Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again. The easiness with which this woman creates fantastic stories and memorable characters really shouldn’t surprise me anymore She wrote a novel with an interesting plot, swoon worthy love interest, kick-ass heroine, a hurricane of emotions and plenty of surprises thrown our way. Again. I really look forward to any book she writes and every time she announces a new book I am so excited that I get on my friends nerves. “Cursed” is really an amazing novel and I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished. Ember and Hayden are an amazing book couple and I cant help but notice that most of my favorite fictional couples were the fruit of Jennifer´s imagination. The storyline with the “gifted” kids and a main character whose touch kills was told in a unique way it so sucks you right in and you wont be able to get away even after you finish reading. There was a lot of interesting situations, steamy scenes, surprising revelations and emotional rollacoasters.
This book cemented Jennifer L. Armentrout´s place among my top 5 favorite authors and since her every book gets even better than the previous one I think she will stay there for a very long time. For everyone who still hasn’t read any of her books ( if there even are any out there) you should. You will be introduced to amazing stories, special and fascinating characters and situations that will take your breath away. ...more

This is the book that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I just cant stop thinking about it and when I read that there will be a sequel I was relieved because there may be hope yet for a happy ending. "The Opporunist" is a book filled with heartbreak, lies and love. So much love and yet we see that love is sometimes not enough and that it makes people do bad things. It is beautifully written and the characters are so different from the ones we are used to. These are very flawed people that make lousy decisions but in the end you cant but understand them. Olivia, the main character of this book, is a manipulater and a liar yet everything she does is out of love. She changes in the end but her heart is broken and I think it will never heal. I love her character and I hope one day she will finally be really happy. Ever since I read it a couple of days ago I cant stop thinking about this book. I cried so much almost through the entire book. I hope many people read this book because it is unique and wit a heartbreaking story that will leave you breathless and stunned. "Dirty red" is the name of the sequel that comes out in December and I am dying to read it. It will be from Leah´s POV, Olivia ´s arch nemesis. I hated her character so it will be interesting to read from a perspective of a villain if you will....more

I was always awed with Cssandra Clare's writing but Infernal devices stole my breath away from the very first page in Clockwork angel. I fell in love with the story, with the era, with London and the Shadohunter world all over again but mostly I fell in love with people in this series. Tessa, Jem and Will will always have my heart but so will Gabriel and Gideon, Sophie and Cecily, Charlotte and Henry and of course, Magnus Bane because there is no good book abot the Shadowhunters and Downworlders without our favorite warlock. “Sometimes one must choose whether to be kind or honorable," he said. "Sometimes one cannot be both.” ― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess Clockwork princess finally answers all the questions we've been dying to ask. What really is Tessa? Who she ends up with? What will happen to Jem? Do Sophie and Gideon find their happy ending? And the biggest question of all, do they finally defeat the evil Mortmain? I have to say that this book was utter perfection and I held my breath until the last page. Plenty of heartache, battles, betrayals and death, but also love, loyalty and friendship, Clockwork princess was the best book Cassie Clare ever wrote so far, with the most amazing ending possible and that includes the Epilogue. I know a lot of people think that the epilogue was unnecessary but to me it was the icing on the cake and i cried and smiled while reading it. So prepare a lot of tissues for reading this book, you will need them but in the end, every tear will be worth it. So I say goodbye to this series and it's characters and I hope I will see some of them again in City of heavenly fire.“And now I need you to do for me what I cannot do for myself. I am really in love with this book. I love the world Danielle Jensen built, the characters she created, the dialogue, the romance and all the magic of Stolen songbird. I love fantasy and I have to say that I never read anything with trolls in it, at least not these kinds of trolls. I always imagined them as enormous, green, dumb things, but the way some were discribed in the book, they are gorgeous. At least those not deformed. I loved how Trollus was described, beautiful yet broken from the curse. All that beauty, only to be forever in the dark. I loved Cecile, she was a bit irritating at first, but as she sees the world is not all she thought it was, that some myths are true, and that she has the power to break the curse and free the trolls and half-bloods (half trolls, half human) and when she saw that like humans, there are both good and bad trolls, she matured, she fell in love and she found great friends. Tristan was a jerk at first, but we see that that is just a facade, that everything he saids or does is scrutinized and since trolls cant tell lies (like the fae) he learned from a young age to go around truth. He is strong, clever, handsome and powerful, also compassionate, rebelious and full of life. The book ends on a little cliffhanger, no happy ending yet in sight, and Cecile hell bent on finding the witch who cursed the trolls. I hope the sequel comes soon and we see Tristan and Cecile together and that the half-bloods are free of the terror trolls are putting them through. Unputdownable!...more

