will join their army and to try and defeat the horde. Amidst all of that there is Fade recovering from his "stay" with Freaks, Deuce missing him and trying to help him along with dealing with suddenly being in charge, Stalker who is trying to get over Deuce so they could be friends and always reflecting on how he and his gang have treated Tegan and his guilt. Then there is Tegan, always working, trying to imrove and not be a burden, helping others and tending to the wounded and always thirsting for knowledge.
“But wishes were empty thoughts, cast down a dark hole. They didn't come true unless you worked for them. I'd learned that about the world, if nothing more.”
Horde is dark, full of blood and gore, all out war, we see some dear faces die, yet there is hope in the shape of younger group of Freaks, who shocked me and certainly shocked Deuce when they spoke and didnt attack. I cried a lot while reading, one death hit me hard, yet at the end I was very happy for the rest. We see Stone and Thimble again, we see there is a way to leave in peace, we see love can really overcome the greatest obstacles and that kindness always matters, no matter how small the gesture. A perfect end for an amazing series. I applaud you, Ann Aguirre :)
“Sometimes it felt as if all happiness came at a price. You could never, ever, have perfection. Life gave you beauty so you could bear the pain.”(less)
Cecy Robson has done it again - this book is amazing and one of the best books of the year, it also managed to be even better than Sealed with a curse. I laughed, I cried, I was frustrated and a few times I swear my heart almost stopped due to the surprises Wird sisters face. Celia is still my favorite sister but Taran is a close second. I adore Shayna nd Emme too but Celia and Taran have that special humor that I love. This book while it had plenty of action and blood, focused on Aric and Celia. I must say my heart broke for these two and a few times I wanted to smash my ereader into a wall. I hope everything works out but judging from the synopsis for Cursed by destiny, the 3rd book, there wont be many hearts and flowers. I cant wait for January. (less)
Confessions of an angry girl is the first book in the series Confessions about a girl Rose Zarelli and her high school experiences. This was a fun book to read. It was full of different emotions, lots of growing up to do and kissing ;) We see how Rose deals with the death of her father, her brother leaving for college and her mother barely speaking to her. She sees something in Jamie Forta but he has a girlfriend, a girlfriend namede Regina who is even worse tha Regina from Maen girls. I dont know how I feel about Jamie, I think he is not so sure how he feels about Rose, I think I kind of want her and Robert to be together. He is so sweet and he really loves her. She should have paid more attention to him. Now, her best friend Tracy is a real piece of work. I know at 15 you are allowed to make mistakes and then learn from them but a cheerleader and a striptease? Really? People would think that after so many bad things you hear about cheerleaders at least you would be carefel. But nooo. You have to be popular. Blah. Anyway, I loved this book. It was funny, insightful and interesting. I really cannot wait for the sequel, Confessions of an Almost - girlfriend which comes out in May 2013. (less)
“You are simply using your demon to hide from what you really feel. Because you are afraid of what that means, that it might be painful. It is far easier to be a monster than to confront the truth.”
When I read Immortal rules I was intrugued with how the author imagined the world and the characters she brought to the story. In The Eternity cure I was impressed with the developement of the storyline, the dynamics between the characters and that she created an Villain so vile, I cant remember I hated a character that much. The Forever song is the final book in Blood of Eden trilogy and after the way the second one ended, I was in tears and afraid of what will come next. I have to say I was impressed with the progression of the story and the subtle and not so subtle changes in characters. Allie is on a path to revenge, after everything that happened she wont stop until she kills Sarren and stops him from spreading the new virus. That path is really dangerous fro her, she lost herself to her grief and didnt really care anymore so her humanity was at risk. Kanin tried but there wasnt really anything he could do to bring back the real Allie, she had to realise herself what shee has become and make the decision to change. Jackal was the light in the dark story. His sarcasm always managed to bring a smile to myself even in the middle of blood and death. There were some unexpected developements, they gave me chills and broke my heart but this story was so dark from the beginning, I knew there will be bad things happenning. The ending broke me a little, I was hoping it wouldnt come to that (you will see when you read it) but I knew it couldnt be avoided. There was hope in the ending though. It made me smile. I hope everyone enjoys this ending as much as I did, it was an unforgetable ride. Julie kagawa is the master of storytelling and I am excited for Talon.
