Sage Peterson has been living in the basement of the university where Professor James Elias teaches. She has lived a hard lonely life where she has to cover up all of strange unexplainable events that occur around her when she gets overly emotional. The frustrating, sexy, authoritative James offers to help Sage who is a powerful half witch/half sorceress by training her in magic while he is secretly planning to use Sage against his enemies. However, as they spend more time together, their feelings deepen into a bond that is irrefutable, even to Professor Elias who has a few secrets he is trying keep to himself.
Ms. Shaw is able to create a solid connection between the reader and the hero and heroine of this story. She has created two domineering eccentric characters that effectively complement each other. The snarky conversations and one liners between Sage and James is very amusing and helps to lessen the intensity of the events occurring around them. The sexual tension and relationship that develops between the two main characters is extremely meaningful. In addition, the plot and the originality of novel compounds the reader’s appreciation of the novel. The combination of all these elements creates a paranormal romance that is hard to put down.

Delicate Freakn' Flower by Eve Langlais is about a young werewolf woman named Naomi who grew up in a household with five older brothers who tended to get scrappy a lot around the house. The violence inherent in the male animal shape-shifters to disclose deep feeling in her childhood home did not lend itself to Martha Stewart type decorating or sensibilities. So her mom had to “make do” to with mismatching dishes and sturdy, well worn furniture.
Naomi is bound and determined to find a nice, intelligent, quiet, non-violent human male for a mate when she is ready to settle down. She just wants a home where she can have nice things and know they will not end up in pieces at the end of the day. Despite her “delicate” needs, Naomi knows how to scrap with the best of the shifter population, especially since she had to deal with five older werewolf brothers growing up.
However, fortune has other plans in mind for Naomi once she is, quite literally, smacked in the face with the “injustice” of discovering she has two sexy, shifter lacrosse players for mates. Ethan is a Kodiak bear and Javier is a jaguar. Naomi cringes inside at the thought of being tied to two dumb, though very sexy, shifters for the rest of her life. As time passes, Naomi is left wondering if there isn’t more to her mates than first met the eye.
The only reason I was not able to give 4 stars to the story was that I would get weary of Naomi’s calamitous attitude at times. On the whole, Delicate Freakn Flower was a very gratifying shifter-love story. It provided humor, loyalty, two sexy tenacious men , steamy love, and moments of tenderness. Eve Langlais is fast becoming an author I trust to entertain me in the paranormal romance genre.
Some of my favorite lines from the novel are:
... the impressive speed and strength displayed by the lacrosse players—two in particular—made her girly parts tingle. Even more surprising, something about these males made her inner wolf yip in excitement. -- *snickers* @ girly parts
She wanted to hate that he kept destroying her stereotypical view of a jock, but instead she grudgingly liked him more and more. The jerk.
She wished she owned a mental muzzle for her inner wolf who spun in circles woofing while she chased her tail giddily.

The building up of the love connection is artfully done. Ms. Harper also administers a good who-dun-it mystery in with the amalgamation of her book. Plus, she has filled this book with wacky characters and comical, snarky one-liners. This was the most fun I have had reading a book in a long while.

Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James is a cute, clean, fun, adult romantic novel. I enjoyed the strength of Taylor Donovan’s character and her sense of humor. She had some good one-liners in this novel that had me in stitches. There were quite a few places in the book that made me laugh or giggle.
Taylor is a hot shot lawyer who temporarily has moved out to L.A. to take as case. In the midst of preparing for her case, she is forced into helping out Jason Andrews, who is the hottest ticket in Hollywood, to prepare for an upcoming role in a movie where he portrays a lawyer. The premise of the book is swoon-worthy. Who wouldn’t want to be the center of a hot Hollywood actor. Well, Taylor. She is not impressed with him at all in the beginning of the book. But, as time goes on she starts to appreciate the “real” Jason not the Jason, the actor. The twists and turns the relationship between Taylor and Jason takes is very entertaining.
The only draw back I felt this book had was that it did not invest me in Jason’s character. His character was supposed to be shallow due to his notoriety in Hollywood, especially in the beginning. However, when he started getting serious about Taylor, I did not perceive his actions and words on a deep emotional level. I just could not connect to him. This did not detract from my enjoyment of the book. I just wanted to relate why I did not give the story a higher rating. I would still recommend it for romance readers. Julie James is a talented writer. I really, really liked Something About You.

It has a little bit of everything for us romance aficionados. It offers a good plot with great secondary characters, sexual tension, magnetic passion, deep abiding friendship, love, humor, mystery, and suspense.
This story has a very humorous beginning. Cameron Lynde, is in a hotel room where her sleep is rudely disturbed by a couple in the room next her having a vigorous lovemaking session. The cause for her sleep disturbance leads the story into a plot of intrigue where Cameron is reunited with FBI Agent Jack Pallas after three years where he fortuitously assigned as the agent in charge of the investigation Cameron unwittingly has found herself in the midst of.
When Jack left the Chicago area three years earlier, he and Cameron did not part on friendly terms, although they have a grudging respect for each other professionally. So, the start of their reunion has a strong cantankerous edge to it. Agent Wilkins who is Jack’s partner in the investigation adds some much needed comic relief to the strained situation. There were several laugh out loud moments in this book that were incited by Agent Wilkins. The other secondary characters in this story add a cohesive grounding in Cameron’s life and eventually, in Jack’s life.
The interest and heat that began when Cameron and Jack worked on their first case together starts to simmer again. The sexual tension that grows is thick as they feel more and more drawn to each other on a physical level. As the mystery of the plot thickens, the two learn to trust one another again despite the hurt they have caused each other in the past.
The author definitely knows how to capture her audience with mystery, suspense, sensuality, friendship, humor and love. Adding to those elements, Julie James voice is light and snarky at times. The delivery of Cameron and Jack’s story draws the reader in with her originality and sense of humor. In addition, her ability to create characters the reader will fall in love and connect with is outstanding. The romance reader would be remiss to pass up this story and this author. I highly recommend this book.
Some of my favorite quotes from Something About You are: - The manager gestured to the door. “Would you mind if I escorted you back into your room, Ms. Lynde?” This was Polite-Peninsula-Hotel-speak for “You might as well get comfortable because your eavesdropping ass isn’t going anywhere.”
- “Glowering”—she liked that description. It was certainly more insightful than the generic “asshole” she’d been going with for the past three years.
- ...she realized then that her mind was already so far down in the gutter she’d need an extension ladder to get it out so she might as well just give in to the whole darn fantasy.
- (He looked) More like a chocolate molten lava cake. A dessert so sinful, so luscious, so filled with inner heat it made a girl want to lick each and every crumb right off the plate. That was Jack Pallas.