I am seriously in love with this book. It has everything I need to find a book great. Interesting storyline, amazing characters, it is unpredictable and unique, full of fascinating mythology, with amazing writing and a believeable and heartwarmig romance. It also has a lot of blood, tears, pain and betrayal and death so it is frustrating until the end but I think that this book is a great start to what I am sure will be a wonderful series. I must compliment Hashway on the world she has built and also on the creativity with which she writes and the way she made this book amazing with her vision. I love all that I have learned in this book about Medusa and I hope to learn even more in the future books about mythology because that is one of the many reasons this book is now one of my top favorites of the year. I anxiously wait for the sequel, Stalked by death, that comes out in the summer of 2013....more

After a long wait, Sweet reckoning is finally out. It is the last book in the Sweet trilogy so it was time to say godbye to this world and the characters. I enjoyed the first two book but this one is my favorite in the series. It has much more action, more steamy scenes, and a few surprises, bot good and bad. Some moments were heartbreaking, some were romantic or hot, and some were just plain happy. Anna is finally sure of herself and she is ready to fight the Dukes after the events on that island. She is sure of her faith, her father and her allies and mostly, she is sure of her love for Kaidan and he is sure of his love in her. They stopped denying their feelings and are going strong even though the future is not certain, it mostly never is. I loved them all in this book, Marna and Jay, Ginger and Blake, Kopano and Zania, Patty and Belial, Marek, Jezebet and Alocer. Of course, the Dukes are still evil (well, most of them) but I reserve special dislike for Pharzuph, Rahab and Thamuz. Those guys were pure evil and they gave me the creeps. We finally meet Mariantha, Anna s biological mother, and that was a very lovely scene. Sweet reckoning also brings death to some characters and some get their redemption which was a bittersweet scene. The storyline and the world the author created were amazing and it was hard to see it end. All in all, the best installment in the series and I am sad to say goodbye but the epilogue brought closure and what a closure it was. Beautiful and it made me cry. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did and now, I am looking forward to what Wendy Higgins writes next.

“Words, I think, are such unpredictable creatures. No gun, no sword, no army or king will ever be more powerful than a sentence. Swords may cut and kill, but words will stab and stay, burying themselves in our bones to become corpses we carry into the future, all the time digging and failing to rip their skeletons from our flesh.”
It is hard to say goodbye when you become so invested in the story and the path that the characters have taken and when you waited for years to see how it will all unfold. I fell in love with Mafi s world more than two years ago, when I first read Shatter me and the writing, the storyline and world building left me in awe. After everything that happens to Juliette through the series, from being in a mental "hospital", then captured by Warner, on the run with Adam, to finding people with different abilities in Omega point to being shot in the chest, you could say she has been through a lot. She grows from a weak and whiny girl to a strong, confident leader. I think that a lot of that growth she cant atribute to Warner. If it werent for him, she would probably still be afarid of her own shadow even though his metods could have been different. We find out even more about Warner, everything he did and his reasons for doing it, his hatred for his father is very big, and we also see that perhaps the "bad" things he did, werent as evil as we thought. The relationship between Juliette and Warner grows in this book, they become friends and finally more which enraged Adam who I cant stand after this book.
“I like the way I feel about myself when I'm with him." I say quietly. "Warner thinks I'm strong and smart and capable and he actually values my opinion. He makes me feel like his equal--like I can accomplish just as much as he can, and more. And if I do something incredible, he's not even surprised. He expects it. He doesn't treat me like I'm some fragile little girl who needs to be protected all the time.”
He was cruel, bratty and a real bastard. We see that the reason he wanted Juliette so much because he could take care of her, be the hero and when Juliette changed, became stronger than everyone, he didnt like it and he couldnt understand it. The two characters who bring humor and sweetness to this story are Kenji and James. A lot happens in Ignite me. Omega Point is gone, bombed into nothing by Anderson, Juliette is recovering with Warner and they think everyone is dead. From there story progresses. They all unite, forge a plan, train and with a few fights inbetween they go after Anderson. This book has a lot of deaths, uncertainty, yet hope, strenght, friendship and love are what the book is really about and I have to say that the ending made me really happy. The writing was amazing as always, Tahereh Mafi s style is really beautiful and poetic and I am really curious to see what will she write next.
“For so many years I lived in constant terror of myself. Doubt had married my fear and moved into my mind, where it built castles and ruled kingdoms and reigned over me, bowing my will to its whispers until I was little more than an acquiescing peon, too terrified to disobey, too terrified to disagree. I had been shackled, a prisoner in my own mind.
But finally, finally, I have learned to break free.” ...more