“Humans are ever resilient, and their will to live surpasses everything else. Do not lose hope, Allison.” (less)
And Cecy Robson did it again. I have to say that this series has definetly become one of my top 5 favorites and I eagerly await every new book. Cursed by destiny is even better than the first two. It has much more heartbreak, fighting to the death, evil b*****s and endlessly more humor. I love the catholic schoolgirls, they bring so much laughter in this book but they are also loyal and underneath all that insulting and harping, they love Celia. Aric and Misha are still both my favorites, but Aric has my vote after this book. He showed that he would give up everything for Celia and he is finally showing her how much he really loves her. Misha is a great guy, one who apparently doesnt know what monogamy is, but he also loves Celia and maybe he isnt so obvious about it but I have a feeling he will always stay in her corner. There were some developements in Liam and Emme s relationship and I think we should watch Bren closely. Other sisters and their mates are still going strong. I cant wait for the next book though we dont even know the title yet, I know it will be awesome because Cursed by destiny ends on a pretty big cliffhanger.(less)

I fell in love first with the cover which is gorgeous, the when I started reading I just couldnt put it down, it was so well paced and interesting. I liked Lissa and how she matured and grew strong after the death of a man who raised her and how she always had hope. I loved Julian who is so brave and sweet and caring. I loved Slate, who finally get to see his daughter and you could just see the love pouring out of him. I liked Dena, who is heartbroken yet spunky. Rowan, wel, I liked him even though countless lives have been lost because of him but in the end he showed just how much love he is capable of holding. I hated the Queen, she was a b**** but she also had a different side which she I saw for a fleeting moment. I loved the world building, the humans on Jutaire, the beautiful Jute and a hope for Earth and a better existence. This is a story about love and forgiveness, sacrifice and hope. One of the best debuts and books of the year.(less)
I was with this series from the beggining so I am sorry it has to end but after so many things that was went wrong for Luce and Daniel for thousands of years they finally got their perfect ending. Although Passion was a little disappointing, I see now it was very necessary for the storyline in Rapture. I adore this series and its characters, especially Cam, Arriane and Daniel. The final book has everything that makes a book amazing. It has action, amazing love story, unexpected surprises, death and it is packed with heavy emotions. I cried and smiled and fumed reading this book. Rapture is an ending to an amazing series and what a fantastic ending that is. I love every sentence that comes out of Lauren Kate´s head and I am looking forward to reading something new in the future but characters from Fallen will always be in my heart. (less)
I was wowed with the first book but this one was a really amazing read, even better than the first one. It has more romance, more action, more frustrating and more situations that will make you nervous. It also has a lot of blood and a few new interesting characters but one is the most interesting of all *cough* Razor *cough* . Dawn is still a kick-ass vampire and has plenty of suitors but she wants only one. I must say, Sebastian is really growing on me and I truly like him but Razor seems more interesting. But that could just be his sense of humor. I cried reading this book and since I read an ARC I hope that when I finally read the finished book, I eill be surprised by the ending because I cried so much and I really hope for something else. We also find out a little bit more about our favorite Misfits, especially Hunter and Brooke, and I was heartbroken for them. Hunter is now officially my favorite Misfit. ReAwakened was beautifully written and I was glad it was longer than ReVamped and perhaps book III will be even better and longer. I must say I am super excited about it. (less)

"One need only pluck the right cord to make the puppet dance." His smile was almost creepier than his threats. "Dance, reaper!” ― Rachel Vincent, With All My SoulYet another one of my favorite series ending, once again making me say goodby to my favorite characters and one of my favorite book worlds ever created. Ever since I read the fisrt book in Soul screamers series, I knew that this will be the series that will stay forever with me. Through all the seven books we see Kalyee grow and mature and become an amazing person who knows what she is willing to sacrifice for her family and friends, to ensure their safety. After everything that happend to her in previous books, including her death, you would think she deserves a little break. Well, apparently not. Amidst her wonderful relationship with Tod, repairing her friendship with Nash and becoming real friends with Sabine, while also helping Emma to cope with the aftermath of Before I wake, Avari si still a big threat and he is determined to have Kaylee's soul. We see our favorite characters fight the hellion of greed with every step of the way, making a lot of sacrifices, meeting unexpected new "allies" in the form of hellion of wrath all while trying to have a semi-normal high-school experience. My heart broke for Kaylee, to see her deal with all her anger and despair, and in the end the ultimate sacrifice. Of course, I sobbed a lot while reading the last 3 chapters nearly killed me, although the last brought happy tears to my eyes and I have to say I am happy how Rache Vincent decided to end the series, she really is one of my favorite authors and an mazing writer and world builder. Like with all series-ending books, I am sadm to say goodbye but I couldn't be more happy with how it all ended so it warms my heart everyone got what they deserve. So a special goodbye to my favorite reaper Tod, and to Kaylee, nash, Sabine, Emma, Luca, Sophie, Aiden, Brendon and Harmony. It was a pleasure :)(less)