In beginning of the story, Marigold (a witch) is trying to rid herself of her pesky freckles by ingesting a self-made potion which, unbeknownst to her, could potentially take her life. Mictain, the Aztec god of death acting as a minion to Lucifer on assignment to take Marigold’s soul to hell. Marigold spies Mictian before she takes the potion. She is not supposed to see the Aztec god, and he is intrigued even though his assignment is not completed due to Marigold’s refusal to follow through on ingesting the fatal brew. Instead, she invites Death to dinner.
This paranormal tale allows for the reader to make a reality jump in believing in the instant attraction of the leading characters leading to a relationship. The author’s voice is humorous. She often alludes to modern political references when Lucifer comments on incoming “prisoners.” In addition, Eve Langlais adds a little mystery and mythical intrigue to grasp her reader into the erotic story. Plus, there is an emotional tug the reader feels toward Mictain. As a god who is normally able to handle strenuous circumstances is oriented into a helpless situation where he is made to feel frustration and longing when his need to assist his lady love is not met. He is placed into a helpless position; therefore, he has to call on help from the Fates.
Eve Langlais has created a delectable read with a love, intrigue, and a snarky voice peppered with very erotic moments which erupt between Mictain and Marigold. I joyfully recommend this narrative to fans of hot, paranormal romance.

This book is a zany, delightful, yet moving story with a cast of colorful characters. The main story-line narrates a relationship between Parker Hollis and Amara Schweller. He is not your run of the mill male vampire. He is a vegetarian vampire who was cursed into such a state by a clingy ex-girlfriend named Terri who is a witch that has tormented him for years.
After a major life change, Parker and his best friend, Greg who is a ghost move to a town called Maggie’s Grove where different kinds of supernatural beings live in relative peace. Parker moves in next to Amara who is a reclusive dryad with few friends and is considered an outcast. As soon as Parker meets Amara, he is attracted to her unlike anyone he has ever met.
Parker learns he is able ingest her blood since, basically, she is green and leafy. Knowing he can have a meaningful relationship with Amara, he claims her as his own. The partnering of these two supernaturals is delicious (no pun intended) and titillating because they are so good together inside the bedroom and outside of it. They fight together to thwart the evil machinations of Terri’s jealousy and her need to claim Parker as her own. In fact, the actions which Terri is willing to take to have Parker to herself threatens the entire town.
Dana Marie Bell’s amazing writing ability allows us to delve into a unique world that the reader will not want to leave when the story has ended. Fortunately, Ms. Bell has left plenty of fodder to create more delightfully fascinating stories about the community of Maggie’s Grove and I truly hope she does entertain us with more narratives of this enchanting supernatural community.
Don’t miss out on this read! My summary of Blood of the Maple does not do justice to the story. There is SO much more to this story than what I was able to relate in my review. You need to devour this wonderful tale for yourself. I have a strong feeling that you will not regret submersing yourself into this original and brilliant world the author has created for us to escape into.

The plot in this story revolves around a group of shifters and Dez Llewlyn trying to ferret out who is behind the illegal hybrid shifter dogfights. Who's money and cunning backs such a treacherous past-time? While the investigation is being implemented, the story of how Dee Ann and Ric come together to share love is unfurled.
The antics that go on between the main characters and the supporting characters will have the reader rolling in their chair or on the floor laughing. Shelly Laurenston never fails to make me laugh with her zany sense of humor. When I finish her books, I lament the fact that the book has ended. If you are new to this author, I highly recommend you start with The Mane Event. You will get more entertainment value from this story if you do.

Then, the story flashes to present day New Orleans and is occurring in tandem to the last installment of the Immortal After Dark book that featured Carrow and Callum.
The conflict in the story begins very quickly which had my heart twisting and remained as such until the last third of the book. Delcan Chase, the commander of the Order, along with some of his soldiers have rounded-up Regin to take her to confinement with the other Lore folk that have been previously captured in an installation on an island where the majority of the novel takes place.
The happily ever after for this hero and heroine does not come easily. However, Ms. Cole does a superb job of staying true to the characters we all know and love so well. The author also introduces us to a few new characters that draw you in and thereby win your heart.
The Valkyrie and witch humor is very much alive and well. Because of the sense of humor peppered through out the story and the loyalty of the characters to each other, I was able to keep reading the story without having to put the book down when I grew very frustrated with some of the situations in the story line.
Bottom line is Kresley Cole delivers another outstanding novel in her IAD series. She is able to illicit laughter, frustration, love, and a myriad of other emotions throughout the entirety of this story. Her ability to hook you into her world and not let go until the very end is uncanny.