This book had me torn up until the very end. So much loss, lies, anger, secrets, passion but this much is true, it is a love story. Tally and Linc meet for the first time in the middle of tragedy that left Tally heartbroken. When they see each other again, she doesnt remember him but it i obvious they have a connection. So, after a few lies told they spend the night together and from there starts the real story. They are apart but they love each other. The age difference is too big. Lincs career could be in jeopardy because of the age difference. They are both perfectionists with very demanding careers that are their whole lives. They both hurt each other again and again so I almost didnt want them to end up together. How can love survive so many lies, secrets and betrayals? It seems that true love does. There are also a few very interesting support characters like Mara, Tallys best friend, and Rob, the dead twin Hollys boyfriend. They each have their own story within the main one. I cried a lot while reading, the book is very emotional and the writing is great. This is a definite must read for fans of New adult....more

It seems forever ago that I first read Lola and the Boy Next door, not in 2011 but I waited almost three years for this and let me tell you, it was well worth it. I am glad Stephanie Perkins took the time to edit, tweak the book and change what she think was needed because the end result is almost perfect, at least for me.
I dont really like quiet people or quiet book characters, I may be shy to people I dont know but most of the time I am incredibly loud so Isla was not my favorite character. Before finishing the book, I would probably give it a 4 star rating because of that but in the end it was just amazing, how she grew as a character and was trying to overcome her insecurities and learning to speak up. Jen from YA Romantics said that she was surprised that Isla was ordinary, with no adorable quirks. That is what made this book amazing to me. The main character is a normal girl, shy, tiny , a great student who doesnt know what she wants to do in the future, with a love of adventure books who has been in love with Josh from afar for years. She is unremarkable yet that makes her real and I most of all, love reading about characters that could be real. Josh is also an amazing character. I loved him in Anna and the French Kiss, the disinterested artist, who hides most of his intelligence, longs for his parents to pay attention to him and to spend time with him without the cameras and lonely since his friends graduated.
These two were perfect for each other, they canceled each others imperfections out and they had some pretty adorable or funny or steamy or heartbreaking scenes in this book. But those two were not my favorites from this book, it was Kurt, Isla a best friend. He stole my heart from the first sentence he utters, such a lovely soul. He is the reason every fan of this series will adore this book. And there is a surprise visit from my old favorites, Anna, Etienne, Lola and Cricket who when they appeared made me smile like an idiot. This is without a doubt one of my favorite YA releases of 2014 and an ending to a wonderful series which is bittersweet. In conclusion, you better read this! :)
“I’m…getting there. I’m beginning to think that maybe it’s okay to be a blank canvas. Maybe it’s okay that my future is unknown. And maybe,” I say with another smile, “it’s okay to be inspired by the people who do know their future.” “It goes both ways, you know.” I link his icicle fingers through mine. “What does?” “Artists are inspired by blank canvases.” My smile grows wider.”
It is a sad day when I have to say goodbye to yet another favorite series of mine. I have been with the Unearthly series from the beggining, I watched Clara trying to find her way with her purpose, I watched her relationship and friendships unfold and I was with her every step of her way to the end. This series is beautifully written, the world is imaginative and amazingly developed and the characters will stay with you long after you finished reading. Like so many other people, I was Team Tucker from the start but I also liked Christian even though I felt that he and Clara arent meant to be together. Clara faces many opstacles on her way to fulfill her purpose and since she broke Tuckers heart to protect him, it is Christian who is by her side. I expected to see her dove right into a new relationship with Christian but I was pleasantly surprised to see that she needed time. Often authors just instantly put their main character in another relationship. This book played it self out beautifully. Wee some new fallen angels and meet a few bad Triplare, we go into hell on a mission and we lose some characters on the way. But in the end everyone ends up happy. Well, almost everyone but I am happy that this series ended on a happy note. A beautiful end for a beautiful series....more

Claudia Gray is one of the first YA authors that I loved, ever since I read Evernight series in high school. I have yet to read her other series but when I read the blurb for this book I was anxious to have it in my arms. And then the cover was revealed and I have to say that it is my favorite book cover of all time.
This book is amazing. It has everything you want from a YA novel. It was heartbreaking, fast-paced, romantic and at times steamy and fun. I love the concept of parallel dimensions, and jumping into another you in another universe. I love the story, a girl doing everything in her power to find and punish her father s killer, who she knows very well and who she had a connection with.
Marguerite has qualities that all my favorite heroines have: she is brave, smart and an artist, no nonsense and loyal. Paul Markov, every version of him, has to be one of the best book boyfriends ever. So loving and gentle and intelligent and protective, he does everything he can to protect the girl he loves. The villain in this book has the potential to be really bad so I am curious how it will all develop in the next two books, which I am very excited to read. The writing was amazing as always, the world building extraordinary, character developement awesome, sometimes surprising and A Thousand Pieces of you is my favorite read of 2015 so far and I have a feeling it will stay in the top 10.

