Charli (Charlotte) is a beautiful red headed tomboy who writes articles on sports and is looking to apply for another position. She was raised in house full of brothers. Charli's hero is a tall sexy Cowboy named Grant. He owns acreage for a winery and some of his property is allocated to an upscale BDSM club near Dallas, Texas. They meet by happenstance due to Charli's car being run off the and have a physical connection they both cannot ignore. To keep things interesting, the hero and heroine have issues from their past that they both need to overcome in order to move on with each other and to shed memories that hold them back..
The way this couple interacts with each other is kismet and very sexy. They bring out the best in each other even during the bumpy times. When it comes time for them to re-evaluate their relationship, some angst is added to the plot which ratchets up the story. This part of the book is not, in anyway, prosaic; but, rather it gives the reader the impetus to read faster because he/she HAS have to find out what will happen next.
This dynamic story is really worth your valuable reading time. It is a spicy intrigue romance and I am now trying to pull the hook out of my mouth since Ms. Loren lured me into her wonderful book. I will definitely pick up the other books in this series to read. The author did an excellent job of weaving her story to keep her readers engaged in the story. Not once does the reader feel left out of the loop by not having read the first books in this series. Fall Into You can definitley be read as a stand alone story.

This story had my heart twisted up in all sorts of directions because of the intensity of the heartache, pain and love came screaming off the pages in this book. Add in the intensity of the plot against the Slayers who want to destroy the werewolves and you have a recipe for a superb story.
Lucien Mondragon and Rafael Vulkasin are twin brothers who are the respective alphas of their packs - the Mondragon Pack and the Vulkasin Pack. Lucien’s attitude toward his brother is very bitter and hateful ever since Rafael killed his mate. Rafael is confident in the decision he made to slay Lucien’s mate because he was sure she was a Slayer - the Lycan’s worst enemy - and in turn, saving Lucien’s life since laying with a Slayer is punishable by death.
Because Rafael killed Lucien’s mate, Lucien has declared his right in the Blood Law where he is able to exact the same offense upon his brother, the offending party. Falcon, Rafael’s mate is ordered by the elders who oversee and uphold the laws of the packs to go to Lucien. The beginning of the story has the reader thrown into the middle of the ramifications of Rafael handing over Falcon to Lucien creating an astounding start to a great book.
As a heroine, Falcon is level headed, brave, and is able to do what she needs to do in order to make sure the packs stay cohesive rather than war with each other despite the declaration of the Blood Law on Lucien’s insistence. Because of her powers and ther relationship with the two alphas, she becomes a major player int he building conflict.
Falcon’s personal life gets more complicated. The more time Falcon spends with Lucien, she falls in love with him, too. Because of the tie she spends with Lucien, she also learns more about herself and her powers. The strength of the feelings she has for both Lucien and Rafael causes Falcon to be torn between the feelings she has for each brother since they have both melded to her soul. They each fulfill here in different and inexorable ways which make her complete. In addition, she has a strong feeling that she is supposed to be with both brothers and has a strong suspicion that the Prophecy of the Three relates to the three of them.
Bloodright is an outstanding book and I am waiting with bated breath for the next installment of this series. If you are a paranormal romance genre reader, this is a book you do not want to pass up. It has everything one could hope for in a good book - love, hate, mayhem, sensual moments, Lycans. Absolutely a hands down five star read! And the ending will leave you pining for more.
Happy Reading from Bona Fide Reflections!!

Hot Under Pressure by Louisa Edwards is a surprising novel. This is the first novel in the Rising Chef series that I have read and I am intrigued enough to want to go back and read the preceding stories. This particular book is a very pleasing romance with an original backdrop to have people connect on an intimate level.
Henry Beck and Skye Gladwell’s relationship is very tenuous. Before the Rising Chef Competition (RSC), they have not laid eyes on each other despite the fact that they have been married ten years. To say they have been estranged is putting it mildly. So, the tension when they finally meet again runs from shock, hostility, to lust - in other words, emotional whiplash.
Throughout the Rising Chef Competition the two main characters experience emotional growth. Skye has the support of her friends from her place of business of which she is owner, Queenie Pie, and Beck has the support of a surrogate family, the Lundens who own a restaurant where he is employed through which he gains a caring family that has “adopted” him into the fold of their care and security. However, he is reticent to accept the connection due to his loner tendencies. Beck’s friend Winslow does a lot to help Beck come out of his emotional shell. Wilson also provides a little comic relief and practicality to the tumultuous feelings Beck must confront.
Beck is ex-military and the reader finds him falling back on his training to get through the competition. The use of this as Beck’s mechanism to discipline himself into a well-oiled cooking machine, to keep his focus on the RSC and to deal with Skye was a little awkward for the scope of this book.
Skye has her share of issues to deal with over and above the rivalry between the cooking teams throughout the cooking competition: her boyfriend, her feelings for her former lover, to a small extent her relationship with her parents, and the emotional trauma of feeling abandoned by Beck when she went through an emotional upheaval years ago. In an attempt to move past her feelings and move on with her life, she asks Beck for a divorce. Before he lets her go, he makes a request that she spend one more night with him. From there, their relationship flares back to life once the gauntlet has been laid by Beck.
The connection between Henry Beck and Skye Gladwell was touch and go for me. They were just missing that spark that really jumps off the pages and burrows into your heart. There was too much inconsistency in their emotions one moment they were angry and resentful towards each other and the next moment they are talking about sex; making it hard for me to completely buy into the relationship. However, I enjoyed the novel. The secondary characters helped to keep the story rolling nicely by binding the plot together very nicely.
Over all, Hot Under Pressure is a good romance novel. I enjoyed the book and I liked the originality of the use of culinary arts as a form of expressing conflict and creating an environment that can cultivate romance. I am looking forward to reading the preceding books in the Rising Star Chef series: Too Hot to Touch (Book 1) and Some Like It Hot (Book 2).