This book really blew me away. I´ve never read anything like it. It has action, romance, intrigue, dead bodies and pkenty of heartstopping situations. I literally stopped breathing when I read some of the scenes. Unraveling heroine Janelle, is a 17-year old girl who is one of the best female characters I had ever encountered. She is brave, very intelligent and kind. We meet plenty of interesting characters in this book, like Ben, who is really great and I fell in love with him and his story, and Alex, Janelle´s best friend who you can´t help but like. Struz is also great and I look forward to reading about him again. There were a few situations which made me cry, especially the end. I look forward to the sequel ´cause Norris´s writing is fantastic and the story she came with is amazing so "Unraveling" couldn´t have been a better debut. (less)
This was lovely read, a story about forgiveness, love and new begginings. There were times I was reminded of Twilight and Heavenly series by Jennifer Laurens but all in all, great. I liked Jona, she was feisty and funny and I felt for her with everything that happened in the past and with everything that happens in the book. Julian was awesome. Of course, I knew what he really was from the beggining but it was interesting to see Jonas suspicions and her finding out. I liked how it all played out in the end, that three little words finally bring back happiness to Jona. Great read.(less)
It hasnt been long since I fell in love with this series and read first three books in less than two days. If I knew it would have ended this quickly, I would have read it more slowly. The funny thing is, I didnt even know this was the las Arcadia Bell book until the last few chapters and the epilogue. I was devestated but some authors could take a page from Jenn Bennetts book (not literally) and end the series when it is their time, not drag it out. Arcadia Bell series came to its natural end even though I am sad it ended and I would love to read more about Cady, Lon and Jupe. Cady Bell is one of the most interesting and kick ass female characters I ever had a pleasure of reading about. She doesnt avoid her problems, she faces them head on. her relationship with Lon is rock solid and she doesnt look for drama. Lon Butler is a fiercly protective, smart and hot man (and he is a man, not a boy), one of the best book boyfriends ever. The chemistry and love flowing between those two made me swoon on multiple occasions. Jupe is still the heart of this story. He brings joy and humor, he is also always willing to help and he is friendly. I loved hw everything worked out, the ultimate fight between mother (if you could call her that) and daughter was amazingly written, no fooling around. The epilogue melted my heart and I was happy with how their lives looked. I will miss these characters and their antiques but I am glad to have enjoyed this series so much. (less)
I know that I am repeating myself when I say that I adore Jennifer L. Armentrout but I think it is necessary to acknowledge her greatness before I go on about how much is this book awesome. Because it is. She always manages to completely shock me and make me experience a buckload of emotions while reading her books. Apollyon, as the next to last book in Covenant series, kicks-ass. I thought that nothing could surpass the awesomeness that was Deity but I was glad to be wrong yet again. Alex is such a strong character and I absolutely love her. Her humor, courage, loyalty and strenght make her one of the best book heroines, at least to me. Aiden is still an almost perfect guy and I kept falling in love with him more with every sentence. Apollyon is filled with love, heartache, determination, blood, death, tears and grief yet there is also hope. Cant see what happens next with Alex, Aiden, Seth, Deacon, Apollo and the others in Sentinel. I am terrified to know how JLA will end the series.(less)
I longed to read a good romance book, without paranormal or other in it, just pure romance with a little comedy and Donovan brothers brewery series was a perfect choice. There are three books in this series, each from a Donovan POV but Real men will, with the oldest Eric and his love interest Beth is by far my favorite. Eric is the most complex member of their small family, who feels the weight of the family name on his shoulder and he felt that way when his parents died many years ago and he had to raise his siblings. In a way he never really enjoyed life, always working and being protective of his siblings, sometimes being overbearing and stubborn. Beth came from a religious family, very traditional and she works in a type of sex shop and writes a sex column and her strict father knows nothing about it. She and Eric had a one night stand months ago where he used his brothers name so he could feel free and have fun but when Beth finds out, she cant trust him again. They meet again, fight, sparks fly and so they decide to have a no strings attached relationship. Many problems come between them, family and the law, but they overcome it. A good, relaxing read, perfect for the beach. (less)