I was pleasantly surprised by this great debut. It was written beautifully, the characters were amazing and the story progressed smoothly and beautifully. This is a story about a girl who knows only disappointment in life, from her mother, her peers and ultimately her teacher, when he tries to seduce her but fortunately, she manages to escape. From there the story follows Ellen while she battles to find herself, to come to grips with what happened and what should she do.
Then, in summer camp, she meets Rex, a confident and fun guy who just moved from New York, with his own set of problems and it seems he has his eye on her. But because of Ellen s fear and shyness, they seem to be destined to remain friends so Ellen tries to figure out how to show him her true feelings in hope it is not too late. This story is very emotional, at times frustrating when we see how Rex and Ellen dance around each other. It is also a story about fighting for yourself, growing up and taking action even though you never know what will happen next. Ellen is an amazing character, cynical and lonely yet strong and funny. The friendship between Rex and her was amazing and entertaining and I am glad there was no insta-love. I hope Ms. St. Clair writes something new soon, I will sure read it.I recommend this book to lovers of contemporary YA, this book wont disappoint....more

A little more than a year has passed since Throne of glass came out and I fell in love with it. The sequel was hihly anticipated by many people, me among them. And again, Sarah J. Maas did not dissappoint. Crown of midnight has even more action and a lot more romance, full of shocking revelations, gruesome deaths and I couldnt put it down. Celaena is one of my favorite female characters and she is kicking ass in this book. Researching, fighting to uncover the truth all the while keeping up the facade of the Kings champion. She also is falling in love. Chaol Westfall is an amazing guy, he is trying to figure out who should he be loyal to, fighting with himself, trying to do the right thing and it may cost him in the end. But I think Celaena and Chaol are so perfect for each other and the work well together. We see a little less of Dorian in this book, he is slightly less a happy person than he was but I have hope for him, that one day he will be a great king. I couldnt believe that the sequel could be better than the debut but it truly was. The story is mesmerizing and the writing beautiful, Throne of glass series is a fantasy must read....more

This book was fantastic. Lately I am really getting into dystopia and I must say that Under the never sky is one of the best book in the genre to me. I am so thrilled with the world that Veronica Rossi created, everything is so easy to picture in your head, while you read it is like watching a movie in your mind. There are many characters that left a huge impact on me but mostly Perry and Roar. I love Perry´s intensity, the great care he puts into his words and I love the effect Aria has on him. This series is just amazing on so many levels. I know some people dont like it but to me, it is a fantastic read. When I read Obsidian for the first time, I didnt know what I was getting into. I have never read a book about aliens so I was sceptical but the blurb drew me in and I couldnt resist. Boy, am I grateful for that. It has been an amazing journey with these characters and the world Jennifer L. Arnmentrout and it is hard to say goodbye but I am happy because Opposition, even though the final book in the series, is also the best one in my opinion. Everything was done right, the Luxen invasion and the emotional parts of the story, all was as it should be. Of course, this book is fast paced, full of action and heartbreak, and since it is JLA, surprises are there as well. But the book is also sweet and funny, swoony and hot and we finally find out some things we have been wondering for the past few books. We finally find out about the girl Luc was so protective of ( I love that little devil ), we see where the Arum are living, we see who was involved with the invasion from the start and we also see how the arrival of the other Luxen affected Daemon, Dee and Dawson. The story was unpredictable and the POVs well done, there werent many similarities between Daemon s and Katy s. And I was glad to see more of Archer who became one of my favorite characters from this series. All in all, Opposition is a great read, it gave me all the answers I needed and the epilogue was just awesome *sigh* I hope you read it and enjoy it as much as I have, I am just sorry that this is the end.