James is another stunner of a novel and a great ending to her Fifty Shades Trilogy. Even though Chrisitan and Ana are now married, the excitement and intensity between the couple has not diminished. In fact, I think it was stepped up a notch. To add some levity to the serious issues dealt with in the novel are Ana’s inner goddess and subconscious and the snarky e-mail diatribes between Christian and Ana.
As the happy couple are enjoying their phenomenal honeymoon abroad, they still have Christian’s mercurial emotional swings and possessiveness to deal with. That being said, it adds to the voracity of the on-going healing process that Christian must face in order to heal. It is Ana’s love, understanding, and many compromises that continue to help him dig out of his dark emotional hole.
While trying to deal with his inner demons, Ana has some personal battles of her own to wage. Even though it is her deepest wish to set Christian free from his personal demons, she finds herself needing to exert her independence and fight for some autonomy so that she continues to be her own person, not his possession.Adding to the angsty issues in the relationship is the antagonistic plot of the who-done-it portion of the story that began in the previous books in this trilogy. Running these two distinct plots side by side makes reading this book doubly enjoyable.
E.L. James is a wonderful story teller. Her voice is smooth and keeps the story going like a well oiled machine. Once you start, it is hard to put Ms. James‘ book down. She gives her stories eroticism, emotional poignancy, humor and peppers it all with suspense to keep her readers very entertained.
Fifty Shades Freed is the perfect finish to the trilogy. The ONLY complaint I have is that Ana and Christian’s story has come to a conclusion. I know I can revisit them when by re-reading this series; but, it is just not the same. I lament the fact that their story has come to an end. I highly recommend this book to all romance readers; however, I really think you should read the first two books in the trilogy (Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker) to get the full impact of this story. This novel will mean so much more to you as a reader when you become completely invested in these two characters.

The start of the story is not ideal for Natalia, our vampire huntress; but, she is able to extricate herself from the situation and leaves the situation physically unscathed; but, emotionally she is touched and she soon she finds herself in the arms of one of the creatures she hunts down. Not only emotionally compromised, she find herself in need of his help to hunt down her current mark.
Cristian is the leader of his pack and has been unattached since losing his mate decades ago. However, after meeting Natalia, his wolf and his libido sit up and take notice. As the story progresses, Cristian realizes that his territory and is pack are under attack by the rogue werewolf Natalia is tracking for extermination. In order to be successful at accomplishing their goals, Cristian and Natalia will team up.
This story was such a fun read. I liked the way the male/female role was juxtaposed. Usually in romances the man is the one with the steely unreachable countenance and the woman is usually the one who is able to break down the walls built around his heart. In this paranormal romance, Natalia is the dispassionate one and Cristian is the one who is receptive to his feelings and acts accordingly. Natalia is does not know how to handle her feelings for Cristian and makes some emotionally difficult decisions where she has to re-think her whole way of life.
Destiny Unchained by Leia Shaw was a very delectable read. Cristian is adorable and Natalia is worth the effort it takes to forgive and love. The journey they take together is amusing and austere at times. Ms. Shaw has created a paranormal romance series that is worth reading because her delivery of her mythos, character building and sense of humor are original, charming and compelling. You need to give this author a chance to regale you with her narratives because you won’t regret it. Her novels have personality, spice, action, and an HEA.(less)

At the beginning of the story, she is a naive young woman and then life throws her a few curve balls making her grow up very fast in a short amount of time.
Karsyn has the two men in her life, Gabriel Thompson and Chase Carter and she finds herself caught between them. Chase has been her friend and personal Superman for years. Aside from her father, Chase is the one person she has been able to count on to get her through the tough times. Then Gabriel shows up in her life as her father’s new right hand man in his auto mechanic shop.
The relationship that develops between Gabriel and Karsyn threatens her friendship with Chase as Gabriel attempts to steer her away from him. She assumes Gabriel is merely jealous of Chase and she tries to hold on to her relationship with her friend. Life becomes more complicated as she gets further entrenched in her love for Gabriel. Her implacable faith in her love for Gabriel is shattered in one night and she ends up in the arms of her childhood hero even though she will never recover from her feelings for Gabriel.
Karsyn’s blind faith in Chase becomes a life-altering experience as she makes the ultimate commitment to him in marriage. She places her life and the well-being of her child in the hands of someone she believes she knows better than herself at the cost of the most important people in her life, including her father. The web of deceptions Chase is able to create will boggle the mind, as well as Karsyn’s naiveté. The lengths he goes to ensure his wife, the lady he has been in love with since she was very young, stays in his life will have the reader gasping.
As Karsyn becomes ensconced in a nightmare-reality in Blind Faith, the reader finds themselves emotionally wrapped up in her well-being, her happiness and rooting for the man she had to leave behind. Michael Schneider has written a romantic suspense novel with a diabolical twist. The reader finds themselves being hurled into a journey right along with the heroine and wanting to hold her hand while muttering “we’ll get through this, hang in there.” This debut novel is very captivating and well worth the time.