When I first picked up Enclave, the fisrt book in the trilogy, I wasnt prepared for it. I read a few reviews but I didnt know I would love it so much. So, with a heavy heart, it is time to say goodvye to yet another favorite series of mine and the characters who will always be with me. Horde starts where Outpost ended, with our favorite group ( Deuce, Fade, Stalker and Tegan) going for help to another settlement since the horde is upon Salvation. In Soldiers pond they receive reinforcements, although not enough and when they return to Salvation, it is in ruins. That is when the real story of Horde begins, with Deuce and the others traveling from setttlement to settlement in search of people who will join their army and to try and defeat the horde. Amidst all of that there is Fade recovering from his "stay" with Freaks, Deuce missing him and trying to help him along with dealing with suddenly being in charge, Stalker who is trying to get over Deuce so they could be friends and always reflecting on how he and his gang have treated Tegan and his guilt. Then there is Tegan, always working, trying to imrove and not be a burden, helping others and tending to the wounded and always thirsting for knowledge.
“But wishes were empty thoughts, cast down a dark hole. They didn't come true unless you worked for them. I'd learned that about the world, if nothing more.”
Horde is dark, full of blood and gore, all out war, we see some dear faces die, yet there is hope in the shape of younger group of Freaks, who shocked me and certainly shocked Deuce when they spoke and didnt attack. I cried a lot while reading, one death hit me hard, yet at the end I was very happy for the rest. We see Stone and Thimble again, we see there is a way to leave in peace, we see love can really overcome the greatest obstacles and that kindness always matters, no matter how small the gesture. A perfect end for an amazing series. I applaud you, Ann Aguirre :)

When I read Immortal rules I was intrugued with how the author imagined the world and the characters she brought to the story. In The Eternity cure I was impressed with the developement of the storyline, the dynamics between the characters and that she created an Villain so vile, I cant remember I hated a character that much. The Forever song is the final book in Blood of Eden trilogy and after the way the second one ended, I was in tears and afraid of what will come next. I have to say I was impressed with the progression of the story and the subtle and not so subtle changes in characters. Allie is on a path to revenge, after everything that happened she wont stop until she kills Sarren and stops him from spreading the new virus. That path is really dangerous fro her, she lost herself to her grief and didnt really care anymore so her humanity was at risk. Kanin tried but there wasnt really anything he could do to bring back the real Allie, she had to realise herself what shee has become and make the decision to change. Jackal was the light in the dark story. His sarcasm always managed to bring a smile to myself even in the middle of blood and death. There were some unexpected developements, they gave me chills and broke my heart but this story was so dark from the beginning, I knew there will be bad things happenning. The ending broke me a little, I was hoping it wouldnt come to that (you will see when you read it) but I knew it couldnt be avoided. There was hope in the ending though. It made me smile. I hope everyone enjoys this ending as much as I did, it was an unforgetable ride. Julie kagawa is the master of storytelling and I am excited for Talon.

I laughed, I cried, I was frustrated and a few times I swear my heart almost stopped due to the surprises Wird sisters face. Celia is still my favorite sister but Taran is a close second. I adore Shayna nd Emme too but Celia and Taran have that special humor that I love. This book while it had plenty of action and blood, focused on Aric and Celia. I must say my heart broke for these two and a few times I wanted to smash my ereader into a wall. I hope everything works out but judging from the synopsis for Cursed by destiny, the 3rd book, there wont be many hearts and flowers. I cant wait for January. ...more

I fell in love first with the cover which is gorgeous, the when I started reading I just couldnt put it down, it was so well paced and interesting. I liked Lissa and how she matured and grew strong after the death of a man who raised her and how she always had hope. I loved Julian who is so brave and sweet and caring. I loved Slate, who finally get to see his daughter and you could just see the love pouring out of him. I liked Dena, who is heartbroken yet spunky. Rowan, wel, I liked him even though countless lives have been lost because of him but in the end he showed just how much love he is capable of holding. I hated the Queen, she was a b**** but she also had a different side which she I saw for a fleeting moment. I loved the world building, the humans on Jutaire, the beautiful Jute and a hope for Earth and a better existence. This is a story about love and forgiveness, sacrifice and hope. One of the best debuts and books of the year....more

And Cecy Robson did it again. I have to say that this series has definetly become one of my top 5 favorites and I eagerly await every new book. Cursed by destiny is even better than the first two. It has much more heartbreak, fighting to the death, evil b*****s and endlessly more humor. I love the catholic schoolgirls, they bring so much laughter in this book but they are also loyal and underneath all that insulting and harping, they love Celia. Aric and Misha are still both my favorites, but Aric has my vote after this book. He showed that he would give up everything for Celia and he is finally showing her how much he really loves her. Misha is a great guy, one who apparently doesnt know what monogamy is, but he also loves Celia and maybe he isnt so obvious about it but I have a feeling he will always stay in her corner. There were some developements in Liam and Emme s relationship and I think we should watch Bren closely. Other sisters and their mates are still going strong. I cant wait for the next book though we dont even know the title yet, I know it will be awesome because Cursed by destiny ends on a pretty big cliffhanger....more
